Lol I hadn't thought of it like that Imps !! :)

ScrambledSmegs · 30/11/2011 14:33

Oh, that's rubbish Popcorn. Blast the witch. As Imps says though, it's only 7 cycles so not so bad.

Bleeding again Sad. More heavily now and with a lot of cramping/AF symptoms. Rubbish. I'm meant to be ovulating, not sodding menstruating. FUCK. Angry

Stasi · 30/11/2011 14:35

I'd never thought of the statistics like that, but it makes sense. It's not really months of trying it's counting, but cycles. Just so happens the 'average' cycle is a month.

Doesn't change things for me, as my cycles are about a month long. Though I also don't count the first 3 months of coming off the pill as ttc, as we were both clueless then, my cycles were a bit irregular, and I had no idea when Ov was, so SWI was a bit of a stab in the dark.

Imps7 · 30/11/2011 14:35

Sorry, when I said "months" in my previous post, I meant "cycles"...but you got that didn't you?!

Imps7 · 30/11/2011 14:36

Oh Smegs have you booked an appt with your GP?

Munkiii · 30/11/2011 14:39

smegs Sad hope you get an appointment soon

Quick wave to all, hope to be back later xx

ScrambledSmegs · 30/11/2011 14:40

I'm seeing her next thursday, Imps. She's normally great (lovely during miscarriage pre-DD) so worth the wait IMO.

Imps7 · 30/11/2011 14:43

Oh, good, I'm glad you've got a good'un Smegs.

Seriously, what the chuff is it with AF? Why will she not get the CHUFFING MESSAGE??

Yes Stasi agreed - the average time taken to conceive is 6-9 cycles rather than 6-9 calendar months but the assumption is that each cycle = one month. Annoying if you have long cycles as it will feel it's taken much longer to conceive, but it's the cycles that are important, not the months!

PopcornMouse · 30/11/2011 14:46

Oh smegs :(

I've just booked to see the GP re rubella etc to find my lovely GP has left the practise, sob. I hope Dr Bashir has visions of a tight DS9 uniform is as nice.

I know what you meant Imps and you're right, it is really positive :)

PopcornMouse · 30/11/2011 14:47
Stasi · 30/11/2011 14:53

Smegs so sorry the bleeding is back. A nice doctor is a good thing to have, really hope she helps.

Popcorn sorry AF has shown up, I felt certain you had a BFP coming. Still, it's guaranteed next month right? For all of us! Do you do anything to confirm the day of ovulation? I think it's common for cycles to vary in length a bit, but most people have the same LP every time. I advise you not to worry, but know I'd be worrying (and I am worrying) with much less cause. Have you had any tests or anything? If you can, hold off worrying at least as long as having some concrete results to go on.

Did anyone read this? Wifi damages sperm. When it's in a pot sitting next to the wifi anyway. Laptops on the lap are bad for heat reasons, but I'd never considered that wifi might affect it too. There's wifi signals everywhere these days, with all this cloud computing and connectivity push.

Imps Junior is a good 'name' too. DH doesn't get naming it at all. We'll see what happens if when we get pg.

Time for some tea. I still drink it when I'm tired, as if it'll wake me up. Someone forgot to tell my brain that it's caffeine free, and has been for about 2 years!

beangrower · 30/11/2011 15:26

The mice have colonised DP's retro bureau where he has cleverly housed his hifi. The said piece of man-toy is littered with little choccy hundreds and thousands - or should I say mouse poo - we discovered. The terrier is going crazy. I rather like the image of the mice in there, running round and round the stereo, like some 21-st century hickory dickory doc.

Anyway - I'll shut up.

Smegs - sounds worrying for you. I really hope this leads to some serious investigation and a proper solution to your worries.

For you guys who came off the pill earlier this year - does it depend how long you were on the pill? Just wondering, as it's not really a world I was able to enter. The pill = very crazy Beangrower, so I made do with condoms and then had a coil fitted during the two long-term relationships I had prior to THE ONE and we have never used contraception. Tut tut I hear myself thinking - the school brainwashing still there.

