Here we go yet again...

OP posts:
PopcornMouse · 28/10/2011 15:16

Oooo I was expecting a "what supplements can I take to get a girl?" but it's actually pretty sad :(

ScrambledSmegs · 28/10/2011 15:17

far she's getting a lot of good advice, I hope she will be ok too. It is odd how they've all been about boys recently, maybe it's something to do with the way children are gender defined so early now? Feminist topic, sorry!

But then, I'd rather people were just a bit disappointed at first then went onto love their children fiercely, whatever sex. Horribly, about 5 years ago one of my friends was told by the hospital they'd stopped telling parents what the gender was, as so many people then went abroad to terminate girls :(

ScrambledSmegs · 28/10/2011 15:20

Oh god, sorry for being so negative.

WHAT DO WE WANT?

Positive Pee-sticks!!!

WHEN DO WE WANT THEM?

Well, tomorrow would be nice, thanks Grin

PopcornMouse · 28/10/2011 15:22

Terminating abroad over sex? Shock Shock Shock

Just... Shock Shock Shock

BartletForAmerica · 28/10/2011 15:23

Oh, Cake, sorry to see you go. I hope you and DH can have some peace about this all and that your BFP will arrive at the right time in the future.

Biscuitsandtea · 28/10/2011 15:46

Going back a bit, but I'm wondering if the reason Scrambled can't tell us about her wedding is because the extensive coverage in Hello would out her? And really she's a sleb?

Yep, that's it!

ScrambledSmegs · 28/10/2011 16:03

Sadly I think I won't be needing those tests tomorrow. AF appears to be starting for real.

At least this means I have a slightly better LP now. I think it's about 9 days.

Sorry everyone. I was getting quite excited!

ScrambledSmegs · 28/10/2011 16:05

Not famous, not in the slightest! But at least one friend is an MNer and I don't want to out myself!

Biscuitsandtea · 28/10/2011 16:05

Oh Scrambled :(

I was sure this was your month. Maybe it isn't AF after all?

Still, an improving LP is a good thing no?

Have some chocolate and a bit old squeezey hug Thanks

Stasi · 28/10/2011 17:36

DP and I have been together since just before Xmas 2007, bought a house together Xmas 2009 (which his parents decided was pretty much getting married). Decided to get married this year as we wanted children, and DP is the sort who likes it to be neatly within marriage.

So, 4 years and still swooning at the silliest things. The car parking was because he'd carefully put the car so as not to be on the white line for a speed bump. It just reminded me how sensible he is about things like that, and that he'd gone all the way home after work to get the car so that he could drive me home from our friends house after an evening out.

We're having quite a small wedding, with 45 guests. Ceremony is in registry office (a lovely old building with chandeliers and marble staircases), then we've got the reception booked in a local hotel. There's still a few things we don't have organised yet.. but this was a short notice wedding for the most part, and I'm not a very organised person. Whatever happens I know that my wedding will be perfect - it's my wedding day after all! We've got the ceremony, reception, food and drink sorted. The fact that the table decorations aren't finalised... well, that's not that important in the scheme of things is it?

We're trying to do things on a budget, but things are so expensive these days we're still looking at about £7k. I sort of hope we'l get some snow, but as it's only a week away, and still quite warm (relatively) here in Edinburgh I don't think that's going to happen!

Scrambled so sorry if your AF has really come, a longer LP has got to be a good thing though.

What are the B-Vits people are taking? I wonder if I should try that with my varying 9-13 day LP?

I can't stand grapefruit juice, but I may even give that a try this month! I bought a big pack of cheap OPKs from Amazon, along with some conceive plus and preseed. I really want this month to be the one.

Cake good luck for the future. You may find some time out from the stress of ttc might be good for you. I hope your work is rewarding in the mean time.

I started writing this ages ago, and have been interrupted so many times it's now time to leave work. Hope people have had a good day.

NinjaChipmunk · 28/10/2011 20:10

cake you will be very much missed but you have to do what is right for you. Looking forward to a bfp for you in 2013! Please don't disappear entirely though.

I have eaten too much curry and am now feeling hugely fat. Off to watch a dvd before bed. How exciting is my life??!!

ScrambledSmegs · 28/10/2011 22:21

Ooh, curry! You are supposed to eat too much of it aren't you? It's the law Grin. Did you know that Waitrose has a special Diwali offer on, 2 main courses, one veg side and one pilau rice for £8? Their curries are really nice too, I think.

AF, if it is AF, is taking her own sweet time. I feel a sweary rant coming on. I mean, seriously, either start or GO. The fuck. AWAY. Don't just be a bit of watery blood. That's just pathetic.

God, I need a G&T. Haven't had one in yonks. Craving it now. Where's the drunk thread?

Solars · 28/10/2011 22:37

oh that sucks Scrambled I hope you're still testing tomorrow, as i'm guessing this isn't your typical af??

ScrambledSmegs · 29/10/2011 00:15

No, sorry Solars. AF is definitely here. She was just playing silly buggers earlier.

PopcornMouse · 29/10/2011 08:18

£7k Shock this is why we got hitched abroad......

ScrambledSmegs · 29/10/2011 09:37

Oh. Pretty sure this might be a very emc Sad.

Off to buy myself a big bottle of gin and some fevertree tonic today. Bugger sobriety.

Imps7 · 29/10/2011 09:38

Scrambled why do you say that?

xxx

ScrambledSmegs · 29/10/2011 10:12

Boobs went massive and sore the past couple of days. AF went away in the night so I did an OPK at 4 am Blush when I needed a wee]. Positive. And now AF is a bit different to normal. I don't know for sure but it's a bit like my previous mc, but obviously nowhere near as bad and painful.

Biscuitsandtea · 29/10/2011 10:30

scrambled is it worth doing a hpt to know for sure? If it is an emc then you could tell the doctors so it is on your record?

Solars · 29/10/2011 10:34

Oh no Scrambled I'm so sorry hear that but I think Biscuits may be right, that way they may also be able to figure out what's going on sooner rather than later xx

possiblemaybebaby · 29/10/2011 10:34

Morning all.

Scrambled are you ok? Make sure you are being looked after.

Cake I am so sorry to see you go. You will be sorely missed. I hope you pop by from time to time. Am wishing you lots of luck for your future, and will see you again soon, I am sure x

Ninja I had a curry and watched big bro. We are living life on the edge Grin

Loving all the wedding talk. It really is so expensive, but so worth it. Was the best day of my life Smile

ScrambledSmegs · 29/10/2011 10:38

I don't think so. If it happens again I will, but at the moment I think I just want to move on. Thanks Smile.

CakePigeon · 29/10/2011 11:04

Oh scrambled just had to pop in and say I hope you are alright. Squishy hug for you..

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone. Mn has been great and I'll certainly be back from time to time Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 29/10/2011 12:01

Oh Scrambled I really feel for you xxx Thanks

Imps7 · 29/10/2011 21:09

Oh Scrambled I was so sorry to read your post. I hope that tonight you are either:

a) AF-free and contemplating PIAR tomorrow; or
b) shitfaced on G&T but in an okay place.

Cake, so sorry to see you go too. Life throws too many tough calls at us ladies sometimes, doesn't it?
