Ok Am I being unreasonable to think I might actually be pregnant??!

We have been trying for a baby, on and off for about 5 months now.

All preg tests have been neg except one which was touch and go but the next one was neg. Last one I did about 4 weeks ago.

I have had three periods since we started trying BUT have also been on and off the pill and we have changed our minds/changed again etc. In fact I have just finished a period today (but stopped pill about a week ago so probably not a real one IYKWIM).

For the last two weeks or so I have FELT A BABY MOVING IN MY TUMMY. I HAVE SEEN MY TUMMY MOVE - feels and looks exactly the same as when I was pregnant with DS.

DH just saw it and is totally freaked out.

Is this even possible ???!!!!!

Good luck

I worked with a girl who had a baby at 16. Didn't know she was pregnant until the ambulance rushed her to hospital with a suspected kidney infection and the paramedic realised she was in labour. She'd had periods the whole way through, and had been abseiling two days before. Another friend didn't realise until she was 7 months, so it can happen. Mind you, I was 3 days when I knew and DH didn't believe me. Had to wait nearly three weeks before I could POAS for the proof. Grin

Watching with interest.

I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 5 months. I had periods for the first 4 months and although I didn't have morning sickness I had terrible nausea for about 4 weeks. I did pregnancy tests which were negative so merrilly carried on! I saw the GP a couple of times and the first question they asked was when was your last period. As I was able to say 2 weeks ago and I've done a test which was negative pregnancy was never considered. I only actually found out I was pregnant as my 5th month period didn't arrive and I needed more contraceptive pills. The Family Planning Clinic did a test which was negative - I was too far gone by that stage - but the doctor obviously realised something wasn't quite right and examined me. The rest is history! I couldn't have got much further though without realising as by 6 months I had a ginormous bump.

But about three months ago I had symptoms similar to yours. I got myself very worried! I'm on Cerazette and don't have periods so as far as I knew anything was possible! I did tests, which were negative but could still feel and see the kicks and movement. I was desperately hoping it was wind but no farts were forthcoming. It was only when a colleague gave me some peppermint tea bags - after about 4 cups - that it stopped and the farts arrived!

Good luck!

Oooh I love a poat thread

Serenitysutton · 05/09/2011 00:19

A&e? Gp? What for, wind? Or a pregnancy test (like the many done at home?) you're all mad. Running off to a medical professional because your tummy is moving? I don't know how gps keep a straight face.

LeBOF · 05/09/2011 00:23

I predict that you are going to give birth. To a giant poo.

midlandsmumof4 · 05/09/2011 00:37

I went to my doctor with same symptoms-was 32 weeks when I found out I was having my first. We are talking 30 tears ago though.....Grin.

midlandsmumof4 · 05/09/2011 00:38

SouthernFriedTofu · 05/09/2011 02:35

Tortoiseonthehalfshell · 05/09/2011 02:42

Good luck today, getting answers. I'm intrigued now.

saffronwblue · 05/09/2011 04:28

Marking my spot to find out what happens next.

GetAwayFromHerYouBitch · 05/09/2011 07:55

Fascinating that wind and babies have some much in common

Fascinating how many of us have weird uterine/stomach disturbances (I thought I was the only one)

cleanteeth · 05/09/2011 08:12

I had the same thing of feeling kicks and movements which started a couple of weeks after giving birth. I was adamant I was pregnant as had read an article where this woman had got pregnant...while she was pregnant! God knows how she managed to do that but I was sure it was happening to me aswell.

14 months on and I'm still getting the same kicks and movement

So you have never heard that pregnancy tests for some women/pregnancies don't work? So you haven't read all the posts on this thread saying so?

MalibuStac · 05/09/2011 08:30

My mil didn't know she was pregnant till she went into labour, I think this may have been naivety in her part. My sil is now 45. Good luck today.

Iamjustthemilkmachine · 05/09/2011 09:59

Really want to know what happens!
One thing, if it's such a shock having a baby when you know it and have months to prepare, how do people cope when it's a surprise?? Confused

LoopyLoopsPussInBoots · 05/09/2011 12:13

bump (as it were!)

Seabright · 05/09/2011 13:39

eurochick · 05/09/2011 17:14

Hope you're ok x

parentfailure · 05/09/2011 20:37

How do YOU feel?

Seriously, I went to the drs more times than I could shake a stick at. Finally got a scan and DS was 22 weeks.

Previous assessments ruled out PG!!!

Marne · 05/09/2011 20:47

I would have asked for a scan or a blood test (at least). An old lady dh works with went to hospital with what she thought was kidney stones (many years ago, no scans in those days) and came home with a baby Shock, she never knew she was pg, had no morning sickness on anything.
