Just wrote a blardy long message before getting the 'thread full' message so here we go.................

Sweetie Shock that's some very poor advice indeed. Someone on MN suggested looking on your surgery's website, as often the GPs qualifications are listed and you can look for ones that specialise in womens bits - might be worth a go for next time?

I don't deal well with stress at all. I've been reading Paul McKenna's book on Stress and some of the exercises in there have been really helpful - it's mostly visualising and stuff, but it's made a big difference to me. Might be worth a go, if you're in to that sort of thing :)

Twins run in our family, too. I secretly like the idea, but honestly know we wouldn't cope!! :o

SweetieDoesIt · 03/02/2012 21:05

Maybe GP is about late 40's so not really old school. He has always been so good on other things in the past. Never mind for now hey ho, so what are you baking my lovely? Is is the giant cup cake?

Pop I will see if I can find out if any of the other doctors at the practice specialise in fertility. I could always ring and ask if it isn't on their web site. I will also check out that book too. I have a couple of CBT one and The Secret which I have found useful.

Loving the thought of you two both with twins, that would be soooooo great. GrinGrin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/02/2012 00:19

I have been baking for 7 hours, and I am knackered!! I have produced 20 cosmopolitan cocktail cupcakes with white icing and black piped flowers, and 20 chocolate chip cupcakes with a chocolate icing, dyed black with white piped flowers, plus a vanilla giant cupcake, which I have piped in black and white stripes on the bottom, and white on top. DH has put his amazing design skills into play, and made 3 new york taxis and a new york yankees sign for the top. I shall photograph tomorrow when I am not covered in crap Grin

One advantage of a puppy is that he hoovers up all the rubbish on the floor Grin

Pop and Sweetie do you ever find exercise helps with stress? Whenever I am stressed, it works wonders. Natural endorphins and all that shizzle [down with the kids]

cakes82 · 04/02/2012 06:07

Morning all
Just a quick message before we go away for weekend. CBD agreed BFP 3+ which agrees with my 5wks+1.
DH slighlty less in shock now and more happy :o

The cupcakes sound lovely Maybe have taken a bit to eat on train :)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/02/2012 08:22

Congratulations Cake Grin such fantastic news. It really gives me hope that you and Pop have got your BFPs after so long. I'm at the 15 month stage myself.

Makes cups of tea for everyone and guides Maybe to the comfy sofa. I'm totally impressed with your baking skillz Smile

Morning all you other lovely smacketeers Sweetie, Imps, Beedle, Bean, Smegs, Far, Whim, Green and anyone I've forgotten! Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/02/2012 08:24

Oops I forgot Generic, Stasi and Little Blush
Also hello to Frootz Grin

SweetieDoesIt · 04/02/2012 08:58

Cakes so pleased CBD agreed with the original pee stick and DH is coming around to the idea, enjoy your weekend away.

Maybe I am super impressed, they all sound FANTASTIC, can not wait to see the pictures.

I made fish pie for tea last night and managed to drop half a hard boiled egg on the floor, little blind dog managed to have found it and eaten it before I had time to bend down to pick it up. Very speedy but she does love egg GrinGrin

Morning Cupcakes how are you doing?

Am waiting for the snow to arrive, it is currently really sunny, then we are going to go out for a brisk walk. Might pop to the supermarket to stock up on provisions while I am waiting. Hope everyone has lovely plans for today.

Imps7 · 04/02/2012 09:08

YAY! Cakes!! Congratulations again Grin

Sweetie, disappointing that your GP was so clueless re: TTC but you're right - at least you know who not to go to see about it anymore! There's one GP at our surgery who has been useless every time I've seen him (not about TTC) so I don't bother with him at all now.

Maybe - wow - you must be knackered! Last time I spent all day cooking, I was in pain the next day - sore back, knees, elbows (Hmm) - felt like I was falling apart! Can't wait to see the photos!

Had a lovely evening out with friends - cocktails, dinner, catching up on news etc - all alcohol free for me!! Had a properly yummy peach and strawberry long tea mocktail - think I probably enjoyed that more than I would a boozy one.

Right, on with the day - it's a beautiful frosty morning - we're forecast for snow but don't tend to get it very much compared to the rest of the UK so hopefully it will stay sunny. That said, OH and I are in all day painting and pottering about so snow wouldn't get in the way of anything.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/02/2012 09:52

Morning all!!

Cakes, bloody brilliant news Grin You can start getting excited now!

How are you my dear?

Sweetie what are dogs like? The pup can hear a yoghurt pot opening from a mile off, and manages to find socks, no matter where I hide them Grin

Imps I do ache!! My feet hurt! Made it to bed at 2.30 last night. Just need to get some black ribbon, then I will take some pics!

