Well done sue. I've updated my details but could someone on a pc move me up to ttc please?

Coconutfeet · 14/03/2012 21:35

Holldoll - Really, really sorry to hear your news. As others have said, we are all here to support you if you need it but completely understand that need to run away and hide too.

Digi - I wondered if the baby was pressing on something too. Good idea to get checked out. How fantastic that it's your last commuting day tomorrow. I can't bloody wait till I finish work.

Hope poor ds isn't too poorly Igggi.

I've got a growth scan tomorrow morning. I'll be interested to see what they say as the mw said I was measuring a bit large. I must remember to ask the consultant about aspirin and when/whether he thinks I should stop it.

Met with a potential doula last night and meeting up with another one later this week. I've decided to try and focus on this baby for the next few weeks rather than stressing about finding somewhere to live. Apparently our buyers are talking about pulling out which is a pain, but I'm trying to be Buddhist about it and let it all wash over me. Really don't want my blood pressure shooting up again this time around...

mercator · 15/03/2012 17:50

choccy I've moved you up to ttc.

igggi · 15/03/2012 18:18

Just to say I had a growth scan today, baby measuring 30 weeks (a few days ahead) and other measurements all on 50th centile (if that's the right word) ie average. Very pleased, just appt with obs tomorrow to worry about but hopefully it will be fine (and she'll tell me I have Cpox immunity).

Buster76 · 15/03/2012 19:34

Hello!!
Just wanted to check in.
Lovely to hear all the lovely scan news and the safe arrival of baby stogan I must admit I had a tear in my eye when I read your message! Smile Beautiful!
Sad for holldoll Sad This is all soo so hard!
Im testing next week, finally got a smiley face - 3rd month of pred. Cycle is now around 38 days so been to the GP for LH,FSH,E2 and progesterone. They must think I am nuts!! Went on day 1, again on day 21, 26 and 29 just to cover all bases Wink I did go on fertility plus but all the results still confuse me Confused doesnt take much! Hopefully Mr S will shed some light.

xxx

picolina123 · 16/03/2012 07:22

holldoll i know your feeling crap, take a break and try and focus on you and we are always here for later when you feel up to it . #

got my first period after mc today, body is amazing , exactly 26 days ( my normal cycle) after mc.

picolina123 · 16/03/2012 07:37

sue where do you get your Nutrasea with 1000mg omega 3. from?

Coconutfeet · 16/03/2012 08:48

Picolina ? That first post period mc feels quite significant doesn?t it. It must be good to know that your body has slipped back into its proper cycle so quickly and you?re not having to hang around waiting. I can?t remember what you were told about trying again? Are you waiting for a while or trying straight away?

Ari - How long do you have to wait to get all those test results?

Digi ? Is it first day of mat leave today? Or have you started working on your project already?

Iggi ? Good news on the scan! Have you got any more booked? I had one yesterday too and was told the baby now weighs 1.9kg - average size, thankfully. Consultant is really happy with the way things are going so far and, assuming things continue this way, sees no reason why I can?t have a normal delivery, rather than induction. Oh and he said to stop the aspirin at 36 weeks so it?ll be interesting to see if that has an effect on my blood pressure.

Arianrhod · 16/03/2012 09:40

buster so you've had the tests I've been told to get (except progesterone, haven't been told to test that) - how long do you have to wait to get your results back, if you don't mind me asking?

igggi great news on the scan, 50th centile is a good happy medium to be in, not too heavy, but not too small.

pico I always think that too, isn't the body an amazing thing?! Until of course I try so hard to get that BFP and another cycle goes by without it, at which point I curse my body for being so bloomin' awkward! Grin

coconut I have no idea, I've never had these tests done. Funnily enough my GP did actually refer me for these tests plus the CD21 test back in October 2010 when we'd been trying for 6 months with no success, but before I could have the CD21 test I found out I was pregnant. But I know from other blood tests I've had done more recently, the results can take up to 2 weeks to come back, which is rubbish really :( I am wondering if the DHEA I've been taking will skew the LH/FSH/E2 results at all, but then though I'll only have been taking it for a month, I doubt it will have that much of an effect yet.

And excellent news for your scan results too coconut, brilliant that your consultant says you can have a normal delivery too!

