Thanks pussycat. We did have a quickie last night (first time in about 6 weeks)so I suppose there is a slim chance but still looking forward to the new year to have a fresh start. Hope you got lovely pressies, I've got a good stash of smellies and jewellery fom Dh. Looking forward to a day in comfy clothes and a nice dinner with a few treats on the way ho ho ho

Coriander73 · 25/12/2005 20:46

Hi...anyone out there? How's the day been? DD very overwhelmed at the amount of paper & ribbon everywhere....DH got me a nice bag & Buzz...which has become totally addictive this evening....!!!!! I have suggested having a quick one tonight but DH says as we did it yday (we managed to escape for a siesta!) there's no point & anyway he's knackered!!!!! Today is day 17 so maybe I shouldn't worry?

You know what they say peachygirl...it only takes the once...6 weks or not!! On & up....

littlechristmaself · 26/12/2005 10:42

hi hope everyone had a good day. anyway am on day11 now been busy doing the deed .

can i sak am thick but whats bnf??

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 12:32

Hi little elf,
I think it's a typo for BFN! Hope things are going well for you.

littlechristmaself · 26/12/2005 12:48

oops i mean BFN( thats to much drink

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 12:53

What's bding? Also, do you think we should bother having sex today?

littlechristmaself · 26/12/2005 13:04

Coriander73 what day you on??

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 15:25

Hi again
Nice to see there are a couple of people around
BFN = big fat negative so BFP = big fat positive Bding - Babydancing = sex.
It took me ages to get the hang of the acronyms even with the list at the top there are some which are not up there!
Do you know your cycle Coriander? Have you any idea when you ovulate, tracking CM? Etc your egg lasts about three days, but sperm can hang around for up to five days so having sex before can fertilise but not after- does that make sense? sorry if I?m telling you something you already know

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 16:01

Day 18.....of a 28 day cycle....part of me feels that there's no point as I've probably ov now so as you point out the egg would have come & gone...if I ov days 13-14. However just been for a long walk & now feel a slight pain on the left side of my ovaries....probably nothing but I can't help wonder if I'm ov now or whether it's just normal pre period cramps but as I'm looking for something everything seems to be magnified...IYSWIM?.....

Last month we only managed to have sex days 13 & 16 & I didn't fall so this month ever since day 7 at the end of AF (roughly) we've had sex every other day including days 12,14 & 16....so whilst not wanting to get excited (if that's the right word) I can't help think that we've give it our best shot...or not as the ase maybe??

littlechristmaself · 26/12/2005 17:13

Coriander73 if your 28 days i think best days is 13 to16

peachygirl thank you

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 17:33

I think you are doing the right thing. You might as well have another go. It's all good practice LOL and maybe will help make you + DH feel closer

littlechristmaself · 26/12/2005 17:36

yes i agree i stated on day 8 this time and am gona keep going until day18

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 18:36

So tonight & then that's it? If I weren't to fall this month would you suggest it should be different times? I always thought it should be 13-16...although last month that didn't happen...maybe cos we actually only did it 13 & 16 IYSWIM?!!! Right o....let's give it another go & see....AF due 5 Jan.....arrhhggggg

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 19:49

Sorry to be so crude but how's your cervical mucus?
If you are not temping this is the best indicator of fertility. Have you had the EWCM (egg white cervical mucus)this month and do you know when this was? this indicates your most fertile time corresponding with ovulation, you should be moist and sticky leading up to this as this is your relatively fertile time a but after you will be drier (again aplologies if you already know this)
Remember that all women have different cycles, up until this month I was ovulating on days 16/17 If you have 28 day cycle it is likely you may ovulate between the days you say but it isn't always the case. So go for it!

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 20:09

I thought it was when the mucus was transparent & a little erhmm...sticky rather than egg white? I have had the EWCM but I cannot remember when that was but it's not now...there's nothing to write home about now.....hmm...so if I'm understanding you correctly is it when I first start to have the EWCM that I should be bding? Sorry if I sound a little naive on this but you read & hear so many different things don't you?......

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 20:37

It should be sort of clear slippery and very stretchy when you are fertile, I posted a link a while ago and this will take you a really good website (posted 12 dec)
go to indicators on the menu and then to recognising cervical mucus, this will take you through the phases of CM. You should really be trying from the first indicator of moist and sticky mucus which will be about a week before you ovulate and will lead into the EWCM. the website will show it better than I can explain! Hope you find this helpful

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 21:04

Thanks so much peachygirl....I do recall it was day 14 that I had the clear sticky strechy CM...that night we did have sex so maybe that's a good thing? I am trying not to think about it too much but it's hard isn't it?

peachygirl · 26/12/2005 21:07

I know what you mean. The fact that my cycle changed and I was away from Dh means that I'm not really upset about missing our christmas chance but a bit disappointed about what could have been, anyway can you belive it ironing to do on boxing day (at least it will be in front of a tom cruise movie!)

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 22:29

What's your situation? Is this your first? Happy ironing....

katiemelua · 26/12/2005 22:37

I would love baby number 3 and we are trying many times so count me in if you will please.

Coriander73 · 26/12/2005 22:57

Welcome Katiemelua (please explain?!)
How old are the other two? How long have you been trying?.........

peachygirl · 27/12/2005 13:37

Hi Coriander the ironing was ok got most of the easy stuff done, only DH shirts left for later!
This would be our first. I'm keen not to leave it too late,I'm 32 which I know is not old but I have friends having trouble TTC and am aware of risks as I get older (bit of a family history of infertilty and problems - brother with SEN and I work with SEN children) We have had a little talk about it all as I think DH would like to wait longer, however he is understanding of my concerns which I really appreciate. I'm certainly not demanding a baby just want to start being more serious about it all.
Welcome Katiemelua hope this is a lucky thread for you

JulesandTed · 27/12/2005 16:27
