Smacket on, ladies...

PopcornMouseInBoots · 14/03/2012 09:38

Do you need conceive plus, sparkle ? I don't think it's really of benefit unless you usually have a lack of, er, lubrication?

Don't stop smacking til after you get that peak! It sounds like you're nearly there, now!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/03/2012 10:32

Morning Smacketeers

Good luck today Far am brooking no argument.

Pop some people just don't think do they? As long as they're ok, nothing seems to bother them. Is it booking in today? Can't wait to hear all about it.

Sparkle I'm with Pop, unless you really need it, I wouldn't worry about the conceive plus. I know what you mean about needing a break, we have all been there we are still swi every other day just in case

Imps you OH is a sweetie. I also love how you will always be thought of as having buns of steel Grin

Bean I don't have a microwave, but now wish I did so I can try that cake.

Ooh, on the subject of cake, I found another GF recipe Imps here I really want to make it.

I feel really bad, but I can't remember what everyone else has said Blush] I shall go back and read.

Hope you are feeling better Cup and that your wrist is on the mend Stasi

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 10:48

Morning,

I've got so much to read back on, just wanted to say a quick good luck to Far and Pop for scan and mw appointments.

Right I'm going to sit down with a cup of tea and catch up with everyone else Smile

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 10:52

Morning all hope all ok? Anyone want to tell me why on earth I though it would be a good idea to POAS this morning when I knew what the bloody result would be? I'd promised myself I wouldn't do it this month until I was at least a day late and I'm not even due on til the bloody weekend, what a waste of a test Angry

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 10:53

What DPO Scarlett?

OP posts:
ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 10:59

+OPK on Saturday so prob Sunday, so 10 DPO... Not really feeling it this month tbh, despite magic hycosy am very Angry with myself which is not like me and is probably cos I am ratty and pre-AF [needs another Angry ]

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:01

Oh bugger Scarlett. Just too early though, I'm sure.

Maybe how are you feeling today?

Pop hope the mw appointment goes well and you get a scan date soon. Your pg seems to be flying by!

Just popped on quickly to brook for Far today.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:12

I'm trying a new tactic of reading a few posts then replying so I don't forget everything!

Olives sorry to hear about the NK cells but am glad you have something you can treat iyswim. It's understandable that your worried about side effects etc. I think doing the job we do makes us more aware of these things. How are you feeling about it all now?
I was thinking about you the other day as in my new job I work closely with A & E. If we are not busy we have to go work there for the last few hours of our shift. I ended up there on Monday night. It was an eye opener to say the least! Luckily there were plenty of kids for me to help out with as I'd be lost looking after adults Confused

Bartlet I'm a paediatric nurse. Luckily I was seen by the SPR and the consultant. I really didn't want the SHO having a look as well Grin

Btw I'm totally with you about people who post scan pics etc on FB. I've started unsubscribing from the hundreds of pregnant friends on there. On the other hand I have quite a few friends who are pregnant who don't post anything on FB about it. Tis very refreshing!

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 11:12

I would advise that you invest in a job lot of cheap as chips internet cheapies so that you can pee to your heart's content. While it's still a bummer to get a BFN, at least you don't have to be cross about peeing on a fiver (unless you use all of the tests at the same time which really would be foolish behaviour).

Too early Scarlett - it ain't over yet :)

OP posts:
ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 11:13

[puts Angry on hold to send big Grin 's and hugs to far & pop ]

[goes back to being Angry ]

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:27

Oh yes I'm with Imps re the cheapies - it's always worth having a go on a stick when you only paid £3 for 20! I think I may confirm my obvious pregnancy next Wednesday, which is 21.3.12. I like the date!

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:27

Scarlett if the wind changes direction your face will stay like that...

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 11:29

Thanks imps have bought, and can indulge without too much guilt...
Managed to change payment method just in time, don't think that's what OH bought me an Amazon Gift Card @ Crimbo for spending on Blush

You are both right, was too early still have nagging in head that this isn't my month, but hey my birthday is near Crimbo and who wants to lose the spotlight? Will most likely have baby in February along with 101 other family members which already makes the shortest month the most fricking expensive

Just got a letter confirming hycosy results and had to share this sentance with you all:

'There is a slight increase in the pregnancy rate over the first 2-3 cycles after the procedure. I hope you will take advantage of this before we meet again.' What a polite way of saying go forth & multiply Grin

See am Grin ing again! Leads a chorus of 'what do we want? Agreeable peesticks'...

