Just quickly: baby I hope you've already phoned the EPU - no embellishing required this time!

leedy If you haven't had a period, they will often do an early dating scan around what is surmised to be 8 weeks... so don't fret too much about that!

BlueCrane · 14/11/2011 11:35

Morning all! Sorry for not posting sooner?been a v busy weekend?

Firstly Grin for eve great news, sorry about the hangover comment re. NT tests but hopefully that will become clearer on Weds!

poppy how are you doing? Good to hear your LP seems to be lengthening though I know what you obviously really want is a bfp rather than another AF even if your cycle is in better shape!!

far good to see the vits are working for you too?also hoping for a bfp rather than AF for you too!!

Welcome to myadaydream and cottonsock I echo what the others have said and am sorry you have to join us but please make yourself comfy in our nice thread. It took us all a while for cycles to settle down after MC, some longer than others but after your first AF it does seem to be a little easier to track.

msscarlett grrr for AF arrival but Smile for having a better idea of where your body is up to now!

baby sorry to hear about the spotting?as others have said call your MW/EPU and get checked out...though just seen your later update and good to hear the ?boob-progress? and the clinic on weds seems like a good plan too!

leedy plan sounds good?and TTC before your first AF is fine but we would all recommend testing until you get a BFN before you start TTC so that you know all the preg hormones have gone first as that means you can be more certain of a bfp if you get one IYSWIM. IQ on here got her bfp before her first AF and the docs were fine and it just meant they had to do an earlier scan (I think) to check her dates. Re. planning in a reverse psychology sense we booked a trip to NYC and I signed up as a direct sales consultant whilst we were TTC...then got a bfp the day after my 'launch party' for the direct sales and the trip to NYC was v hard work being 11 weeks pregnant!! So give the jeans a shot!!

I am in full metal mode ahead of 12w scan tomorrow afternoon? trying to stay calm and keep reminding myself that beany was there happily at 8 weeks and I have been quite nauseous, sick and still tired since, and that beany being there at 8 weeks was already an improvement on last time when we hadn?t got further than 6 weeks albeit with no sign anything was wrong until our 12w scan?but in my head that's why tomorrow is quite so key and we'll be at the normal scanning place where we found out the bad news last time rather than at the nice EPU clinic we went to at 8 weeks which I'm not really looking forward to!!

eve34 · 14/11/2011 12:03

Good morning all

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Baby - see how you feel but if you are worried go and get thingd checked. Private scan was £60 really worth the money for the reassurance. I am sure the midwife will be supportive give them a call.

Manda - thank you (and everyone else) for the kind thoughts. The lady who did the scan avoided answering the question when I asked her what the measurment was. She just said it was thinker than she like to see :-(

Mayaday and cottone socks as others have said I am sorry you have had to join us but we fully understand the ups and downs of what you are going through. Which I have found invaluable.

Blue can't believe we are so close together - we have our scan 9am Wed morning. Hope all goes well for you.

I have been at Dr Google so ladies and Manda as our most recent expect a measurment of 1-2mm is fine anything over not so good. Also to ask about other indicators - measurements, soft spots and heart condition.

At my age I am alreasdy 1-100 at risk so it is going to come crashing down with the nt result. Also bloods to be taken on Wed.

So amnio can only be done after 15 weeks - AGES away 1 in 100 risk of MC

CVS can be done after 12 weeks? 1 in 100 risk of MC

Results take 2 weeks - so we are getting nearer to Christmas not a good time to make difficilt decisions.

As I have said before I have worked with people with disabilities all my working life and DS does not worry me, depending on other complications. I know life would be different but I am sure we would cope.

DP is completely the other way - although started the conversation with I will support you in whatever you decide. I said it was a joint decision but don't see the diffiuclts he does. He was a bit upsetting. We have agreed to wait and see what the hospital say to use on Wed. Guess I should shuffle over to the genetic/testing threads which I have had a little look at.

Sorry for the long post fingers crossed we all get our healthy babies in our hands soon

BlueCrane · 14/11/2011 14:21

Grrr...just chatted to one of my friends at work who knows I'm pregnant and apparently someone asked her earlier today if I was as they were wondering since I seemed to be 'filling out' Shock she wouldn't tell me who it was (apparently she covered fairly well for me)...I was feeling quite happy that I've not really put any weight on though do realise I have been wearing much less fitted clothes to try and cover the stomach bloating but am a bit miffed about the gossip...especially after my other friend let slip to a load of people last week...grrr...well, hopefully after tomorrow it won't matter so much but I guess this could be the start of people suddenly feeling they have a licence to comment on your body shape/figure etc etc when it's really none of their business

eve I will be 12+2 tomorrow, how many weeks are you now? We're not having the NT as DH and I decided that we wouldn't do anything as a result of the test and want to avoid the stress, what will be will be. Thinking of you for weds though!