I shall update the list in a min moving me into Waiting to Test as I OVd early on CD13, and I'll add on the appropriate days for everyone (hope I don't mess it up!). Actually I got very lucky with tracking my OV this month .. CBFM said High from CD8 (really? the lines didn't indicate that!), and I started testing with CB digi OPK from CD10. CBFM stayed High, but OPK showed a very clear smilie face evening of CD12 with very strong lines, and I had major OV pains that night and the next day, so I think the OPK was definitely right. Come the next morning though, CD13, the CBFM still showed High and OPK that night was back to just one line, so it looks like I had a short surge and the CBFM missed it. Thank goodness I'm a paranoid sort and don't trust leaving it to just one lot of testing, but double-up with the OPKs. Only DTD on CD12 and CD13 though, day before OV and day of OV, as I didn't expect to OV that early, so hope we've done enough!

/waves to everyone

Hi ladies, do you mind if I join you? I did poke my head in a few weeks ago prior to seeing Mr S for the first time.

My story is I have one DS who is 3.9, have been TTC#2 since May 2009. In that time I have had 2 early miscarriages, an ectopic (lost left tube) and most recently a CP at Christmas. All RMC tests on NHS were normal.

I had my results appt with Mr S on Monday and it turns out I do have high NK cells. Count was 268 (should be

Morning GreenOlives and a very big welcome (again)! Sorry for all your losses, but good that you've finally found something that might well be the cause.

I think everyone experiences pred slightly differently, but yes I definitely get vivid dreams, along with sleep difficulties (go off to sleep ok, but wake up frequently throughout the night), and in the early days it used to cause some gastric upsets too, although that seems to largely have settled down.

Be nosy all you like - if we weren't a generally inquisitive bunch on here I don't think we would have discovered the information we have that we need to help us in this gruelling journey. For me, once my body had readjusted from the coil (first pregnancy took 6 months) I was getting pregnant every second cycle of trying, up until this last miscarriage in December. Now I'm on my third cycle, and I won't know if this has been successful for another week and a half. But I believe some ladies feel the pred has interfered with their ability to get pregnant, whereas others as you say have gone on and got pregnant quickly. I guess it's down to each individual's body as to how they react to the pred.

Have Mr S just got you on pred, or on hydroxycholoroquine as well?

OP posts:
snoopygirl · 16/03/2012 10:27

Morning all,

holldoll sorry to hear you news. Sad

pico glad things have got back to normal so quick. Do you have to take a break?

ari best of luck for this cycle. I wish everyone on here good luck but there are a few people I would love to see get preggers who are just struggling to even get of the starting block because of chemicals/endless cycles of nothing or whatever and just going round in a big loop.

good Luck buster too.

greenolives welcome. I would probably get pregnant every 6 months or so before the pred (although wasnt' always timing things properly). I got preg 3 cycle on pred but it was a chemical so didnt' work out. Personally I believe holding off pred for a couple of days after ov so it doesn't interfere with OV was it hasnt' done for me but cycle is now only 25 days not 28. So may start some acupuncture when I have a bit more cash as that's helped alot of ladies on here.

Welcome greenolives I remember you from before Smile good luck this cycle!

iggi a cs date!!! Is this news or were you always expecting a cs?

ari fingers crossed v hard for you

pico that's a relief. Always took me around 60 days to get my af post-mc

coconuts yep, not commuting anymore but have already started working from home. Deadline on Tuesday so may be able to relax on weds.
Waiting to have my growth scan so will catch up properly later.

PQ77 · 16/03/2012 13:16

Happy Friday everyone. Welcome back greenolives. To answer your question I'm a quick conceiver even on the pred (?unfussy womb? 8 conceptions over 9 months of trying) but I also put a lot of store in acupuncture. Fingers crossed for you.

How is your dad choccy? nothing like isssues with your family's health to take your mind off ttc. must be your bday soon - I went out for dinner with dh for mine yesterday and nearly fell asleep at the table!

cheerful - you're right, I read that bit in dr beer's book about subchoronic heamatomas with interest. Had the final bit (I hope) bleed out last weekend and nothing more since then. Doesn't stop me feeling nervous every time I go to the loo though. Have just got the mattress topper back from the cleaners and feel like I should be sleeping on a towel just to be safe!

Feeling a bit pathetic and lying in bed on my day off for no particularly good reason (not working like digi!). Next scan is next Thursday so counting down the days. mr s put the kibosh on my work trip to Germany next week (because of the bleeding) so have told work I can't fly because of a blood clot - technically true so I am quite pleased with that excuse, no ones questioned it. Though I weighed myself this morning and have put on nearly a stone so my colleagues must have guessed whats going on - also when combined with me flaking out half way through a presentation and having to sit down because I felt hot and faint yesterday.

