Ai yes, broken nights!!!

DD has given us a fortnight of broken nights which has thrown us back to the dark old days of the first 8 weeks of gruelling demand feeding every hour & half through the night...just how do we survive to love them so?!!!! We are desperate to have another but if I think too much about just how ghastly those nights were, I'd never ever do it again...so I keep thinking about how gorgeous DD has been since she turned 1 - not that she wasn't before but since then it's like it's gone up another level...the interaction, the cuteness, just everything!!!!

Going4potty...5 years ago in answer to your question.

are the first few months truly horrendous then cori?? please say they arent that bad! I cant imagine how scary it must be to wait so long for your bambino to actually arrive, and then think wtf once its got there!

going4potty · 14/12/2005 14:09

corri, does she know how you feel? Would it help to tell her or not? Its such a shame, i already have a few nephews and i just love being an auntie. Your just so much cooler than mum

going4potty · 14/12/2005 14:12

ps, just thought, sorry if im prying, just tell me to stop yapping

bestxmaspressieever · 14/12/2005 15:17

I used first response early response(?) the pink one. af would be due tomorrow.

SnowQueenVictoria · 14/12/2005 15:19

faint pink is a still a line

SnowQueenVictoria · 14/12/2005 15:20

If you test again tomorrow or day after it should show stronger though.

Coriander73 · 14/12/2005 15:22

Pussycat...the majority of Mothers, if they're honest, would say that the first 8-12 weeks are the worst. Then it just gets better & better. By worst I mean, huge hormonal change, lack of sleep & demand feeding. Your whole life is turned upside down by this gorgeous little bundle & it's just a rollarcoaster ride. However, I don't want to be all doom & gloom as rest assured during those first tough weeks you also experience incredible joy, wonder, breathtaking amazement that you've been so clever in creating such a beautiful little thing! It reallly is the best thing I've done, ever.

If I knew then what I now know, it'd have been easier to cope in those dark moments of dispair! Nobody gives you a manuel (& for Gods sakes don't listen to Gina Ford!) & when you shut the door to the outside world & it's just the three of you...you each have to find your way & learn to be a family! DD is now 15 months & is the biggest joy in our lives........

Pottygirl, no, I've not really spoken to her about it. Difficult...

Beans, G4P and DissLocated I?m like you too, trying but not too seriously at the moment. A BFP would be great in Jan but I think it would really scare my DH. I should be ovulating on Christmas Eve / Christmas day so we shall see what happens. I too would like to think we will get caught up in the romance/ lust of it all.
Hello GemmityGem, what bad luck for you over Christmas.
Possible congratulations bestxmaspressieever.
Pussy cat Momma that babydust is magnificent I hope it wafts far and wide!
As for the conceiving after AF, Coriander. I think it can happen. With my temping I have to do a calculation where I count my shortest cycle and then take 20 days away and that is my first potentially fertile day of every cycle (even though I am still showing a bit of AF- sorry folks TMI) and my persona machine asked for a test today and it came up red- meaning the same thing. Did that make sense? I?m really sorry to hear about your eptopic and hope you will be lucky soon

going4potty · 14/12/2005 17:09

peachy, i seriously am not trying,no ovulationkits etc ?( never used them) may have to now that the naughty dr took away one of my tubes! Its a bit too soon after op for me. Only been out of Hospital a week 2morrow.

AChristmasCarolinamoon · 14/12/2005 17:30

Yeah, hopefully. Although I need a menstrual cycle first . Have been cutting down the bfing - now none during the day, so about 12 hours bf-free each day. I think things are changing, hormone-wise, but no actual AF (how I hate that phrase!) yet.

Ds is 13mo now, so we'll have at least a 2 year gap.

I have to say I don't actually feel all that broody atm, at least not compared with last time! This is a decision from the head (to give ds a sibling fairly close in age) rather than from the heart - but I'm sure I'll be won over when I get that blue line .

going4potty · 14/12/2005 17:35

can i be stupid and ask whats bfing? I think i know, but it has come up in strange conversations.

AChristmasCarolinamoon · 14/12/2005 17:40

breastfeeding

going4potty · 14/12/2005 17:44

as, i thought , thanks

IsawPussycatmommakissingsanta · 14/12/2005 18:27

peachy nice to see you on this thread, i think we spoke on a "planning ahead" thread that kind of died out. Its lovely to know there are others in the same boat. Cori, ive just been repeating your wise words to my dh, who says "are you on that blummin baby site again? you are all nutters you know! " , and by the way, i copied and pasted my baby dust, am useless at it! but that just makes it much more lucky by the way, as it was obviously created by the baby-fairies themselves...... xxx

peachygirl · 14/12/2005 19:51

LoL Pussycat My Dh is also not keen on this site ..I've had similar comments (poo to him)
I really hope you are feeling ok G4P that sounds really painful (I'm wincing as I write this) I hope you are on your sofa under your poorly blanket.

DissLocated · 14/12/2005 22:02

"when you shut the door to the outside world & it's just the three of you" ahhh, big sigh, soppy smile. best day of my life, coming home and the 3 of us going to bed, dd dozing on dh's chest. me prone on the bed, unable to get up due to cs and having got used to those magic beds in hospital that pitch you up and down at the touch of a button.

I had a faint line btw, followed by a proper one a couple of days later.

northerner · 15/12/2005 10:06
