Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

The rats are all going to be jolly well smacked, we are going to have lots of festive BFPs and possibly a mince pie (or three)

Welcome to all!

Grab a glittery tinsel wrapped ramekin, grab some mulled wine and join our very lucky thread.

Didn't hurt much at all Popcorn (for the reasons i mentioned in my last post) It is worth reading that and The Secret and you can take out of them what works best for you.

Anyway, i'm off out to a meeting will hopefully try and catch up with you all later

GenericDietCola · 08/12/2011 11:57

Humph. Maybe's still not confirmed the blindingly obvious.

Glad your appt went well Scrambled - you will get there with help from your luffly GP.

Popcorn I am brooking no argument that you will be clear and assertive in describing your feelings and frustration over TTC to your GP so that they will take you seriously and test your thyroxine and everything else!

Any news from you Imps?

Welcome back Cupcakes glad you had a wonderul time. I had a lousy 30th (bad time in my life), so I'm just looking forward to having an amazing 40th instead!

Imps7 · 08/12/2011 12:03

Popcorn I read a tip from a GP once (can't think where - some women's mag probably) which said that some GP's respond more favourably to people who have clearly done their homework, and that going along with a written document with questions/symptoms/issues all set out neatly (well, it didn't say neatly - I'm just adding that in as I'm a bit of a neat freak) is more likely to get you the support that you're looking for. Dunno how true that is though.

Cupcakes your trip sounds wonderful! I've only been to Germany once (Berlin - absolutely loved it) but OH lived there for a year and is keen to go back soon (as am I).

No PIACR from me - am waiting until after AF due date, so probably Monday. I think I have AF cramps today, but I'm really not sure as the pain from my back is radiating everywhere and potentially covering them up!

Hot coals? No thanks - I'll just stick with a nice fluffy pair of slippers thanks! Maybe is it you who has the White Company Inuit slippers? I had a pair a couple of years ago and they were faaaaaaab! Going to get another in the Jan Sales!

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 12:15

Imps I always worry I'll look like a total fruitcake doing that - but I will need to write down my cycles anyway, so I will give it a shot and report back all scientific-like on its effectiveness :o

possiblemaybebaby · 08/12/2011 12:21

Yes Imps twas me! I loff them so so much. If I could wear them to work I would Xmas Grin

Smegs that is amazing. Well done nice GP. So pleased you are going to get answers now, and, as everyone has said, HSG=BFP. Fact.

Pop hope all goes well for you this evening too.

Have fun at your meeting Solars

Sorry about the lack of smiley faces Bean and Olives. I know some people never get a positive on them, si I wouldn't worry Xmas Smile

*Sweetie, how is you cleaning work going? Xmas Wink

Sorry to disappoint Generic If no AF, I will probably PIACR tomorrow. I normally get up around 7 ish, just so you all know Xmas Grin

possiblemaybebaby · 08/12/2011 12:21

I apoplogise again for my lack of spelling ability. It's like my brain and hands aren't connected Xmas Blush

scarletfingernail · 08/12/2011 12:44

I'm still here lurking and getting excited about Maybe's imminent BFP announcement. Just think Maybe this time tomorrow you will know. It's all very exciting.

I have read the whole thread, but it's been so long since I posted and so much has happened since I've forgotten loads already.

Have sorry to read about your house fire and your DH's growth Sad I'm brooking that his medication will work very quickly and you will get a New Year BFP.

Scrambled HSG means only one thing. BFP announcement very soon. Loads of us have had our BFP's very soon after the HSG, I'm brooking it'll happen for you too. I had one the month before my BFP with DS, the doc reckons it might have flushed out a tiny blockage.

Your holiday sounds fab farfalla, and how lovely you were able to forget about TTC.

I hope you have a lovely birthday weekend cupcakes and your DH has a great surprise planned for you.

Hope the rest of you all all good and not letting any of those rats escape.

I had my 20 week scan last week Xmas Shock (How did that come round so quick?) All looks well with the bean Smile which is still unidentified as we chose not to find out if boy or girl. 19 weeks to go.....

possiblemaybebaby · 08/12/2011 12:50

Scarlet Xmas Grin

20 weeks Xmas Shock That has flown by! Over half way now, so exciting! Glad all is well with miniscarlet Xmas Grin

I think I am more scared that it may be a BFN than excited about it being a BFP Xmas Sad

beangrower · 08/12/2011 13:13

Well Smegs I think we are all v Xmas Envy of your HSG. Great that you're getting that done - you must be feeling pleased that you are going to find out more. SOOO many ladies get up the stick after one of those numbers. I shall have to go private if it comes to it as I have absolutely no luck with 2 different GPs about NHS investigations.

Solars - there is a moon/fertility theory knocking about. You are most likely to reach your peak fertility each month when the phase of the (current) moon matches the phase that you were born under. I was born bang on a full moon (and a surprising majority of babies are) so I'm most likely to pop an egg around full-moon time now I'm all grown up. And you can pop twice they say. Once mid cycle ish and again with the moon phase match.

Probably a loud of codswallop with custard, but there you go. My conception/birth of DS didn't seem to do any of the above. Xmas Smile

Have decided that I was behaving like the walking wombeded these last few months. Far too neg. So can you all prod me when I'm being a whining-Wendy? Am not planning to walk on coals soon, so that should help with the whining.

