Hooray for baby!!! lovely news :)

pebspop · 11/11/2011 22:41

Poppy - i was feeling really ill when i had the high temps last week so thats why they are making my chart look a bit dodgy. i actually had a 38.3 temp but i have to discard it as it was really making my chart look strange.

baby - glad everything was ok. remember everyone to make sure you get scans etc as the worrying doesn't help any of us. if things do go wrong it's best to know asap so that tests can be done etc.

manda(and everyone else who has mentioned the b vits) - thanks for the advice. i will have a look at buying some tomorrow.

i have just booked my flights to oz!! going on boxing day and will defo be swi. lets hope for a australian baby!!

BlueCrane · 11/11/2011 23:31

No idea what I'm still doing up at this time except that I've just had my head over the loo again...think beany has now an aversion to Thai green curry as well as strawberries...genuinely thought I should be getting better now since I'll be 12 weeks on Sunday but have been more sick this week than previous Confused maybe it is the tiredness from New York??

But yeah Grin for the news baby so so strange to see a little bean and try to get your head around it actually being in there!! That's why I popped on to see whether you'd posted anything at this late hour!!

eve will be thinking of you in the morning...all my symptoms seemed to go a couple of weeks ago but as you can see they are now back!

pebs so excited you have booked your Oz tickets...bet you will be counting down the days!

Right, I am going to try and sleep now and hope for an uneventful night and good sleep!

Night all...

Poppyjen · 12/11/2011 11:20

Quick post from me, on phone. Just wanted to say I gritted my teeth and didn't test this morning. Temp on a bit of a downward trajectory though so not too hopeful actually. Time will tell I guess! Catch you all later Smile

PieMistress · 12/11/2011 11:28

Great news baby!

blue i'd read that 'morning' sickness might hang around until 14 weeks. Ice lollies always work for me! :)

eve keeping fingers crossed for you today!x

poppy have you got a link to your chart?

pebs oh that sounds amazing! what a lovely time to be going to Oz .... ah beaches, sunshine and lots of SWI! Fingers crossed you do conceive a wee oz bean!

Not much to report here. Still feeling mildly nauseous most of the time but not noticing boobs changing or any other symptoms. Had DS's swimming lessons at 8.45am (yawn, so early!) so am hoping he has a nice nap today (please!) so I can re-charge my batteries as it's just the 2 of us this weekend. DP is most hungover on a stag weekend! Think we will book a scan for next Saturday and drive the extra distance (£25 scan versus £100 locally). Will make a day out of it as it's 1.5hrs each way. Booking in appt is for just over 8 weeks, it was at 7 weeks when I started spotting last time which will be next week.

Poppyjen · 12/11/2011 11:30

Pie, my chart is at www.fertilityfriend.com/home/poppyjen

Enjoy Grin

eve34 · 12/11/2011 14:16

Afternoon all

Just to let you all know that Jr is fine. After many tears from me she did the scan and we saw the baby was ok and waving.

She did lots of checking and is happy all is ok. BUT she did the nt measurment and said that it is thinker than she would like it to be.

So although VERY relieved we have a new worry now. Have nhs scan on wednesday and first test for downs so will take it from there.

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts it has been very much appreciated.

MandaHugNKiss · 12/11/2011 14:23

Woo hoo eve! I really felt the baby was still ok, so glad it is!

Obviously I completely understand your NT worry (did she tell you the measurement rather than simply say it is more than she'd like? Or did you see for youself/is it on the report?) given my fun and games this week but until you have more definite answers you must ty not to jump to any conclusions

PieMistress · 12/11/2011 17:07

Great news eve! You must be so relieved! I would wait until your actual NT/bloods scan on Wednesday and try not to worry. I think it's a bit bad of her to say what she said - do you know what the measurement was?

Relax and enjoy your Saturday night now! xx

Poppyjen · 13/11/2011 11:09

Eve that is fantastic news, what a relief for you! Sorry you now have an additional worry but I second what pie said, wait for your actual results and then you'll see the real situation. Easier said than done to say don't worry I know Smile

Well 11 dpo here and I did test this morning and bfn Sad I am trying to tell myself that it is still early days but as my temp is down a bit again this morning I am feeling like it will be on to another cycle for me. That will be cycle 7 and 6 months since mc (10 months since we started ttc no2) Sad

I am preparing myself to hear all of your wrist slapping for testing early Wink and wise words telling me to see what the next few days will bring.....