On the FB topic, my former best friend [former for reasons I can't be arsed to go into] is 7 months diffed and apparently posted a demi moore style photo on FB a couple of weeks ago [really needs a puking emoticon]. She's not exactly a small girl to start with [now needs a cruel witchy emoticon]. One of my friends has hidden her updates now, she says it was a step too far...

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:29

Olives as a few other ppl have said, yourself included, the treatment for cleft lip and palate is excellent these days. Its something that still makes me tearful when i see little ones with it as it starts me thinking about how poor treatment was years ago and also about children in developing countries who are not lucky enough to get treatment a lot of the time.

Gah I'm so hormonal, bloody AF!

Maybe are you any better yet? I'm getting worried about you. Don't feel bad about having time off. Your colleagues are jerks if they make you feel bad.

Sparkles I feel your pain! I had iirc 11 days of highs before finally getting my peak last month. MrCupcakes was exhausted Wink I use preseed or conceive plus as during rat smacking times I can't be bothered making sure I'm ready ifykwim Blush

Imps are you enjoying having the house to yourself?

Bean GrinGrin am loving your DS's tricks. I guess you can't leave him alone for a second. Well done on the swimming.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 14/03/2012 11:35

Scarlett sorry about the BFN, it's just way too early. My positive last month would have been at about 16 dpo.

btw my mum told me she knows I will get a BFP this month Grin her logic is that she always struggled ttc and the only month she ever got diffed was in march. Now who can argue with that kind of logic?! This is MY (and all of ours) month Grin

PopcornMouseInBoots · 14/03/2012 11:35

I'm now MW-approved! :o

Scan should have been booked by the GP apparently, so she'll sort it tomorrow for some time before the end of the month (yay)

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 11:45

Yay Pop you are a PSEAMWAPP (pee-stick-endorsed-and-midwife-approved-pregnant-person)!

farfallarocks · 14/03/2012 11:53

thanks for the brooking everyone, why oh why did I not book a 9am scan, I have learnt my lesson for next time, waiting is utter torture.
Have convinced myself last night it was all doomed I have woken up feeling really really positive today, let's hope it lasts!

Lots of brooking vibes for 345pm please :)

scarlett definitely too early%
pop great news about cool midwife appointment and scan coming up, that has gone quickly hasn't it?

facebook - I don;t get it at all, why would you do that, I would be way too supersticious at any stage I am afraid. And Demi Moore style photos, blerugh.

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 12:09

Oh Far what a long time for us you to have to wait! I hope it flies by and you have a lovely, lovely scan this afternoon. At least you can go straight home afterwards (can you?).

farfallarocks · 14/03/2012 12:19

Yes I will although I have a work dinner tonight so will either be skipping off to that and wondering how to hide the non drinking or at home wallowing but I am brooking no argument it will be the first scenario.

On a separate not I have no idea how I will stay awake for a dinner as I was in bed at 830 last night Shock

ScarlettInSpace · 14/03/2012 12:33

far can you have a little nap when you get back from the scan? So long as you have a half full glass of wine in front of you, no-one tends to notice much if you are really drinking the water Wink

GenericDietCola · 14/03/2012 12:47

Far will the work people at the dinner know you had a medical appt this afternoon? If so, you could say you went to the dentist and they have prescribed antibiotics for an infection. Otherwise, I second Scarlett's suggestion.

Pop that's great news!! So excited for you!

Far you're going to be great at 3.45. I second Scarlett and Generic with regards to the dinner.

Sorry about the BFN Scarlett it's only a matter of time before you find an agreeable pee-stick Smile

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone. My colleagues are total jerks, just got an incredibly arsey email off of one of them because I forgot to cancel a room booking I had made. I think I might jut force myself in tomorrow, it really isn't worth the stress this is putting me under by not being in. It seems like it is better to be ill at work, than getting better at home.

Hope you make the afternoon Sparks Smile

Imps7 · 14/03/2012 13:37

Oh. My. God. Seriously Maybe?? You forgot to cancel a room booking? You forgot??? You actually FORGOT?? No wonder your colleague is pissed off - I mean, surely you can't be surprised that they have arseache about something as serious as that. It's a sackable offence in these parts. You're on a slippery slope, I'm sorry to say - today it will be forgetting to cancel a room booking, tomorrow it will be drugs, alcohol and petty crime.
