I'll be keeping everything crossed for you, the test and the symptoms sound really positive so please try not to worry too much and try and enjoy your trip. Let us know how you get on. xx

Loup23 · 04/01/2012 20:52

Tina / AP i've just seen this..... hope it's all ok and nothing to worry about - keeping everything crossed for you, big hugs x

TomboyWife · 04/01/2012 22:03

Keeping everything crossed for you Tina / AP. So sorry you're having to go through all this scary stressful crap again. Sad

Moominsummermadness · 08/01/2012 18:29

Hope everything is ok, Amandine, keeping everything crossed for you.

I'm even more unsure of where I am with things now. I started what appeared to be my period late Tuesday night (my birthday!!)/ Wednesday morning. It has gone on since then (although seems to have pretty much ground to a halt), and was much, much lighter than usual- I usually have moderately heavy, 8ish day periods. I know that it is probably things settling down still, but niggling away in the back of my mind is that the last time I had what seemed to be a period at the right time, but much lighter, was when I was actually pregnant, but then went on to have a MMC. I have no symptoms, except for feeling tired (but this isn't surprising working full-time with 3 DCs!), but if I WAS pregnant, I think I would only just be about 4 weeks. I wasn't going to test, but have just ordered a couple of cheap pregnancy tests with the weekly online shop, more to rule it out than anything. In any case, I've finally got the appointment for my pelvic ultrasound scan (following passing retained products 2 months after ERPC!) for Friday, so I might know what is going on then.

Hope everyone else is ok!

AmandinePoulain · 09/01/2012 18:14

I'm becoming nervous for the big S tomorrow, mainly dreading going back to the corridor epu Sad

Moominsummermadness · 09/01/2012 19:01

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow, Amandine. Really hope everything is ok.

Well, I did a pregnancy test when I got home from work, and sure enough, a very faint positive. Now I'm scared stiff. Trying not to get my hopes up, am still spotting brownish discharge, and it would be very early days (3+5). I know it seems ridiculously early to have even tested, but I felt so similar to last time, although I was in France, and had to wait until I was a few days late to test. So scared that if this is definitely a positive (will retest in the morning to certainty), that things will go t* up again. The line is so incredibly faint (not an evap line though), that it may possibly be a chemical pregnancy, and I fully expect it to have disappeared by the morning. Will keep you all posted.

AmandinePoulain · 09/01/2012 19:23

Congratulations moomin Smile. Good luck with tomorrows test. If it's positive it may be worth a trip to the GP?

Moominsummermadness · 09/01/2012 20:08

Thanks, if it's positive, I might give it a week until I'm at least 5 weeks, and then see GP. They haven't been exactly brilliant in the past, and know that even if I am bleeding, they won't refer me to the EPU until 6 weeks. Really want to avoid that place at all costs!!

Loup23 · 10/01/2012 09:11

Good luck today amadine fingers crossed all is ok Grin x

GreenOlives · 10/01/2012 09:16

Congrats Moomin, really hoping you have a nice strong positive this morning!

Good luck today Amandine, let us know how you get on. xx

AmandinePoulain · 10/01/2012 09:35

Just come out of scan, everything is fine, the bleeding is from a little bruise but no where near the baby and there's just one! Grin. I'm thinking I'll stop the aspirin though.

AmandinePoulain · 10/01/2012 11:20

Any news from moonin?

Loup23 · 10/01/2012 12:16

Yay amandine great news!

Congratulations to moomin as well - hope the EPU can reassure you x

GreenOlives · 10/01/2012 15:20

Grin Great news Amandine!

Moominsummermadness · 10/01/2012 17:15

Thanks Ladies, although I'm not counting myself as really pregnant yet. I had another faint positive this morning, but it was even fainter than the first. Just hoping that it's too early, but as I did have a bit of a bleed last week and am still having light brown discharge, I expect it all to be over almost as soon as it has begun. I'm going to re-test on Friday.

Great news Amandine, what a relief!

TomboyWife · 10/01/2012 19:51

Hooray Amandine, you must be so relieved!

Moomin, out of curiosity, did you get a negative test after your mc finally resolved? Keeping everything crossed for you that you get a nice strong positive on Friday!

Nothing new from me. My due date came and went last week and I was a bit of a depressed, short-tempered mess for a few days. DH and I have both been fairly blue in general. I think hitting the 2-year mark of TTC has been rather a blow. (And as far as we know, there's nothing actually wrong with either of us. It's just various combinations of stress-induced anovulation and bad luck.)

