Afternoon all, loving the SS - I totally convinced myself I had sore boobs and was feeling nauseous last month and then lo and behold AF rocked up!! Just cracked up at nearly 'p*iss on me ...'!!! [hgrin]

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 13:39

Maisie I had the same sore boobs and nausea last month too... and then af turned up!!! This month I'm not even imagining any of those symptoms but still think I'm pg! Perhaps even more ridiculous!!

Anyway- my CBFM has just arrived. Woo hoo. I've just read the booklet cover to cover and now just wanting af to stop bloody teasing me and just turn up so I can start using my new toy!

Deafworm · 24/10/2011 14:06

Thanks gtr and liliana, fingers crossed for lots of bfps this month.

BustAMove · 24/10/2011 15:57

Right ladies, am getting ready to test, prob fri or after weekend. You all keep talking of these cheapie internet tests, and muggins here is still on the hugely expensive shop bought variety. So, which is the best website? and is the packaging discreet? have v inquisitive DD who is well able to read and put 2 and 2 together, asked me why I was taking folic acid the other day, as the label states it is for ladies who are pregnant, or trying! I rambled about it being v good for your skin.

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 16:55

Bust I didn't bother to shop around, but bought 15 sensitive ones on amazon for 2 quid. It came in a very discreet envelope. So discreet I didn't have a clue what was inside (was expecting them to come in a box!).

I think they came within 3-4 days of ordering.

good luck x

Rusulka · 24/10/2011 18:30

Not much of a secret GTR- I've just been working mon-fri for 7 weeks and only been able to eat what I could be arsed to prepare, lol!

Banana and cereal bar for breakfast, same for lunch with a cuppa, and a proper tea. Only really been snacking on dried fruit (not too much unless you want to be strapped to the loo), and if I want some chocolate or crisps or cake, I've got diddy little bowls which will only hold a reasonable portion- the size of your palm- and I'll have something every other day rather than every day. Which is hard considering my mum just brought 2 loaves of the most yummy looking cherry cake and I can't eat any til tomorrow!

FF says I've ov'd on Friday, so most likely out this month. Grr.

Going to stop 'trying' I think. If we just aim to dtd every other day, and I track my temps and poaos without actually telling DH, then we might actually get somewhere!

FX for everyone.

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 19:38

GTR just seen your calculation of 10-11 BFPs!!!! How exciting!!

I'm reluctantly throwing the towel in for this month after my 2 BFNs today and now got AF pains signalling af's arrival tmr/wed I reckon (which at least is on time!).

But can't wait to see them BFPs roll in!! Very very exciting, this plane is gonna get some babies!!!

Notinmykitchen · 24/10/2011 19:45

Hello all, welcome to the newcomers. I'm glad to see people are staying on this flight when AF arrives. I am expecting her tomorrow, have got all cosy in my seat so would hate to have to leave!

I'm not holding out much hope today, been having cramps all day, and had raging PMT yesterday so I am fairly sure I will be greeted by AF in the morning. Still can't help hoping a little, even though I know it is probably not to be this time. Fingers firmly crossed for all of us!

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 20:07

Keeping fx for you kitchen. Have you poas yet this month? x

GTR2882 · 24/10/2011 20:07

Is anyone else starting to lose a little hope!?! I mean, I'm so used to seeing BFNs now that the a BFP at the moment is a mere fantasy!! Just can't imagine it happening!!! For me that is!!!

Think im losing it too! Despite knowing that I probably haven't ov'd yet I still find myself SSing!! Boobs r getting really sore, really gassy, absolutely shattered and really irritable!! Anyone know if any of these are linked to ov?? I know, I know......I'm crazy!! Still gonna try and get some SWI in tonight tho!!! [hgrin]

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 20:15

GTR hang in there kiddo. That's what I thought when I was ttc#1. I got sick of it all. But the BFP came along and he is upstairs right now sleeping as snug as a bug. You will get there.

And maybe you are a little crazy with all the ss etc... but certainly no crazy than myself or half of the others on board this plane. Infact I know for a fact I am way crazier and I'm only 2 cycles in! Don't worry. You'll get there.