Right...back to work, too much to do and too little energy

PieMistress · 14/11/2011 15:04

eve how old are you? I'm 39 .... DP & I haven't discussed the NT test yet as 12 weeks feels too far away but we will be having it. For me I just need to know. CVS can be done 12-14 weeks (I think) and an Amnio after 16 weeks (I think there is a risk of club foot if done sooner, might be wrong though). Do you know in your mind what statistic it would take for you to have invasive testing? Would it need to be lower than the miscarriage risk? I don't know if I would have an invasive test, that would be a very difficult decision. Some hospital miscarriage rates are much better than others though after an invasive test. The FMC (where Manda went) have seemingly never lost a baby after an invasive test. I think they say anything above 3mm might be of concern? I'm kind of burying my head in the sand about it at the moment though! Will be thinking of you on Weds xx (I think you get the initial chromosome results after 3 days though with full results after 2 weeks)

blue good luck tomorrow! Will also be thinking of you xx I weighed myself yesterday and I am a stone and a half HEAVIER than when I conceived DS. Am still in shock. I knew i'd put on weight but not that much, sigh. No wonder my clothes are tight! I'm also constantly snacking to fight off the nausea! :( (anything and everything salty!)

pebs chuckling at the Fiat 500!

baby how are you now? whoop on the big bazookas! I'm still waiting for mine to change (at all!) Wait until after the baby is born and your milk comes in, they will be HUGE! :)

leedy I also take the fancy zita west vitamins :) Acupuncture also really helped me sort my cycles out post miscarriage and I found it very relaxing. My ovulation went to CD19 post m/c but he managed to bring it back to a very reasonable CD14.

Sorry for not individually name checking everybody, been a bit manic at work today

leedy · 14/11/2011 15:28

Acupuncture booked! Now need to invest in unsuitable clothing. To the online shops!

bluecrane, GRRR on the people commenting on your weight. FFS.

I also definitely definitely wanted the NT test (came out v low risk with DS and, well, didn't get that far in last pregnancy) but I too am someone who Needs To Know (frankly if someone could install a window in my uterus so I could see what's going on AT ALL TIMES I might have gone for it). I would also have had the invasive testing if the risk had gone back down to my baseline for age. Also mrleedy and I are both on the same page re when we'd consider termination , I can totally see how other people might have different views and how it'd be tough if you didn't quite agree.

Anyway, best of luck with the scan eve and really hope it gives some reassuring results and you don't need to consider further testing.

BTW the site for the fetal medicine unit I went to says that it's possible to get CVS results sent to a special lab that can give some preliminary results in two or three days, don't know if that's something you can ask for where you are. Also lists the risk for CVS as between 1/200 and 1/100, so slightly better than 1/100 - midwife when I had my NT said the risk is going down all the time as scanning technology etc. improves.

leedy · 14/11/2011 15:34

Also ta for the tip on testing to see if I'm getting a BFN before anything else. I have some random pregnancy tests knocking around (my GP used to give them to me as a sort of "THEY ARE LUDICROUSLY OVERPRICED IN THE SHOPS! I KNOW HOW MUCH THEY COST REALLY!" gesture) so will be able to test without any capital investment...

eve34 · 14/11/2011 15:53

Afternoon all

thank you for the replies - sorry to hog the thread today I will go away quietly I promise.

Ok have done some reading and the risks of mc are decreasing with new tecnology etc etc. Appearantly a high number of those that do mc are due to the poorly nature of the baby. Also most states are out of date significantly.

So questions to ask.

What is the NT measurement anything under 3.5 is ok.

what would the increase be if I had good blood results - would it be signifcantly higher?

Are there any other indications that lead to increase risk (soft markers, nasal bone measurments etc)

what is this hospitals risk/states when completing CVS/amnio

turn around time on results

Pie I am 39 too :-) risk at 40 is 1 in 100

Hope everyone else is ok

Blue I daren't get on the scales but know I am much more comfortable in a dress size bigger. Fortunatly I have lost 3.5 stone this year so people think I look better than I have done in a long time.

