AF is due next wednesday. Anyone else counting down the days and any symptoms so far??

I've been feeling nauseous today and got very sore boobs but this isn't unusual at all for me the week before I'm due on. The nausea could also have something to do with all the food I have been scoffing Grin

Me!

Due on the wed but I sometimes have a 27 day cycle so will be on tender hooks after the weekend.

No symptoms as such but I'm trying to not look for any as my mind likes to play tricks with me.

ddas · 31/01/2012 07:49

AF due on the 7th and starting to go a bit mad with the waiting and symptom spotting!! feel nauseous like did with ds but I remember that the folic acid tablets have that affect on me as well so likely to be nothing but here's hoping! with ds got a bfp 6 days prior to AF being due so caved in this morning and bfn :( and i couldn't help but feel so disappointed. just need to tell myself that it's too early so there's still hope and try and hold out testing till next week!! fingers crossed for all of us.

ifrustrated · 31/01/2012 09:19

That is FAR to early ddas, I have been guilty of doing it so early as well though Grin

I'm fairly relaxed at the moment, if it does not happen this month we will have to be on hold until next summer as dh will be working away but I'm trying to look at the positives and think of the fab holidays I can squeeze in before having another.

I have a fairly good track record of falling pregnant quickly (when not trying, only dc we planned for took us 4 cycles) so I am sure we will have another dc at some point.

MildredH · 31/01/2012 10:26

Hello!

AF due 5th Feb going by average cycle length ( according to iPhone app anyway Wink )

DH's birthday 6th and going on hols 7th so completely unsure of whether to test. DH thinks we should just wait and see whether AF arrives but I feel like I'd spend the whole holiday popping to the loo "just to see"...!

BFP on his bday would be nice but BFN maybe disappointing.

When did I become this crazy? Conceived first month of trying v soon after we married in Sept but had MC at 10/40. Now seem to have become a conception-crazed lunatic!

Good luck to all x

applepieinthesky · 01/02/2012 20:09

so sorry to hear that mildred. must be awful

fingers crossed for you ifrustrated, hopefully this is your month.

I keep trying to tell myself the same kind of thing - if it doesn't happen for a few more months it will give me more time for holidays/to upgrade my car/put more savings away for when I'm on mat leave etc.

But I just know I will be devastated. We've been ttc our first for 10 months now and each month seems to get harder Sad

piggyboo · 01/02/2012 20:53

AF due the 7th too, gonna test saturday or sunday. Will really struggle not to test friday as well, especially with all the cheapie tests i've got stashed in my bathroom cupboard Blush

applepieinthesky · 01/02/2012 20:58

realistically how soon before a bfp is possible?

OP posts:
cakelover75 · 01/02/2012 21:34

Yep, I'm another who'll be testing next week. My cycles fluctuate between 30 and 37 days so it's kind of hard to guess exactly when I'm ovulating.

This has been our first proper month of trying and I'm soooo impatient already. I already have 1 dd who was conceived in the first month of trying.

Tempted to test at the weekend as I'm going to a 40th birthday party and plan to get boozed up....

MildredH · 03/02/2012 01:48

Thanks applepie it was truly pants but we're excited to be TTC again and hope for better luck this time! What day are you testing? I think they say four days minimum but think that's the swankier tests..

piggy you need to lock up your tests! Don't know about you but I just get so disappointed with every "failed" test.. I used OPK tests for a whole week and just one line every time.. Each one felt like a big fat fail! I try to minimise POAS action these days..

cakelover you're very good- I'm more inclined to do it the other way around- the longer you don't test, the longer you don't know and thus accidental Sauvignon blancs don't count!

Still totally undecided re testing over the weekend/ Monday. Due Sunday.. DH still says wait and see.. Working nights fri, sat, sun so AF will be doubly unwelcome :-(

applepieinthesky · 03/02/2012 13:34

Might see if I can hold out until monday.

I only have cheapy tests from Amazon but if I spot a line I think I would rush out and get a digital one to confirm.

I so don't feel pregnant though.

BFN this morning. Negatives this early don't really phase me mildred i'm only 9dpo. No symptoms here either apple.

coveredinflour · 04/02/2012 10:19

Hello,

My AF due around the 10th Feb so will am planning to test next Saturday or Sun (11/12), unless AF arrives in force before then. Have cycles between 28 - 31 days in length so can't be 100% sure of when would be best. This is first month of TTC #1 so am v new to the whole thing and, even tho I know it is massively unrealistic (especially given v stressful few weeks with hardly any time for SWI), am really hoping that I will be pg... am SS like crazy but don't actually think there is anything concrete.

applepie according the back of my CB test it says that its up to 4 days before AF due BUT only 37% of pg women get a positive at that point, then grows to 55% the next day then 88% until you get to 90-something% on the day AF due. I think it 's just marketing bullsh*t so they can plaster "Test FROM 4 days early" on the kit and get ppl to buy more. So, if you can hold out another few days to when AF due it would probably be worth doing! (Although I'm totally with you on wanting to know NOW)

piggy sorry about the BFN - if AF doesn't show tho it could just be not enough hormones yet to register.

FX'd everyone!

Bimbledorf · 04/02/2012 10:44

Hi everyone can I join in?? We haven't actually been actively trying as such for #3 because we simply can't make up our minds if another is a wonderful idea (youngest is 5 this year). We both think it's a great idea on different days of each month! (apart from last January when we thought we would actually try - but nothing came of it) Anyway we have been using the oh so reliable withdrawal method for the last couple of years and this is the first month that it has occurred to me that I might actually be pregnant! I hadn't thought anything of it till I experienced really bad heartburn a few days ago and have been really burpy! since. Completely unlike me, also coupled with twinges in my abdomen, crazy stabbing pains in my right breast, mild queasiness and googling all that, it does make me wonder!
So AF is due on Weds, I have a FRER and am desperate to use it but think will wait till at least tomorrow to give it a good chance. TOTALLY agree with you applepie that it is all an evil marketing ploy with the tests!