Feel blue today. Sorry for being down.

MyDaydream · 13/11/2011 11:17

First time poster on this thread, just started trying again. Had a MC at 9 weeks in September with my first baby, and been reading up obsessively on TTC since last time the pregnancy was a very happy accident so this is all a bit new to me. I'm going to wait until I'm actually late to test though since I'm not being too much of a crazy lady at the minute and would like to prolong that as much as possible, but work is helping with that with the long hours I have coming up. Mostly just thinking back to when I noticed things last time before I knew and paying attention to things now, even though at most I'll be 2 or 3 days! But around the first week after conception last time I had some bad cramps (every night), and then about a week before I tested my boobs turned to lead and taking my bra off became a dreaded time, so I'm crossing my fingers for these to come back soon!

MandaHugNKiss · 13/11/2011 12:01

Won't slap your wrist, poppy -I wouldn't be that much of a hypocrite!

What I will say, though, is that a) yes, it is early and of couse entirely possible that it's too early if indeed you are pregnant. But, I think, more importantly, b) wouldn't it be fantastic if you didn't have any spotting today (or tomorrow) and your lp lengthened...even if you're not pregnant? Getting your body/cycle closer to 'ideal' for conception has got to be a good thing, a great thing!

I know it's easy to get hung up on 'how long' you've been at this, but remember that technically you haven't really been 'trying' that long (and so, not 'failing' that long!). It took five cycles for my body to sort itself after my loss and it would have been easy to get hung up thinking how long five months is... but it was simply necessary to get my body to the point where it would give a pregnancy the best chance. And isn't that better than 'quicker'?

Eh. I'm rambling! I just think that as this is your first cycle with the AC/Bvits it might be more of a positive spin to think of this as cycle 1, in a way, iyswim? O already came forward - good news! Now we're hoping lp is improved too - better news! And of you're pregnant, well, that's the best news! But if not, you AE making positive changes to your cycle that will help you in that aim.

Chin up, lovely! It's gonna happen for you!

mydaydream Sorry for your loss, and that you've had to find us... but I do hope you'll get the amount of support and encouragement that we've all felt at one time or another from each other. There's nothing quite like someone else who has walked your path and knows how you're feeling. Here's hoping you get your bfp soon!

PieMistress · 13/11/2011 12:52

poppy I usually start testing at 9dpo so no wrist slapping from me! My recent bfp happened 10 months after we started TTC no.2 and 6 months since the m/c. Time does drag by so slowly doesn't it. I am still in limbo at the moment really, I think we will go for a scan on Saturday and see the lie of the land.

mydaydream welcome to the thread! Sorry you have found yourself here but it's so supportive and we are here to hand hold every step of the way!

manda how are you this weekend? I can't believe I am seriously contemplating flying down to London for an NT scan at the FMC. I know it sounds utterly ridiculous doesn't it but there is no-where like that at all near me (or in Scotland AFAIK). When I was pregnant with DS (36, had him age 37) I really didn't have these kind of worries. I did have an NHS NT scan and got great odds but after that didn't give it any more thought. This time round however i'm much more scared as am 39, nearly 40 so know my odds are much worse. Ho Hum! We have close family in Ashtead and St.Albans though so could combine the two with a visit.

marathon am worried about you, please pop on and let us know all is okay after your scan!

martha/summer a big hi if you are lurking!

Big waves to everybody else! DS gave me a nice 7.45am lie-in this morning which was such a boost especially as DP is away (and very hungover by all accounts!)

CottonSock · 13/11/2011 19:41

Hi all, can I join you? I had my first pregnancy ending in MC in September at 11 weeks. Now TTC, went for it the first month but just had AF. My cycle is much longer, so I thought I was preg, so bit disappointing. Cycle at 34 days, usually 28. Next month will make myself wait longer before getting too exicted and spending a lot of £ on sticks! Anyone else have a longer cycle after MC, and how long did it take to get back to normal? I am 33, living in Wales..