Moominsummermadness · 10/01/2012 20:01

Tomboy, despite there being retained products- I actually got a negative about 3 weeks after ERPC. This was confirmed by GP when I went to see her on 7th December. It had crossed my mind though that maybe the those tests were less sensitive than the Tesco ones I used yesterday and today- and in actual fact I'm still picking up tiny amounts of HGC from the miscarriage! Will see if anything comes to light at the pelvic scan on Friday- obviously it would be far too early to see anything I was pregnant, but if there are still retained products, they might show.

Sorry you felt so horrible last week, I keep thinking about my due date in April, and really hoping that I'll have a viable pregnancy by then! It's so hard to imagine actually having a pregnancy that goes to full term.

TomboyWife · 10/01/2012 20:19

Moomin if you got a negative test when you did, it certainly sounds to me like this is a new pregnancy and not hormones hanging around from the old one. Good luck on Friday -- I'm sure everything will be fine!

Moominsummermadness · 13/01/2012 17:33

Evening ladies,

I had the scan to check for retained products today- what a drama it turned out to be. I had to have an internal due to my tilted uterus, and after what seemed like an eternity, the sonographer said she needed to get a second opinion. After the second lady had a look, she said that there was a cyst measuring on my ovary, and a lot of free fluid around it. I didn't mention that I had a really faint postive on a pregnancy test, but they asked me for a urine sample, and sure enough-positive. The sonographer went to speak to the consultant, and when she came back she said it's either a very early pregnancy, too small to see anything in the uterus- or a possible ectopic. This really scared me. I had to go for an urgent blood test, will be contacted by the on-duty dr tonight to tell me whether I have to go back on Sunday or Monday for the repeat. It needs to have doubled next time I have it taken. Am praying that it's just an early 3-4 week pregnancy (they did say this is the most likely).

AmandinePoulain · 13/01/2012 17:52

moomin I don't know if you've ever met dachs but she has been through a similar scan experience I believe that ended well Smile. I've asked her to come and chat to you if that's ok? Fx for you xxxx

DiffedAgainDachs · 13/01/2012 18:21

moomin I am currently 24 weeks with my first, after losing twins in May. Had a real scare when i went for my first scan at 6 weeks and there were burst cysts on the ovaries, with free fluid around them and they told me it was a suspected ectopic. However, it turned out to be nothing and my pg is fine. There is usually free fluid around after ovulation, and lots of people will have a cystic appearance after ovulation, so it's really really nothing to worry about, honest. They gave me a list of symptoms to look out for, including pain in that general area and shoulder tip pain, which I'm assuming they gave you as well? Don't worry about the blood test results - if your urine test was positive all the first blood test will do is confirm that hcg is present and they'll prob then def call you back for the second test. And even if that doesn't double, it could still be within perfectly normal parameters. So really, don't assume the worst xxx

Moominsummermadness · 15/01/2012 07:41

Hello Dachs- I remember you from the freak out room thread when I was pregnant which ended in MMC in October. So glad things are going well for you this time! I actually do recall you saying that about your scan now, that's very reassuring. I suppose that they have to rule certain things out just to be certain, and I know that it would be too early to even see just a gestational sac at just 4 weeks (might even be less). Thank you for coming on here to give me some reassurance, and thank you Amandine, too! xxx

TomboyWife · 15/01/2012 10:24

Moomin all this talk about scans and cysts has made me remember the scan I had after my MC. They gave me a copy of my notes and I saw that they'd classified one of my ovaries as cystic. When I asked them what that meant, they said, "Don't worry, it doesn't mean anything."

In my case they also told me that they needed to rule out ectopic even though I don't see how I possibly could have had one (I'd very definitely miscarried a complete gestational sac 2 days before). It sounds to me like they're just being super-mega-cautious in your case as well.

AmandinePoulain · 21/01/2012 09:24

moomin, how are you?

I'm 8 weeks today and feeling pretty rubbish. The nausea is both wearing and reassuring. My last baby died at 8 weeks so every little twinge or momentary lack of symptoms is very stressful. On the plus side I'm all booked in with the nice mw I had last time and I've got a little bump Smile

TomboyWife · 21/01/2012 13:07

Amandine hooray for being booked in! And hugs for being worried it'll go wrong again. I suppose it's inevitable for those of us who've suffered losses I'm already worried about it and I'm not even pg again yet but I hope the next 4 weeks go really fast and you have a lovely, reassuring 12-week scan. Which I'm sure you will. Smile

Moomin any news?
