AF 12 days late, pregnancy tests negative

What's going on?

I am TTC my 3rd child.

I have sensitive boobs/nipples (on-off), feel exhausted, nausea, and no period. But I have done 3 tests now, every 3/4 days since period was due, and all have said negative. I even dismantled the plastic case on one test to see if there was a postive line hiding somewhere underneth it... Blush Grin

The only thing I can think is that I got married on the day my period was due. I spent the day willing it not to come. Maybe I wished too hard! Wink

The wedding was very relaxed, I wasn't remotely stressed about it, so I don't think lack of period is stress related. Saying that, I am an emotional wreck at this time of year generally (4 year anniversary of my daughter's death in a few weeks), and I know grief and anniversaries do horrible things to me physically. So maybe it is stress related... sigh It probably is just that isn't it? :(

Additionally, I am breastfeeding, but my son is nearly 3, periods returned aaaages ago. Could I be not ovulating or something because of breastfeeding? We've been TTC for 7 months.

I'd really appriciate any words of wisdom.

I'm in the same position! Been trying for 7-8 months, AF was due on 10th Feb and is normally like clockwork. All pregnancy tests have been negative. I FEEL pg though!

I asked the chemist if I could try a different type of test - she said they're all the same so no point, just wait a bit longer. Life isn't any more stressful than normal (with fulltime work and 16 month DD) so I don't think that's it.

I've booked a doctor's appointment for Friday as it is too odd to go this long without a period and have the tests all show BFN. I hope they can do a blood test or something and put my mind to rest.

Congrats on your wedding. How exciting!

I'm well over a month late and have taken loads of pg tests. I am NOT pg but where the hell is my period!?

Also adding to the metalling, but the chemist wasn't right. Check out this here and here for comparisons of sensitivity on tests. Not all register at the same level, and the digital ones especially can register later than others

I feel your pain! Not had an AF since before Xmas so spent a lot of time POAS, after this failure got some OHP (don't think that's right!?) to see if I was OV and turns out i did actually OV last week, now just a waiting game! I am a total novice so could you share some words of wisdom ladies?! I'm starting to feel insane and crazy ?!

Lions ooh thanks for those links! Am slightly crosseyed with the detail, but just a glance is enough to get the point.

Easier what's OHP? Sorry, know I should look it up. All I can add is that insane AND crazy is where it's at! This whole business is totally absorbing. Which is odd because it's just a matter of waiting, and all will be revealed in the end. I JUST WISH it would hurry up!!!

I'm off to the docs tomorrow morning, trouble is he's a gruff old-school chap and will probably give me a slap on the back and tell me to stop being so silly.

I would love to be pg again ..... FX FX FX

I'm glad other people are as impatient as me though, it brings me comfort!! I meant to write OPK I'm so not down with the lingo, I'm old fashioned when it comes to texting so it's all too much for me!

Eurgh I know the doctors you mean, they're never what you want to hear and offer no warmth what so ever.

Really wish you luck with it.

And yeh that table was really interesting, although that many numbers in one place did confuse a tad! Does anyone have any secrets as to which are best? I've heard Boots and Superdrug ones are actually some of the best?!

Just a bit of info- I've only been TTC for a few months but i feel like its all I think about, and as for this waiting- actual nightmare !!

Ha. GP said he'll refer me for a blood test if there is still no AF (and if pg tests are still negative) in another 2-3 weeks. He said - periods can sometimes be late or missed for no reason (although the most common reason is pregnacy).

He then told me the analogy: finding out you're pg is like looking for a needle in the haystack. If you don't find it, it could still be there but you don't know it is. If you do find it, then it's definitely a needle. !!!!!!!!!!!

So I was half an hour late into work for THAT Hmm

Not the most helpful, just hang on in there I guess, and you're not on your own! Easier said than done but I'm trying to arrange stuff to keep my mind at rest.. But meeting a friend who's 30+ weeks pg later !

With dd I tested negative at 7 days overdue and finally got a positive 12 days overdue. I guess I don't produce much hormone

Finally got AF yesterday. :( But nevermind, at least I know this month isn't the month, and can begin to look forwards!

Meant to say, all my symptoms from before stopped as soon as I posted my OP! Which made me suspect they were in my head... I am going to try not to suspect pregnancy until I get a positive test next time I reckon! Famous last words... Grin

Yeh I think to have an answer is better than not knowing, you have the excitement that you can start all over with a new egg etc. thanks for the info, I've got cramps but they're very AF-like so mine is imminent I am sure! How's everyone else getting on? Any BFPs ladies?

I told myself last time this happened I wasn't doing a test until my period was at least 15 days late .... That didn't last very long Grin

Sad to report, AF arrived this morning - it's going to be a killer, a record 24 days late!!!!

And I had tested earlier this morning as well, so was all ready to report another mystery BFN - but then AF solved the mystery.

Damn.

Oh theresahuppo I am sorry to hear this, although on the positive side it's a mystery answered, and a whole fresh cycle to play with and all new fresh hope etc. try not to be downheartened although you've had a long painful wait- stupid female bodies!! hugs x
