Here we go yet again...

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 24/10/2011 21:56

That is very tempting, I could go tomorrow as we have one where I live. I wonder if I also need to cook them slightly cooler, I read something about that once and how it affects it rising.

ScrambledSmegs · 24/10/2011 22:06

far I don't do slapping, honey, but I could give you a spank if you like? Wink

Grin

Glad you've cheered up a little, you sounded so low earlier. It's a bit crap, this ttc game isn't it?

Oh yes, Generic, I think the universe must look kindly on us now!

Still brooking madly in Casa Smegs (or Scrambled for those of a more squeamish disposition!). I'm hoping that I have a longer LP this time, as FF seems to think I ovulated on Wednesday which would mean that I have the shortest LP ever. About 5-6 days Sad.

BeedleTheBard · 25/10/2011 05:36

Ooh so much to catch up on :)

Stasi I think I can find my cervix but I'm not 100% sure Blush, I usually try when I'm in the shower - though obviously only when I'm in the shower at home not when using the communual showers at the gym Shock

farfalla sorry you were feeling down, I think we all feel the same sometimes. But we will alll get there - I think that was my first brooking :o

munk are you using internet cheapy OPKs? I think they come in different sensitivities because we all produce different amounts of LH, maybe you need the less sensitive ones.

FX to everyone that the evil witch stays away

Imps7 · 25/10/2011 07:27

Morning girls!

I've never tried to find my cervix - think I'm a bit too squeamish for that. Mucus analysis is where I draw the line!

I think I ovulated yesterday (day 20 - 1 or 2 days later than normal grr) - big temp rise this morning but stupidly I had a few drinks yesterday which always pushes my temp up. I know this is not within the spirit of brooking, but I really don't feel like we've cracked it this month. Not sure why I think that - the Shagathon went quite well - I just have a feeling. I'm not too worried this month to be honest as I have enough going on with the job situation without having to apply my mind to being updiffed as well!

Ninja, not sure about baking powder losing its mojo after a while but I'm sure it probably will...daily baking will ensure a constant and fresh supply surely!

Like the make up recommendations - I have horrendously sensitive skin so only wear it for special occasions - I shall have to stock up on some nice new stuff for the next wedding/Christening/party etc etc.

Right, onwards and upwards!

ScrambledSmegs · 25/10/2011 07:27

Temp down more today. Sad. Arse.

Imps7 · 25/10/2011 07:28

Oh Scrambled

ScrambledSmegs · 25/10/2011 07:35

Thanks. Got to go to work now and plaster on a smile. No sign of AF yet but I suppose I should be expecting her.

CakePigeon · 25/10/2011 08:55

Oh scrambled Sad hope you are ok. Do you have easy access to chocolate?

fake smiles all round today - another BFN for me today at 14dpo plus I still have my cold and a bird pooed on my coat on the way into work this morning Angry and a bit Blush

GenericDietCola · 25/10/2011 09:10

Oh Scrambled so sorry to hear that. Next month will be the one fo' sho.

Cake sounds like your day got off to a bad start too, but things can only get better. Look after yourself today and hope you feel better soon.

Think AF is coming properly for me today too. Bugger.

I think we need to pick ourselves up and remind ourselves of the Brooking No Argument spirit...

WHAT DO WE WANT?
Positive pee sticks
WHEN DO WE WANT THEM?
Now!

CakePigeon · 25/10/2011 09:15

Hope you are ok generic you never know, none of us actually have AF yet

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 09:19

I am too lazy to wear makeup. That and, having never really got into the swing of it as a lazy teen, I now feel I'm a past it and tbh wouldn't have a clue where to start. I live in fear of being streaky, orange and clown-like.

Holy Batman, Smegs

Have you tried the B-Vitamin combo that everyone raves about? Someone (Imps?) also found zero boozage (boo hiss) lengthened her luteal phase iirc.

ScrambledSmegs · 25/10/2011 09:29

Yep, I'm on the monster b vitamin combo, have been for a nearly 2 full cycles now. Last cycle was 24 days so I got very excited. Looks like cycle is going to be nearly exactly the same Sad. LP is still very short. Think a visit to the GP is in order.

Oh and I don't drink anyway. Although a G&T would go down very nicely right now...

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 09:51

Oh Smegs :(
Yes, I would go and see my GP, that's very short indeed and I'm pretty sure there are progesterone supplements they can give you that help but don't shoot me if it's nothing to do with progesterone at all.

I'm seriously considering giving up facebook. It's like a bloody mothers meeting. One friend (ok, family member - so can't de-friend her) updates 2-3 times a day about her DS. And she knows we're ttc (though I don't honestly expect her to stop her life for me, but a bit of tact would be nice, not a brisk "you'll get there, pat pat, Ooo look at my DS! Isn't he amazing! He's my whoooooole wooooorld! I can't wait til you have kids! It's amazing! Best thing in the world ever! My life was so empty before I accidentally got pg!"). It's driving me P.O.T.T.Y.