Blue you are a bit further along than we are scan measured us 11 plus 2 on saturday which is exactly what I thought.

Missgiraffe1 · 14/11/2011 17:48

Hello Ladies!

Have been lurking occasionally, it's so fab to hear that all the BFPs are becoming little people!! Amazing! I am 15 +1 now and heard the heartbeat again at my appointment this morning. Of course, I had convinced myself that they wouldn't find it and burst into tears as soon as she offered to listen! Am certifiable at the mo Blush

I need to be honest. I haven't been on here much because being reminded of MCs, particularly late ones, had been freaking me out a bit. It's been so hard these last few weeks, the loss of symptoms probably contributing to my madness. The stories are so sad, and had me in tears (bloody hormones). But, this thread is for those who have recently MC and are ready to try again, so you absolutely MUST be here! This thread is a life saver Smile , it certainly was for me. It is me who must hope off.

I wish all you ladies all the luck in the world and have everything crossed that you will be home with your babies in the not too distant future.
I just didn't want to disappear completely without explaining. I can't thank the ladies on here enough for getting me through the sad and scary times, when it felt that no-one RL knew a fraction of what, or how, I was feeling.

I will miss you ladies. Good luck and massive giraffe hugs to you all!

All I have left to say is..........

Chin up, (.)(.) out and PMA all the way!!!!!! Grin Grin Wink x

Missgiraffe1 · 14/11/2011 17:48

'hop' off Smile

MarathonMama · 14/11/2011 18:05

Hello ladies,

I have just gone on here and see that my post-scan update last week didn't post Hmm This bloomin' site is a right old pain sometimes. Anyway all was well, and it's another pink one Grin

I'm really super busy at the moment so apologies for not get on here much. Glad to hear people are doing well.

I must say I'm very sorry to say goodbye to MissG as we were mc buddies (if there is such a thing?!), we miscarried and had our erpcs in the same week so just want to say a massive GOOD LUCK with everything. I'm SURE it'll all go well and you'll have your precious little bundle very soon. Will be thinking of you Smile

I would also echo what MissG has said about the thread, it was a life-saver for me too. I hope all the newbies find it just as helpful.

Just wanted to let you know that the scan went well, I won't be around much for the next month or so as life is just so busy but will try to lurk occasionally!

Poppyjen · 14/11/2011 20:27

good luck lovely - wishing you all the best Smile Thank you for all of your splendid support and advice over the past few months.

Marathon so pleased to hear your scan went well - best of luck to you too Smile

Thank you for your kind words earlier today ladies, still feeling a bit blue but I am encouraged by the earlier ovulation and longer LP, it is nice to think I have taken steps that have actually made a difference!

Still no spotting or AF for me but pretty certain I am out. Wish it would hurry up now so I can get on with the next go!

farfallarocks · 15/11/2011 07:47

Great news from both manda and MissG, its very encouraging to read success stories on here!

poppy I know what you mean, I want AF to just get on with it now, I have some spotting and mild cramping but come on lady!!

MandaHugNKiss · 15/11/2011 09:42

Shock POPPY!! Shock

(s'my birthday today - have woken feeling extremely dizzy (room spinningly so, even laying down) seeing your chart has given me a boost!)

MsScarlettInTheLibrary · 15/11/2011 09:51

Thanking of your scan today BlueCrane.

For me, AF is done with, I've got a scan appt through to have a look at my ovarian cysts, which will be nice Hmm I did have a bit of a wobble when I picked up the hospital envelope thinking it might be our appointment for our baby's post mortem results, but no, it looks like they'll be true to their word on that taking a long time. I would really love to have a reason why.

BlueCrane · 15/11/2011 09:57

Morning all

poppy glad you're feeling a bit better and yeah for no spotting, manda is clearly excited about somehing on your chart but I must confess to not having a single clue about charts so I'll just stick to hoping for a bfp v soon for you rather than our not so favourite aunt making an appearance!

marathon so glad to hear all's well, hope the run up to Christmas isn't too too hectic and that energy levels are ok for everything you have to do!

I seem to have gotten a nice snuffly streaming nose and cold...yeah Hmm but after lots of retching and nearly throwing up again last night and this morning I am feeling strangely a bit more realxed about the scan this afternoon Confused though pretty distracted and no idea how I'm going to get any work done today and do have some urgent stuff to get done...oh dear!