ShowMethePony · 04/02/2012 19:30

I will be testing sometime after Thursday. Nervous!

But I do feel a bit pregnant, deja vu from ds keeps descending about all these little symptoms I'd forgotten about. But if I'm not, it'll be fine as we aren't really in the ideal circumstances and I was so sick last time plus fairly crappy start once ds was born. Really hoping for a different story second time round.

applepieinthesky · 05/02/2012 09:23

Sound's very promising bimbledorf Fingers crossed for you and all the other ladies!!

I think this must be the first time in my life I'm desperate to be ill Grin but still nothing so far.

Surely some people don't get any symptoms at all? Otherwise why are so many people surprised to find out they are pregnant? That's what I'm telling myself anyway!

OP posts:
ifrustrated · 05/02/2012 09:31

I got a bfp this morning 3 days early with a tesco test.

Had a very faint line 2 days ago also with a tesco test then yest I tested with a asda/ eBay cheapie and first responce (Blush) but they were all bfn's so I think tesco are better for a early result.

applepieinthesky · 05/02/2012 10:00

Fabulous news! Congrats!!! Grin

Hopefully this is a lucky thread and will be the first of many Smile

piggyboo · 05/02/2012 10:06

congratulations ifrustrated!

I got a BFP this morning too :D actually i got it yesterday but didn't know, internet cheapie test was negative after 10 mins, I saw it last night on my bedside table there was a faint line but i couldn't trust it as was 14hrs later (and hubby said he couldn't see anything.) Same v faint line this morning on internet test so used a FRER and got a definate but still fairly faint line :)

Looks like this thread is a lucky one. FC for those waiting XX

cakelover75 · 05/02/2012 15:54

Congratulations ifrustrated and piggyboo!
I hope you both have healthy pregnancies.

I felt pregnant a few days ago but the symptoms have gone now. Not sure what my due date is this week so will try and hold off testing till Tuesday (I did a test this morning and it was negative :( )

hellotreeshellosky · 06/02/2012 12:21

Hi all. I don't usually post here but I truly feel like I will go mad this month if I don't offload a bit. I need someone to tell me to step away from the tests!

DS is 2.5 and we haven't taken any preventative measures since he was born, I BF til 18 months but periods came back within a few months of his birth. We have been actively trying for over a year, I have been for blood test and waiting for DH to organise himself for SA.

BUT this month I just really feel we might have cracked it... My cycles are a bit erratic (last was 36 days but usually more like 32-33). I gave up on OPKs but from EWCM I think I ovulated around day 19 this month and there was plenty of well timed SWI. I have had very sore and tingly boobs since about day 23 and that was my first sign with DS and something I don't usually get until a day or two before period.

Today I am on day 26 and I KNOW it's too early but I am desperate to test. I have a First Response that I am saving until Thursday but I need to keep away from the internet cheapies!

Gosh it feels better to write it all down. This is not my regular name BTW, don't really want the people who know me in RL to know all of this.

Congrats to those with their BFPs. And good luck the rest of us!

piggyboo · 06/02/2012 22:20

i know how you feel hello i tested from 7dpo this month with internet cheapies, didn't use my first response until i saw a super faint line on the internet one on 10 dpo. Last month i must have used 10 cheap tests all BFN, not to mention opk's and monitor sticks. In total i must have peed on 50 sticks in the last 3 months.

u would think a bfp would stop the madness but peed on another cheapie today just to check line is getting darker.

In short i feel your madness [hug]

Kelbells · 07/02/2012 06:57

hello and piggy.... Wow.... It's like reading a couple of posts that I could have written myself.... I've been testing on Internet cheapies since 7dpo and quite frankly driving myself really quite insane with it and all of the symptom spotting... We really want this desperately right!?! Anyway 10 dpo this morning and I think that there is the faintest of lines on the test... So I wouldn't believe a negative yesterday and I won't believe my eyes today Grin 'Tis a certain kind of madness this ttc lark I tells thee!!! Congrats Piggy and good luck hello!!!!!

applepieinthesky · 07/02/2012 09:31

Wow so many bfps already. Congrats to you all, you must be so excited Smile

I might test today but shouldn?t I have done it first thing this morning?
Or would it show anyway now because I am due on tomorrow?

OP posts:
celebmum · 07/02/2012 10:56

Hi all.. ooh these damn 2ww's!! I POAS this morning, AF due at the weekend.. and I got a BFP! Grin a faint line but defo there on a superdrug pink box one!

will prob buy a cb digital and test again tomorrow at the weekend!

Kelbells · 07/02/2012 11:34

Congrats Celebmum!

After my faint, faint cheapie, I've just peed on a CB digital.... Fully convinced that it would say 'not pregnant' but actually got a 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' whoop!!

Although I'm not heading to a pregnancy thread yet as I noticed some spotting at the same time Hmm..... Fingers crossed that it's just breakthrough bleeding but I do have a history of miscarriage (Nov) and CP (Dec) so keeping my fingers (and legs) crossed!

Apple I'm not really the best example of restraint as I've just tested mid-morning 2 days before AF is due! But I think as a general rule you should usually test FMU before AF and then you can use anytime pee after AF is due? But do you have enough willpower?? Grin
