Been doing some research ladies.
DH did some half-arsed research after deciding he had low sperm count and announced he needs to eat bananas, walnuts and dark chocolate.
So I've done my own (proper) research, and have found some interesting supplement ideas that just may give us all the boost we need...
Bee pollen, apparently, is a bit epic. Improves sperm production, alleviates menstrual cramps, improves desire & energy for sex.
Royal jelly is cheaper. Nutrient rich, improves quality of sperm & eggs, helps with PMS, low oestrogen, irregular cycles. Study on male rabbits did marvellous things to their swimmers, including boosting volume of fluid, quality of sperm, and resulted in less dead/wonky sperm.
Agnus Castus (vitex) can normalise female sex hormones, lengthen luteal phase. A clinical study was performed, sixty-seven women with ovulatory/cycle problems were treated with vitex, which resulted in a ?marked improvement of progesterone levels during the luteal phase, earlier ovulation, and thirty-eight achieved pregnancies.? It's also on sale in Holland & Barrett at the mo! (online anyway).
Red raspberry leaf helps to tone & strengthen pelvic region, particularly uterine lining, thus lengthening luteal phase. By toning the uterus, it also helps prevent miscarriage and postpartum hemorrhage, due to a relaxed or atonic uterus.
Damiana (turnera diffusa) aids in toning and stimulating the reproductive organs. It can increase and balance hormones levels, and likewise, stimulate female eggs. Damiana also has an aphrodisiac effect on women that can aid in conception. Damiana?s main strength is to aid in impotence. It can encourage circulation to the male and female sexual organs.
I don't know about you, but I'm seriously considering legging it out the door to my nearest H&B to stock up! Lol.
I've been taking pregnacare conception for at least 3 months now with no joy, so considering some of the above.
I also found out 400mg daily of Vitamin C could help improve your luteal phase if it's too short, and even make you ovulate if you have anovulatory cycles.
Worth a shot?
