Just wrote a blardy long message before getting the 'thread full' message so here we go.................

SweetieDoesIt · 26/01/2012 22:12

Olives am brooking very hard that all goes well in your tests and GET pregnant and STAY pregnant no arguments.

Pop hope you are ok and AF on the train stay well clear

Will have to go back and fully read the discussion of 15 kids, I didn't see the programme myself.

I am officially obsessing about ovulating - fact. I have been temping and not rise as yet. I have had only negative Smile OPK, yesterday and today in the early evening. But a very faint dual line on the cheapie stick just now. I also had a bit of EWCM this afternoon, I never get much so that might have been it. If it were up to me I would SWI tonight just in case, but DH has just come in after big fat curry night and a few beers. I will have to try to work my feminine charms without breathing in Wink

Stasi · 26/01/2012 22:18

Evening all. Had a busy couple of days with an ill cat. He's home from the vet now, but my lunch breaks and evenings have been filled with phonecalls finding out how he is and when he can come home. I'm having my first cuddle with him in a week, since last weekend he's been ill and lethargic and didn't want fusses or cuddles. I've missed it!

Anyway, got my first ever +ve OPK today, though a feint line I think it's all I'll get. Took it very late in the day after getting back. Coincides with the EWCM I've been getting.

Beedle I'm sure the wrigglers will be ready and waiting for that egg, if it pops before tomorrow.

Bean sounds like your interview went quite well really. There are worse things to come out and realise you didn't say. I hope DS gets less clingy soon, could it just be a phase he's going through?

Olives Hope you're less tired tonight

Popcorn My DH sleeps through the alarm, fanjometer beep, and generally me getting up also! Envy

Maybe sorry you're still sick. Sounds like you've done something constructive with your time. I'd like to learn to crochet, but want to finish my knitting projects first.

cakes sorry to hear AF is considering turning up. How dare she? Perhaps lock all the doors and hide under the bed covers?

Whim I would love to have 4 kids, it's DH that wants to keep population down. However I hope we'll adpot or foster. The second episode of 15 kids shows a lot of the problems I think are likely in a family that large. No money, no space, and terrible sibling rivalry. Though the beauty queen mum also has mental health problems I think... I agree with you on every point you've raised. However, I think the 'natural contraception' of breastfeeding is there for a reason, though not necesary any more with the developed world really.

Bed time for me now, well, SWI time. Then some headstands I think, though I doubt it makes that much difference. Hoping 5 days of abstinance will do the trick. Both DH's SA have been close to the limit on timing, so it could explain his low count at least (and the motility issues?).

GreenOlives · 27/01/2012 08:46

Morning!

Hope the SWI was fun last night Stasi and hope you managed it without inhaling too many curry/beer fumes Sweetie!

Now work for me today - yay! Have a play date at the local soft play centre later More fun though Grin

GreenOlives · 27/01/2012 08:46

That would be no work not now

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/01/2012 09:25

Morning everyone!

Olives have fun today, I half think things like that seem almost more fun when you're a grown up!

Stasi how did that headstand go Wink hope you are in on piece this morning! I think you, and everyone else who wants to adopt/foster are amazing Smile

Sweetie hope DH didn't smell too bad. Don't obsess too much

Whim 181 cousins Shock Christmas must be pricey Wink Now chuck us one of those cookies! And I agree, it is nice that we can all talk like 'normal' people to each other about things we don't always see eye-to-eye on.

Bean how are you this morning? When did you say you had your appointment with the nice doctor?

Smegs are you there? Hope things are ok with you.

Pop hope you had a better day's work yesterday.

Imps hope you are having an amazing holibob, I look forward to your return.

Those that temp, can I have some advice? I have been getting what I guess are ov pains yesterday and this morning, and the old EWCM started last night. Do you see the temp rise the day after the egg has popped? Only I am worrying that my body is just tricking me into thinking I am ovulating, though I have no temp rise to go with it Grin

I was successful in my teach-myself-crochet afternoon. Now I need some nice yarn as I am going to make a blanket. And I must also start my second sock. And continue with my huge shawl, and make a few other odd socks..... Grin

PopcornMouse · 27/01/2012 09:26

That's a really good point, whims. In a way I think it's really interesting we're having this debate at all ? 50 years ago we'd not have had a choice, really, and I'd probably have had 6 by the time I was 20 :o

When do you hear about the job, bean ?

