I once had to advise a bus company on the dismissal of an employee who was caught pissing up the side of his bus (he was the driver). Happy days, those.

Cannot believe that Whims has seen Maybe's DH's bottom! What a small world.

Hope doggy is still chilled out Cupcakes :)

Bus garages, eh? Never pegged those for interesting events. How wrong can I be?!

BTW anyone else watching Whitechapel? I'm really enjoying it. Although I'm trying to work out how Rupert Penry-Jones set my pants on fire in Spooks, yet here is leaving me totally cold Confused.

beangrower · 28/02/2012 14:20

Ooh - yes enjoy a bit of Whitechapel when I get the chance. I think RPJ still has a little something to give the housewife a reason to change her knickers. (Sorry. Yuk!) But you have to like the preppy type which actually I can't usually stand. He just has such amazing skin and a v kissable cake-hole.

Imps7 · 28/02/2012 14:29

Smegs - going off someone you used to fancy = preggo symptom. That's official.

Afternoon all, how are we diddling?

stasi there is a fred somewhere in here by a woman whose wrist aches when she is diffed Hmm

far glad to hear results so far are good and this one is doing a good imitation of treacle Smile

[ps, what does PSEPP stand for, I?ve been trying to work it out and I?m not even going to tell you all some of phrases I?ve come up with!]

smegs glad to hear things are moving on for you and about OH?s SA ? we are waiting for my OH?s results as we speak and I?m sure he will strutting like a peacock when they come back [indulgentrollingeyessmiley]

popcorn why have you put Boots on? I?m glad you told your mum Grin

generic I don?t really understand mc rules but having to wait for a 3rd just to get investigated seems pretty ludicrous to me?

cupcakes I suggest hiding behind the sofa with a big stick to beat AF if she even tries to get in Grin

maybe am impressed at your famous man bum, I would definitely be trying to get a paparazzi style shot of it if I was you, could be worth £200 in Heat magazine!

beedle & bean the boobie babes lol, keep us updated on size and strength of soreness if you please so we can spot the right symptoms ourselves when required!

whim not sure you should be boasting about husbands hobbit feet haha!

Sorry if I've missed anyone, hugs to everyone else [and thanks for the preggo rubbing on the last pasge Grin ]

Well we got round to watching the first 2 episodes of Inside Men last night on sky+ and it was really good! Looking forward to the second 2 eps tonight!

Now then, I?m sure there was something I was doing today that I needed to tell you all about this afternoon?..

Ah yes, my hycosy Grin well... it's bloody uncomfortable! But sooooo worth it...

The gynae showed me my bad side first, as expected no tube due to the rupture/removal 14 years ago. Not as expected however was a teeny tiny right ovary, he described it as post-menopausal [I'm only 35 Sad ] and basically not functional, looks like it was damaged irrevocably during the ectpoic surgery all them years ago, he thinks they probably accidentally stopped the blood supply and killed it.

Anyhoo, onto the good side and it is good Grin Grin Grin I was sooo pleased to see my good tube looking incredibly tubelike and healthy and the dye passed through easily & quickly. The left ovary is a good size, and the gynae could see 4 or 5 well developing follicles. My womb lining is a good thickness too. No signs of scarring, damage or endometriosis.

Bizarrely it is actually a good thing in one way about my right ovary, as because its pretty much deid the pituary gland will, more often than not, now apparently select the left ovary to release its best effort most months, so this increases my chances of being realistically fertile each cycle.

Negative is that my egg reserves [which are already dwindling cos I'm 35] have been halved, so I shouldn't expect to produce a football team, but he thinks 1 or 2 should be more than possible. Keep shagging he said [he did ask if we could wait til we got home tho cos apparently the hospital frown on dtd onsite lol].

I can't put into words how relieved I am, I don't think I'd really admitted to myself how scared I was. So, onwards and upwards, the gynae flushed a load of extra dye through the tube [which really hurt!] and said to go for it like the clappers for the next 2 months Wink

Sorry for big old mememe post but glad that's all over and I can get back to rat smacking like everyone else without this silliness hanging over my head.

PopcornMouseInBoots · 28/02/2012 15:02

Just a quick quicky as I'm mega busy today :)

Cupcakes I'm sorry it's happening to you too, it's really shite. Thing is, I bet I'm flavour of the month again when I pop one out (esp when on maternity leave, and available for aforementioned zoo trips 24/7) but even that makes me :( as I feel like my "value" as a friend depends on my fertility??