We are aso forecast heavy snow tonight. I love it. It's DH's birthday tomorrow, so snow would be a great present!

Imps I am very impressed with your non-alcohol evening. I will admit I had a few glasses of wine whilst working away last night. Though I plan an alcohol free cycle next. I really enjoy temping. Does this make me sad? Grin I like seeing what my temperature does every day!

beangrower · 04/02/2012 11:28

Maybe - are you going to be in the next Great British Bake Off? I want you to win! Good luck tomorrow and have great time with DH - another year younger?!

Cakes - was it ages that you were TTC? Was it the HSG do you think?

Sweetie - GP not at all helpful (and 15 months is tough and they should GET it). But from my experience the ones who are so-called specialists aren't any cop either . Just find one who likes referring you off their plate! Love the eggy dog. So cute. Saw some luffly lurchers yesterday and got all gooey for another dog (broodiness a bit skewed?) Blush

Imps - great night out. I bet you were still the biggest sparkle at the party even without the booze to rev you up.

We had a really nice night at Skylon restau with my folks - Mum's 70. DP was all romantic, and amazed by how I scrub up. He'd had a busy day hob-knobbing with Prince Charles (no less) about fish/sustainability, so maybe some alcohol had passed his lips in the name royal hospitality! But he's made such an effort for well over a week... I can't complain.

Just off to scramble some eggs and salmon for DS. Will save you all some.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/02/2012 11:34

Skylon Bean? Food looks amazing in there, my little bro and his fiancee love it there. Sounds like you had an amazing night. And surely now DP has met Charlie, you are now some sort of royalty by proxy no?

DH and one of my friends are trying to get me to enter the bake off. I don't think I am good enough though!

SweetieDoesIt · 04/02/2012 12:59

Imps your evening out sounds lovely, and vbery virtuous of you on the mocktails. I have hardly had any booze this month and feel so much better for it generally.

nom nom nom bean just looked at Skylon online, looks fab. I agree we are now mixing with Royalty

Maybe Great British Bake off, so we are also in the company of a master baker in the making too

bean I am totally broody for another dog, in fact tomorrow taking DH Aunt to look at some Lhasa Apso pups as she is soooo in love with mine. It is going to be difficult not to sign up for one myself, DH has given me the hard word already.

It has started snowing here but only very fine so far. Bring on the big fat fluffy flakes - ooooohhhhhh I love the snow!!!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 04/02/2012 13:08

Ooh Maybe it would be awesome if you went on the great British bake off. I would finally have a (very tenuous) connection with a real life celeb Wink

Bean and Imps Sounds like you both had lovely nights out. I've got plans with friends later so hope the snow doesn't cause too much havoc. I've not seen some of them since before Xmas as I have had to work all weekends in january.

Sweetie any food that lands on the floor is fair game, well according to my doggy. I barely need to sweep/Hoover in the kitchen Grin

I'm ok thanks, I've been a bit fed up with ttc lately. Work has been really hard so I think that's the main reason I've been AWOL. It is always very busy in winter anyway and we are in the process of decommissioning. It seems unreal as we are full with patients every day. It's crazy to imagine we will be shutting in 4 weeks.

However on a positive note I have my new job to look forward to. It's a new unit so it's exciting. I'm sure it will be very hard work at first though.

On the rat smacking front I'm using the CBFM, it's day 7 and it has given me a high this morning which really surprised me as my shortest cycle ever is 29 days.
Now I'm thinking maybe I have a long LP and I'm not smacking the rat early enough.

Anyway enough about me Blush this feels like a very me me me post

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/02/2012 13:26

Grin at me being a celeb Cupcakes Sounds like a tough time at work, but good that you have something positive at the end of it. I think Pop got a very early high as well if I remember correctly. Get smacking that rat my dear!

I can't wait for the snow to start! It will be lovely for the engagement party tonight! I have uploaded the photos now, the giant cupcake isn't great, but DH tasted a bit and assures me it's nice!!

NinjaChipmunk · 04/02/2012 15:39

Woo hoo another bfp! Wonderful news. Try to get back on later, rl taking over!

SweetieDoesIt · 04/02/2012 16:22

Maybe just popped in to say how amazing those cakes all look. You are so talented, you really should try for British Bake Off. Also loving the socks too.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 04/02/2012 16:32

Ah, thank you Sweetie, you are too kind Grin

Ninja lovely to see you!

beangrower · 04/02/2012 17:12

Wow - agree with Sweetie (and buy that pup, BUY IT) - brilliant cakes, Maybe. You must have the patience of the saint as well as talent. Enjoy the engagement do. Great socks too. Wow.

Cupcakes - that CBFM high sounds like you might get your bfp this month! Get SWInging lady. cd7 is quite mad though isn't it - does that mean you have an LP of approx 20 days?!!!! Can you get a peak of several days on CBFM?

