Well Whims - like you say it's only been 7 months or so for TTC no. 4 and perhaps recovery is a bit slower this time around. It just seems odd that your cycles are different - given that they went back to normal between other pgs... But I don't want to be a doommeister. You will know for yourself when you're ready - if it ever comes to that - at least for a chat with the GP.

Cups - meant to say it's sounding v promising.

Hurray to a lovely weekend Olives.

Stasi · 27/02/2012 13:58

Afternoon. My aching hand/RSI has kept me off the computer all weekend, and has me doing one finger typing today! So messages will be quite short till i get it sorted.
Shag week has just come to an end here, with a second temp rise. Hopefully it wont make this 2ww much more mental - i'm either 4 or 1 DPO today. With either an earlier or later than usual ovulation.
Also met up with the MNetter and her baby yesterday. Was lovely to get cuddles and talk to a longer term TTCer with a positive story.

Its taking me forever to write this, so very quick name check:
far brooking for you that everything is fine. Being told not to worry is probably much like being told to relax while ttc. Something to help you deal with the worry is a good idea though. Hope the wait for your results goes by quick.
Pop hope the bad weekend is being followed by a good Monday.
Whim sorry you've had a wtf cycle.
Maybe if you get your AF this month, can you not take antibiotics in the non-fertile bit of the month?

Too much aching, no more typing! Will try to keep up with short posts until things improve. Waves to all, and a plate of 'homemade' but purchased from a shop biscuits for all.

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 14:10

Green just a quickie - do you know the possible causes of rmc when you have also had a healthy child? I have started wondering if there could be an underlying cause for my 3 mcs (all mine have been mmcs). What would your steroid treatment be for? Glad you had a lovely weekend and got thoroughly spoiled.

beangrower · 27/02/2012 14:12

Just wanted to tell you that my boobles are killing me. How can this be at only cd16?!

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 14:18

Bean, do you really have to ask? Wink

Poor you and your hand Stasi! Is that something you've suffered from before?

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 27/02/2012 14:52

Generic, this is a very good link which explains all the different reasons. I think the reasons can be similar for MC with a 1st m 2nd or 3rd although often with immune issues, it is triggered by a first pregnancy.

There are 2 documents - causes and tests and treatments. I think its one of the most comprehensive.

www.obstetrics-gynaecology.co.uk/cgi-bin/download.cgi

bean you are sooooo updiffed. Here is hoping both you and whim have nothing wrong at all.

scarlett best of luck with your appointment tomorrow

Doc just called with HCG results from this morning (apparently they say 2 days but they get the results 4 hours later!)

HCG 239
Progesterone 147

Which apparently is really good for 3+6 weeks or 4 weeks exactly depending on when I ovulated.

Big test will be Weds then although at least I know I will get the results sharpish. I love that man (obviously not as much as my DH) he is so kind and reasurring. It would be really nice if for once my body was growing not killing off a baby!!

Biscuitsandtea · 27/02/2012 14:59

Great news on your HCG results Far - keeping everything crossed or Wednesday for you xx

Stasi · 27/02/2012 15:04

The RSI is new. Im not even sure that's what it is, but its pain that gets worse when i try to use a keyboard or mouse. Have requested new ones from work. Im worried it could also be some kind of arthritis, as it hurts lots when cold. :(

farfallarocks · 27/02/2012 15:16

Oh stasi you poor lamb, sounds awful, can you go to the docs? Here is hoping shag week has worked its magic on you :)

thanks biscuits, am back to brooking :)

beangrower · 27/02/2012 15:21

Oh Far that's excellent news; you must be so pleased. Keep upbeat and that lovely bean will stay on the go IYKWIM - especially with a really good bit of medical support on your side. Smile

Stasi - sounds rotten. It's most likely RSI given your line of work. My ex of many years ago tried Indian club swinging to sort out RSI! Confused

Yes, yes - I wish the sore boobles was a guarantee but it's been the same the last few months. I think the acu' and herbs have made me v ready for a pg it's just getting the egg fertilized that we need to sort. I'm fortunate that I don't seem to have anything odd going on with my periods/cycles - all pretty regular and ov seems pretty predictable. Still - that magic moment is going to happen soon. As it is for everyone on here.