Also helpful to think of TTC in terms of cycles. I asked DP when he thought we'd started trying. He said 'the summer' - classically unanalysed perspective from him then. I recently found a little note of my 'fertile dates' from some online fertility calendar that go back to March, but I started my period back in Sept (possibly early Oct) 2010 after breastfeeding started to dry up so am now not sure when to count from. Definitely had to wait til Feb/March for serious conversation with DP about whether he would be happy if I had a BFP, as he had hinted at sticking with 1DC. Then he was away one month. So what do you reckon girls - have we only been trying for 8 cycles or have I been trying to sneak a BFP in since I started cycles again? Hmm

Pop glad you too like to get settled in with some crafty work and crap telly. Most of my crochet has been accompanied by some naff tv series or other.

Agree with Imps - AF should chuff the fock off.

PopcornMouse · 30/11/2011 15:52

Thanks stasi. I've booked to see the GP next week, hoping he'll suggest some blood tests but will wait and see. I also have a checkup with my thyroid specialist in December and according to Dr Google, irregular cycles can be connected to my thyroid activity - though this is unlikely as my levels have been fine this year.

Bean would you like a loan of a cat? My nickname is from all the teensy popcorn-sized fieldmice he likes to catch and eat and throw up . It's all fun and games til they get in your cereal cupboard (or toaster, in stasi's case) :o

I don't think it depends how long you were on the pill; GP said (and Zita confirmed) that many women have increased fertility after coming off the pill. But we've come to the conclusion that it messed with me, too, beans. I had no periods so no PMS-craziness but no labido either Blush. DH is a very happy camper now I'm off them.

DH has just gotten home from work going on about how he has bigger muscles than his friend at school work. Grinning, he just punched his thigh really hard and said, "see? Not a wobble!" Hmm He does make I larf :o

beangrower · 30/11/2011 17:38

Your DH makes me laugh too, Pop. You got a good'un there.

Yes please to cat. But will the cat like the terrier? These little mice are tiny too. Snack-sized. x

possiblemaybebaby · 30/11/2011 17:50

People, you lot chat Grin

Smegs that sucks. I hope it settle down, and I hope next Thursday hurries up for you.

Pop are you sure? Are you sure you are sure? That evil bastard bitch witch just will not get the message will she?

I too have been thinking if names to call my bfp if when I get one. I too would like to think of something different. DH kept calling our niece 'it' long after she was born, and I am not standing for that with our bundle of joy Grin

Pop your DH makes me Grin

Bean if I were to ask my DH that question, I can promise you he wouldn't know. Sometimes I like to give him an on-the-spot quiz with questions such as 'when is my birthday?', 'what is my middle name?' and he gets flustered even then Grin

Oh and Cupcakes I am totally the biggest lush Grin

beangrower · 30/11/2011 17:59

Grin @ Maybe's DH's flusterdom. If only I could be as oblivious as my DP...

GenericDietCola · 30/11/2011 18:16

Oh Popcorn how dare she turn up uninvited like that? Little bihatch. I think it's good to think in terms of the number of cycles you've had though, rather than months. And I do agree that 7 is nothing to worry about although I know it will feel like forever to you. Just think when you get your BFP next month you'll be able to think 'and it only took us 8 cycles!'

Scrambled I hope your lovely doctor can sort you out. It is not right to have full on bleeding at this point, although I have had ov bleeding some cycles, it was very light.

TheLittleFriend · 30/11/2011 20:48

Hugs to pop and scrambled, hope you're both ok.

stasi your swimming is still fab if it's 20 lengths.

Er, I'm not actually keen on counting the cycles it's taken rather than months. It's been nearly a year counting months, but far, far more than 12 cycles due to my silly short ones!!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 30/11/2011 20:50

poppers tell her to get lost she's not welcome!!
Seriously I'm struggling to keep up with you lot. I'm cd4 and the witch has all but gone so I'll be sexing up DH at the weekend. I'd start earlier but he fell off his bicycle yesterday so he's a bit tender and his face is all scraped. I'll let him heal first!
for scrambled

GreenOlives · 30/11/2011 22:34

Evening all!
Munkiii, well done with the SWI despite the tiredness - that's the spirit!

Scrambled sorry to hear about the bleeding, I had some bleeding at ovulation the same cycle that I had my HSG so I put it down to that. On a more serious note my ectopic was only discovered when I had bleeding on CD11, I'd had what I thought was a normal AF so obviously hadn't tested but it turned out I was pregnant (all be it in the wrong place!) So if you have I test handy I would use it, just in case. In answer to your question my local college is in Northampton but I'm sure it's worth investigating your local college to see if they have any similar deals - you deserve a pamper Smile

Little Sad for BFN - still brooking hard for an agreeable stick!

