Ok Am I being unreasonable to think I might actually be pregnant??!

We have been trying for a baby, on and off for about 5 months now.

All preg tests have been neg except one which was touch and go but the next one was neg. Last one I did about 4 weeks ago.

I have had three periods since we started trying BUT have also been on and off the pill and we have changed our minds/changed again etc. In fact I have just finished a period today (but stopped pill about a week ago so probably not a real one IYKWIM).

For the last two weeks or so I have FELT A BABY MOVING IN MY TUMMY. I HAVE SEEN MY TUMMY MOVE - feels and looks exactly the same as when I was pregnant with DS.

DH just saw it and is totally freaked out.

Is this even possible ???!!!!!

I used to get this when I got stressed and got 'belly' problems - wind, stomach ulcers and IBS.

lubeybooby · 04/09/2011 11:43

Could still just be wind, it does crazy things sometimes. I've been to the doctor before with what you describe and definitely wasn't pregnant despite being totally convinced I could see and feel kicking.. Only way to know for sure is to get checked out properly

GetAwayFromHerYouBitch · 04/09/2011 11:45

I don't know. I don't want to burst your bubble (so to speak), but I get sensations in my tummy (not sure if it's uterus or stomach) that are exactly like early baby movements. Little pops. They are either wind or muscle contractions.

I have 2 DCs

GetAwayFromHerYouBitch · 04/09/2011 11:45

I developed IBS after DS2

2BoysTooLoud · 04/09/2011 11:45

Don't pregnancy tests not work after a few months of being pregnant?
[Ferocious wind is only other suggestion!].
Docs tomorrow me thinks.
Good luck.

TheProvincialLady · 04/09/2011 11:47

Wind does that to me these days and no baby has ever resulted from it (praise heaven), sorry! Unless there is another reason to suspect pregnancy, it is very unlikely. Can you feel your uterus? You would be able to if you were far along enough to be getting baby movements.

faverolles · 04/09/2011 11:49

I get feelings like this even though I know I'm definitely not pg.
Sometimes if you're hoping to be pg, your mind plays tricks on you.

If you've had periods and -ve tests, the likelihood is that you are not pg, but I suppose there is a teeny tiny chance.
Start taking folic acid just in case and go and see your dr. They may send you for a scan.

heroinahalfshell · 04/09/2011 11:49

I know, I would have to be at least 18 weeksish right? To be feelings and seeing movement. I'm sure it's also too high up for that early anyway.

It's just bizarre !!!!

Oops!

TheProvincialLady · 04/09/2011 11:52

Well go on then, feel your uterus now, live on the internet, just for meGrin

heroinahalfshell · 04/09/2011 11:53

I've already been taking folic acid as we have been trying (on and off).

It's actually seeing the movement that is odd - actually like a kick. Like a little patch of skin lifting and dropping a couple of times. And you know that "swiping" sensation.... yeah like that!

mousymouse · 04/09/2011 11:53

I have that when I had beans for breakfast Blush :o

only way to know is to poas Wink

but if it was neg 4 weeks ago, it is unlikely that you are that far along to be able to feel a baby move

heroinahalfshell · 04/09/2011 11:54

Ok TheProvincialLady - putting laptop down to lie on sofa and have a prod! Gimme a min....

I really hope it is!

Get to a GP tomorrow and let us know

heroinahalfshell · 04/09/2011 11:55

Gosh I'm not sure. Something does drop off sharply just below my belly button but I'm not sure.

I LOVE a poas thread!

TheMagnificentBathykolpian · 04/09/2011 11:56

I get this. I actually see and feel my stomach move. Sometimes sharp 'kick' like things. It's some sort of bowel carry on Grin

Only way to sort this is to go to GP.

RandomMess · 04/09/2011 11:56

Try the ice lolly or ice cold drink trick?

mistressploppy · 04/09/2011 11:58

Wind. I used to get kicks all the time BEFORE I was pregnant. I'm now nearly 18wks and nothing Grin

heroinahalfshell · 04/09/2011 11:59

mistress :D

Make an appointment at the Doctor's now! Phone 'em up!

CheshireDing · 04/09/2011 12:01

I think to actually see your tum move it has to be much further on because the baby is tiny, whilst you would feel movements a bit you would not see them.

Sorry I agree with others probably gas or IBS, which can really mess with your insides, have you had lots of wheaty type things?

HoneyPablo · 04/09/2011 12:03

Try clapping your hands very loudly next to your tummy. Do you get any movement in reaction to the noise?
My vote is on it being wind.

BimboNo5 · 04/09/2011 12:04

Probably not, the wishful thinking part of you is probably making you see it more as well iygwim
