Hello everyone!!
Just to say another BFN from me Sad
Also lisa the pred seems to haved totally messed up my cycles too, only my second month of steroids and my cycles are all over the place. Dont appear to have ovulated and its making me late! Confused Be interesting to hear what Mr S advises you tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your news pico
Enjoy the rest of your holiday free

xx

lisacn · 12/02/2012 16:09

Hi buster Its totally frustrating, I've never had irregular periods. I've been having pains around my ovaries so not sure what is going on. We have taken a break this month :-( but i'm hoping it will help my cycles calm down. I know Louise said that if my LP gets any shorter they can give me something for it, thought I might ask if I can have a lower dose or maybe start taking the steroids a few days after ovulation, I don't really know if I am ovulating, last month it was late according to my cbfm this month it was 4 days early!! Ill let you know what they say :-)

lemonsherbet · 12/02/2012 16:40

buster and lisacn like you I used to have regular periods but I think the steroids are also affecting my cycle. I have only been on them for 2months and my cycle has become longer and I seem to be ovulating later. I have POAS and a BFN so am waiting for AF to show her face, when normally she would already be here. So you have my sympathy. Not sure if I should stop the pred next month just to let my cycle have a chance to return to normal. I am guessing it is the steroids since it does seem to affect some peoples ovulation. I was wondering if this is what happened to those on the super ovulation programme?

batteryhen · 12/02/2012 16:48

Afternoon everyone :)

Sorry about all the bfn's :( and all the messed up cycles. I didn't find that pred messed up my cycle - but I did wonder if it did stop me getting pg. If I hadn't fallen pg when I did - I was seriously contemplating not starting the pred until I got a bfp and not at ovulation. I didn't have to do that - but it was definitely on my mind.

Nothing really going on here - I can't believe I am in the second trimester :) I have never been that far before :(

I feel a bit funny though about telling people - a)because I know it can still go wrong and b) bcause we haven't had the amnio yet....all this waiting is driving me mad.

Our puppy is keeping me busy and entertained though. We were watching him yesterday in front of the fire playing with his blanket ...'how cute' I thought. Until I realised he was actually chewing on my dirty knickers that he had stolen from the laundry pile. Thank goodness we didn't have guests!

duggs keeping my eyeball on you xx

snoopygirl · 12/02/2012 17:01

Yes sorry too about all bfn's.

Well i deliberately held off with pred for couple of days after ov this month- I know it's against the advice but as I said to others on sup ov board i have read a few instances of successful pregnancies by doing this. There may be nothing in it but thought I would try as this is kind of my experimental month and shouldn't really be ttc anyway.

Battery what made wonder if it was stopping you getting pregnant? did you read it somewhere? I thought I did too but can't remember now.

It seems extremely odd to me that there seems to be a clutch of ladies that had totally normal periods and got preg quick before and now nothing and screwed up cycles!

lisacn · 12/02/2012 17:08

battery love your puppy storey

lemonsherbet i didn't really want to take a break but when I last emailed Louise she said suggested it, I don't want to go tomorrow and have them suggest it to me again and we miss timed things with my super early ovulation so decided it was best to take a break, they usually only let you go 4-6 cycles before they suggest a break, I'd like to get to the bottom of things and get a plan of action in place now, hoping he says yes to the clomid. Although saying that it could all be linked to my mysterious pains, I'll let you know what the outcome is :-)

batteryhen · 12/02/2012 17:47

snoopy - I don't think I read any evidence about it, IT was more like a gut feeling. I had got pg so easily in the past and then since starting the pred it was taking ages.

Stogan · 12/02/2012 19:49

Awww no sorry about the BFNs ladies.

Just home from my shower, my lord we have one spoiled little baby. We had just got the nursery complete and now it's covered in amazing gifts, I really do have amazing family and friends. Also having allsorts of different twinges and pulls today, wonder if my baby is warming up for arrival, aaarrrgghhhh excited much !!!Grin

PQ77 · 12/02/2012 19:58

Thanks for the travel tips and reassurance everyone. Think we will go for it if we can find accommodation at 8 weeks notice (I had a look on the travel boards here and realised everyone was planning their trips to Florida next year...haha oh well)

Speaking of hols, you're off on Tuesday aren't you kittens? Have a freshly squeezed pomegranate juice for me (lots of street vendors sell it mmmm. I have been buying from the supermarket it as apparently good for endometriosis etc but not quite the same)

euro I know it's horrible that left behind feeling. and I am sure you can go through all the rational positive things in your favour (the fact you have a great plan and medical support and time is more or less on your side) but it doesn't help when you are right in the moment and feeling sad.

Sorry about all the bfns.

Hope you have a good trip back free stogan hope the baby shower was fun Smile

Hi to everyone else I've missed x

snoopygirl · 12/02/2012 20:04

Ahh Stogan sounds like a great day. So excited for you and how lovely to have your new nursery brimming with goodies for the little one! just looked at google thingey and didn't know this was your first. Brilliant, is the OH ready??

