CLOMID first timer....

I can't seem to find any clomid threads that are active, so thought I would start this one.

Currently just finished taking my last tablet (50mg) on my first month of clomid, I'm very excited & nervous at the same time.

So many things going on in my head, no one to really talk to, symptoms are a bitch (but must mean something is working if I have symptoms yeah?!)

has anyone taken clomid without being monitored? My consultant isn't going to scan me to check on follicles, I just have to go back to see her in 3 weeks (not sure what for?)

Really hoping this works!

But if anyone wants to join me on a clomid ride, share info or success stories, feel free to......

Goldengirl - I'm all set my first tablet will be tomorrow :) spoke to the doctor and I'm ok to take clomid whilst on the pain killers, I just hope the back gets better soon for all the baby dancing :)

My doctor said when you get the positive test for ovulation to have intercourse at least twice a day for them 2 days then every other day for the rest of the week just to maximise your chances of getting pregnant

Hey golden - we started our EOD yesterday so Cd7,9,11,13.... and on to 31 since I have long cycles. I am also off to a acupunture consultation today and just started preseed. Just trying to increase my chances here at cycle 1 of clomid

Hello lovely ladies hope use don't mind me joining use am on the clomid journey too I have 1 little boy 9 an been ttc since he was born I have only just plucked up the courage to get some help I have had a number of tests an am told my tubes are fine I have a period every month but I don't produce an egg every month my partner sperm is fine he had a high count confused with it to be honest my periods are not regular they vary from 29 days to 35 days .
I have just started clomid 50mg on days 2 to 6 I am currently on cycle day 5 so I still have two more tabs to take am so so excited but so scared to I really hope an pray it works will say a prayer for us all good luck to u all an baby dust to us all has anyone got the same problem like me

Annalou84 i also take a lot of painkillers for my back an I am on them for life I was told they will not affect me in anyway Hun I hope we are all baby dancing together x

Photographerlady what is preceed for an were can I get some from .. I was not going to do the ovulation test I am being scanned next week 25.10.12 that will be CD 12 for me good luck x

I am only on cd8 of my first cycle, was tired a few days ago but no real side effects. Please say the come with ovulation so will see where I am next week. I am just trying to stay healthy and drink loads of water keeping my system top notch, giving up lattes isn't working :)

I feel tired with no energy but am thinking that may be due to having a chest infection,I take mine of a night I have read that u sleep through most of the side affects that way am so excited but so worried too I just hope an pray it works I have got my scan next week so fingers crossed an prayers to up above. I am blessed with one beautiful son I no am so lucky an I feel greedy when some people have none an hears me trying for my second its something I have longed for is a sibling for my son ... Do you ovulate on your own as that is my problem although my periods are regular ish I don't produce the egg every month I hope clomid gives my ovaries the big kick they need come on clomid lol lol

I'm more tired than usual, too, and I'm on CD10. I'm having my scan on Monday (22nd). Today the dentist put me on antibiotics for a tooth infection, took some x-rays and will be taking my tooth out next Thursday as well as doing root canal and a crown on another tooth! He says I should not ttc this week (I ovulate on Tuesday) because of the antibiotics and the trauma I will suffer next week when he has to do extensive work. I told him to piss off

Meluv, you need to calm down dear..take a deep breath...Clomid may or may not work for us. 45% of women on Clomid get pregnant (this does not include obese women or women with PCOS or women who do not ovulate. The statistics are much lower for these women). 24% of women on Clomid will miscarry (same statistics for women who conceive naturally).

Sorry if this sounds negative but we need to face up to the statistics. I think a 45% success rate is rather marvellous. I am 41, though, and therefore not including in those statistics

Sorry to hear about ya stint at the dentist hope all goes well for you I have many many success stories about clomid which keeps my hopes so alive every individual is different I am starting to get a few tummy cramps today I have everything crossed the dose works for me an I hope it works for u to x

Wow, goldengirl71...you are a fountain of knowledge. I have learned more reading your posts than i have from the hospital. I had no idea there is a 24% chance woman on chlomid will miscarry. 45% is still good odds on conception though. Im also relieved to hear painkillers dont affect it, as i have to take them on day 2 till 6 coz the headaches i get are severe (feel like someone has shot me). I read online about a lubricant preseed....do you recommmend it? Is it something you have tried?? I havent ever charted my temps as i read online your body can show symptoms of ovulation but produce no egg, or one of too poor quality to be fertilised.

