Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The rats are all going to be jolly well smacked, we are going to have lots of festive BFPs and possibly a mince pie (or three)

I think that our New Year New Tactic should be to become master archers so we can shoot arrows at AF from miles away. That'll keep the old slapper away.

Cake - one work for you: Yes!

Imps7 · 09/12/2011 16:42

Munkii she's here now - it's funny, I always get spotting the night before, and proper blood flow the next day. Last night - no spotting so I was expected it today, but blood flow started pretty much as soon as I got to work. The body is so weird!

We deffo need some good BFP news before Christmas, so I'm brooking madly for everyone, even those of us who are on Day 1 of our pregnancies :)

Imps7 · 09/12/2011 16:42

expecting it today...

PopcornMouse · 09/12/2011 16:50

I'm not due til Jan 1st now (and fyi, getting a BFP would be a GREAT start to the year, Universe!). Who's left to test in the meantime? I'm hoping all the BFNs have been bagged and the next one to test will draw a winning pee stick... :o

I've just bought a very expensive new spinning wheel. Very chuffed. Hoping it comes Monday

PopcornMouse · 09/12/2011 16:52

Oh, and thanks for that far - I've googled and can't find anything to day dtd every day is worse than every other day. I think I read what I wanted to read, perhaps?? My DH will be pleased... Confused

possiblemaybebaby · 09/12/2011 16:57

Ooooohhhh Pop I am so jealous. I've always wanted to have a go at spinning my own yarn!

I am loving your idea Imps perhaps lace the arrows with some TTX? Make sure she really gets the message

Thanks Munk you always have wise words.

I always have spotting too Imps sometimes a few days before, but absolutely nowt this month. Maybe my uterus has gone on a festive holibob?!

Munkiii · 09/12/2011 17:03

Aw sorry to hear that imps Sad

Yy to the bow and arrow idea btw!

How exciting pop hope it arrives soon.

We tend to do every other day or every third depending on DH as he works away some of the week. This month I know we dtd two days before the positive OPK, the day of the OPK and then again three days later and then last night for fun!

maybe I have one already, this is no.2 Blush If you're ever in Wiltshire, I will happily teach you :)

Stasi · 09/12/2011 17:54

Sorry for the disagreeable stick maybe but it's not over yet. Sorry for AF turning up for others. Sorry I can't read back easily, and i don't want to remember wrong and jinx people.

Loving the idea of Christmas indulgences and New Year BFP for all. I'm not expecting AF next week, if she turns up then i also have a colonoscopy to look forward to on the 19th. It's my yearly check up, so i can't complain. I like the reassurance.

After an awful waste of time travelling into London for a canceled meeting, i'm now at my work party. Will post more tomorrow and catch up properly.

possiblemaybebaby · 09/12/2011 19:17

Oh Stasi what a long journey for nothing. Hope you are having fun at your Christmas party Xmas Smile

Pop I am finding an excuse to visit Wiltshire as we speak Xmas Grin Do you spin all your yarn that you knit with?

Far I am going to try and hold out testing till at least the middle of next week but only because I have no tests in the house

TheLittleFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 09/12/2011 20:03
ScrambledSmegs · 09/12/2011 20:14

Jeez, I need a drink. I have had a day and a half, full of a freezing cold picnic in the playground where I also prevented a theft of DD's sandpit toys, holiday planning, the trip to hospital for blood test, a manic toddler playdate and as a finale, DD pooed in the bath. Where's the gin?

The blood test was easy though. There was no queue at all, I swear the guy taking my bloods was so excited to see someone that he nearly hugged me. Apparently I can call up my GP and get my results on Monday, however I don't really know what use that will be as I probably won't be able to interpret them. But yay! I'm getting results less than a week after seeing my GP. Very happy Xmas Smile

possiblemaybebaby · 09/12/2011 20:26

Ah, Smegs that fantastic news!! Hurrah for the NHS Xmas Grin

Oooooh, loving the name change Little!

The dog is actually chilled out for once. DH is working overtime tonight, so it's me, the pup, a glass of wine and a huge pile of ironing Xmas Grin

Imps7 · 09/12/2011 20:27

Wowzers Smegs what a day!! So pleased about the swift turnaround of results for you!

A spinning wheel Popcorn?? Wow! I thought they only existed in fairytales!

Am exhausted this evening - having a lovely calm evening wrapping presents, sipping sherry and watching Nigella's Christmas Kitchen on DVD. Bliss. Shame OH will be home soon to ruin it!

PopcornMouse · 09/12/2011 21:15

Omg smegs what a horror of a day! Xmas Shock but look, MN has fixed the smilies! :o

Stasi what a nightmare! I hope you have fun at the party, at least :)

Imps yes it's quite niche Blush but it's really relaxing. This is what I've just bought (easy to store and take to guild meetings) and this is the one I've had for about 4 years (and which was waaaay cheaper when I bought it)

maybe no, it's quite time consuming so I only tend to spin for things like mittens -- I'd love to be able to spin a whole jumper's worth, but it'd probably take me months Shock

PopcornMouse · 09/12/2011 21:17

Funnily enough, though, I used to keep my wheel in front of the living room window (it's a bay, so nice nook for it) - one day someone was walking down the street and I saw them walk past, run back, point and exclaim "its a spinning wheel!" before seeing me and dashing off :o

difficulttimes · 09/12/2011 21:41

Just a Question,

What are all the different threads for with long titles throbs my head lol. ?? its like which one do I post in!

Congrats Carlita!

a week left till i ttc smile

feels wierd.

SmegTheHalls · 09/12/2011 22:29

Umm... difficult, I've been racking my brains and cannot for the life of me work out who Carlita is. Are you mixing up your ttc threads? Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Popcorn I too would have been very excited to see a spinning wheel in someone's window. It may well have been me!

...

...

...

Pssst... it is I, ScrambledSmegs, in my Christmas disguise.

difficulttimes · 09/12/2011 22:31

Sorry I copy & pasted from another thread

just wondering really

All those other threads with really long titles? what are they for I'm really Confused!!

SmegTheHalls · 09/12/2011 22:47

difficult, as far as I understand it there are lots of different types of ttc threads. The long titles are about identifying us and luring others in so that we may assimilate them mwah hah hah .

Besides us (perennially positive, rodent-bashing baking queens) there are many others - see the BESH's (acronym for Barren Evil Selfish Hags - name courtesy of the Daily Mail), Emmsy's Weebles Xmas Confused and the Just Miscarried ready to try agains (self-explanatory) for example.

I think the trick is to check out a few of the threads and get a feel for them. That way you can find the thread which is the best fit for you and where you're happiest. Of course it doesn't have to be just one Xmas Smile

possiblemaybebaby · 09/12/2011 23:14
Xmas Grin

Pop they look beautiful.

Imps that sounds like my kind of evening. I'll be there in 10.

I have spent my evening ironing. My back is now in bits, but i feel very smug and satisfied that Mount Iron is no longer Xmas Grin

By the way, I don't know if any of you rat smackers where listening to radio 1 this morning, but the were taking the mick out of The Christmas Song. Please listen to it on iplayer. After my BFN I though I would be really miserable, but it was so funny I was crying with laughter. Whilst walking to the train station. So I looked a bit special Xmas Hmm

SmegTheHalls · 09/12/2011 23:17

A-ha! 'Weebles wobble but they don't fall down'! Love it.

IMaybeanElf · 09/12/2011 23:18
SmegTheHalls · 09/12/2011 23:52

Oops sorry, strange cross-post with maybe there! I'm a 6music person in the mornings maybe, so I'll have to check out iplayer. I do love a good giggle.

Suits you, missus!
