Can I ask all the ladies who have got passed 10 weeks if they have had any chemical pregnancies whilst on dr s's plan? I am still deciding whether to change clinics but if there are success stories of any of you who have had cps but gone on to have a viable pregnancy it may sway me. I am concerned I have got an implantation prob and that he can't treat me.

zooella what's the treatment for hidden chlamydia? I have heard of it but have no idea who even tests for it. Have you had LIT and humira then? Was that with dr gorgy? I have not considered him as an alternative. Not sure I like the idea of ivigs seeing as they are donor blood. Why are you having drips at home before bfp? Was that dr s's idea?

mercator thanks for sending through the PDF to me. Funny enough we are using the same acupuncturist and he also sent me the same doc yesterday. He is the one who suggested I try ARGC as he has had a few clients who have had success there.

Dunnitt · 11/03/2012 10:15

Yey stogan. brilliant news. Well done. Enjoy motherhood.

BellyD · 11/03/2012 10:27

Coconutfeet · 11/03/2012 10:37

Fantastic news Stogan and Mr Stogan! So, so happy for you both. Congratulations. Thanks for coming on and letting us know Mr S. Ooh this has made me a bit weepy. Really looking forward to finding out more when things have settled down.

Digi You realise what this means don't you. You're next. Then me. Eeek!

Sorry to hear so many others are feeling down, Sue, PQ and Euro. It must be so hard deciding on next steps. Can't help you with your query Sue as I was already pregnant when I started the treatment.

Are you feeling better now Free?

Another exhausting day of house hunting yesterday. We've seen a house that ticks a lot of boxes (I don't love it but it's a good size, in a good location, catchment for nice school etc) BUT it has a tiny garden - only 20ft, albeit a bit wider than the average terrace as it has two lots of french windows opening onto it. My worry is that we would outgrow the garden before the house. Decisions decisions.

batteryhen · 11/03/2012 10:41

Oh stogan that is really lovely news :) congrats to you both x

I will check in properly later , just off out for lunch xx

Sue, I had 5 miscarriages last year, 2 of them chem pregnancies. I bled within a week of getting a pos test with one and within 2 days with the other. The other 3 lasted up to 6.5 weeks but had brown cm all along with all of them. So, all early miscarriages.
I'm currently 11.3 weeks on Mr s plan and all smooth so far.
I hope this gives you some help with making your next steps. X x

Also, someone was worried about being sick and taking their pred? I'm getting morning sickness and asked Mr s about my pred and what if I was sick around taking them and he told me if I was sick within an hr of taking them then have more, any later don't worry. I take 25mcg.

I have my 12 week scan at my local hospital in the morning. I'm officially 12 weeks on thursday, can I ask when other preg ladies started to tell people? At the traditional 12 weeks? Earlier? Later? Our parents know and a couple of close friends and I'm torn between wanting to tell and being to afraid to utter the words!! X x

zoeella · 11/03/2012 11:09

Sue:I have copied a link re hidden infections you have to send your menstrual blood to Athens sounds barmy i know! It can all be done via Gorgy. The treatment is antibiotics.

www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=242395.0

Yes we have done x3 LITs and x2 Humira in preperation for our IVF which was abandoned due to overstimulation, so unfortunatly did not know if it would have worked or not! Dr Gorgy prescribed the intralipids from day 10 so before implantation even occurs as i loose my preg so early. I used to miscarry at 6 weeks then 5 now just chemicals! We are going to try IVF again in summer if we dont get preg naturally as i only have 1 tube due to extopic although it is patent. We are under Dr Shehata but i have been seing Gorgy privatly as well just to ensure we have covered all basis!

I am with you on IVIG!

suemays · 11/03/2012 11:29

Zoella thanks for the link. I would have thought I was clear in the chlamydia department as I have a 3 year old with my DH and not slept with anyone else since! Surely that would have caused a problem with her pregnancy if it was an underlying cause? Have you thought about Array CGH with IVF? Duggs is going for that at the moment as it's supposed to help recurrent miscarriage probs. It's knowing which route to take isn't it? Doesn't Dr Gorgy do the same tests as Dr S? I was wondering why you were seeing both?