Let's all write our letters to the universe. Who wants to set up a template? "Dear Universe. Gimme a BAYBEEEEE. Please. Thank you. Very. Much. Love, _" - does that cover it?

Pop been meaning to commiserate over your poor DHs lost guitar playing. Was a bit heartbreaking reading that. Sad Your upcoming family of little beans will have to get musical to carry on the dream.

Oh and happy impending 30th Cupcakes - it's the perfect decade for having a bean or two, so your BFP must be closing in on us. Hurray.

scarletfingernail · 08/12/2011 13:20

I know Maybe, I was like that too. Even after I'd PIAR I kept my eyes tight shut so that I wouldn't have to see the BFN. Obviously I had to look eventually Xmas Grin AF was due yesterday though right?

I can't get the hang of these festive smileys. I keep forgetting, remembering, then forgetting again.

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 13:43

Thanks bean he took it really hard; it's taken a few years for him to get back to himself iykwim, as he felt it was part of his identity. His younger brother is in a band now and is very good, so his guitars have gone to a good home at least.

Oooo I was born 2 days after a waxing moon

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 13:44

Omg bean, I am due to ovulate on the waxing moon this month, how freaky is that? Shock :o

beangrower · 08/12/2011 13:53

There you go Pop - ride the moon's happy wave and lots of positive vibes should come your way. This is great news. It looks like my egg is holding off to closer to the full moon as I have not had a smiley face and in the last 8-9 months of testing I have had loads of cd12 smiley faces and just one cd15 smiley face. Sat - full moon day - will be cd15 for me. So - let's see!! (Unless I don't get a smiley face at all, oh dear.)

Tell me my charting friend - as FF is not easily giving me the basic and quick answer - my BBT has been clustered around 36.3 over the last few days, so should it rise by at least .3C to show the thermal shift? I wish I'd got a Farenheit thermom now but I didn't so that's how it goes.

beangrower · 08/12/2011 13:57

Don't be scared of the pissy-sticks Maybe - they are only sticks, not stones. You have a gamut of prego symptoms so it's looking great. The winner must be your high temp?

SweetieDoesIt · 08/12/2011 14:12

Solars I have The Secret book too and made an image board to help visualisation. I found it the other day and the images on there are really my life now - I know it sounds corny but my life is now in a completely different place. Just one image left to go, I am sure you call imagine what that is.

Working from home cleaning going well my Mum popped around to help me out Xmas Blush

Smegs glad you getting fast tracked, that all sounds very good news. Was defo waiting for the nice Dr.

Hope Stasi is ok and not blown inside out, it is very, very bad in Scotland at the moment.

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 14:13

I don't know tbh bean, I let FF do the work for me Blush I just know it needs to be a sustained rise lasting at least 3 days; I think that's more important than the actual degree increase iykwim?
www.fertilityfriend.com/home/chartywarty

beangrower · 08/12/2011 14:33

Cheers - no worries. Yes - I saw the rise should be sustained for 3 days. My temp dipped a bit today despite wearing thermals in bed last night Xmas Grin so I suspect that DP is on duty tonight and tomorrow. He might as well be as we won't be getting any after Sunday, and now's the time to get jiggy if one is just aiming for random mid cycle sex. Of course, I realise that this is not the month to SWI, seeing as AF will won't arrive on Xmas day, but I'm afraid I haven't got it in me to give up even if only for a month off!

We are off to the National Maritime Museum Festive Market - do you think that will get DP in the mood? Xmas Smile

Now you go TELL that GP. I am off to crochet and visualise. x

possiblemaybebaby · 08/12/2011 14:33

Ah, Beany

beangrower · 08/12/2011 14:39

I luff being a beany, thanks Maybe. Yes - the moon theory is cool. I feel weirdly attached to the mOOn and would like the theory to be proved true.

Please try to put MCs out of your mind though it must be v hard. You will get a sticker and I suspect you already have.

I really must go and relax - must relax (like my oxymoron there?) - so TTUT (ta ta until tomorrow) my lovely Brookers.

farfallarocks · 08/12/2011 15:41

maybe your resolve is amazing and I do understand the reluctance to start all the mentalling. We are all here for you and brooking like mad for you, you KNOW its going to be a BFP don't ya? And there is absolutely no reason why this one should not be a sticky little beanlet.

imps so you are defo not out the race now are you?

thank you for all your words of encouragement yesterday and sorry for being so negative. I am back to no brooking today in earnest and I am TAKING NO PRISONERS we are all getting our BFPs this month ok??

muunki welcome back and hope you have a bit more success thsi month!

hello to sweetie!!

I still have horrible cramps and brown spotting but no AF, this is day 3.
Not sure what to do about testing as I know I need to know early to start the treatment but I really don;t want to see a BFN and for AF to come marching in minutes later. Argh!

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 15:44
PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 15:45
farfallarocks · 08/12/2011 15:47

Ah thanks pop, when is your GP appointment?

PopcornMouse · 08/12/2011 15:48

Twenty minutes!

farfallarocks · 08/12/2011 16:04

Good luck! We are brooking no argument that you get the results you want!