Good luck Meluv, i hope you are successful!!!! Ive been teary and tense on chlomid too, i keep thinking...how can these work when im more stressed out on them lol. But it must just be hormones going mental. I love reading success stories, and just knowing this site is here helps me so much. I dont know anyone who hasnt just looked at a man and got pregnant. My friend, who is also over 35, just keeps having them one after the other. Our day will come ladies x

I have been using preseed this week and can't give you advice about it boosting fertilty but its made making love awesome for me :) little tmi but after three years of TTC it's a nice bit of spice. I use abit less than recommended as it goes a long way

I agree it's nice knowing the stastistics but I think we all need to be positive if it doesn't work then try again, life throws some crappy cards but its what you do with them that makes the difference. Some of us will get pregnant on clomid some of us won't but positivity goes along way. I'm feeling optimistic and I'm just happy that I've been given the chance to take clomid :)

I'm on my 2nd tablet so really early days for me. When is the best time to start testing ovulation?

Hi lovely ladies I am on CD 6 an just took my last clomid tab for this month I have had a dull headache all day an feel very tearful an tired I am struggling to eat too on them an have lost 5lbs since I started taking them ... Looking forward to my scan on Wednesday an praying they work I will keep use posted .... Annalou84 I so agre with you POSITIVE is the word good luck ... Mydreamydays I no what you mean by seeing people pregnant or just had a new baby although u r so happy for them u still get that lil pang of hurt inside cause you long for one so much yourself ... Mydreamdays, I am stilllearning myself about Clomid but I do alot of research. There is no evidence that Clomid improves the quality of a woman's eggs. Its job is to promote ovulation in women who are not producing an egg every month. Pre-Seed can be bought from Amazon for a few quid. It is a sperm-friendly lubricant for women whose bodies do not naturally produce egg white cervical mucus (the stretchy, egg white-type mucus which can be stretched like snot between the thumb and forefinger) Egg white cervical mucus (EWCM) is the perfect fertile fluid for nurturing the sperm as it awaits an egg (it is the stuff which allows sperm to survive for up to five days in the fallopian tubes). Some women (ie. over-40s or women on medication) stop producing this EWCM and so Pre-Seed is an excellent solution as it mimics the body's natural egg white stuff. You squirt it up via a syringe which comes in the box. You really don't need Pre-Seed if your body already produces EWCM.

I am now on CD12 and have suffered no ill effects from Clomid. I'm sorry some of you feel rotten. Try your best to ignore your symptoms...they will pass...and hopefully it will all be worth it

Goldengirl I luv the way you explained cm I great detail lol lol I do normally produce that quite a bit but I don't no weather I have read somewhere that clomid can dry it up a lot is this true ? I will see how I go this month an if I need some I will be ordering it x

Yes, Meluv, Clomid has a reputation for drying up EWCM which is why some women buy Pre-Seed as it mimics the real stuff perfectly.

Goldengirl have you had your scan yet Hun ?

Meluv, my scan is on Monday (CD14). I usually ovulate on CD15 so I'm hoping for a lovely, big, ripe follicle (or two!) appearing on the scan.

Good luck with your scans lady's. I wish my doctor would do that I'm on cd6 so I will start my ovulation tests as doctors said to start on 3rd tablet I would have thought that would be too early but will do what the doctor says :)

Has anyone heard of Clomid bringing ovulation forward? I've had a huge hike in temperature on my chart this morning and am desperately hoping that doesn't mean I ovulated yesterday - we've not had sex in days and even then DP ejaculated on my tits

I am on cd10 with a high reading on my otk and having twitching and dull pains. I know it's way early but already feels abit odd, however it's my first cycle so maybe reading too much into it

I no I will stress myself out so much doing all the temp an ov testing things so am just going to take my tabs have my scan an see what the nurses say if they give me a date to go then I will do all the bed rocking I can to try an get caught don't want to stress my self out the less stress the better goldengirl you do make me laugh with your posts luv the in depth details ha ha
