little and duke really sorry about AF, grim.com and duke sorry that your DH is not around, is he working away?

Hello to all the old brookers, scream and hawthers and everyone else, thanks for popping in!! I am not brave enough to join you yet!

What happened on your weekend pop?

Injections going well so far, mentally though I freaking out. Lines are getting nice and strong but my boobs don;t hurt at all, I have cramps and last night and this morning I had a bit of brackish discharge. I can;t really even describe it as brown spotting but this is how it all started last time. I know it could be normal but it also could be the beginning of the end again and I find myself veering from positivity that it will all be ok to total despair. I would quite like to be knocked out for the next 8 weeks :)

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 09:41

Far sorry you are freaking out. Will you be seen by anyone before your first scan? Any chance to talk about what is happening to you?

Biscuitsandtea · 27/02/2012 09:45

Farfalla - just poking my head in to offer a heap of brooking for you my lovely. I can't imagine how stressful it must be for you. Those lines are nice and strong and I'm hoping they stay that way. When is your scan my love?

farfallarocks · 27/02/2012 09:45

Hi generic I went in to have HCG levels done this morning and will go back in Wednesday which I hope will give me a steer on what is happening. But its doing my head in, I might go and get some rescue remedy!!

whimsicalname · 27/02/2012 09:56

Morning all.

Hope you've all had great weekends. Well done with your allotment maybe. We used to have one but it was all a bit too much and we gave up on it had it confiscated by the council I think we've still got a load of seeds knocking about though. Would you like them? pm me your address and I'll bob them over. Likewise anyone else green fingered. We did grow some in the garden last year, but won't be bothering this year, what with impending departure and all.

It sounds like you had a lovely day out too bean. Very restorative!

Far Try not to stress! Clearly easier said than done. Do you work? (I'm sorry, I can't remember) Or can you curl up at home with a box set of something not too demanding and some knitting? Keep your mind off things.

I had a bit of a funny one really. Had an ok day on Friday, and then was very very excited to see some red blood in cm on friday evening. I was so excited I almost turned the computer on to come and tell you. I was convinced it was implantation bleeding, as 6 days before AF due, and not like how it usually starts. Needless to say, by Saturday, it was just full on bleeding.

This seems to be a pattern I'm settling into: 2 months of normal 31 day cycle, and then a 24 day implantation bleed type one. I think this is the third time it's happened now, and it's all a bit depressing.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 09:56

Oh Far I am so sorry you are worrying, it must be so stressful. Definitely go and get some rescue remedy. And a nice hot chocolate.

Sorry to hear your weekend was poo Pop I would like the sun back too.

Cup I am keeping everything crossed for you. Step away from the pee sticks and get yourself a hot chocolate too. It cures all ills.

Generic it was a very satisfying day, though I do ache a bit today Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 10:00

Sorry, cross posts Whim What is going on with AF? Have you spoken to the GP about it?

I would love some seeds if that's ok, I will PM you

I really don't know why I can't get better. I keep setting the fever alarm off on my thermometer. I think I need antibiotics, but GP is reluctant to give me them seen as we are TTC. A holiday would be immense though Smile

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 10:11

Whim my cycle was 22 days this time (due to AF turning up yesterday) - at first I thought that was IB too, but alas it wasn't.

Far I'm glad they're doing hCG levels for you - will you get the results from today on Weds? Rescue Remedy is an excellent idea. Don't worry about symptoms - I don't remember if I had sore boobs or not with DD, but I deffo had them last time along with morning sickness and look how that turned out. I'm just saying that symptoms aren't necessarily a good sign, just like lack of symptoms isn't necessarily a bad sign.

Maybe you need rest and antibiotics I reckon!

My healthy diet is helping even though I'm not pregnant yet as my cold is gone at last and I have lost 3lb in 5 days! I will be waif by Easter at this rate!

