babysaurus I can just echo poppy's account re recovery. Faster than expected and not as bad as everyone around me seemed to insist it was Grin. Obviously it is fairly major surgery but bodies are amazing at self repair and a new baby is quite a distraction. I didn't suffer the trapped wind however with my first I was unable to, er, poo, for two weeks (but I don't think this was c-sec related specifically). Not being able to drive was a pain, but as you said that won't affect you.

Had a disappointing BFN this morning :( so not holding out much hope for this month. It's still only 11dpo but I just don't feel as if it happened this time.

leedy · 02/12/2011 12:39

My recovery was very like poppy's as well - I think the most traumatic thing was the, er, first visit to the toilet. (Do they make greetings cards to celebrate your first post-birth poo?) Up and walking around (well, shuffling) the following day, no problems breastfeeding.

As I said above, I still think I'd prefer baby to exit by the regular channels if there's a next time because I did still feel quite weak for a while afterwards and the area around the scar felt ... funny for a bit, but if I was told I had to have a scheduled C I'd be fine with it.

welliesandpyjamas · 02/12/2011 12:46

Oh yes, leedy has reminded me, the scar area itself can be quite sensitive to start with, then can be itchy and/or numb Hmm for ages, years, afterwards. But of course, this is just a small price to pay for baby's safe arrival! And the scar tissue inside can stick to other internal organs over time. My second c-section took longer to close up because they had to detatch the scar tissure from my bladder first. This doesn't affect daily life though, so no biggie.

JaffaSnaffle · 02/12/2011 14:31

Hello, I was wondering if I could come and join you again? I posted on here a few months and name changes ago. I was Two Week Wait. I have been lurking a bit, but have not followed everything properly. We had a half hearted attempt at TTC quite soon after my mmc (17 weeks), but the realised that we were not ready. But I think, I think, we might be ready to start again. I ordered some OPK from Amazon, and promptly lost them (we are decorating and house is a tip), but that aside, I think we are ready! I will have to wait for a while though, because I think we have missed OV time. AF due around 10th Dec and then we are away!

Lots of love to you all by the way.

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 02/12/2011 17:17

aw wellies :( Fingers crossed though.

babysaurus - I understand the metalling having lost two :( I'm sure it'll be fine but I do know how useless that sentence is.

BlueCrane · 02/12/2011 17:18

Welcome back jaffasnaffle glad you're feeling more ready to TTC again Smile

Since it's Friday I thought I'd share some of the super yummy cupcakes my friend brought into work today

Poppyjen · 02/12/2011 18:49

Hi jaffasnaffle welcome back :)

blue a cupcake would go down very nicely indeed thank you very much!

wellies I am sorry about bfn, but you know 11dpo is early etc etc. doesn't make it any easier though does it... :(

Well in bizarre turn of events fertility friend reckons I am 3dpo today at cd14 (meaning ovulation at cd11 wtf) I am not convinced. We'll see how the next few days pan out! Not sure metformin is that much of a miracle drug!

Feeling pretty good today, side effects are much better so i am actually hungry for a change. Still don't feel like cooking though so may be fish and chips for us tonight :)

MandaHugNKiss · 02/12/2011 21:12

Welcome back TWW Jaffa Grin

Wellies It is early and I know you're not feeling it, but there have been a few of us here who didn't feel it either but still got bfps! Fingers crossed for you but it would also be nice to be able to indulge over the festive period ah, pate. And champers

poppy Coincidentally, I just looked at your chart and was coming here to say I'm not sure you actually O'd yet. You had exactly the same temp on cd13 last month! But yes, a few more days needed to get a better idea and so keep up the SWI!

welliesandpyjamas · 02/12/2011 21:45

Thanks for the reassurance, lovely ladies x

Funnily enough, poppy, fertility friend had me bouncing back and forth between cd10 and cd14 this month, and it finally settled on cd14. Of course by then we'd given ourselves a rest eased off the swi a bit, thinking I'd ovulated already! Hence the bfn, probably. Grrr.

MandaHugNKiss · 04/12/2011 09:57

Fallen off my active convos... awful quiet in here. I hope that means good things for everyone!

Poppyjen · 04/12/2011 13:14

Hello busy weekend putting Christmas tree up (yes it ahs taken all weekend....) I think it has all been slightly overwhelming for DS, he was so excited by having the (undecorated) tree in the house last night he was running round it in circles shouting "tee tee tee" at the top of his voice. You can all imagine what it has been like today when we stared to put the lights and decorations on Grin

Hope you are all having lovely weekends!

