Maybe have just seen the picture of your pup, he is gorgeous! I love the name. I'm a total dog lover. I've got a 2 year old staffie cross who is sat at my feet as I type.

I got AF a few days ago & am now on CD3 so it will be full steam ahead for rat smacking in our house in about a week.

I had my pelvic ultrasound on monday, am just waiting for DH next semen analysis & we will be back to the doctors for all the results.

Did I see that Farfalla has her consultant appointment on thurs?

He is very cute, though his teeth are like needles, and every now and again, he will have a mental 10 minutes, when he likes to practice using his teeth! Not that you'd think it now he is curled up against the sofa asleep Oh, and I love staffies, so affectionate!

Had a bit of an emotional meltdown this morning b/c we didn't DTD last night because Dh was late home from work (10pm) and couldn't get it together to dtd this morning before I started work -- and I'm still 7 days pre-ov so it doesn't even matter. TTC is harrrrrrd!

Ha ha Ninja I know you have been ttc for a long time. Now when I PIAR I can barely be bothered to check, I would be probably be speechless for a few weeks if I got a BFP!

Maybe I dont miss my puppy days as my dog was completely mad I remember being reduced to tears one day after she had had 6 walks & still wouldn't sleep! She was totally cute though.

I've been wanting to change my name for a while but couldnt think of anything. Eventually I just combined my favourite food & drink!

Well I've got spotting now, though the cramps i've had for the past couple of days have stopped. So I think tomorrow will be CD1. This means a 21 day cycle this time. So better, but not a normal cycle yet. My dp is being lovely and encouraging, saying it's a good thing, but all I think is that it's still not a good enough cycle to get pregnant.

Little is your LP short, or do you just ov early?

My cycles are usually only 23 days but I ov on CD10 so I had thought I was probably OK - when does a cycle become too short??

Hi beedle. Most of my cycles over the past year have been around 14 days, some even shorter, which gp & I are both pretty sure are anovulatory. I'm pretty sure I ovulated this month, and once a couple of cycles ago when it was 24 days. Not sure at which point I have ovulated though.

Yours sound spot on though, a great 13 day luteal phase.

Hi Little am glad that your cycle is getting longer & that you ovulated. Your DP is right you will get there the wait is totally tedious though I agree

Ive been doing a lot of cleaning today, am thinking of treating myself to pizza express & orange Wednesday later. Pizza will definitely help with AF methinks.

I would love to give the CBFM a try, but after reading up about it, I don't think it would be worth it yet, as it seems you need cycles between 21- 42 days.

I think I might give one of the "smiley face" opk's a go though, so at least I don't have to interpret the results.

little my apologies, I'm sorry we must have been through this before. Am I right in thinking you said you didn't want to go down the medical tests route yet? I might well be confusing you with someone else, and if that's the case I'm sorry! What does your acupuncturist think of it all?

Thanks Cupcakes . I don't think we will find out the sex. We had a surprise with DS, well 2 surprises really (1 that he was a boy and the other that we couldn't get him out!! ).

A lot of the stuff we bought first time round was neutral, in terms of bouncy chairs, bedding etc because we knew we wanted another, so we're fine on that front. We have some neutral newborn clothes and if it isn't a boy I'll just send DH out on an emergency sleepsuit shopping trip (while I jump for joy at a future including all that girly shopping ).

That's not to say I'd prefer a girl or a boy, I just like shopping. Either way, this baby will be 6 mths out from DS so there will still be some shopping opportunities )

Hello lovely brookers

Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome yesterday - you guys really cheered me up and I feel like we can all chat freely here about the agonies of our TTC world without feeling like a stuck record. If I sound a bit gushy it's cause I'm slightly sloshed on my 40th birthday glass of prosecco (with a sirloin and veggies on the side). I even stretched to a follow-up GnT. I think it is literally years since I drank at lunchtime. My 40s are beginning to look appealing. Of course, these days a drink is a rare treat given the self-imposed TTC rules.

I can report that the sirloin has given me the impression that I'm preggers so if you ever want to know/remember how it feels to be about 18 weeks just tuck into 200gr of your favourite bit of cow (sorry veggies/pescarians).

Also - v sweetly, DP came along to meet acupuncturist today and is willing to try some herbs. The things our fellas do... So feel very blessed. Acupuncturist - a very cool lady called Mrs Wang who treated me in first pg and the last few months - sends a message to us all (well, I believe you might want to hear it): don't put your man under too much pressure. I shall be putting his slippers in front of the proverbial fire every evening from now on. She also said that a roll in the hay once in the TTC window is plenty, though I'm afraid I'm not willing to go along with that one!

little I understand CBFM is very similar to a basal thermometer but with more bells and whistles. Have you thought of temping for a bit?

popcorn I wouldn't go as far as a list, but I did read a book last year (just a normal book not a baby names book!!) that made me think if I have a girl I want to call her xxx. I've also thought about which names work in both our languages.

I haven't shared any of these thoughts with DP

Hey little - hello from a newbie. I would give those OPK smiley faces a chance. I started using them about 5/6 months ago and though obviously I'm not up the stick yet I did find it reassuring to have a better sense of how my cycle works. I'm lucky that I'm pretty regular at around 26/27 days and get a smiley face d11/12/13 accordingly but that's not that I'm trying to sound smug - just that I think it really helps to know as much as one can about what's going on downstairs (if at all possible). I guess on the tougher side it could be disappointing to not get a smiley face - or in my case to realise that it doesn't actually mean I can get pregnant straight away, but hey there's pros and cons to all aspects of this TTC biz. HTH xxx