ScarlettInSpace · 27/02/2012 10:22

Morning all, hope you are well and ready for a new week!
Can't stop as I'm on my way out to appointment but have had hycosy confirmed fro 9.30 tomorrow so that's good news!
Enjoy the rest of your Monday's and I'll pop back this eve x

beangrower · 27/02/2012 10:29

Maybe - you won't believe it, but I was digging in the allotment yesterday and thought of you!!!! I hope it's not too daunting starting from scratch. We are trying to sort out our wild patch - fruit trees have sent up loads of little shoots, nightmare. And our leaning shed of Newham.... Wink Plus a new holder for the horse-poop. Big plans. Our beans were mostly blighted by frost. But garlic survived. Yay.

At Whitstable, we had traditional fish and chips (DP) and a whole plaice (me, being a bit healthier). DS gobbled loads too. Very lovely place. Recommend it.

Take care - it's rough feeling under the weather all the time. Have you thought about some alternative therapy to boost you?

Have a lovely break Little. BFP-tastic hol coming your way.

Far - it's such a tough time just hold on in there and we're sending an all-powerful brook. Have a holiday, go see your folks, do something a bit reassuring... (though tricky while you are having monitoring)... Good luck on Weds!

Whim - that is a strange pattern. I would try to get that checked out. May be something mucking you around - a little cyst or a fibroid? May be nothing... but you need to know, esp' if you used to get pg easily.

Wow Generic - that's a lot of weight gone. Well done! Keep eating well though - don't undernourish yourself and your upcoming bean.

Pop - what's up hon? Hope nothing to awful. Work is good for us sometimes!

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 10:53

What on earth are all these AFs doing turning up? AF - get the message already - eff off

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 11:04

Ah, Bean thanks for thinking of me Smile It is a bit daunting. At first, we did a lot of standin with our hands on our hips, looking up and down it from different angles Grin then we just bit the bullet and started to dig! It's quite nice that it is from scratch, that way we can take all the glory Wink Sounds like you had a lovely lunch, I haven't had fish and chips for ages!

Imps sounds like you had a lovely weekend, and congratulations to your friends. It's amazing how many people I know that are [regnant/had babies that have struggled. In fact. I think everyone I know has had some sort of difficulty. I have no idea how to grow sweetcorn. I am chitting some seed potatoes at the moment, but I am so impatient that I keep looking at them!

Scarlett brilliant news about your appointment tomorrow. Make sure you let us know how it all goes

beangrower · 27/02/2012 11:11

Good luck Scarlett.

Imps - great that they have got this far after 3.5 years of hell. And so cool that you are such a lovely friend.

Good luck with the 2ww. You're shagtics are similar to mine: -2dpo and eve of O (roughly). Hopefully So we are both onto winners, obviously.

I love the Courtauld and Somerset House. Will head off there next weekend I think; thanks for the nudge.

Sweetcorn is a bugger to grow. It's a wind pollinator so you need lots of them together to pollinate each other. You could try a mini version, might be a bit easier. How about globe artichokes? They look fantastic...

Standing, hand on hips is called the allotment pose, isn't it, Maybe?

BeedleTheBard · 27/02/2012 11:14

sorry about all the AFs turning up - how dare she, hope she soons gets the message to stay away.

far brooking that everything is OK and that its just bean snuggling in and getting comfortable for the next 8 months

bean I lived in Whitstable for a while (a very long time ago), not sure whether I went to that restuarant, but the cinema was good cos you could buy beer at the bar and then take it in with you to drink whilst you watched the film Grin

imps we've grown sweetcorn, its best to plant them in a square rather than a line so that they can fertilise each other. we haven't started gardening yet ( i think the ground is still frozen!)

pop like teh new name - sorry you had a crap weekend

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 11:31

I am loving the sweetcorn tip Beedle- thanks! We have a pollination issue in our garden as we don't have many flowers - this proved disasterous for our courgettes last year - so I'm going to put in lots of marigolds and geraniums among the veg to try to encourage the bees to visit.

Bean, our joint shagtic is bound to work!! There is no other possibility. I'm feeling a lot more hopeful this month than I did last month (within reason). A November baby would be quite nice.

