Wow so much to catch up on!

Love the ideas on what to say when people are really nosy ask when we're having kids. I usually just say one day, though I have thought of saying "well not in the next nine months".

Not sure what we're doing for NYE, last year we had had a few friends and kids here, but they all organised and cooked the food, we just provided the house and room to sleep on the floor. It was fun, if a bit hectic Xmas Grin

bean sorry to hear about the test results but don't give up hope yet. I'm sure the doc hasn't taken our brooking into account Xmas Grin

whim I love your chicken. I'm trying to think of a door I need to prop open so I can have one too Xmas Grin

I'm feeling a teeny bit sad today as I've sold my flat in England, I'd owned it for 10 years, though not lived in it for the past 2. It was lovely, and it was mine. But now we have a lovely house here and I can pay off a big chunk of the mortgage here with the profit.

Good thing I'm not symptom spotting as I don't have any, at all, nothing. Anyway as this seems to have turned into an epic post I'll stop and get some hoovering done before DP gets home.

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 14/12/2011 17:46

bean little dog goes to groomer every 6 weeks costing more than I pay for my hair doing and we bath her in-between. Fortunately she is very placid, DH says it is like owning a cushion Xmas Shock, and doesn't tear around but she still bumps into the odd thing.

beedle sorry to hear you feeling a bit sad about selling your flat, glad you can see the positives in the situation too.

Not much to report on the symptom spotting here either - boob ache has calmed down.

IMaybeanElf · 14/12/2011 18:05

Bean good news about the results, no? I think there is nowt all to worry about, and there will soon be a seedling (see what I did there Xmas Smile ) sprouting away.

Oh Sweetie I can't wait to give the pup his first bath, going to be hilarious!!

Remember people, no symptom=a symptom.

Beedle sorry you are sad about your flat. It must be strange knowing that that was the 'final' thing ifkwim?

Whims love, love love your chicken!! I would love one, but I guarantee Otis would have it shredded in seconds Xmas Grin

I can't remember what everyone else has said Xmas Blush feel like I am on another planet today!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 14/12/2011 19:01

Bean, listen here . "Low fertility" is not synonymous with "no fertility". Just keep on at it - if it happens, it happens; if it doesn't, it doesn't. And if it doesn't, you have other options open to you - I know you're not keen on the IVF idea, but what about the medication-wot-is-like-clomid-but-wot-is-not-clomid (sorry, can't remember the name without scrolling up). You really don't have to make any decisions about anything right now - certainly don't give up hope of having another beanlet and definitely certainly don't give up trying.

Whim - mega impressed. Did you use a sewing machine or sew it by hand? I don't have a sewing machine, although did see a nice looking one in a charity shop for £70 today which I quite fancied. Having not used one since Year 10 textiles, I don't think I could justify buying a new one.

Beedle, sorry about your flat. Am sure you must have some lovely memories of it.

Right, I am awaiting an Ocado delivery and then I am starting the food preps for Saturday (Christmas lunch with friends). TBH I could do with going to sleep, but cook I must.

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 14/12/2011 20:01

Don't be feeling too sorry for me, I didn't have to sell it, it felt more sensible to sell it and invest the money in my now home. It was just as maybe said it feels very final.

We've put up our Christmas tree tonight, no decorations yet, that's my job tomorrow. Xmas Grin Presents are all wrapped, and my parents arrive in a week so I've got loads of cleaning to do Xmas Sad (only about the cleaning)

beangrower · 14/12/2011 20:40

Thank you Elves and Imps. I do like a good shake by the shoulders from time to time and you are kind to make the effort Xmas Smile. Beanlet2 is defo still a possibility in the next 6 months I reckon. IVF isn't for us - I have a good friend (aged 45) who just had IVF twins born at 26 weeks. One has fluid on the brain. She has lost her sight, bizarrely. All very worrying and she took 5 years to get to this point too. I love her but in my heart I feel that she has taken a big risk and it's all looking v tough at the mo'. I wouldn't wish this on my DP and DS. But of course this is much easier to say with my little beanlet safely born (though v poorly ce soir with hacking cough, slight temp and an earlier puke Sad - I'm a bit worried but have tried to leave him in bed so hopefully he can get some sleep; or should I be cuddling him all night long...? Will give it 30 mins and it will have to be bed for me with him if he isn't able to get off to sleep).