How are things at the pox house igggi

How are your energy levels free? house update?

Wave to everyone else - there was more I was going to say but have got everyone's news mixed up now.

GreenOlives · 16/03/2012 14:18

Thanks for the welcome ladies, this TTC malarkey really is just a bit of a lottery isn't it, thanks for sharing your experiences, I'm hoping my next pregnancy will not be far off? I'm just on the Pred Ari, obviously along with the standard Pregnacare, D3, Omega 3 and aspirin.

Hope everyone has nice plans for the weekend. I have work tomorrow Sad but then Sunday I shall be expecting my mothers day lie in/breakfast in bed, then I'm having all the family for dinner later so that should be lovely Smile

ChoccyPud · 16/03/2012 14:53

Thanks for asking PQ. My dads been down rather than up during the week. He is still unable to eat or drink so they are giving him nutrition via IV. I have yet to find out if it's intralipids but wouldn't that be ironic?!

You're right though that it's certainly kept me well distracted. Busy week at work too so barely had time to mental tho am thinking its unlikely it'll happen this month as I've been v stressed and upset a lot this week. I've been feeling quite hot, had a few twinges (tho as always that could be wind!), but I'm actually not paying it much attention. Maybe it's more automatic now I've been here so often?

I'll test tomorrow which is my birthday (belated happy bday to you too btw!). I thought about it today as its 10dpo but I'd rather get the working week done and concentrate on just work and dad. Tmrw will be dad and me - I only have so much brain capacity iykwim. Of course is like to be able to give dad some news of progress but we must just wait and see.

Glad you've stopped bleeding must be a huge relief.

Hello Greenolives and welcome back!

Waves to all - TFIF! :)

igggi · 16/03/2012 15:00

Hello GO, and welcome.
Pico glad you are back on track, though I know it doesn't seem like much to be thankful for.

Had surreal conversation with doctor today who kept talking about "if I decided to have another" - er, no, I will never be doing such a thing again. If I pull this one off I will consider myself extremely lucky and that will be enough! (Of course if was my first child or I was younger might feel differently).
Digi hope it's all good! I had a section last time and really wanted another - I need to know the end is in sight and someone with more luck than me will get the baby out.

Glad it went well for you too Coconut
Ds is watching vast amounts of tv and hopefully keeping his pox to himself.

FrozenNorthPole · 16/03/2012 16:58

Just wanted to send belated condolences to Holldoll - I'm extremely sorry to hear this news, and sorry that you have to go through this pain. Completely understand the need to step away. Sending healing wishes in your direction x

Still not heard about the NT screening!! Aargh, don't they know that I'm mentalling somewhat anxious about the result?

Sorry for utter lack of personals, am a bad thread buddy Sad

batteryhen · 16/03/2012 17:04

Hello :) Sorry for being so quiet for a while, I had the amnio on wednesday and have been mentalling all by myself for the lat 2 days. I have just had the phone call and it is good news - all clear :) I am so relieved but some what exhausted. I promise to post longer later xxx

frozen Remember they only ring you if you are high risk - so no news is good news :) xxxx

FNP let's work on the no news is good news theory

igggi · 16/03/2012 17:52

Frozen how long have you been waiting?
So pleased to hear your news, Battery Smile
Oh, I finally told ds today and he has been shouting into my tummy and asking when it's coming out (repeatedly).

Dunnitt · 17/03/2012 09:34

holdall so sorry to hear your news. Take some time out to re-group and decide next steps. Too early to make any decisions about anything yet.

battery phew, another milestone reached.

Update from me. I had dating/Nuchal scan yesterday. Was amazing. I felt more confident than my last 12wk scan which resulted in the MMC, but still there is always that element of doubt. The doc was great she knew how I would be feeling so straight away she turned the sound for the heartbeat on and it came booming out of the speakers. So that was really emotional. That was followed by 40 minutes of checks. I had no idea what they were able to look at. So detailed.

For anyone considering going private for a scan I highly recommend the Fetal Medicine Centre. I had my blood taken for the combination test at 11am then the scan at 11.30, by the end of the scan they had results so I had my Downs risk result there and then. 1 in 6000 for Tricomy 21 and 1 in 10,000 for Tricomy 13/18. So was very pleased.

After 2 years on this journey it was very hard to ever believe that I would ever get to have my very own set of scan shots. Still having to pinch myself.

igggi · 17/03/2012 10:11

That's wonderful Dunnit Smile
And so quick!