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 15:33

Eeek there is a PSEPP in labour as we speak!! Exciting stuff!

Far, absolutely fab news on the test results! Come on little Farfette, you can do it!

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 27/02/2012 15:58

Hi everyone! I've not really had a chance to catch up yet, will do that later but would be nice if someone could give me a quick precis of the last month?! Hint, hint Wink. I promise to read up on everyone's news as soon as I can. And who's in labour?!

But Far! What wonderful news! Am so ruddy happy for you, and those test result sound absolutely fantastic! Fingers, toes and all other appendages crossed that all continues to be well for you and Farfette.

I'm over the worst of the jet-lag but my kitchen is still not finished so am surrounded by kitchen equipment and assorted culinary crap in my living room. Great. However, it will all be over soon and it will be beautiful. I hope.

And... I had my booking-in appointment at the fertility clinic this morning. The nurse was fab, got a scan arranged for next week to check out my odd cycles and ensure that I don't have anything obviously untoward going on. Plus blood tests and an AMH test and HSG due as well. Just feel so relieved that it's all moving on now. Bizarrely I've been put down as trying for 2 years, as we haven't been using contraception since DD was born. I didn't like to say that due to PST after DD's birth we weren't actually having sex, but I suppose that doesn't matter Smile.

Love and hugs to all,

Smegs x

ScrambledSmegs · 27/02/2012 16:00

Oh, and DH has exemplary sperm, so the problem is quite clearly not with him. He's inordinately proud of his results, bless Grin.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 16:23

Far that's fab news, role on Wednesday I say Smile

Stasi you poor love. I hope your wrist feels better soon, how annoying for you.

Smegs great to have you back (though I bet you wish you were still away Smile ) Pomme is in labour!! She is being induced! It's great you were made to feel so positive by the clinic. I am brooking that everything will be fine and dandy for you. And well done DH Wink

Bean your boobs excite me. The soreness that is Grin

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 16:25

Far thanks for the info - I will read it later. So glad you have such brilliant results. We are all behind you, brooking like mad!

Stasi that sounds nasty. Hope it's something mild and rights itself rather than arthritis.

Imps who's in labour? Must make time for MN tonight to lurk over there!

Welcome back Smegs. Shame kitchen not finished yet, but hurrah re good appointment and exemplary sperm! That's one thing you don't need to worry about at least!

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 16:25

Maybe you wit!

scarletfingernail · 27/02/2012 17:05

Just nipping in to offer Far my congratulations. I'm so pleased for you and of course it goes without saying that I'm brooking like mad for you. Today's results sound very positive and I hope Wednesday's will help put your mind at rest a little.

at Maybe getting excited by bean's boobs Grin

My typing skills have deteriorated on hols, evidently. I had PTSD after DD's birth, not PST, whatever that is. And don't be worried if you are trying for your first, it wasn't particularly 'bad' really, I am apparently just a big wuss Hmm

hollibobs were amazing. I want to go and live there. It is the most beautiful country I've ever been to, and the people are absolutely lovely.

GreenOlives · 27/02/2012 18:40

Yay for good holibobs and for good appt Smegs Fingers crossed kitchen will be finished soon too.

The stuff that Far linked to explains everything really well Generic. I am waiting for my test results for Nk cells which if positive would be treated by taking steroids from ovulation until next AF or if BFP then taking them for about the first 12-16 weeks of pregnancy. As much as I don't want anything to be wrong it would at least explain my losses and there are a lot of good results for ladies on the steroid treatment so part of me wants to have high levels so I can at least do something IYSWIM? It's definitely worth looking into so that you are armed with some background knowledge if you do decide to get some tests done.

OMG Pops Hadn't even thought about the fact that my DS is physical proof to my dad that his beloved daughter is not a virgin! Shock Grin

Sore (.) (.) = preggo bean FACT!

Great numbers Far, this nonchalant bean is a sticky one I'm sure of it! Not long until Wednesday and I'm brooking hard for a nice doubling of the numbers!