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 09:51
CakePigeon · 25/10/2011 09:55

I agree smegs and popcorn hopefully a dr can help?

Oh I know, popcorn with you on the fb thing. Someone I know updated constantly about how uncomfortable her pregnancy was (she wasn't actually ill or suffering complications) and now whinges because her newborn 'only sleeps 8 hrs a night' wtf?!

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 10:07

The AIBUers would call that stealth boasting and knock it right on the head :o

I was actually fine throughout her pg, because we had only just started ttc. Now it's just a bit much, but it's not her fault at all and I feel like a baaaad person :(

CakePigeon · 25/10/2011 10:26

You can't help how you feel popcorn it's how you act that matters. which is why as yet I have not punched my pg colleague in the face for banging on about it all the bloody time Grin

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 10:28

Very true Cake :)
We are having them over at the weekend, maybe I shall make cake (though she runs a bakery so perhaps not the best idea, considering my baking skills could be labelled "barely beginner")

possiblemaybebaby · 25/10/2011 10:31

Popcorn I know where you are coming from, just want to give them a slap

Cake, Scrambled and Generic if the witch isn't here yet, then you are all still in with a fighting chance. I am not taking any crap from AF this month, do you hear me???

Hurrah for that egg Imps and surely the month where you don't think you've cracked it, will indeed be the month for that BFP. I laugh in the face irony Imps, oh yes I do.

GenericDietCola · 25/10/2011 11:06

Oh Popcorn I'm sorry you're finding it tough. You will be next, I'm sure. FB is hard - so many pregnancies at the moment and I agree with Cake that the stealth boasters are the worst.

Scrambled do you know when you ovulate? Are you sure your LP is short or could you be an early popper? I have short cycles too, but I think I'm quite an early egg-layer (day 12 this month).

Good Lord! Cake and Maybe are right! None of us (Cake, Scrambled and me) have AF yet so why are we all down - WE ARE STILL PREGGO until she turns up to rain on the parade. In fact, I think my auntie pulled up in her taxi, took one look at the bouncers on the door and turned straight back round again. She's not ventured in properly yet...

GenericDietCola · 25/10/2011 11:07

Oh Imps chin up, love.

farfallarocks · 25/10/2011 11:14

Morning brookers,

Feeling so much better this morning, thank you so much for all your comments. Gawd I love this thread. I think DH would have divorced me by now if it weren't for y'all sorting me out and giving me somewhere to vent! I am trying to maintain a calm exterior with him so that he still finds me sexy and will bonk me at the relevant times.
You are all so very kind.

Boo to all the blinking AF visits here :(

popcorn and cake huge hugs, facebook sucks doesn't it. I actually can't believe how many times facebook is updated by some people with trivial rubbish. i am not being a bitter old hag honest, it would annoy me on any subject!

scrambled argh is all I can say, I don't know about temping but is there anyway it can be wrong? Cld the drop be an implantation dip or summat?

generic , fellow tilted womber, you WILL get your 2nd baby, I know it, and I bet you were not at all smugaroo at all.

p.s. twas me with the booze free LP extention, but don't worry, it was not totally booze free I just cut down a bit. I normally have 1/2 glasses every night and then a lot at the weekend!

imps you are so getting your ironic BFP this month, great that the sexing is happening. DH is a bit off games at the moment and its quite nice not to be stressing about it as we are not trying. He is not going to know what hit him come November though.................

shiny its definitely first day of full flow, spotting does not count

ninja how are you feeling, any symptoms yet?

beedle thanks for giving me your virgin brooking :)

scream hope you are having a lovely and relaxing pregnancy and thanks for popping in to say hi

possible I also sense a lunchtime trip to House of Fraser, woo hoo

CakePigeon · 25/10/2011 11:39

Glad to hear you are feeling better far

imps sorry I missed your earlier post. Sounds like worst possible timing to me Hmm hope things settle down for you

musicalmrs · 25/10/2011 11:41

Popcorn and Cake, feeling similarly with regard to Facebook. I have a friend on there who posted her scan pictures a couple of weeks ago, and now CONSTANTLY updates about being pregnant. It's driving me barmy. Personally, we've kept the news off of Facebook - although it might appear at some point in some form. We also told DH's sister (HUGE Facebooker) that she could talk about it in real life, but any whisper on Facebook (we have relatives struggling to TTC, if nothing else) and we'd kill her. It's worked so far :D

Farfalla - I would also be driving DH mad if it weren't for the lovely rat smacking ladies, on both threads!

Generic, Cake and Scrambled - it's not over until she's here! and even then it's not always over. Imps, it's definitely ironic BFP time for you..!

Should be working. Have done all the tidying and ironing in order to avoid it. Planning some baking (chocolate chip cookies and some rolls maybe?) to prevent working too much this afternoon :D

PopcornMouse · 25/10/2011 12:19

Ok, mini AIBU here - I also get annoyed that Mumsnet posts adverts with big fat pregnant women ("10% off maternity wear!") in the conception forum. AIBU to think that's a bit insensitive? Do they post the same ads in the losses forum?! Shock
