Been ttc for two months now.

AF was due on Monday tested on the Saturday and Monday- both negative. Five days on still no AF :(

What is going on, just feels like my body is playing tricks on me.

Sometimes you just ovulate late and have a longer cycle, it's not that unusual - and 2 months isn't very long at all!!

Have you just come off the pill? That can cause weird cycles for a few months.

Limejelly · 03/02/2012 20:47

No not been on the pill and not usually late. I think Mother Nature is just on a wind up.

I know two months is not along time but doesn't stop me feeling Sad

Hi limejelly
Seeing that - is horrible I know.

Make sure you test again in a couple of days though. A friend of mine who actually was PG didn't get a + result until her 5th week, so you never know! Some people have a lower concentration of hormones than others so its harder to detect.

Are you testing first thing in the morning? Because that's the best time to do it.

In the mean time try to keep your chin up and relax.
I hope you get that BFP your after x

mammyemcbe · 03/02/2012 20:56

It took 2 weeks after AF was due to get a bfp . I'm now 28 weeks , my dates were put back 2 weeks at my dating scan so I must have ovulated late resulting in the bfns . HTH

mammyemcbe · 03/02/2012 20:57

Good luck by the way Smile

ellesabe · 03/02/2012 21:10

I'm in the same boat limejelly so know where you're coming from. I'm on cd31, still no af and still no bfp. My cycles have been all over the place since I stopped breastfeeding though, so I have no idea when af might actually be due. It's just so frustrating not knowing what's going on? I would be interested in trying some of these ovulation sticks that I hear so much about but I have no idea how they work [ignorant emoticon]

Limejelly · 03/02/2012 21:27

I've been thinking about using those too, also no idea how they work!

Just have to sit tight and wait I guess! Thank you everyone for listening Smile

Big hugs limejelly - I know exactly what you're going through! Last cycle AF was two whole -fucking- weeks late. Got through about ten preg tests but all negative!! Was very upsetting as it was our first month TTC.

Just hold tight! My plan was that I was going to make an appointment to see my GP if I ended up being 4 weeks late. Knowing there was something concrete I could do to try to sort out the situation really helped!

I think I actually didn't ovulate that cycle as I got no peak on my CBFM. Also it was the first very odd cycle I had, and the fourth since being off the pill. Angry

shakemyhead · 03/02/2012 21:49

I'm joining you - if that's ok

Now on day 30. Negative poas Haven't been using op. Last 2 cycles were 24 days post Mmc.
Arghhh !

Waiting til Sunday to test again.

No prg or af symptoms. First pregnancy didn't test til 8 weeks as was a happy accident and only tested as got really sore boobs. Now really want a BFP.

jujubean · 03/02/2012 21:53

I did 2 negatives when I was pg with DD2. Can take a while for the hormones to get high enough for the test to detect them. You can get false negatives but never a false positive.

LittlePickleHead · 03/02/2012 21:55

I had a few bfns before I finally got a bfp. Test again in a couple of days if still no af x

Limejelly · 03/02/2012 22:07

I'm going to test again Sunday morning.

Here's hoping I'm the exception and not the rule and I'll be on here telling people about the time I was testing negative while actually pregnant. Smile

Will report back, good luck to my fellow waitees!

shakemyhead you will have to let us know any updates.

It's very frustrating is it not?!

Sunday it is then. Very frustrating I agree.

Treated myself to clearblue. Only two in a box tho.

LivingDead · 04/02/2012 00:48

I was always very regular and then when ttc ds2 had 2 very long cycles in a row for no apparent reason. The first cycle I gave up testing after 7 days, then finally came on 2 weeks after af due. The second cycle I had loads of symptoms when af would have been due, so frustrating because it was a resolute bfn.

Two weeks after af due with the second cycle I felt all faint and odd in a shop and decided to do a last gasp test, which was bfp!

I can only think that I was actually ovulating when I felt all the symptoms in the second cycle when af was due. No idea as to the randomly 40+ day cycles, they have been regular again since having ds2. These things do happen, don't lose heart.

tryingnot2beanxiousbear · 04/02/2012 16:39

Hi, wondered if I could join this one!

We are ttc after me being on the pill (microgynon) for 7 years. I stopped taking it at the end of my last pack and had a normal withdrawal bleed.

Didn't expect to actually start trying this first month, but then I had some spotting on CD13 which I assumed must be an ovulation bleed, and got so excited that we started trying anyway. Anyway, now I'm on CD31 and no period yet. I did have irregular periods before I went on the pill, and a long cycle, although never bothered making a note of 'how long' so can't remember the details!

Did HPT on Thurs which showed no result at all (!!), then got some early pg test sticks off ebay (the 10 microgram ones) which arrived yesterday. Did one last night which showed negative result, and another this morning, also negative. Am really shocked as I've had very mild cramps in womb area for the last 2 weeks, and boobs are swollen and sore - really expected a positive result.

Don't really know what to do except sit and wait for something to happen - can't help but think where is my period though??

shakemyhead · 04/02/2012 18:26

Welome bear.

So tomorrow is d day or should it be pee day.

Wanting some good results.

Nothing is certain til fat lady flows ha ha

Good luck ladies

shakemyhead · 05/02/2012 05:42

Still -ve still no af. Will see again in a week if no af.

tryingnot2beanxiousbear · 05/02/2012 09:39

shakemyhead - sorry you've still got a -ve :( I am going to wait 5 days and test again. Fingers crossed for all of us!

MeconiumHappens · 05/02/2012 11:19

Hi :)
It could go either way really. One cycle i was 5 days late with bfn and af rocked up 5 days late. Another cycle i was 8 days late, had a BFN every single day, then finally a bfp and am now 6 months pregnant! Its not over til the fat lady sings.

Limejelly · 05/02/2012 13:52

BFN!

Now on cd34 so 7 days late. Will try not to test again till next weekend if still no af. Pregnancy tests are becoming an addiction of mine, going to have to start weaning myself off Blush

OP posts:
shakemyhead · 05/02/2012 14:03

Bad news re BFN jelly.

I've had to stop buying pound shop tests. More expensive ones bring out the Yorkshire in me. Helping me wean off them.

tryingnot2beanxiousbear · 06/02/2012 16:49

I did another test this morning too, still -ve :(

This time I really will wait till Thurs - totally agree that testing can become a bit of an obsession.

Is it true that you HAVE to get your period 14-16 days after you ovulate??

MeconiumHappens · 07/02/2012 22:08

Nothing is set in stone. But theres always a chance. Exciting times x