My boobs killing me and feel quite 'periody' indeed. At cd18 this seems a bit crazy to me.

Ooh there's one hour 35mins to go on my ebay CBFM.... I'm still wining by a mile. Grin but I know what these sneaky buggers are like with their last minute bids....

We are all going CBFM mad aren't we? Ah well - after the amount of time we've waited for our BFPs we deserve some shag-dictating in our lives.

Yes - highly recommend Skylon - amazing service, food really good (though my red mullet akin to an inner soul but DP assures me they are a rubbery fish anyway) and in a lovely spot. Mum v pleased with her night out though less chuffed with being 70, bless her. Still she's kept the side up and is in pretty good shape.

PopcornMouse · 05/02/2012 09:04

Sweetie you're the 2nd person to recommend The Secret, I shall have to put it on my to-buy list!
:o your dog sounds so funny. Totally get a puppy!

I find some exercise helps, maybe like swimming ? but more active aerobic stuff doesn't really.
Loving your knitted socks, and those cupcakes are a.mazing!! You should so go on the Bake Off ? we'd totally vote for you! :o

cupcakes that's wonderful, I hope your new job is much less stressful - once you're past your initial new-job stress anyway :)
Yes, my high was on CD8 and I peaked on CD15. I think it might overcompensate on the first cycle?

Hope you're having a lovely weekend away, cakes

Ooo Bean that sounds like a lovely evening :)

I'm very impressed at the mocktails Imps !

Where's far ?

Horrible Saturday night. Spent all day decorating while DH was at work and then decided I don't like the colour then we ordered a chinese for tea as a treat since I can't drink ? it took two hours to come, and when I took a bite of my prawn roll it was raw; it's was still blue! Shock I spent the next ten minutes freaking out incase I got food poisoning and mc Blush but I'm glad to say I'm fine this morning as DH told me repeatedly I would be. Takeaway is now off the menu, sob ? I ended up with a bag of popcorn for tea as I couldn't bring myself to eat the rest Confused

SweetieDoesIt · 05/02/2012 09:28

Pop so sorry to hear about your disappointing take away, especially after such a long wait. How are you feeling generally?

Bean my boobs are killing me at the moment too, since about 4DPO getting more painful every day. Not other symptoms to report though.

Not sure if we will be able to go puppy viewing today as it is very snowy and not sure about the roads. The puppy is about 50 miles from here so is it worth risking it? If we do go I will take my camera and upload some photos.

FF have upgraded me to VIP for 5 days, I love the sound of being a VIP - I know I am shallow.Blush

Right off for a snowy walk now, hope everyone is ok.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/02/2012 10:27

Morning all! We have so much snow!!! It's up to Otis' armpits, he is jumping around in it like a little kangaroo!!

Pop it is always so disappointing when you get a rubbish takeaway, I would have been put off the rest if I had seen a raw prawn too.

Sweetie if you do go puppy viewing, be careful. We won't be driving anywhere today, I just watched a car try and leave our little road. It didn't look easy!

GreenOlives · 05/02/2012 12:26

Happy Sunday smacketers!
I'm loving the snow today Have been sledging in the park and building snowmen with DH and DS - he is sooo excited! Have come in to dry off and have lunch before heading back out to play again.

So excited to hear about BFP Cakes that's fabulous news! Grin Glad CB digi was agreeable too! Just shows that BFPs sometimes take a while to show up! Hope you are having a nice weekend away.

Maybe you are a baking genius - the cupcakes look devine! Glad you had a lovely time last night. Thanks for the hot choc, just what I need to warm up!

Bean Hope that CBFM is yours now! Meal sounds lovely. I definitely think you should be classed as rat smacking royalty now with your connections - very posh Smile

Sweetie don't think I would risk any long journeys today but seeing a puppy would be tempting! Think I would enjoy being a VIP too!

Boo to disappointing takeaway Pops that's pants Sad especially after a hard days painting

GreenOlives · 05/02/2012 13:40

P.s Happy birthday to MrMaybe! Grin Hope you're having a lovely snowy fun day! xx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 05/02/2012 14:14

Thanks Olives! But we are not having a fun day. MrMaybe is horrifically hungover, and he hasn't left the sofa. Other than to run to the toilet Sad

Very bored. We have no food in the house, and it is so bad out there that I am worried I will fall if I try and bring shopping back on my own Grin

So pleased your appointment went well. You will get that BFP before May. Mark. My. Words Grin

And thank you to everyone for the lovely cake comments!

GreenOlives · 05/02/2012 14:26

Oh no! A stinking hangover is NOT fun at all Sad I popped to the local Co-op earlier and used DS's sledge to carry the shopping home in - it worked a treat! Hope DH is feeling better soon. x
