No more Pill!! This is it!! Starting a JULY-AUG 2012 bus...

Hey guys!! Have taken the big step of coming of the Pill to TTC another DC. This will be DC number 2 - already have DS who is 15 months old and a DSD who is 7 years. We have spoken about another baby for a while now but it has now become more of a reality now that we have decided to stop using any contraception!! I am so so excited but know all too well about this horrible waiting game of patience which seems to get worse even after a BFP as then it's the painful wait for a 12 week scan!! (although this time I may pay for a private scan) I have had a MC before DS was born so am also aware of not getting to ahead of myself...but I'm so excited nonetheless!! I bought my friend a little present for her brand new (with tags on) baby girl and was so so broody. Cant wait for my turn now!!

Sorry for the long warbling post. This is such a hard time, the pre TTC, the waiting for BFP or BFN etc etc...I am the most impatient person in the world as it is...and to not to be able to tell anyone in RL makes it even harder!!

Well now I'm thoroughly confused. Just did another OPK and it's not quite as dark as yesterday's but much darker than last night's??

A darker line? That's a bit odd. So, with these OPK's, do you use them at the time you think you are ovulating? What is implantation? Sorry...more questions [blus]

Well, see, the darkest line I've had on them was yesterday morning at 9. The test line wasn't quite as dark as the control line, though. And they say that it has to be just as dark or darker to be a 'positive'. So I tested again last night, when LH is supposed to rise and it was fainter than it had been that morning. So I assumed I had already ovulated.

Then just now, the test line was darker than the one from last night, but not as dark as the one from yesterday morning. Sorry this is all sounding very confusing!! I wish I could somehow show a picture of the 3 tests and ask what you all think?!

Could your urine have been more diluted last night? That could have something to do with it. I invested in the CB one as there was no mistaking the smiley face :)

Im not 100% sure when I O'd... Im thinking it was monday so it's too early for it to be implatation :(
I also read that when you have a massage it can affect the fetus from implanting into the womb, so that's me well and truely messed up for this month!
Pains have subsided now so it could just be one of those things that I have noticed a hell of a lot more because im obsessed!

Fish, is it not true that morning urine has the highest doses of the stuff that tells if you are pg/ov? Surely that could be why? Your urine may have been too diluted...?

Actually for ovulation tests it's different - LH is supposed to rise over the course of the day so they generally recommend testing in the afternoon/evening. That's why I'm so confused!

A chemical pregnancy is a super early miscarriage, resulting in an AF that is just a couple of days late. It might even show up as a positive on a pg test, but then 'disappear' a day or two later.

Honestly, I would have thought that she would have been able to tell. Unless she wasn't looking for it? If you are looking for something specific then maybe not. But I thought that all the different colours on the stick meant different things. I wish I knew a doctor to ask!

Boo, that urine test has taken all the fun out of the 2ww now

Cauldron - the urine dip for a uti doesn't look for pregnancy. It looks for protein, ketones and nitrates (signs of a uti!). She would have had to do a seperate pregnancy test but I think it would be too early for that?

Cauldron I would say it would be way to early for them to tell :) The tests they use are more or less the same ones as the ones we get. You are certainly still in with a shot! What CD are you on?

I have a question I came off the pill on Sunday night and I had only been taking it for 8 days after my withdrawal bleed (been on the pill for about 3.5 years now). My question is this: I assume that I will have another withdrawal bleed soon, but after that am I likely to ovulate after it and if so when do I start counting to ovulation day?? Is it usually from day 1 of period (or in this case my withdrawal bleed) and day 14 would be the day I ovulate?

Also, what does CD refer to? Thanks!

I haven't been on the pill for absolutely ages so im not 100% sure about anymore bleeding you may have. You could possibly fall pregnant at any given time now but dating would be difficult. It's no biggy though, that's the beauty of scans :)

CD refers to cycle day.

CD is cycle day. Count from the first day of AF.

I would have thought you'd get another light withdrawal bleed, just because I probably would. You can start counting your CD's from the first day of your withdrawal bleed I think.

I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong...

Ah I see! A fertility surge eh?! Fingers crossed So am I right that it is day 14 (for those who are regular off the pill) is when your body releases the egg?

My DH is going away tomorrow morning Only for one night so I'm not dreading it, I just really like having him around. Gonna use the opportunity to spend some time with my parents (they only live 10 mins away) which will be nice. Other than that, chill out with the dog!

Do your DP's/DH's ever go away with work?

fish I am really sorry if this is too personal, but if it took a while to get pg via ai, would you consider just doing it with him or is that a total no no? Also, how does it work? Do you use a turkey baster type thing?!

I still am not sure if I've O'ed, so doing AI again tonight with donor. I'm really fighting an urge to go buy another box of ovulation sticks. I have 3 left, but I want to do them morning and afternoon for the next 2-3 days

wannabe If it took more than 3 months then I'd consider doing things the heathen way but I really don't want to mess up our awesome friendship and I think that things would get really awkward that way. And yes I use a 10mL syringe that I got from the pharmacist and some sterile urine cups. Tis all very romantic, no? [hgrin]

I would go and buy some more. I think you will just drive yourself crazy wondering what the results would have been. (I would anyway).

You must really have such a fantastic relationship with your friend! Does he do what he needs to and then you go strait in afterwards?
