Evenin' All

My dp was a bit of a computer game addict before we had dd and I worried a bit when I was pregnant with her that he wouldn't change. In the first few months I do think he found the transition from being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want quite difficult, but he rarely plays them now. And if he does, it is certainly never when she's awake!

Bean in answer to your question we were trying seriously for 9 months, but no contraception for a year. Also, I have never really noticed much in the way of EWCM. I do notice changes over the month, but nothing that much resembles egg white! We have been using preseed for about six months though.

I've booked my gp appointment to let them know I'm pregnant and it's next Monday. Nothing else to report, which is probably a good thing.

HaveYourselfAFaithyChristmas · 05/12/2011 20:58

I am in my luffly new jammies. They are soooo soft and scrummy. I popped them on the radiator while I had a bath with DH since my Dad has a huge corner bath with room for two then climbed into them. Lush.
DH is very relieved that the PS3 survived the fire - it was in a room well away from the kitchen along with a medium size tv. We have put them in our bedroom at Dad's, it keeps him sane. COD mostly but fortunately for me he never plays for more than a couple of hours at a time.

possiblemaybebaby · 05/12/2011 20:58

Little that's great news. Please let us know how you get on Xmas Smile

My DH isn't really a games console kinda-guy either Bean though he does have an xbox. But it mainly sits gathering dust Xmas Grin

I am the picture of domestic bliss. Baking mince pies, making tomorrow's dinner and having a glass of the mulled stuff Xmas Grin

BeedleTheBard · 06/12/2011 05:20

Morning ladies

I just wanted to share with you all that I had EWCM yesterday, normally I'm not sure if its that or leftovers from SWI, but as I had been away we hadn't managed any of that so it was definitely EWCM (hope that wasn't TMI ) Xmas Blush. And it snowed overnight, but i don't think these two things are connected in any way Xmas Grin

Oh and my DP also loves his computer games.

Imps7 · 06/12/2011 07:18

Beedle are you sure they're not connected? Xmas Grin Great news about EWCM - a surefire sign that you're good to go.

Maybe how did your mince pies turn out? I've never made them before as I'm not that keen on them, but I've seen a recipe which involves a frangipane topping and I love frangipane so I may attempt those and see how I get on.

A clear and definite BFN from me this morning - good to know one way or the other so that I don't need to spend the day thinking about it!

Oooohhhhh it's so cold out there today - really wish I could work from home again but I don't think I can realistically get away with it two days in a row though. Hurrumph.

possiblemaybebaby · 06/12/2011 08:00

Oh Imps that sucks. But don't worry. You will soon be getting a pee stick that agrees with you and Fedex Xmas Grin

The pies are good, DH has just sampled one for me (he has come off of nights, so more like dinner than breakfast). I made the frangipane ones last week!! They were amazing, but I had run out of ground almonds, so just made normal ones instead. I love making them, especially the mincemeat as it smells so amazing.

Beedle snow is most definitely related to EWCM. I know they say we are meant to be in sync with the moon, but maybe you are in sync with varying forms of precipitation Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

SweetieDoesIt · 06/12/2011 08:13

Imps sorry to hear about the disagreeable pee stick

Beedle you must be starting a trend for EWCM, as I can report tons same here. It may be snow related as snowing here "up North" at moment. Seriously I am a bit concerned as only CD9 - is this not a bit early for EWCM? It usually shows up CD12-14. Xmas Confused

Imps7 · 06/12/2011 08:17

Oooh very glad to hear positive reviews about the frangipane mince pies!

I noticed recently that the onset of AF for 3 cycles in a row coincided with me seeing a particular friend of mine who I didn't see on any other days of my cycle. He is now officially banned from my life Xmas Grin.

Biscuitsandtea · 06/12/2011 08:21

Boo for a disagreeable pee stick Imps

We'll find you that agreeable one though. 11dpo is still early in any case. So there.

In the meantime have some chocolate or mince pies. I'm hoping to make some mince pies with DS later which could be interesting....

beangrower · 06/12/2011 08:30

Hi Little - thanks for letting us know. I find it really encouraging knowing that patience and tonsillitis pays off in the end. But I'm sure a year of TTC felt quite tough on you. So excited for you and enjoy your GPs appointment. I remember feeling quite disappointed that they weren't brimming with happiness like myself when I rocked up at 8 weeks pg! Xmas Grin

Pop I was reading last night that loads of EWCM is connected to Thyroid issues. Did you say you were previously on medication for the Thyroid? Hormones may still be playing you up..?

DS is loving mini mince pies from good old MnS. When I cook them they come out like hockey pucks! Xmas Blush

beangrower · 06/12/2011 08:31

Oh and Imps - that's a massive boo to the peestick. Keep your pecker up. x

BeedleTheBard · 06/12/2011 09:11

imps boo to the bad peestick - and fingers crossed for a better one soon

As you all think snow and EWCM is connected for me its a good thing I live in a snowy country. Xmas Grin

sweetie I was only CD8 yesterday but as I normally ov around CD10 I guess it would be normal for me - anyway get rat smacking.

loving the talk about PJs - I have a lovely pair of bottoms from M&S that are about 5 years old and getting very thin even have a couple of holes but they're so lovely I can't throw them away - will have to check out that website to see if I can find some I like.

