ok, as the january thread reached 1800 posts exactly, well it did at last count, I think it's time we started the February thread. Now February has lots going for it, valentines, extra reasons for BD, it only has 28 days, the average length of a menstral cycle, .. so me thinks feb will be a very positive month for all of us!

Happy BD to all! (((hugs))) xxx

Peachy I could be wrong but I think that yctopic refers to pregnancy that develops outside the uterus, so although PCM's sister maybe doesn't have tubes, I guess it's possible that embrio could have implanted on the outside of uterus?

Hi, thought i'd wander over from the Fall for Fall thread if that's ok?

Just to update: me 26, dp 35, ttc number 1, m/c 1st Nov 2005 at around 7/8 weeks...

Hope everyone is doing ok this evening, managed to get to the PC as DP's new shiny PSP arrived today so have lost him for the next few nights!!!

Hayls · 25/01/2006 19:07

Evening all, just saying hello. Dd's eye still nasty and now mine are itching... I haven't touched, honest!
Wannabve, I didn't realise you were so close. I live in Glos and used to work in Swindon 2 days a week! Small world, eh?

skerriesmum · 25/01/2006 19:14

Hi all, can I join too, all the way from Canada?
NOBODY knows we're trying so it's nice to tell you even if it's just virtually!
Those who have been trying for awhile, how do you keep things, um, spicy? This is only our second month and dh is already feeling a bit like a stud horse! It took us 5 months for ds 4 years ago.

nowanearlyNicemum · 25/01/2006 19:21

thanks for the welcome....
must stop mumsnetting and get some work done!!
(same old, same old )

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 19:50

Welcome Skerriesmum and Jen - skerriesmum was wondering how you were after your late AF post a while back . as for spicing up things .. well I think that it can be hard sometimes, especially if we usually turn our DH's down fro time to time and then suddenly wish them to perform on demand when we want a baby.

Hales definitely small world, where in Swindon did you work?

wannaBe1974 · 25/01/2006 20:56

Lol Wuzzle, well no such luck here tonight as DH is out with some friends he used to work with and is staying over with one of them as he's out in london and means he doesn't have to come home late to get up early again in the morning. so I'm home alone with just the dog and the cats for company as DS is now in bed.

yes, my sister did have an ectopic. Wannabe is right, what happened was this:
After she had had her egg collection, she resulted in 12 embryos (fantastic result!)
when she had 2 embryos implanted back, after her 2 week wait she was pregnant.
Unfortunately after what was thought to be a good start, she had pains and had to be rushed to hospital. After nearly a full day it was discovered she had been bleeding internally since about 1am that morning. Surgery resulted, what had happened was the tiny embryo had implanted on the scar tissue where one of the tubes had been removed, resulting in an "ectopic". There was no room for the embryo to grow properly because of the minute exact spot where it had implanted. Unfortunately with ivf even when the embryo is fully fertalised(in her case 3days post ov) there is no way the clinic can tell if or where exactly the embryo will imbed.
So after surgery and major blood loss etc, she lost her pregnancy and it was described as "ectopic".
hth x x

pussycatmomma · 25/01/2006 21:13

btw, she has had further surgery since that all happened to kind of "shave" away what was described as the "nub end" of the tubes, so fingers crossed all will be well and good if she is lucky this time x x

peachygirl · 25/01/2006 21:16

Pussycat My heart goes out to your sister and you and your family, what a tragic end to what was happy news. I just cannot start to imagine what she has gone through I'm not really religious but on occasions have been known to light candles. Next time I will light one for her.
Fingers crossed for this time.
I'm here alone with the cat too Dh is at an open evening at work

northerner · 25/01/2006 21:43