:o Imps don't be silly, I knew what you meant! :)

Scarlett that's really good news, I'm so pleased for you. What a weight off your shoulders! And that bfp will be imminent, now you've had a wee clear out Wink Your doctor sounds really funny :o

I loved The Tube, it's voiced by the guy from The Mighty Boosh though and I have trouble taking him seriously. I expect him to break out into a crimp any moment :o

whimsicalname · 28/02/2012 15:27

Great news, scarlett. What a clever ovary to be taking up the slack like that.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 28/02/2012 15:28

Scarlett that is fantastic news about the good clear tube. Now get smacking that rat my lovely. PSEPP stands for (I think anyway) pee stick endorsed pregnant person. We needed to distinguish as we are all preggo in here, we are just waiting for those pesky sticks to agree Grin

CupcakesAndCocktails · 28/02/2012 15:31

Oops posted too soon. I know what you mean Pops the minute I reproduce I'm sure I'll become more interesting to them. Which is a bit insulting really. Obviously not everyone is like that. 4 girls at work are on mat leave at the moment and a lot of us meet up every couple of weeks whether we have kids or not. Which is really nice actually.

farfallarocks · 28/02/2012 15:37

scarlett wey hey for tubelike looking tube and wonderful lining etc

Your BFP is assured!!!

Stasi · 28/02/2012 16:26

Scarlett excellent news from your Hycosy. I think it probably is a good thing your second ovary isn't working. I spent my lunch break reading about tubes and fertility, and saw lots of references to the remaining ovary releasing an egg every month in place of the random selection when you have two.

It worried me a bit tbh, because i was counting on there being at least one good-side egg release for me in the 3 months post HSG, and there may be none at all :( I also think there's quite a high chance i'll be sent down the ivf route now, as it seems to be recommended over tube repair. Still not clear on if one or both sides needs to be blocked. Will have to wait and see.

beangrower · 28/02/2012 16:29

All sounding good. Gonna take our woofter for a walk -it's been a long day at the computer and more work necessary tonight. TTFN folks.

Stasi · 28/02/2012 16:31

Just remembered far you asked who I met with - was a graduate from the 10+ TTC thread. Not sure if she was on any other threads, i didn't know her as a poster, but she recognised me as a friend of a friend and got in touch.

Long term TTC can make beautiful babies, if she was anything to go by. Also a very clam and contented 'easy' baby, who didn't cry in the whole 3 hours we sat chatting!

GreenOlives · 28/02/2012 18:01

Smegs I love Whitechapel and RPJ still does it for me even with his geeky OCD behaviour! Grin

Scarlett, excellent news on the good looking tube front - get on with the SWI now my lovely and that BFP will be yours!

Biscuitsandtea · 28/02/2012 18:03

What's whitechapel about?

ScarlettInSpace · 28/02/2012 19:42

Thanks everyone, OH is pleased we are prescribed lots of shagging...

stasi it's so easy to read stuff online and scare yourself silly, until today I'd decided that whatever caused the last tube to go so spectacularly wrong had ruined the other one too, and no way did I expect a defunct ovary to be a good thing! 12 hours ago I would've bet my salary we were heading straight to IVF without passing go so don't let yourself get too down about things you don't yet know about iykwim

Loopyhasanotherbean · 28/02/2012 19:48

biscuits whitechapel is about murders now, that are sort of copycats of murders from years gone by, you can catch them on the itv player if you are quick, there have been 2 two parters so far, and the 3rd one started last night. I really enjoy it and recommend it. Main character is not my cup of tea in the fancying the pants off him way though, but each to their own :)

good news re hycosy scarlet.

and keeping things crossed that your bean continues to stick far

ScarlettInSpace · 28/02/2012 19:49

And ps/ as much as there might be no chance of an egg popping right in 3 cycles, there's thd chance that all 3 could be whizz poppers lol

SweetieDoesIt · 28/02/2012 20:06

Waves to all
Have been very busy in RL, have been reading all the posts just not had chance to write any messages.

Scarlett sorry to hear the procedure was a bit unpleasant but at least it has confirmed some positives. You go girl and in no time will be announcing what we already know Wink

Far those blood results are looking good, are you getting on ok with the meds?

Whims brooking that everything resumes to normal for you and it is all A-OK for a little US of A bubster.

Pops how are things coming along with the little kernal? How are you feeling? Any of the "symptoms" we so love to spot? I must have missed the name change reasoning???

Cup I also have an extreme fear of the whole giving birth but will cross that bridge if when we get to it, although I have already asked DH how he feels if I have ELCS. Blush

Bean how is your young man coming along? any signs of the terrible two? prob not at just a week in and you book is coming along great guns too.

