ChocolateWindmill · 07/02/2012 22:31

Hi ladies I've been TTC for 7 months now and feel ready for some moral support! It was all going quite positively until I lost my job and we've slowed down the TTC which is making me a little sad :(

BUT, I think it's time to get back on the horse, so to speak! I'm stocking up on Folic Acid, I'm actually going to start charting, taking temperatures and suchlike and really work on getting myself knocked up!

JosieSmith1 · 07/02/2012 22:49

Hi, just a quick update - first appt with ivf nurse tomorrow, sg myself!

Raspberry sorry you're feeling down, feel free to pm me if you want a chat, I've been there so many times (hugs)

And welcome to our newbies (and not so newbies)

Nongoddess · 07/02/2012 22:56

All the very best Josie with the first appointment... And good luck raspberry!

Hello mrsmellow I too started ttc in August full of excitement. My manic laugh joins with yours. Really sorry to hear about the job Chocolate and here's to not getting disheartened and keeping going with the folic acid.

Just watching Jeremy trying to deal with the angry breast-implant women on Newsnight. Go for it, ladies!

PearlFisher · 07/02/2012 23:00

Good luck for tomorrow josie

Hi to chocolate and to everyone else :)

I've been properly menkulling today, lots of boob prodding and general procrastination. It's going to be a long week!

Night all

Beeblebear · 08/02/2012 02:05

Good lugk josie! Remember to breathe!

CaveMum · 08/02/2012 06:58

Morning all.

Josie hope the appointment goes well. All appendages are crossed for you.

Picklestar · 08/02/2012 09:19

Good luck Josie!! Hope it goes really well :-)

mrsmellow · 08/02/2012 11:01

Hey Josie hope the appointment went well.
I guess I'll buy a thermometer today cave and see how that goes - I'll be sure to let you know Wink !

CaveMum · 08/02/2012 12:04

Checking in to see how things went for Josie.

Had my blood test back, I have ov'd now, but god knows why so late. Just have to wait out the tww and see.

ChocolateWindmill · 08/02/2012 13:16

Hope the appt went well Josie! All fingers andntoes crossed for you.

Still running a fever from my flu so charting is pointless atm, hopefully I'll feel better by next week so we can safely TTC.

raspberrytipple · 08/02/2012 18:39

Hope all went well today Josie

Not going to say anything else as still feeling like complete shit.

raspberry I'm glad some action is being taken to fix things and it may feel scary but you are getting to the bottom of things I think with the lap and dye etc.

josie what you were saying about being selfish, I don't think it's selfishness at all, taking time for yourself is what you need and will help your mind. Everyone else can bugger off for a while :) do what you need to do. And I hope things went well.

Hello mrsmellow I've seen so many people on these boards getting pg quickly as well. I thought I would first month too but oh well :)

beeblebear I'm 27 :)

chocolatewindmill hugs, this TTC lark can get you down after a while. Try to stay positive x

Well I thought I had some kind of implantation bleed as I was on day 23 from finishing last period but turned out my period came early. I was very hopeful as I had lots of weird symptoms but nope, just the old hag! Ah well. Back to TTC in a few days.

On another note, one of my rats was on death's door the other day. Really thought we were going to lose him, young wee thing as well. And he's made a miraculous recovery. I think he may just have needed a very big poo..... Lols. They are my babies Grin til we get a human one!

My SIL is due in a few weeks. So excited!

Ratata · 08/02/2012 21:23

Big hugs raspberry sometimes things are total balls but sending you big cyber hugs (not in a dodgy way haha)

Ratata · 08/02/2012 22:40

Also, just watched One Born Every Minute and soooooo broody.

Beeblebear · 09/02/2012 00:06

ratata - that show is torture!!!!

All i know is that when I go to L&D i'm bringing an ipod with earphones. I'm not gonna just sit there an listen to all that screaming!

maamalady · 09/02/2012 11:20

Hi all, just checking in with the most recent investigations! I had a pelvic ultrasound yesterday, the sonographer didn't seem concerned about anything, although I do have a haemorrhagic cyst on one ovary, so may well have to go for a rescan in a few weeks time. It was completely fine, no bother, but I wibbled like mad when I got home. I think because in my head ultrasound = pregnant, I was just hoping that she might find a baby in there, because obviously there's no other reason to be there... :( I guess it's nice to know that I actually have got ovaries, though, it does make you wonder when getting pregnant takes so long.

Josie, hope everything went well :)

Hippolyta20 · 09/02/2012 17:54

Hello Ladies

Josie, hope everything went well.

Giraffe, glad to hear everything looks normal for you. Sorry you found it hard though.

Raspberry, sorry you are feeling down. Hope you have something fun to look forward to over the weekend to take your mind off everything.

