Firstly, you've had next to no sleep last night and we all think crazy thoughts when sleep deprived . Secondly to echo the others, you are a fantastic Mum, beyond patient with E, have survived on broken sleep for nearly two years and still have the energy and concern to post here and offer advise and words of wisdom. Ewan looks the picture of happiness on your FB photos and is scrummy yummy.

I think the 'straw the broke the camels back' scenario is maybe down to E having his op and you hoping it would transform his sleep? What did the surgeon say?

My advice would be to get confirmation on any residual pain or getting used to the grommits E may be suffering from and once given the all clear tackle it as a bad habit that needs broken.

Of all the books I've read, the pick up put down and rapid return methods seem to work the best in that the child soon learns that you are not entertaining them, you are not pandering, giving them any attention other than to lay them back down and walk out the room. He sounds a strong willed little man and will scream and scream to begin with but will hopefully soon get the mesage the during the night wakings are simply NOT acceptable.

I would pick a weekend when you don't have to get up for work and set your shoulders to 'steely resolve' mode and go for it.

HTH, you're a better Mum than me putting up with such little sleep for so long, I would have thrown the baby out with the bathwater long before now....

Will try to come back on the weekend to make up for this short post. Life isso hectic with both DH and I working full-time, plus trying to sell the flat and what seems like a million other things to do and juggle

Thank you lovely ladies for all your birthday wishes for little Kitty. It was a nice low-key day today, after all she didn't really know it was her birthday did she?! Their party went really well on Saturday, as soon as I've downloaded the pics from my camera I'll add one onto my profile. I'm feeling supremely calm after my acu session tonight. My lady said that my pregnancy pulses are amazing & she wished she had a midwife there to feel what a proper pregnancy pulse feels like. Also she's saying it feels like another girl!

Buddha have a & a little sit down. Pat yourself on the back for coping admirably for so long. Please don't feel bad for losing your temper & getting shouty, he's so young he won't remember it. My dd1 knows all about it & regularly bears the brunt of my frustrations. When I calm down she says "Mummy, say sorry for snapping at me"! As for the sleep issue, I'm with Blue on the pickup/put down method. I had to use it with dd1 who didn't really start sleeping through until she was about 15 months & was a complete nightmare in the night. I'm convinced this is partly why dd2 is such a brilliant sleeper - I didn't put up with any nonsense right from the beginning! So you see having another dc is a good idea because if the 1st one tests your patience constantly, the 2nd one is a breeze!

Hi! I haven't watched a single episode this year either. I thought it was time to give it up! Still watching x factor, even though some of the editing is so predictable, I still love watching it! Need to get into strictly again, only watched the first episode where they introduced the celebs and haven't been able to catch up.

Summer being her usual hilarious self currently jumping like a maniac next to me with a runny little nose thanks to the cold she's just got, not that its dampened her spirits in the slightest as she seems to be permanently jumping and dancing at the moment!

Just wrote a shitty email to the white company. Place an order for dollies bedding including the gorgeous Milly patchwork quilt, we have been waiting ages so called them, only to discover the quilt in the size we needed has been discounted...but they didn't tell us and took our money!