Maybe poor you, poorly again. You have been so unwell for ages now. Big hugs to you my dear Thanks

Am 10DPO according to FF, I think I may be only 9, having no symptoms, no sore boobs, not tired, no cramping.Hmm Am sure it isn't our month but holding out for next cycle as we will be on holibobs at the prime time. Grin Well planned by me GrinGrin

Imps7 · 29/02/2012 06:56

Morning to all smacketeers! You're all looking lovely this morning.

Scarlett that's really good news that you have a tubey tube and an ovary-y ovary. Just a matter of time now!!

I've not heard of Whitechapel! I barely watch tv though - the only things that I like to see are OBEM, Great British Bake Off and Saturday Kitchen. I used to watch Masterchef a lot, but have gone off that a little bit now - it's a bit samey and John and Greg irritate the buggery out of me.

How are you feeling today Maybe? I'll make up a batch of Thai chicken noodle soup for you if you like.

Speaking of which I made Singapore Style noodles from Chinese Food Made Easy last night - it was v nice, but there was so much of it! The recipe was supposed to serve two, but OH and I had two fairly hearty portions and there was at least the same amount left over! At least that's lunch sorted for the next couple of days.

Where are you going on your holibobs Sweetie? Are you staycationing or vacationing? Very well time holiday, but you won't need to worry about timing since you are already 100% deffo up the duff.

I have a sore throat, stuffy nose and high temperature this morning - this can only mean that I am coming down with a cold pregnant. Hurrah for being pregnant!

GenericDietCola · 29/02/2012 09:08

Hi y'all!

Scarlett that is wonderful news re your tube and ovary! Hopefully the flush-out will result in a BFP this month! Was it an EP that damaged your other tube? Apologies if this is insensitive or you've already said.

Bean, Smegs and Green I love Whitechapel too and have to admit RPJ does it for me too. Not my usual (fantasy) type at all, I usually go for a bit of rough, but there's something about him. The programme is great too. Was there an earlier series, or is this it? We've only just discovered it.

Imps where are you in your cycle? Those symptoms sound like sure fire preggo signs to me!

Sweetie I wondered where you'd got to! That AF won't dare show her face, you mark my words.

Cupcakes how's your dog? And did you PIAR this morning by any chance?

Far I will be brooking all goes well with your hCG and prog test today. How do you feel now?

Went to the cinema last night to see 'The Woman in Black' - oh my, what a scary film! Me and my friend were jumping out of our seats! We came out and checked the certificate and it was a 12 - must be becoming a wimp in my old age!

beangrower · 29/02/2012 09:56

Grin at GenericWimp Smile I prefer a bit of rough too.

Cupcakes - are you are next BFP?

And then Imps (hope you don't get poorly btw, girl).

Feeling v odd today. Some v sad news yesterday eve - someone I know lost their 30yo granddaughter to suicide on Monday. Can't even imagine what they're all going through...

And my childminder announced her pg - despite several times telling me she was not interested in having more (has a 5yo DD). I was very lovely about it, but of course it kind of hit me at bedtime (as these things seem to do) and I couldn't sleep - with that and the other news. Sorry - feeling a bit sad. Hormones playing me up a bit at the mo'.

Hugs to all you lovely brookers.

whimsicalname · 29/02/2012 10:02

Gosh bean. Either of those would be bad, but both together must leave you with lots of head spinning. Hope you're okay today, although I imagine you'll be tired, and that will make everything seem worse.

I've got MASSES of work to do, so will get on with that, and I'm grumpy because I'm doing cabbage soup diet. When I sit down, my tummy sits on my lap, and I'm hoping cabbage soup will knock it into touch.

I am, however, prepared to share

Imps7 · 29/02/2012 10:20

Oh Bean. How sad re: the girl who took her life. It's incomprehensible how some people's brains can lead them to such a dark place.

Re: your childminder, tough news to swallow. I wonder though if she may have had TTC woes of her own though? I tell people all the time that I don't want children to lessen their expectations of an announcement and the pressure that goes with it. Plus a 5-6 year gap between siblings is quite a lot (not necessarily a bad thing though, of course). Oh how I wish it was not taboo to ask people their TTC story - I'd love to hear more stories in real life about happy endings.

Generic - BOO!!! I'm on 4 DPO methinks - only another 10 days until my BFP!

farfallarocks · 29/02/2012 11:56

Brookers, your brooking is working

HCG 600 which is more than double, I could cry with happiness, obviously very early days but going in the right direction :)

Catching up with the thread now......