I have just been a total witch to DS Sad He has been potty trained since last April/May time but poos have always been an issue (he mostly does a skid in his pants which we notice the smell of and then make him sit on the toilet to perform) This is way better than the withholding or full poos in pants that we got to start with! Wees have been pretty good right from the start though with very few accidents - HOWEVER, over the last few days he has been holding them for 6+ hours then doing a dribble in his pants before shouting "I've wet myself" then dashing off to finish in the toilet. It is sheer laziness/distraction on his part - he doesn't ever want to leave what he is doing! Consequently I am washing lots of pants/trousers! I just lost the plot when he did during dinner when I had asked him just 5 mins before whether he needed a wee and he said no! I feel like a very bad mummy for shouting but I am starting to worry that he is off to school in September and this toilet training lark should be well sorted by now! Conception thread is not really the place for all this kinda ranting is it?! But if any of you who already have LOs have any advice it will be gratefully received! Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 20:45

Oh Olives you rant away lovely. I have no advice to offer. Toilet training a puppy I would imagine is completely different to a toddler Grin

When do you expect your test results to be back?

Smegs you are not a wuss at all. Was your labour very long?

Sorry to her about your friends Pop they obviously don't deserve you Smile But hurrah for sharing your news!! Your Mum and Dad must be over the moon! And it must have felt lovely to actually tell someone (other than us of course Wink )

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 20:55

Pop your friend sounds a bit silly and short-sighted. I hope you are OK about it. Hurrah re telling your mum!

Green and Far thanks for the rmc advice. I have been burying my head in the sand thinking it may just be bad luck and also consoling myself with the fact that I have DD ie I did it once. Anyway, it's time to think about what we might do if I get pregnant and have another mc. DH is not keen to keep trying, but I know I will want to at least have tests. My gut feeling is that mine have been chromosomal abnormalities as they have all stopped developing very early. I don't think it can be NK cells or similar as my body never actually gets rid of them. This may be total bollocks though. Green I totally understand the desire to find something wrong that can be treated! If there was a treatment that would improve your chances of a healthy DC2 then of course you would want it. No advice re potty training I'm afraid, except that you are only human and it's normal to get frustrated at times. We are just starting DD at 2.5 - at the moment she is resisting going on the potty (even thought she has used it a lot before) - she doesn't want to make the transition to 'big girl pants'.

ScrambledSmegs · 27/02/2012 21:46

No, not really. 27 hours all in, but I was asleep for about 9 hours of that. The birth itself was ok, apart from the fact that the midwife I got on the night shift didn't listen to me and gave me a massive epidural top-up which was not what I wanted. DD was ventouse thanks to her. I was meant to be on a 'walking' epidural! It just went a bit to shit afterwards, and I ended up in surgery with a retained placenta, and the aftercare was quite frankly appalling. The idea of anyone going near my foof after that made me go into spasms for ages!

I have a lovely DD though, and I've now gained the ability to tell medical personnel to fuck the fuck off if absolutely necessary!

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 21:54

Olives, my friend has used a Potty reward chart for her first two - if they use the potty/toilet "properly" they get to stick a sticker on a wall chart which they made, and when they get a certain number of stickers they get a treat - a day out, or an ice cream or (their favourite one) - a disco in the lounge (basically just playing pop songs in the lounge with the light off!). That seems to have worked as both were trained quite easily...they are both girls though who I think are supposed to be easier to train than boys (although I don't really have the slightest clue in this respect).

Pops, your friend sounds like a moron (sorry). I have to say that I find that my friends with children still really like coming to visit - I think it might have something to do with the fact that OH and I play with their children during the day, then once the kiddiwinks are asleep, there's dinner and wine waiting for them downstairs!

Smegs - geesh - you poor thing. Sounds utterly horrific. I have to say that I'm not so worried about giving birth, but then I've always been a naive fool! So glad it didn't put you off trying again.

Oh, and so pleased to hear you had a fab hols, although drat and darn it about your kitchen. Has there been a problem, or have things just overrun?