Beedle - good to move on and invest in your now life, though a girl's first flat is a v important place indeed. Good luck with the cleaning (but isn't that what parental visits are for - ie, set your mum to it with the duster?!)

Sweetie - like the dog=cushion analogy. Ours is more like a shagpile rug - that could do with going to the dry cleaners to boot.

Imps hope you enjoy the cooking and a good sleep.

Well - sending you all an ad hoc brook, just in case. Nightie-night.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 15/12/2011 07:08

Morning all!

Oooh I had the best night's sleep last night - still feeling properly tired this morning though - would so love to "work from home" again if I thought I could get away with it.

Sorry DS is poorly Bean and really sorry to hear about your friend - what a nasty shock for them. Brooking no argument that they all come out of the other side happy and healthy.

Bean - have you tried Preseed? May be worth a shot as I seem to remember you've mentioned in the past that you don't get much EWCM. It seems to have had a good success rate on this thread in the past.

Right, I'm going to get myself a cuppa.

IMaybeanElf · 15/12/2011 08:07

Morning preggos!

Glad you had a good seep Imps I did too, though I too am shattered. It would be sooooo nice to bake wrk from home today Xmas Wink

That's so sad about your friend Bean totally understand your decision about IVF though. How is DS this morning? Much better I hope.

Have fun restive decorating Beedle I want to get a few more Christmassy bits at the weekend. Right, off to work I go to plan the weekend's festive baking

beangrower · 15/12/2011 09:13

Glad to hear you are rested and inspired to bake. That's the spirit.

Beanlet seems fully recovered after a dreadful night. Kids are amazing like that.

Yes I feel so sorry for my friend and her family. I haven't heard the latest so must find out. IVF involves powerful drugs clearly, but they can't have anticipated this.

Thanks Imps re pressed suuggestion. Have used for a couple of months.

Have festive frolics all.

beangrower · 15/12/2011 09:15

Preseed suggestion that should be! X

DeckTheHallsWithPopcornMice · 15/12/2011 09:23

Does anyone have a decent cheese scone recipe? Or something like that? I'm meeting some friends on Saturday and I've been instructed to bring something for a "shared tea" and that's all I can think of?

beedle ?not in the next nine months? - that's a corker! I think that will be my staple reply this Christmas :o
Sorry about your flat, but like you say, smaller mortgage = fantabulous, especially with a baby on the way Wink

bean I don't know, I think anything that's not negative is positive iykwim? You're defo still a fertile wee bean-machine. It'll happen in no time, I'm sure of it! And, what Imps said :o
How is the beanlet this morning, any better? :(

Imps £70 is barrrrgainous, but be prepared to have it serviced (£30) as it won't have been used for a while :)

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 15/12/2011 09:28

Morning Ladies
Bean good to hear the poorly DS is making rapid improvement, is DP home soon? May be DS can sense this, aiding his recovery?

Am working for home this morning - my work Christmas lunch this aft. So am taking packages to post office and popping to Clintons for family cards . Me thinks this is all allowed on WFH days??? Xmas Wink

Stasi · 15/12/2011 11:08

Sigh, I'm looking at charts ending in pg with implantation dips. To see if I'm still in with a chance. It's interesting to look through, most dips seem to be around 5DPO, but there are some charts similar to mine. Of course, there's no way of seeing what the previous charts of these women look like, so it's not actually that helpful.