Wow Olives - well done on being so determined and showing us what brooking's all about :) I'm really sorry you had a crap day, I hope today is better (I'm sure it will be, infact)

:o at the curry breath sweetie that's dedication!

9.08 and I've already been in tears once this morning (PMS) :(
And I'm in a huff with DH because I spent ages knitting him a hat (two hats infact, as one was too bright and I knew he wouldn't like it, so I reknit it) and now he tells me it's too tight (it's a beanie, it fits as it's meant to but he's used to sloppy machine-knit hats). I knew he was a fussy bugger before I started it, and I really just shouldn't have bothered

PopcornMouse · 27/01/2012 09:27

maybe I don't get mittenburgers, but I understand you can have pains for a few days before you actually pop. Your temp should rise the day after you ov :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/01/2012 10:40

Lovely, thanks Pop

I have the same trouble with my DH. I knit him a hat, and he thinks it's too girly. It's not. And I made him the most beautiful socks with the nicest yarn, he wore them once and now can't find them. Two words pop. Ungrateful. Sods Grin

Don't cry anymore. Get a medicinal hot chocolate on the go, and a nice slice of cake to go with it.

PopcornMouse · 27/01/2012 11:01

Ohhh hot chocolate, that's genius maybe - I'm sat here in two hoodies with a blanket on my lap like an old lady. I work from home and I'm just too mean to put the heating on when it's only me home :o Blush

Stasi · 27/01/2012 11:25

Quick post from me as I'm trying to get work done from home, and it's actually going quite well. Have to go to the docs for a smear test now though :(

Popcorn - I'm with you on the cold house! I'm wearing a fleece blanket over my legs like a wrap-around skirt. Comfy and fetching (though I'll whip it off and look sexy for DH coming home).

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/01/2012 11:38

Boo to the smear Stasi though at least it gets it out of the way for the next few years!

I am still in my pjs Blush though am working myself up to take the dog out. I also don't put the heating on when it is just me, unless I am realllllly cold. Loving the blanket/skirt ides Stasi I think I may try that myself when I return from the cold outdoors Grin

Stasi · 27/01/2012 12:20

sigh. I am the only person here in the waiting room, and I've still not been seen 20 minutes after my appointment time. I'm not one to complain, but I'm seriously considering it now.

GreenOlives · 27/01/2012 12:40

How annoying Stasi! I never understand why that happens!

I would have my furry throw thing over my legs but at the moment DS has stolen it as he is pretending to be tucked up in bed on the lounge floor! I'm not arguing though as it gives me 5 minutes peace even if I am a bit cold Wink He has a "blanky" which he takes to bed and I must spend a lot of time with this particular throw over my legs as he always refers to it as Mummy's blanky! Grin We really are stylish bunch of ladies aren't we? Grin

farfallarocks · 27/01/2012 15:38

STASI waiting around for a smear, NOT FUN. Hope you have seen by now.

olive so sorry about the text messages, booo, hopefully those tests will give you some answers!

I am afraid I can't bring myself to watch 15 kids, OBEM etc as I just find it too upsetting. Gah! I always thought I would want a big family and now I would be pathetically grateful to just have one baby. I am sure when I have one (not WHEN not IF) I will want another at least but one would be a good start. I am bored of living a selfish life and pleasing myself at weekends, I want to be a mother and I want a family.

I have some good news girls, got my first progesterone blood test back from the 5dpo test and it was 42 (!!!) The highest I have ever got before was 29 which is just scraping what they like to see. If we had not had a BARREN time during fertile period I would start convincing myself I was updiffed. Off for the last blood test today and then hopefully will have a game plan. It makes me more cross though because it makes me think this was probably a good egg that we missed. Still, must move on and not resent DH too much.

pop are you sure that is PMS and not blidingly obvious pregnancy symnptoms?

Where is imps?

Waves to everyone else

OP posts:
PopcornMouse · 27/01/2012 15:47

Oh far what a bummer!! But at least you know you have nothing to worry about on the progesterone front - I'm fairly confident it's normal to vary every month (at least, I'm pretty sure it does with me as some months my boobs hurt more than others).