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2012 11:39

Grin Imps 'shagtic' I am so going to use that one. I told DH yesterday, in these exact words: 'your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to shag me everyday this week'. He seemed keen. Top marks for sedeuction me thinks Grin

When I grew chillies and peppers indoors (before the days of the rabbits and puppy) I used to pollinate them bu running my fingers around the flowers. It worked!

whimsicalname · 27/02/2012 11:42

generic, I'm assuming 22 days is unusual for you too? Funny isn't it. In a peculiar way. Definitely not Ha-Ha.

bean I'll give it another couple of months and then see. I'm less than a year back into it after having the last baby, so possibly (wishful thinking) it's just my aging body taking a while to get back into the swing of things. Generally speaking I try to avoid doctors in their professional capacity. (last bit added as parents and best friend are medical docs, and all colleagues academic ones!)

maybe will be in post at the end of the week.

whimsicalname · 27/02/2012 11:43

PS: loving the plant fertilisation tips. If only it was so easy for us.

BeedleTheBard · 27/02/2012 11:43

ooh imps I can help with the courgettes too - last year I artificially inseminated my squash by taking the pollen from the male flowers and poking it into the girl flowers using a cotton bud Grin I think the same should work with courgettes.

Imps7 · 27/02/2012 11:57

See, even plants need human intervention to conceive sometimes! I wonder if there's a SquashNet to help them air their TTC woes?

OP posts:
BeedleTheBard · 27/02/2012 12:08
Grin
beangrower · 27/02/2012 12:21

I once pollinated a whole apple custard orchard using a paintbrush... ah the crazy days of my youth. Confused

Whims - believe me I avoid doctors at all costs (I'm a hippy who thinks you can fix stuff other ways first) but I knew there was something up for us and I was proved right by SA - if I hadn't got the ball rolling at the GPs as early as July last year I don't think we would have found this out for another 6 months which is precious time at my age. But of course you are a bit younger than me. How old is your youngest DS?

whimsicalname · 27/02/2012 12:31

He'll be 2 in June bean. I BF until he was 12m, and I think got periods back about 13m. We pretty much started trying again straight away.

I think, because I've got 3 already, i don't want to start having 'procedures' what with them being costly to the nhs, invasive to me and potentially quite emotionally draining. However, I suppose I'm starting to look at the idea of there being something 'wrong' with me which might impact beyond my reproductive capacity. Scary stuff.

GenericDietCola · 27/02/2012 13:14

Scarlett glad your appointment is booked for tomorrow!

Bean I am eating lots, just healthy stuff but it's nice to have someone looking out for me!

Imps I am brooking that this 2ww will in fact be a 38ww! Great news re your friends.

Whim my cycles are usually on the short side (26 ish days I suppose) but 22 seems too short. Anyway, I found some B6 at home so took a load of those this morning. I think the vit B complex messed up my digestion but the B6 should be OK on its own.

GreenOlives · 27/02/2012 13:47

Boo to AF's, how dare she turn up and try and spoil people's weekend, I hope Imps threats have scared her off now!

Sounds like most of the Brookers had a nice weekend but sorry you didn't Pops and sorry to hear about the throat Maybe, hope it's better today. I had a lovely time away with DH and DS loved his sleepover at Grandma's house! Sounds like he ran them ragged but they love it really I also treated myself to lots of new clothes yesterday in preparation for Spring, I can highly recommend it Generic as an alternative to chocolate/alcohol, although I actually had chocolate and alcohol too - whoops! Wink From this week though it is healthy food all the way, I've decided I really do need to lose some weight as if I do need to have steroid treatment I can't afford to be piling on the pounds without losing a bit first IYSWIM?!

And all this talk about pollination, it's amazing really isn't it? Obviously I know it happens mainly from watching Bee Movie with DS but I hadn't really thought about wind, other plants etc being necessary to ensure nature works! It is so scientific! And you ladies seem to have your own little fertility clinics running in your back gardens/allotments - if only it was that easy to us humans! Grin

Good luck tomorrow Scarlett!