Bean I may have been too impatient with the acupuncture, I'm relatively old (36) and a recurrent miscarrier so I could probably benefit from it, I just didn't feel any different. Don't think it helped that I didn't really bond with the acupuncturist - she was much keener on talking about herself than asking how I was feeling!

Popcorn Sad to the evil AF! I think this is the perfect time for you to indulge in some lovely treatments too. I have just booked for the Xmas Gold special, hour long full body massage and my hour long Derm facial for £22 - love it!

Cupcakes Glad to hear the injection was not too bad. I'm an A&E nurse (for my sins!) so nights and unsocial hours are all part of the deal, I really hate night shifts these days, so difficult to sleep in the day with a noisy 3 year old in the house (despite DHs best attempt to keep him quiet/amuse him!)

Imp fingers crossed for new job so you can stick fingers up to the old one Wink

Well I am cream crackered after my long day today and unfortunately another 12 hr shift looms tomorrow Sad Still, I have got a weeks annual leave after tomorrow so looking forward to that Smile Perk of the job is that I can access all my results etc so I checked my Day 2 tests from this cycle today and all seems well, in fact they have improved since my last ones in March so maybe all the vitamins are actually helping!

Catch you later, waves to anyone I've missed.
x

SweetieDoesIt · 01/12/2011 08:12

Morning all
You were all very chatty yesterday, i have had a quick skim and loads happening.

Popcorn sorry to hear AF has turned up very uninvited - evil witch that she is
Scrambled hope things have calmed down for you, but you must get it checked out if it continues. I know nice Drs are always better but it might be worth a visit to not so nice Dr or even a drop in centre if you have one near you. Sorry to go on, lecture over.
Have hope DH is ok and you can encourage SWI soon
Stasi swimming is so good for you, me and DH have started going for power walks after tea, not sure it is doing us any good but it can not hurt and we get time for a good chat rather than distracted by TV or internet
Imps hope you get the job confirmation soon, it is frustrating not knowing
Bean how is the mouse catching going?

Finally Little or Whims any news? Still brooking very hard for both of you

I am coming out the other side of AF and looking forward to weekend away with DH, bit early for SWI not SWOI though Blush but still really looking forward to some down time.

possiblemaybebaby · 01/12/2011 08:32

Morning Sweetie morning all!

Sorry to hear about your ectopic Olives

Hurrah for sexing Have That'll be the last you see of AF, hope you made the most of her Grin

How are you Pop?

Where is Solars? Has anyone seen her?

Hope Far is immersed in amazing food in India.

I have the next two days off. Hurrah! Tree is being decorated, and think I am going to make my Christmas pud!

PopcornMouse · 01/12/2011 09:15

bean we had two squeakers in the night (so I am tired today) and I have just spent half hour cleaning up piles of guts Hmm It's a good job he's cute. Not sure about the terrier, maybe you could train him up? :o

Thanks for the kind words, maybe & generic - I'm sure I'm sure :( And AF is soooooo heavy today, too - sob ? must be the extra week long cycle I had!

have that is very generous of you, tee hee :o
Poor DH fell off his bike a few years ago and someone got out of their car and gave him a lecture about going too fast Shock

Glad to hear your tests have improved Olives. Do you have any plans for your week off?

Imps7 · 01/12/2011 09:56

Hurrah for Christmas preparations Maybe!! I'm having a Christmas Prep day on Saturday - decs going up, cards being written, the first few presents being wrapped, stuffing, sausages in bacon and mini quiches being made and popped in the freezer ready for the Christmas Day we are hosting for friends on 17 Dec - I can't wait!!

Mmmmm, mouse guts - yum Hmm That's the nice thing about Buns - you never need to clean up animal entrails after them!

6 DPO here. My left nipple is ever so slightly sensitive but my boobaloobs are in general showing no signs of pain. According to my Law of Boobs, this must mean that I am pregnant. Hurrah!

Imps7 · 01/12/2011 10:02

Urrggghh my green tea tastes like fish this morning. Definitely pregnant. Double hurrah!