BlueCrane · 15/11/2011 09:58

X-post msscarlett glad you've got the scan date through but sorry to hear the PM results taking so long

Poppyjen · 15/11/2011 10:06

Manda Happy Birthday!!! I know I know, feeling a bit Confused about high temp today, have no idea what's going on! Still no spotting so that's good. I guess I will have to see what tomorrow's is like. I didn't test this morning (didn't think I would want to - I was expecting another lower temp) so am fresh out of FMU and I only have CB digis left...

13 dpo today...

Blue thinking of you today, do let us know how you get on. The reason manda is Shock about my chart is that I got a big temp rise this morning after a few days of my temperature getting gradually lower and lower. Totally unexpected. Not sure it means a whole lot, I'll have to wait to see what tomorrow's is like I think and keep up the constant knicker checking in the meantime...

MsScarlett good news on the scan date Smile

pebspop · 15/11/2011 10:57

chart

Filled in my temp today and it says my ov date changed from day 19 to day 21. i then undiscarded yesterdays temp and it doesn't think i ov'd at all now.

very confusing.

why did yesterday's temp have to be so low :(. haven't got a clue whats happening now. i would expect af to come at weekend but not sure if that will happen now.

pebspop · 15/11/2011 10:58

happy birthday manda!!

will be crossing my fingers for you today blue!!

get testing poppy!!

leedy · 15/11/2011 11:21

Happy birthday manda!

Off to acupuncture later today, booked appt with GP to a)ask why I have had a cold for three months and if it's bacterial, could he nuke it from orbit with powerful drugs before I get pg again, b)ask some of my mindfvcky questions, c)use one of his pregnancy tests to check preghormone status. I AM MOTIVATED.

BlueCrane · 15/11/2011 11:38

Every minute seems to be lasting nearly an hour...just want to get to 5.15pm to get this scan over with...head so full of cold it feels as though I'm stuffed full of cotton wool and really can't be bothered with any of my work today (shame most of it is urgent, oh dear). Will update asap this evening but not sure what our plans are, ie whether DH just wants to go home and eat/chill there for the evening or whether he fancies popping out somewhere to (hopefully) celebrate.

leedy hope the acupuncture goes well, I know several of the girls on here have found it v useful and relaxing.

pebs that all sounds ultra frustrating re. your temps and ov!!

Right, back to trying to 'look' busy Hmm

farfallarocks · 15/11/2011 11:42

Oh good luck today blue

I also have no idea about charting at all but I am assuming its looking good poppy, fingers crossed for you!!!

pebs I am sorry about your chart, I have no advice, are you using ov sticks as well?

PieMistress · 15/11/2011 12:01

Quickly jumping on to MN inbetween work chaos!

It's our 8 year anniversary this weekend (not married though, just how long we've been together!) so am hoping a nice reassurance scan will be well timed (if we can get an appt!)

DP also got his SA results back today. Am not sure of all the details but he said morphology was only 2% (this is very low). Mmmmm, hopefully a miracle normal sperm got through for this egg!! I don't know if it's possible to improve morphology? He was taking male fertility vitamins for about 6 months and he said that they advised his count was absolutely fine. I am now petrified even more so of m/c again and trying to conceive with lots more abnormal, than normal sperm?

poppy a second temp rise can indicate implatation ie/ triphasic chart :) :) :) :)

Good luck with the scan today blue :)

Happy Birthday manda - dare I ask how old?! I have a feeling you are a spring chicken compared to me! :)

misssc hopefully they will get the results to you soon. Have you spoken to them at all to see how much longer it will be?

pebs have you been ill/under the weather at all? My temps sometimes jumped about all over the place like that but I was erratic with the times I took my temps as had never had 3 hrs of consecutive sleep beforehand!

leedy hope acupuncture goes well! I am convinced mine had a part to play in conceiving.

Right, off to have some soup then cheese on crackers with beetroot chutney!

pebspop · 15/11/2011 12:38

i was ill for a few days but that is shown on the chart as my temp went high gor a couple of days early in the cycle.

it is driving me mad, i want to stop temping as it is just worrying me but then i feel like it's good info if i don't get pg and i can take the graphs to appointments.

i am still getting ewcm today and that is also confusing me. i don't do ov tests. i was going to get some but i thought it was a waste of money when i am not actually ttc.