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 13/11/2011 20:09

Great news Manda, babysaurus, Eve. Fingers crossed Poppy. Sorry I haven't quite caught up there's lots of news and most of it good (yay!)

Spotting turned out to be an unusually slow start to AF, which has been much longer than usual already. But it's good I'm pretty much back to normal. I did worry with it being such a late MC and so much like giving birth. Figured I wouldn't really conceive straight away really, not disappointed at all. We'll see how it goes. At least I know I'm on CD4 now ....

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 13/11/2011 20:09

Oh no that was post 666. That can't be good......

MillontheFloss · 13/11/2011 20:16

CottonSock Sorry that you find yourself on this thread. My cycle was initially shorter after MC in Sept but next cycle was longer and I think they can take a while to get back to normal. My cycle was also 28 days pre MC so hard to know when you OV with this changed cycle! I too tested when AF was due/ late only to get BFN and have AF arrive three days later. Disappointing but still early days.

babysaurus · 13/11/2011 22:17

Eve I am delighted to hear that Junior is still live and kicking (or perhaps wriggling is a better word) but less so about the nt business being cause for another worry. I am now crossing everything for the scan on Wednesday. Bloody hell, if its not one thing its another with this baby producing business isn't it, sometimes I wonder what we have all decided to let ourselves in for Confused

CottonSock and MyDaydream I am sorry to hear your stories but welcome to the thread regardless.

Cottonsock I think quite a few people have taken a while to get back to normal. I had a real downer as I had a WTF cycle at first, when all I wanted to do was get back to normal so I could start again (it seems the only thing to make it feel better, if that makes sense) and things seemed all over the place - spotting for a week instead of AF - but they did settle down for cycle 2, although others have taken quite a bit longer. Its a horrible time waiting though isn't it so you have my sympathy. On a slightly perkier note, some say you are more fertile after a mc and I managed to get pg (currently 9 weeks but still can't relax) on cycle 2 so hopefully others won't have to wait too long either. Here's hoping!

Well, after my exciting (it actually seems quite surreal now) scan on Friday I am now back to Worry Mode. I went to the loo on Friday night and found a BIG bright red clot / blood. That seems to have not got any bigger / gone on for any longer - was a bit like at the end of a period, if that makes sense, but am still a bit nervous about it all. Going to something I said in one of my previous posts, this thread can make me worse as I am reading stories from people who miscarried at 9 weeks or later but, conversely, I would never want to leave this thread either as you lot have been such a wonderful support (and sounding board) when it's often hard to speak to people about it in RL who understand.

Am now avidly knicker checking at all times and have to hang on for 3 weeks till the 12 week scan (5th Dec.) Eeeek!

Poppyjen · 14/11/2011 08:12

baby if you are worried then call the midwife/EPU - even if you have just had a scan this is something new and could merit some further investigation. Fingers crossed its nothing to worry about - with DS I had some bleeding at 8 or 9 weeks at about the time AF would have been due IYSWIM.

Cottonsock and MyDaydream welcome to the thread Smile

Well another temp drop for me today. now 12 dpo and although it is an improvement on last cycle (i.e. no spotting yesterday at 11dpo and no AF today yet) I still feel like its a bit of a waiting game now. Manda I know I should feel encouraged by a slightly longer LP and earlier ovulation after taking the Bvits and the agnus castus but right now I just feel a bit flat Sad - I will perk up though I promise Grin Once next cycle starts I will kick myself into positivity!

Anyone interested can see my chart here See the gradual drop? Not good. Bah!

farfallarocks · 14/11/2011 09:03

Morning all,
welcome to cotton and daydream, very sorry to hear of your losses.

poppy, sorry to hear you are feeling down, I know that each month feels like an eternity. I have to keep reminding myself that it has not been that long really especially as some months we have not got the timing right. Its just so hard when it seems so easy for everyone else, isnlt it? But manda is right (As usual!) your cycle is improving. My LP is also lengthening with a not much spotting so I am trying to see the positives here (also BFN at 11dpo and pretty sure af arriving tomorrow!!!) When we first started TTC I had a 10 day Luteal phase with spotting from 7dpo so the b vits are working, or my cycle is just sorting itself out!!