And I don't know if those symptoms are signs of ov'ing, but get some SWI in just in case. Really keeping my fx for you x

Notinmykitchen · 24/10/2011 20:49

Thanks nearly, no haven't POAS yet, seems little point, my luteal phase is only 9 days so its too early to test really, and AF always shows up bang on time

GTR I know exactly what you mean, I keep imagining that BFP but I don't really think it will happen. As nearly says, I was the same when TTC #1, it took me 10 months then, I was on holiday during the 2ww and drank every day as I was so sure it wouldn't happen, got my BFP 4 days after getting backBlush The odds are overwhelmingly in your favour, it may just take a while. When you look back all the agonising is worth it. It would be so much easier if you just knew in advance when it would happen, then you could relax and enjoy your last few months of child free living! Also I think sore boobs can be a sign of ov, something to do with increased progesterone if I recall correctly.

Kitchen did you have the same luteal phase when ttc#1? To be honest when ttc#1 I was a lot more ignorant of all these type of things- I was so busy with work I had less time to read up on it all. You know they say ignorance is bliss!!! How did you work out your luteal phase? Do you use opks?

Will be watching this thread with hope tomorrow, really hope AF stays away for you x

BoogiesBunny · 24/10/2011 20:57

GTR I feel the same - I can't even imagine what it would be like to read a BFP anymore. It's frustrating - notinmy my sister said the came thing to me today - it may not happen this month but it will one month. I really hope so.

Notinmykitchen · 24/10/2011 21:20

I think it may have been the same first time round. I started using OPK's the month before I conceived DS. I do remember AF catching me by surprise as it came earlier than expected but I didn't pay much attention as I had no idea such things as luteal phases existed then, MN has a lot to answer for! The annoying thing is when I started trying this time I thought OPK's would do the trick straight away. I guess being 5 years older doesn't help!

Notinmykitchen · 24/10/2011 21:21

Boogies, it better happen some time, there's got to be some point to all this! Grin

GTR2882 · 24/10/2011 21:33

Thanks ladies Thanks I know I'm being irrational, must be all those hormones!!! Recoiled in agony when DH approached my nipples!! Have not been this sore in a very long time!! Fx'd it's a good sign!!

Just wondering what you ladies do after SWI!! I try and keep my legs elevated etc afterwards but I'm too impatient and get easily distracted! How much love juice is normal to escape afterwards? Sometimes I have nothing coming out and sometimes there is a fair amount!! I try my best to remain horizontal but even after a while doing that there is still some escapees!! Just curious [hblush]

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 21:53

GTR I agree on the amount that comes out changes (sorry I just can't call it love juice!! Smile). Don't know why. Maybe if i'd spent more time knuckling down to my work in biology instead of messing about and getting thrown out I may be more clued up!! Grin

DeeLite · 24/10/2011 21:55

Thanks everyone for holding out hope for me. Because I'm really impatient and have a stack of cheap internet tests, I re-tested this evening and got another BFN. I felt a bit silly for re-testing so glad to see you succumbed too, nearlymumofone Smile. I also feel really crampy and absolutely knackered. I don't usually have any AF symptoms so am getting my hopes up again. Will try to resist testing again tomorrow though and POAS on Wednesday if AF hasn't arrived.

GTR2882, SWI with him on top and me orgasming (there's probably a Mumsnet euphemism for that but I don't know it - sorry Blush) after my DH seems to really work in preventing escapees. I always try to pee beforehand too to make sure I can stay horizontal for at least an hour. Good luck with the sore nipples. I've been doing lots of SS research today and sore boobs are a great sign - seem to be the lowest common denominator in SS. Mine aren't a bit sore of course.

BoogiesBunny · 24/10/2011 22:00

Ooooh! I'm interested in this too GTR. I usually wave my legs in the air for a few minutes before trying to lie as flat for as long as possible (i.e. I need to curl up and snooze).

Quite a lot can come out at times and it gathers around my bum which makes me think that maybe we missed - I'm still not sure about that. I love it when I'm as dry as a bone (although it will drip out a bit eventually). I've read online that it doesn't matter how much 'liquid' comes out because the sperm shoots out at record speed and isn't part of the gooey stuffy anymore.

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 22:01

Dee You can always count on me to be useless and succumb!! Wink Shall we both hold off till Thurs? Like that is gonna happen!!!!!! [sceptical] I gotta say I may end up leaving you as I'm gearing up to af with my usual cramps etc now so assume she's on her way to me!!

Damn I don't even nearly have sore boobs!!!

nearlymumofone · 24/10/2011 22:04

Dee actually you can rely on me to succumb to poas that when I read your last post I thought "Ooh I guess I need to go to the toilet now, I guess I could just poas again". That thought was followed by a mental slap to head and "Give it up woman!!!!!!!!!!!" So I'm going to go to bed now NOT poas before bed and try to go tomorrow without poas either!!!!! Hmm