Lets just say I'm 99% sure DH had been up to his old tricks again when we dtd before I popped Blush but he has hand-on-heart promised to make an effort next month (and now that I feel I can tell him when I ov without sounding like an obsessed loon it will be easier). He hasn't any alcohol in almost a week, which is unheard of when he's off work on holiday, so I'm confident he's committed :)

Hope the smear was bearable stasi

Mummy's blanky, that's so cute olives :)

Yes where is imps ? On that note (well not really but still) I often wonder how solars is and I hope she's ok. She left us very suddenly, and I'd hate to think she was going through a tough time :(

Afternoon all. I did get out of the waiting room finally, and the nurse was very apologetic. Only 35 minutes late on my appointment, but the old man before me had many and varied problems. I can never really get angry with people who are just doing their job. I was just imagining her in there with her lunch while I was waiting :)

The smear was ok, she used a small speculum, but had to change to a larger one. So, more like 2 tests really. Was very uncomfortable, but not painful really. She did ask if I'm ovulating just now, as it was 'very mucus-y' Blush. Not really something you talk about, but she knows I am ttc.

Far I've got my fingers crossed for you having an immaculate conception :)

Froot I hope your doctor has some answers for you. I too would have been jealous of a long gap between AF before ttc. I am now very glad mine is always predictable.

beangrower · 27/01/2012 16:18

Frootloopz - poor you. For once in your life you're laying food on the table with a glass of wine for AF and she's aint bovvered. Hope the doc enlightens.

Stasi - scrape over? Hope not too painful.

Far - fx you can both relax together and enjoy swi. Brooking for good results.

Pop - that naughty DH: time to get the hand-job equivalent of that yukky tasting stuff for nail biters? Not sure what it would be mind you?! Or apply a fine dust that glows blue under fluorescent light - as was used at school to deter petty thieving?!

Mummy's blanky. CUTTEeee. Your DS sounds so sweet Olives. Sorry work so hard at mo. And rubbish text c0ck-up.

Whim - we are deffo grown-ups. And I do deffo imagine your house as a v happy place to grow up. Would love for my DS to have at least one sibling and yours have at least 2 so that's tops.

Looking forward to Imps news. And do wonder about Solars too Pops - sounds like they made a very tough decision but I really hope that means they are more relaxed and less stressed by hideous TTC.

Short anecdote of the day - chatted to a lady who said it was like starting again with her LO. I being v nosey found out that she had an 8yo and a 19mo and she is 45! They had wanted two close together but this is what they ended up with. There's no accounting for this business of getting babies.

No idea when Trust kicks off. New book to edit from Monday so have to really apply myself! Written by an 80 yr old woman - v inspiring. Can't say more.

Have a fantastic w'e all. Me and DP are off for dins tonight; will do us good as has been a fairly tough week.

xxxx

SweetieDoesIt · 27/01/2012 18:05

Hello all
Stasi hate delays in Drs, it always makes me very uncomfortable especially when waiting for something such as smear or similar.

Pop hope the hot chocolate cheered you up. When I work from home I wear a sleeping bag type thing with arms, it is snuggly warm but very unattractive. It was only £15 from CostCo ? bargain Grin

Far that is a great progesterone result. Hope this mean only good things.

Froot book Drs appointment and ironic witch AF will show up. It is so frustrating when all you want to do is get going. I had the same when I first came off the pill.

Bean hope you have a lovely meal out with DP and it sets your weekend off to a great start

Not SWI last night Sad but I am not sure what is going on and would really like a temping guru to offer me some advice. Currently CD13 (usually get EWCM and +ve OPK CD12ish) no temp rise this morning. I am not a good sleeper so for the last 2 days I have woken at 5.30 and taken my temp then. Then waited snoozed for another hour before getting up, although I did take my temp then just in case. The post snooze temps were a bit higher but I have used the first temps in FF ? is this correct? I still haven?t had a Smile OPK so I am a bit worried I might not be ovulating or I have weak hormones Hmm

Maybe I saw your similar post, I am with you that my body is also playing tricks.

Hope everyone has lovely weekends planned

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/01/2012 08:52

Morning all!

We have been a bit quiet in here of late

Bean I hope you had a lovely meal and that it was just what you and DP needed. You review books! What a lovely thing to do!