Having said that, don;t be afraid to just feel what you are feeling, I let myself have a little cry last night, just because. Feeling much better this morning for it!

baby fab news about the scan but sorry to hear about the spotting, its definitely worth checking it out again, could they see anything on the scan that might be causing it? My friend bled all throughout her pregnancy but they could not find out why, her baby was absolutely fine though. I know how worrying it must be.

eve great news on the scan and fingers crossed for the NT result!

pie , this must be a hard week for you given what happened last time so keeping everything crossed for you that this will be a nice sticky bean.

pebs here is to a nice holiday, oz baby for you!

pebspop · 14/11/2011 09:31

mentalling going on today aaarrrgghhhh!!

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/374325#share

can someone have a look at my chart? my temp was 36.1 today so the graph has changed and says i didn't ov anymore. i had ewcm and stomach cramps last week so feel like i did ov. i have discarded todays temp and will see what my temp is tomorrow. i know i am only tricking myself but i would rather wait and see what my temp is tomorrow and i will unclick the discard thing.

i feel really pissed off now :( i just want to see a normal cycle - is it too much to ask.

baby ring the epu and get another scan. worrying is no good for you. when i saw bleeding on my first pg i rang the NHS direct and they got me a scan at epu. they didn't even think twice about it.

PieMistress · 14/11/2011 09:56

baby ditto what the others have said. Please don't wait 3 weeks as it will be filled with worrying. Your local EPU should see you asap. Was the clot/blood just a one off? The times when your period is due can often cause bleeding, it doesn't necessarily mean anything in wrong with bubs. Please go and get yourself seen xx

(sorry will reply to others a bit later, monday morning mayhem!)

leedy · 14/11/2011 09:57

baby, seconding/thirding the rec to go to the midwife/EPU for reassurance. From my experience they'll see you straight away if you have any bleeding. Fingers crossed all is ok.

Still in the WTF cycle here, 10 days post m/c. Bleediness has stopped and I'm starting to feel vaguely human again so...

I have a PLAN. It involves starting to track my temperatures again and going back to the acupuncturist I saw when I was TTC Young Sir, who was really good at a)calming me down!, b)helping me identify my fertile phase, and c) (I think) keeping my cycle regular. Dunno what I'll do if I spot OVULATIONNY STUFF before my first post-m/c period, my urge would probably be to do something about it though then would presumably have to spend hours explaining to doctors that I hadn't a last menstrual period if I did get a BFP. Also would that cause problems scheduling an NT scan, given it has a tight time window?

In addition have ordered fancy pre-preg Zita West vitamins, which will hopefully have the effect (a la buying expensive preg test when you do want your period) of luring on a pregnancy before I manage to finish them. May also have to buy a lovely costly garment that will not fit when pregnant - last pregnancy happened immediately after buying a pair of J Brand jeans....

babysaurus · 14/11/2011 10:36

Hi all, thanks for your advice re the bleeding. I have discussed it with DH who pointed out that a) bub looked fine and feisty a mere 10 hours before and also that b) the nurse who went through my notes talked about possible causes for bleeding (none of which either of us can recall now as we were both still a bit 'wow' at the scan result). Lastly, I can proudly announce that my busoms are now HUGE! I am normally a C cup but my D cup bra is waaaaay too tight! Blush I also feel pretty weird (slightly sickly, brain is mush, very tired even though slept well etc) so feel more pregnant today than I have done so far, I reckon.
If I end up getting anxious though I can go to the GP's surgery on Wednesday as the midwives run a clinic there and they said to pop down if I ever wanted anything or had any worries.
I almost think I am half looking for things to worry about half the time! As I have said before, this is especially weird as I am actually a very laid back person normally!

Pebs I am clueless about charts so can't offer anything, but sure someone else can.

Leedy I like your thinking with the non pregnancy friendly shopping! Maybe go the whole hog and get something skin tight and VERY expensive from Gucci (although this may result in you concieving triplets)!

pebspop · 14/11/2011 10:40

leedy defo buy something inappropriate, it's bound to work!! i have bought a fiat 500 for the same reason - it's far too small to squeeze a baby seat into the back, i don't think the front seats come far enough forward to get one in! booking expensive holidays seem to do the trick as well. especially if it's somewhere which need vacinations you can't have while pg!