I still haven't seen AF since I came of the pill on 1/1/12. Starting to stress a bit about it now. Did bleed as soon as I came of but know this isn't a "real" period. Thought she would have turned up by now if everything was ok. Hoping body gets into action soon. Going to the doctors next week for a smear and general chat about TTC.

How long did others take before AF turned up after coming off the pill?

PearlFisher · 09/02/2012 17:57

Hi all.

It's understandable that your ultrasound was emotional evilgiraffe, hope you are feeling better now. Good news that nothing of concern was found and hope the cyst has cleared up if you do go back for a rescan.

Raspberrytipple, sorry you are going through such a tough time :( Hope you feel better when you get your l&d date to focus on.

Sorry about ERTD Ratata, but yay for miraculous rat recovery :)

Mrsmellow hope the temping works out despite your southern hemisphere summer climate.

Chocolate hope you are getting over your flu now and gearing up for SWI.

Cavemum fingers crossed for your TWW.

Beeblebear - sorry forgot to answer your question! I'm 31.

Any news Josie? Hope you are ok.

Not much to tell here, am just waiting and trying not to mental too much!

PearlFisher · 09/02/2012 17:59

Sorry cross post.

Hope AF turns up soon for you Hippolyta. I haven't been on the pill for any length of time, and not at all recently, so afraid I can't help. Good luck :)

littlemisslemon · 09/02/2012 18:24

hippolyta: i came off the pill mid Dec and still nothing and was talking to a friend who stopped in Sept and still not had a period so it can take time. just over 1 month isn't very long! hopefully it'll settle down for all of us awaiting af soon.

josie i hope your appointment went well and that all is progressing as expected.

raspberry i hope you feel better soon. Supportive vibes and Brew heading your way.

beeble im 26.

CaveMum · 09/02/2012 20:14

Unfortunately it can take time after coming off the Pill for your cycles to resume something resembling normality. My experience was come off the Pill in May 2010, breakthrough bleed and then nothing until the following February! I'm one of the extremes though!

Generally speaking it is NHS policy not to investigate absent periods until 6 months have passed, so don't expect your GP to do much at this stage.

mrsmellow · 09/02/2012 20:49

Hello
hippolyta I agree, just over a month is pretty normal, I took 43 days and I don't think that is unusual, but good to check in with GP anyway.
cave that is a seriously long time to wait, you must have been climbing walls

beeble I'm 33

I bought a thermometer ready to take temperatures - the only one they had was mercury (which I'm sure in the UK are not available?!) - and tried it to check it, but got to 35.8 and it wasn't going anywhere, so checked under my arm, to no avail, so washed it and it broke in my hand... so had mercury all over the sink.. the trials and tribulations of TTC just get more exciting all the time Grin So, now temperature in the morning, foiled again - will send DH to buy another one tomorrow...

Just went on Facebook and had one of those moments where everybody seems to be either pregnant or has just had a baby - obviously I know it isn't true, but it can really feel that way sometimes! DH says it is clearly our turn next.. Smile

JosieSmith1 · 09/02/2012 22:14

Hello, sorry it's late, I should have come on sooner! Appt went well, we start a week Sunday. Got my prescriptions so I keep looking at those little bottles hoping that I'll be used to them by the time we start and I won't freak out Hmm. The dr went into a little too much detail about the ops so I was a bit upset about that (they really should give couples couches to sit on for conversations like that rather than two separate chairs Grin) but pulled myself round before she came back in the room and caught me crying. I've got another appt on Thursday to learn how to do the injections. Since then I've been pretty snappy, I don't seem to have much tolerance at the minute, which is quite nice becauuse I get all my own way Blush But I know the people closest to me know why I'm snappy and should cut me some slack. I'm a bit Angry at my pg friend as she's been a bit all about her 'troubles' at the moment but on reflection, and discussion with DH, I'm over reacting so I'm trying not to say anything as I don't want to lose her, but she did say she needs everything she can get to relax, yeah, because everything is so easy for me right now Angry. I'm still totally freaking out about it but distracting myself well. All I need to do now is arrange time off work, if they give me any jip about it god they'll know about it! Told my dad what was going on and that upset me quite a bit because he was really supportive (he's been a bit of an absent father) so that was quite a nice bonding experience.

Anyway, hope you are all well x

mrsmellow · 10/02/2012 05:50

josie glad it all went well and starting so soon and nice to have a 'moment' with your Dad too.
I wouldn't worry about crying in front of the Dr., I'm sure they've seen it all and are well used to it, this must be one of the most emotionally fraught times for anyone.

CEDR · 10/02/2012 09:30

Raspberry- the worst thing about the colleague is that she's also TTC and having no luck (in her mid fourties, and seems to only want a baby because she hates her job...). And so she knows that if I badgered her the way she badgers me.... she'd be really upset.