Sweetie glad the smear went ok, good news about the mucous Grin

Froot CD50? you poor thing. This may just be an annvulatory cycle though, apparently it is completely normal for women to have 2 a year. Remind me, have you just come off of the pill? I know what you mean though, if you weren't TTC, you wouldn't think anything of it Grin

Pop, what is DH like!! My DH's downfall is when he is working the nightshift Wink

Far that is bloody amazing news about the old progesterone! Just think, you now know how lovely your eggs are, so the next one that pops will be the one!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/01/2012 08:53

Ignore the above Sweetie Blush I meant Stasi Grin

I meant to say to Sweetie, have you seen a temp rise yet?

SweetieDoesIt · 28/01/2012 10:00

Morning Maybe
The temp was 97.53 this morning, has been 97.2x all week so not sure if that is considered enough of a rise. Confused I have woken up with a cold too so that may account for the rise too. Did SWI last night just in case Wink

How you feeling today? You walking the pup or visiting the alotment? Hope you have a lovely day.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 28/01/2012 11:17

I don't know how much should be considered a rise either! Glad we can both be newbies together!

I have just got back from the butchers as we were meant to be having my parents over tonight. Then I got a text from my dad saying they have had a huge argument and won't be coming. This has really really upset me [small child emoticon] One of my downfalls is that I am always so worried about other people, and I get worked up on behalf of other people. That and I am a terrible daddy's girl Sad

I will be walking the pup soon though, after I have watched my Saturday Kitchen (thank the lord for sky+). I still feel terrible, like I could sleep forever and ever. I have got an immense lump of pork belly sitting in my fridge if anyone wants to come over Grin

What are you up to Sweetie? And everyone else for that matter? It's chilly outside, so wrap up warm.

Stasi · 28/01/2012 12:07

Well, after all my careful attempts at abstaining and timing SWI, my cycle has gone weird. I'm on CD17 with no temp rise. Unusually late for me, though I've put in some old cycles (early last year) into FF and it tells me I've ovulated later than this before. We have done SWI on CD15 and 17, so I hope we'll catch the egg.

Bean I hope you had a nice evening out with your DP.

Sweetie Yep, you want the first temps you take in the morning, unless you go back to bed for at least 3 hours. FF will give less importance to temps taken at the wrong time of day (at least I think that's what it does, making them open circles instead of dots on the chart), so it shouldn't throw off it's predictions if you're taking them earlier than normal. Keep waiting for a sustained temp rise, and don't worry about -OPK, you may just have missed the surge. I think your temps have gone up enough today to point to ov being yesterday - but it needs to stay up to rule out just a warmer night in bed.

Maybe and Sweetie my phone says: to confirm ovulation there needs to be 5 high temps above the low temp level. All of the higher temps should be at least 0.05 degrees C above the low temps, with one of the high temps at least 0.2 degrees above low temps.

So, just convert that to F and it all makes sense, right? Confused

PopcornMouse · 28/01/2012 15:03

:o glow-in-the-dark dust, bean
So it must have taken her 5 years to conceive no.2? Wow, that's an example of patience to us all, isn't it?

Sweetie that's not abnormal; you can ovulate up to 48 hours after a surge. I'm not sure about your little rise, only time will tell ? but if you've taken paracetamol for your cold, that will lower your temp quite a lot and make it difficult to tell too.

Yes maybe DH is notably worse when he's on nights ? he says it helps him get to sleep?! :o Blush
I'm really sorry to hear about your parents row! I'm sure everything will be fine, but it's a shame you didn't get to have them over. I hope you can have all the dessert to yourself rearrange it for another time :)

Stasi is it worth doing some OPKs and seeing what your surge is like? Might give you some indication of how soon you'll ov?
Glad the smear went ok. I am terrified of them, to the point where I put off going for my last one for about two years, til DH gave me a stern talking to. Then the nurse started with a big speculum, had a few painful rummages, and decided to switch to the small one Shock ? my tummy hurt for 3 days :( :( :( Then it came back inconclusive (I would guess there was blood in the sample from all the rummaging) and I had to go back again after putting it off for another 6 months :( Thank god they're only every 5 years, eh?

Hi froot ! Iirc you're usually pretty regular, aren't you? I hope the GP helps ? are you sure you're not pg?!

Loving all this slanket-talk :o

I am knitting a cardigan. I bought 6 skeins of yarn before christmas, got one out and put the rest away. I finished my ball and couldn't find the other 5, looked everywhere and eventually gave in and bought more. I've just found them. So now I have enough yarn to make two three jumpers the same colour Hmm Typical.
