Good luck Belly D. :)

Duggs I jsut asked the same question as Ari on the super ov thread as to why the embryos ar enot being put straight back?

Have psoted on super ov thread but jsut to say was lovely to meet the super ov ladies on Sunday.

freelancegirl · 20/02/2012 13:36

Hello all! Quickie from me as on train from Epsom to a meeting in Horsham.

Just had booking in appt, all good but pc probs meant midwife had to call after for couple questions Inc alcohol intake pre-preg. I said 10-14 units and she said 'gosh, quite a lot - were you alcohol dependent?'. Do you think she misheard me?! I counted after & it WAS more like 6-10 these days (pre preg of course) sometimes less, but still! Glad she didn't ask me in my clubbing / pubbing days!

Hope all well, proper post later xx

Cheerfulcharlie · 20/02/2012 15:25

free I don't think 10 - 14 units is particularly high pre preg. Do you think she meant per day and you answered per week?! Or maybe most people lie and she's not used to hearing the truth.

lisacn · 20/02/2012 15:40

free Ha you little pisshead :) Its a bit rude of her to say anything to be honest, perhaps she thought you meant each week.

Arianrhod · 20/02/2012 16:15

Well just out of curiosity I just looked up the govt guidelines, and the recommendation for women is no more than 14 units per week. So I'd say you were just about right free - like cheerful suggested, perhaps she thought you meant per day??! Grin

digitalgirl · 20/02/2012 16:17

I am 32 weeks today and not seeing a medical professional for another 2 weeks. Surely I should be hooked up to an ECG monitor on a daily basis? And why oh why am I so effin' busy at work?

lisacn · 20/02/2012 16:36

when I met the midwife she raised her eyebrows at my 2-3 units per week, perhaps they think we should be saints when TTC

digi when do you give up work??

Stogan · 20/02/2012 16:59

Goodness digi mega praise indeed to you still working, I packed in at 29 weeks and was wrecked. Hope u will be able to put ur feet up soon Hunni xSmile

Dunnitt · 20/02/2012 17:13

Duggs As I had to run off yesterday, not sure if Sue give you the contact details for the accupunturist that we used. His name is James Welpton and this is his website: www.theacupunctureclinicmarlow.co.uk/

Comedyworks · 20/02/2012 17:17

Hi all - sorry I have been so rubbish at posting - have kept up with the posts and thinking of you all in your different ways.
I sympathise with you Digi - I'm planning on stopping in ten weeks (2 weeks before c-section) I now have a date so if all goes to plan will be having this little one on 14th May!!!
Take care all x

Stogan · 20/02/2012 17:23

Aw wow comedy must be so nice to have an actual date, would live to know when my babe will appear, slightest twinge at the mo and I swear I'm in labour lol GrinGrin

igggi · 20/02/2012 17:47

You will be soon enough Stogan!
Comedy can I ask when the ecs date is compared to your due date? I ask as I can't remember if ds's was at 39 or 38 weeks and I like to fantasise that the day will come quickly

snoopygirl · 20/02/2012 18:17

Lovely to hear your doing ok Comedy I have been wondering how you were getting on. Hope the remainder of your pregnancy goes great. x

willitbe · 20/02/2012 18:59

Stogan - the waiting at the end is horrible, , especially with start-stop contractions (I remember it welll!) But at least you know it won't be too long now.

I managed to get the doctor to prescribe me 20mg pred, 5mg folic acid, low dose asprin and the heperin injections (he likes to start the injects after ov). I forgot to request a repeat prescription for progesterone, but not sure if I will start on this before bfp anyway. So I am all set and usefully af arrived this morning!!!! I am starting on the vits, and asprin as you suggested here, and all ready for pred and heperin after ov in about 13 days time. Grin

Comedyworks · 20/02/2012 19:06

Thanks stogan and snoopy. Igggi they usually arrange the section for closer to 39 weeks but we all agreed that 38 would be better as had an emergency section with ds and then dd arrived at 37 weeks - 10 days before planned section + I think everyone just wants this baby out and healthy!!

I feel like I'm definitely plodding through this pregnancy which feels (and looks!) like the gestation of an elephant. Haven't wanted to post moans as I know how very lucky I am to be here but also am getting incredibly excited which, lovely as you TTCers are wonder if it is sometimes hard to hear as well. We did the nursery last week and I think I'm over prepared but have been waiting to do this for four years and figure I might as well just enjoy being prepared + trying to work close to birth to give as much time as possible afterwards.

picolina123 · 20/02/2012 19:40

lisa i have a chemist in here, but havint needed anything since 5am sun morning , which is weird compared to my last MC , i was in pain for days . excuse the too much detail everyone but a large hand full of tissue came out sun mor around 9am and since them its only been like a normal period , not even very heavy. i ate more pineapple today an keeping on the teas, def dont want to go for scan and they tell me still have to do d & c , but im afraid to think the worst is over.

lisacn · 20/02/2012 19:49

pico I hope that the worst has passed for you, like I said i'm around if you need me x

igggi · 20/02/2012 21:30

Pico, based on the at-home mcs I've had it does sound like the worst is over for you - though bleeding might well continue for a while Sad
Thank you Comedy that is good to know - I haven't had conversation with obs yet (haven't actually seen her yet, despite "high risk" pg Hmm )
Have I confessed to my latest method of freaking out? I have found a kick-counting app for my phone. So I can compare number of movements over a set period from day to day and freak out if they're different

digitalgirl · 21/02/2012 00:08

pico Sad sounds like you're through the worst of it. Even with my erpc I bled/spotted for about a week afterwards. You don't have to go for a scan if you don't want to, unless the bleeding continues longer than a few weeks.

stogan including this week I have another 4 weeks of work to go. Not quite sure how I'm going to manage it - the walk from the tube to the office is taking longer and longer. Keep us posted on everything twinge related, none of this sneaking off and having a baby without telling us!

comedy very exciting to have a date booked in. What will happen if labour starts before then? Do you get bumped up the list in the hope that you can get a cs before labour progresses too far?