I think it's all over this month, chart is here but as AF hasn't actually shown up I'm indulging in a quick flight of fancy. I felt quite positive last night. I had a bit of indigestion (even though I'd taken my indigestion drugs), felt a bit bloated, and had a touch of constipation (very, very unusual for me with my history), and have been feeling sick for the last 3 days. I also didn't get a spotty breakout this month when I usually would. AF almost always starts first thing in the morning, on the day my temp drops. Anyway..

Bean glad DS is feeling better, kids are very good at bouncing back. I wish I still could :) One bad night of sleep and I'm tired for a full week afterwards.

Imps glad you slept really well, though tired after sleeping well = BFP? ;) I'd like to get myself a sewing machine, but I've got a little JML one I bought a few years ago and never use. However, I'm sure if I had a proper one I'd use it more, right?

Maybe I also have to plan some Christmas baking, I love filling the house with the spicy, festive smells.

Popcorn I tend to just use BBC Good Food for recipes. They usually have a selection of different ones you can chose from, and comments to help you see what might be the best. Of course, you might have to bake a few types and eat them all to see?

Sweetie sounds like an excellent use of a morning working from home. I'm sure you are thinking very hard about your job, right?

IMaybeanElf · 15/12/2011 11:11

Stasi this is all looking so promising!! When are you planning to confirm? Xmas Grin

I too second bbc good food Pop I love it.

Bean so pleased beanlet is better

Sweetie that is my idea of a day off. And very productive too Xmas Smile

beangrower · 15/12/2011 12:14

Stasi 9dpo is the average for implantation. ooh sounds like we have a preggo on our hands.

Anyone see panorama on adoption last night. Not a dry eye in beanland.

Thanks beanlet is tucked up again. Gallons of green snot but no temp.

NMM cheese scones. See if you can find a HUGH F-W recipe online? X

DeckTheHallsWithPopcornMice · 15/12/2011 12:20

Good idea stasi - cheese and sweetcorn scones? Don't mind if I dooo!
I think 13dpo is too late for a successful implantation but it's not unusual to have a random dip in your cycle . That AF hasn't arrived is a great sign - your temp will sky rocket tomorrow, I reckon :o

Cooking homemade steak and ale pie tonight, DH's favourite - and he is a hard man to please, food-wise. Generally, if it's not pizza-shaped, he's not interested :o

DeckTheHallsWithPopcornMice · 15/12/2011 12:23

No EWCM in the popcorn household, which has me a bit Confused - usually I get loads. Ovulation is expected on Saturday. Unless my body has now decided it likes 38 day cycles, in which case it'll be the following Saturday :(

beangrower · 15/12/2011 12:44

Confusing Pop... Have fun with SWI tho. Pie sounds delicious. X

farfallarocks · 15/12/2011 13:22

oooh just popping in to say hooray for stasi and keeping everything crossed!!

Also I can;t remember who had questions abotu thyroid, was it smegs?
I have just had my latest results and my TSH is down to 2 from 3.7 and whilst they can vary a bit I am wondering if this is down to brazil nuts and b vits!!!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 15/12/2011 13:31

Stasi any sign of AF yet? You'll be officially late tomorrow if she doesn't show today won't you?? Oooohh exciting!

Right, we need a new thread - who's going to do the honours?

Stasi · 15/12/2011 13:39

I have to know if I'm pg before the weekend, as I can't do my Monday appointment if I am. So I'll test by then at the latest. However, if I don't get AF today I'll almost certainly test again tomorrow.

I started tracking my temps both orally and fanjolly this month (different thermometers!), and the oral graph hasn't dipped below the baseline. I've put that chart on as a photo on here. I'd say my usual baseline was 36.5, and a usual AF temp is 36.4, and highest temp around 36.7. So there's not much in it really.

DH said yesterday morning he's excited that I might be pg, I think that's made me much more hopeful than normal. I want to be pg for him.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 15/12/2011 13:44

You have very neat oral temps Stasi - mine were all over the place! My fanjo is a much more consistent temperature (I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know Xmas Grin).

SO hoping that this is your month! When does your DH get his SA results back?