The Metformin side effects seem to have got a whole lot better for me now, I would say I am feeling pretty much back to normal aside from a sort of washed out tired feeling so hooray for that Smile long may it continue (until morning sickness takes over where it left off of course...)

Fertility Friend has unceremoniously removed my red lines so no ovulation for me yet, hopeful it will happen over the next few days - consultant reckoned around CD20. I am CD16 today so fingers crossed!

Poppyjen · 04/12/2011 13:14

Sorry, obviously meant "has" not "ahs" in first sentence....maybe I am a bit overwhelmed by the Christmas tree decorating too!

babysaurus · 04/12/2011 13:48

Quick post to say hello again to JaffaSnaffle. Glad to hear you are back in the saddle, so to speak.

Have scan at 11.10 tomorrow and so far am mainly nervous but also excited, which is a good thing. IF I let myself think about it too much I get a bit panicky so am keeping myself VERY busy to keep any nasty thoughts at bay.

Roll on tomorrow...

Poppyjen · 04/12/2011 15:15

baby I'll be thinking of you tomorrow Smile

welliesandpyjamas · 04/12/2011 15:36

baby good luck tomorrow x

AF arrived today. Humph. Bah humbug with a Christmas hat on. Still, it explains my horrid mood.

MandaHugNKiss · 04/12/2011 16:25

So sorry, wellies - If you have a somewhat regular cycle you can try on those few days between christmas and new year when most people lay off the booze a little Wink Good luck this cycle.

poppy Told you! Good luck to you too.

baby I have everything crossed that you'll be reporting wonderful news tomorrow. Hang in there - it's bloody hard.

As for me, I'm getting the stinking man flu cold the DF has had these last couple of days. Great. More paranoia for me that my temp will spike and Bad Things will ensue... But at least I'm in the second tri properly so baby might have a better chance even if it does happen.

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 04/12/2011 21:48

I'm sorry, wellies. Here's to a boozy Christmas though.

I'm trying not to be preoccupied by waiting for AF but I'm thinking about it far too much and I'm only 7DPO Blush

I actually have hope because I really don't want to do early pregnancy and Christmas AT ALL. So it's sod's law isn't it.

welliesandpyjamas · 04/12/2011 22:27

Thanks both of you :)

My fertile days should fall mid December so maybe I'll be testing on new year's eve or on new year's day next time round, which'd be nice :) Not such a boozy Christmas though as I'll be fearful of doing Wrong Things during the 2WW Grin but since DH rarely drinks I'll be in good company.

missscarlett It feels like it is CONSTANTLY on your mind, doesn't it?! So distracting.

Manda duvet and hot drinks all round, poor you

JaffaSnaffle · 05/12/2011 07:27

Good luck tomorrow baby. Hope all is well. Also hope they don't keep you waiting in waiting room.
Sorry about AF wellies.

babysaurus · 05/12/2011 09:10

Argh! In horrid frame of mind and can't stop worrying! DH thinks, though he didn't say in so many words, am being OTT. I am not, I'm just scared!
Leaving at 10 and will repprt as soon as I can.
Blimey, this is HORRIBLE! But I also guess its normal, unfortunately. It seems all the more scary as we've had an earlier scan, and am hoping like mad that bodes incredibly well. Thanks for the support ladies xxx

BlueCrane · 05/12/2011 09:51

baby I woke up thinking...'ooh, is it the 5th today, that means baby has her scan today' so you're definitely on my mind and looking forward to hearing back from you later...hang in there!!!

wellies sorry about AF Sad here's to a great New Year's bfp though!!

manda take it easy with the cold...obviously DF will have had it much worse than you will since he will have had the man version but hope you get some good TLC from him anyway!!

missscarlett when TTC it's very very difficult for anything but POASing and possible results to be in your mind during the 2ww...how we all hate the waiting!!

poppy Grin to tree and decorations and overactive DS!! We put our tree up yesterday and I was trying to work out whether beany will be old enough to be crawling next Christmas and therefore whether we have one more 'child-unfriendly' year of decorations left or whether we will need to revise decoration plans for next year...beany will be 6-7months by then so we may be ok (said confidently that all will continue to go well with this pregnancy!!)

I also did some Christmas baking at the weekend to pop in the freezer to ease the cooking load later on, but saved a few goodies for you lovely ladies so please help yourself for a morning snack with a warming Brew