Very ratty tonight - ds took forever to fall asleep which meant I didn't get dinner till 9:30. Then because dsis is looking after ds I had to prep tomorrow's lunch tomorrow's dinner which I've only just finished doing. Thank god my mum is turning up tomorrow night for two days.

picolina123 · 21/02/2012 08:37

iggy i really hope so, another night i slept yesterday and i had pineapple last night! love that fruit. going into work thur if it goes like this.
digital want to do the scan to make sure everything clear, doint want any infections on holiday or when im flying to australia.
i found a really good web site yest www.preventmiscarriage.com/ its a clinic located in the states and it just has a lot of info on it which was very interesting, mr s is really good but the communication isnt and all ive really been give is 1 page of info and 1 page on drugs to take, i also dont have access to the miscarriage clinic web info since you need a pin and they only give them to private patients. after reading through the different things this web site covered i felt ready to try again, i might even say eager to try again.

freelancegirl · 21/02/2012 09:41

Hi all,

Pico I too hope the worst has passed for you as I know this must feel like a long, drawn out process and it's so good to be able to get it over with. I started bleeding a few days before my last ERPC and bled for about a week in total. Like a heavy period. But of course the 'products' were taken out with the ERPC. I too have found all the info about mcs etc online. You are not missing much from Mr S' website. He really seems to concern himself with diagnosis and treatment, rather than the emotional bits that go on in between.

Willitbe that's great that you have managed to get the steroids out of your docs! Good going. It just goes to show what a bit of research and knowledge can do for us pro-active types (ie all of us on here). If we hadn't pursued this route we would still be in the dark with no treatment.

Oh my goodness - Stogan, Digi and Comedy you are all getting close to D day! Or should it be B Day. Stogan I can't believe you are at term, it's incredible. Hope you're feeling all calm and serene :)

Poor you Digi with the work thing. Can you take it easy when once you are at work or do you have to stand around a lot? I know the walk you are talking about and it is filled with damn tourists getting in the way too!

Comedy great about having the C section booked in and a date to work to. Wow, it is really all happening very soon! Other people's pregnancies go quickly as we know...

Iggi am always interested in your latest method of freaking out as I am usually a few steps behind you :) A counting kicks app? How amazing! I remember how difficult it was for you and the Doppler.

I have always found a hb with mine so far but keep checking as sometimes the whole 'I am still pregnant' thing just seems so impossible and far fetched. I am 18 weeks today.

So stats wise - from yesterdays booking in - I weigh 68 kilos and my bump measures 1cm more than average, which she said was a good thing. Heard the heartbeat which was reassuring but I didn't tell her I listen to it almost every day to prevent a semi-panic. I also have a whole list of dates for the next steps but am going to email Mr S' office today to see when he might want to see me there. I have to say it was great to have a midwife that knew all about the treatment for NK cells! One of the benefits of being at the same hospital as Mr S.

I too was rather miffed about the alcohol thing. When I think about it, I had given myself a three small glasses of wine limit and that was only on nights out, so I probably was only having 6-10 units a week. But I have always trotted out that 'up to 14' thing as I know that 14 is the recommended health limit. Even at times when (in my wild past...) I would have been packing away a lot more. Not sure whether she misheard and though I said 40 :) Either way I am pretty sure I am not and never have been alcohol dependent. Other than that, she was very nice.

I am starting pregnancy pilates this evening (courtesy of recommendation by *PQ) and looking forward to hopefully being able to get a certain level of fitness back.

PQ hope the intralipids went well!

Waves to everyone else. Will attempt the list again in a bit xx

freelancegirl · 21/02/2012 09:54

Hello :) I am around, just reading and not posting, as still feeling grim. Have a couple of days at home so just laying around not doing much. I don't know if thats making me feel worse or not!

I am watching you all closely and am excited to read about bfps' and imminenet arrivals :)

I will now slink back to my sofa xx

snoopygirl · 21/02/2012 10:19

Thanks for updating the list free
I am so excited for all you romping along on the trimester lists Smile but so wish I just wasn't going around in a loop down the bottom Sad. Sorry to be grumpy.
Added to that I have put on f**kin 10lbs just on the pred ...HELP! I have never been this heavy and getting scared that I won't get it off easily. Even new mega stretchy jeans just purchased are so tight and uncomfortable. I play tennis every wed and walk 4 miles once a week with a mate. I am stepping that up to walk 4 miles twice a week and I AM GETTING MY BIKE OUT NOW for half an hr sprint up lane and back. That's it it's in writing on here so got to go and do it!

hopefulfor2nd · 21/02/2012 10:20

I'm also here! I've a scan tomorrow in Epsom, my first with Mr s. I'm working on my dates as 9+2 today but was put back 5 days on my first scan, I'm ignoring that til hearing what Mr s says tom! I only wanna look forward!
Have got morning sickness, and very tired but otherwise fine.
I'll post tomorrow night with update from Mr s rg dates x x