Twinges pulls......god it sounds so strange to be talking about an actual baby that's coming and real!!

Coconutfeet · 12/02/2012 20:53

Stogan I'm so excited for you! Sounds like a great afternoon.

Sorry about the BFNs everyone.

Euro - Sorry to hear you're feeling left behind. It must be so hard after all this bloody time.

I've had a conversation with a friend about booking a doula for the birth. She's reminded me that I need to get cracking if I am going to book someone. I had one with ds and, although I didn't find I needed her in the end, she was a reassuring presence and dp found her really reassuring so it was worth it just for that. with any luck I'll have fewer interventions this time around [hopeful] so maybe it would be useful to have one with me. It would also help to have someone around in case dp has to stay home with ds, and I end up at the hospital on my own.

Coconutfeet · 12/02/2012 20:54

Oh, aand safe journey back, freelance!

Stogan · 12/02/2012 21:06

Thanks ladies, yeah our first baby and I always swore I wouldnt spoil my child but after all we've been thru by god it will be getting everything I can afford !!
DH is more than ready, he runs for the hospital bag if I so much as fart GrinGrinGrin he's so excited ! He's a big guy 6ft 2 and built like a house but bless him he is getting so emotional, can't wait to see him hold our baby, gonna be magic. I'll go now coz I'm getting teary again god dam hormones !!! Night all xxx

igggi · 12/02/2012 21:49

Glad you enjoyed your shower Stogan Smile
I've bought precisely 3 things for the baby, still feel like something is going to go wrong (or maybe that I need to think that way to protect myself) but the wriggling baby does slowly wear down my resistance!
One way in which I do feel positive is that I really believe everyone else on this thread will get to have their babies one day. I think you're all on the best treatment available and it is just a matter of time.

picolina123 · 13/02/2012 07:18

stogan aww thats lovely, i think you gave us all a lot of hope there.

duggs1976 · 13/02/2012 08:56

Hello ladies. . Is it just snoopy and PQ and myself who are due to test end this week/ this coming weekend? Have I missed anyone. Are the ladies who are wtttc coming off the waiting time - how is scooter?

Havingkittens · 13/02/2012 09:28

I'm another one who thinks it's strange that I got pregnant really easily 6 times and then no dice since I started the Pred. Although it could just be that I'm older now. Hopefully will find out more later today. The other thing is, seeing lisa's comments about weird pains, since being on the pred I have lots of mid cycle cramps which I've not had this month whilst on a break and I don't think I had them on my last break either. Hmmmm.

Yes PQ off tomorrow. Sounds like the weather is similar to here. Brrrr! Are pomegranites in season now? I'd have thought it too cold. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the break Smile.

Coconutfeet · 13/02/2012 10:19

Picolina - If things don't get moving and you don't want to take medication it might be worth thinking about acupuncture to get things started. There's a good place on Harley Street that a few of us have used, if you do want more info.

Kittens - I've lost track of where you're off to. I'm guessing somewhere lovely and warm if you're going to be eating pomegranites.

Arianrhod · 13/02/2012 10:24

Morning ladies - just wanted to second coconut on the acupuncture to start off a natural MC - certainly worked (in spades) for me this last time.

Dunnitt · 13/02/2012 10:44

Hi everyone. Thanks for your notes of encouragement about the slow growing fetal pole! I have another scan this Friday. So will know more then. Have taken the full day off work in preparation for not wanting to go back to the office good or bad.

duggs I'm not with Mr S, I'm with a clinic called ARGC, so they did the scan. The didn't really comment one way or the other just asked me to go for a prog blood test this morning.

stogan you give me hope!

duggs1976 · 13/02/2012 12:07

Ahh I know ARGC supposed to have best success rates in uk ! Did u do IVF with them then?

Havingkittens · 13/02/2012 12:53

coconut, I'm going to Istanbul for 6 days.

Sorry about my fleeting posts, so much to do before I go away tomorrow - including my appt with Mr S followed by a probable tour of Asda pharmacies to get cheap Letrozole! (and spending half an hour being passed around the NHS fertility clinic trying, unsuccessfully to follow up my letter inviting me to make an appointment, even though they have said they can't do much for me 'cos I'm too old Sad).

mercator · 13/02/2012 14:16

Hi everyone

Sorry for all the BFN's this month. I wonder if starting prog from BFP is advised in these situations if cycles start becoming longer/erratic. I think Prof Quenby does it from BFP.

Stogan how exciting! Enjoy your last few weeks before the little baby arrives!

Pico thinking of you.

Duggs hope all goes well with the scan.

I'm also bricking it this week for the next scan. Bloody terrified as keep going through has it already died have symptoms gone etc. Will provide update when I have it. Tend to go into myself at times like this. Just can't face another disappointment.

Congrats to those moving up a trimester and good luck to those testing.

Sorry if I've missed anyone.

mercator · 13/02/2012 14:17