Hopeful were you under Dr S's plan when you had the miscarriages/chemicals last year or was that before?
I would wait until the nuchal scan results to officially announce it.

Pebbles73 · 11/03/2012 12:44

Many congratulations to the Stogans it must be amazing to have finally made it and hold your daughter in your arms. Grin.

Big hello to everyone else, have been lurking even though not posted for a while. I am generally sticking to the super ov thread as generally seems more relevant for me but wish everybody luck with their pregnancies or getting their bfp's. I tested yesterday at 11dpo and got a bfn so will test again Tuesday and then sto the pred.

FrozenNorthPole · 11/03/2012 12:57

Congratulations Stogan and Mr Stogan and thank you for the update. The beginning of an amazing journey for you all Grin

lemonsherbet · 11/03/2012 13:27

duggs1976 · 11/03/2012 14:06

Fabulous our first pred thread baby girl Grin

hopefulfor2nd · 11/03/2012 14:19

Sue, yes all the miscarriages were on our own. After the 5th one and all nhs investigations saying I was fine we decided to see Mr s. I started his treatment plan in Jan and here we are x x

picolina123 · 11/03/2012 15:16

congratulations stogan you must be glowing with happiness!

suemays · 11/03/2012 17:22

hopeful thats what I am afraid of as I dont know of anyone who has lost more than one pregnancy on Dr S's plan. I have had 2 chemicals since being on his plan as all my 4 other miscarriages were before I saw him.
Has anyone else had more than one loss with Dr S?

ChoccyPud · 11/03/2012 18:36

Sue I've had a chem and an early mc at ~5 weeks since starting with Dr S

BUT I should add that with the chem, I didn't test when I started bleeding at about 3.5 as just assumed it was AF arriving early, flounced about not having got upduffed that month, and I stopped the Pred. This was before I found this thread and learned about the importance of doing frer tests from 10dpo and not necessarily believing a bfn, and that a fair number of women will have implantation bleeding etc... so I don't count the chem as a Dr S loss, because I didn't do everything I could/should have done to help it along. Not that I regret it, chances were it wasn't viable, and there's no point wasting energy on it now.

Anyway, I hope this helps! He's put you on Hydroxy now too hasn't he, but am I right that you haven't had 6 weeks on it yet? I have to say I've not had so many niggly throats, or a properly snotty nose for AGES so am hoping it is duly modulating my immune system...!

I'd say give things another chance once the Hydroxy has kicked in properly, before you look into what sounds really complicated (and more expensive?).

Talking of costs, I paid £6 for a month of Omeprazole at my local chemist yesterday. Bargain. Not that that's any use to anyone who lives elsewhere! And £10 ish at Lloyds for 3 months Hydroxy.

Comedyworks · 11/03/2012 20:27

Congratulations Stogans - I love this and thought you might like it too ...

You are the poem I dreamed of writing, the masterpiece I longed to paint
You are the shining star I reached for in my ever hopeful quest for life fulfilled
You are my child, now with all things I am blessed

mercator · 11/03/2012 21:06

Sue interesting we have the same acupuncturist. Sounds like you're not far away.

One thought I had was if one was having these problems would intalipids not perhaps help in supressing the NK cells as apparently they supress for about one mth. I'm obviously not qualified but wonded if this question had been asked. Sue I think Snoopy may have also had a couple of chemicals.

hopeful I'm in the same boat had my scan last week and awaiting the results a little nervously due to my age to be honest and worried I'd be high risk. I will have to tell work this week as it is so obvious now that I am pg. I do 't know if it's water retention as baby is obviously still lying low but my boss is in Paris and before the rumour mills starts here in the Uk I am going to have to tell her.

Coconut hope you make a decision re the house - never simple and always a compromise unless your loaded. I've decided I am definitely about 800K short of our ideal home. Wink