GenericDietCola · 06/12/2011 09:18

Oh Imps sorry about the BFN but maybe it's just too early.

difficulttimes · 06/12/2011 09:18

Hello all

Hope your doing well.

I've made a BFP Announcement thread , just wondered if you guys thought it was a good idea,

As in these big threads you're announcement can get lost or people miss details etc,

BeedleTheBard · 06/12/2011 09:22

oh and I want a mince pie

I should have bought some at the weekend whilst I was in England Xmas Sad - but hopefully my mum will bring some mincemeat when they come here at Christmas and we she can make some Xmas Grin

PopcornMouse · 06/12/2011 09:22

bean yes please, a summary would be excellent :o
Really, EWCM and thyroid issues? That's interesting Hmm Which book was it?
Yes I'm on 150mcgs of thyroxine a day which I think is at the high end of moderate, dose-wise. I do have a final specialist appt in about a fortnight and was planning on raising my ttc woes, but I think they'll just tell me my levels are fine and to get on with it Confused and then discharge me as my levels have been fine (but normal people fine (>3.0), not pregnant lady fine (>1.5) iykwim) for the past year and a half-ish.

That's excellent news about the SA. Does DH have to abstain for a few days before or anything? I second waiting til the 2ww to give his sample, he doesn't want to waste any of that spermy goodness :)

Given the choice between PS3 and the guitar, DH would definitely choose the guitar ? but sadly he developed an early-onset form of arthritis about 4 years ago which doesn't hinder his mobility (or fertility :o ) much, thankfully, but means he can no longer play the guitar as it makes his wrists throb. It was quite heartbreaking for him, as he was very good and loved loved loved it :(

faith I'm glad staying at your Dad has a few perks, at least :o And I unplugged all my appliances (bar the digibox) before we went to bed last night Blush

Oh Imps that's pants. Maybe your wee wasn't as concentrate?

PopcornMouse · 06/12/2011 09:23

difficult I think that's a lovely idea! :)

difficulttimes · 06/12/2011 09:28

Aw thankyou

Well the threads there when you all need it !

Its lonely atm Sad

PopcornMouse · 06/12/2011 09:33

Hehe, not for long I hope!! I reckon people should also include what they think made that month successful iykwim? :)

difficulttimes · 06/12/2011 09:42

Yeah thats a good Idea their maybe like a criteria like

time/date.

feelings.

why did this time work?

symptoms.

fathers reactions?

just a rough jot

Imps7 · 06/12/2011 09:47

Thanks for all your pee stick damnation - it certainly isn't over until the big fat effing biyatch fat lady sings.

I'm actually more worried about not getting an offer for the other job than not getting a BFP this month - I should find out on Thursday/Friday hopefully. I cannot stay at this godforsaken place a moment longer but there are no other jobs in my area at all. I've already drafted my resignation letter (which I know is just asking for trouble - a bit like PIAR early!) - what do you think of this:

*

Dear Bitch Face

I wish to resign from my position at [crap firm]. Please accept this as 3 months' notice of the termination of my employment. My last working day will be [not soon enough].

Yours sincerely

Imps who is cackling with glee

*

Suitably cold do you think?

ScrambledSmegs · 06/12/2011 09:53

Morning all. I am Grumpy McGrumpalot today, as DD spent half the night wailing pitifully. Yes, 'tis cold season again, and my miniature drama queen is milking it for all it's worth Xmas Sad. It's not even that bad a cold - just a runny nose and a bit of a cough!

Imps the pee stick is obviously faulty. Please leave it for a day or so and then re-test. All will be well .

That's a very sweet idea, difficult. Hope to be posting on your thread v soon.

Popcorn, I'm 'Stuck' and 'Tired' too! How weird.

Mince pies... mmmm. I'm sure I've got some of Delia's recipe mincemeat forgotten maturing in a cupboard somewhere. Must go hunt it out, I made it two years ago so it had better not be off!

Sorry, I know I've forgotten loads of people but I'm so exhausted I've got to build up to replying to you all. I'l be back Xmas Smile

ScrambledSmegs · 06/12/2011 09:54

Imps I think you might have missed out 'Off you fuck'. But I like your style Xmas Wink

PopcornMouse · 06/12/2011 09:57

What smegs said, Imps :o
Yes, very formal and cold, and obviously lacking any sort of "while I have enjoyed working at [crap firm]..." :o

Oh no, smegs!
How old is DD?

ScrambledSmegs · 06/12/2011 10:04

She's 21 months. I do feel sorry for my little munchkin, it can't be fun being bunged up and coldy when you can't blow your nose properly, or know what's going on. I hope she feels better soon though because DH and I really need our sleep!
