Pussycatmomma - as a manager, i know that your company / manager, whoever, HAS to do everything within their power to support your return to work after long-term sick leave (7 weeks would be classed as long term sick leave Im pretty sure). This includes returning part time - whether this is a day a week, 2 days a week or whatever you feel happy with. You also need to be referred to occupational health. If you cannot go back to the position you were in as it is too stressful, etc, then they must try to move you to another department which is suitable. You must discuss the issue of bullying with occupational health, as they can help with your deployment in a way so that you dont have to confront your current manager.

Please also get in touch with your local mental health team, or Psych Nurse as they will give you support when you need it, and it sounds liek you do need it at the moment. Glad your DH is also supportive.

Thinking of you and hope today went well xxx

pussycatmomma · 11/01/2006 16:07

hiya trace...just got in and sorted , only just had chance to log on. Thankyou so much for chatting last night, it really helped , especially trying to take my mind off stuff.
Well, ive been (to work). Boss never even spoke to me, not even good morning. I am not feeling so shook up today as i was yesterday, and i feel a bit more in control. I am going to ask to speak to my line managers line manager iyswim. im going to be brave and ask for a confidential meeting, and take my colleague in with me, just so i can get it all off my chest so to speak. If i dont get anywhere I think i am going to put in a formal grievance with the union.
Have i done good? x

hellomama · 11/01/2006 16:11

Pussycatmomma - you did great! Well done you for keeping calm and professional - alot more than can be said of your awful sounding manager! I think the idea of a meeting and taking a colleague with you is a good step forward. Good luck!
