Izzy I posted on the grads thread but am so excited I had to post on here too! So happy for you, wonderful news. Thank you for all your support on these threads, I can still remember the day you got your bfp!

I hope your bits feel less sore soon (and I hope that my labour is as quick as yours - way to go girl!) xx

lily06 · 06/12/2011 10:06

Lovely news Izzy Smile

Very quite in here - hope that means everyone is ok

No sign of AF here yet, 4 weeks since erpc. Good news we have an appt with the fertility clinic in Jan, so feel like we're moving forward at least.

< waves to all >

getawiggleon · 06/12/2011 16:03

Lily There's nothing quite like an appt with an expensive fertility clinic to bring on a BFP. We ended up with a bfp on the day of our initial consultation! I hope af comes and goes before Christmas, mine took 5 weeks and 6 weeks to arrive post erpcs but I know some took less than that. Do you know if you have ov'd since ERPC?

Moominsummermadness · 06/12/2011 18:14

Congratulations Izzy!

Lily, hope your AF turns up soon, I was told to expect AF between 4 and 6 weeks post ERPC. Mine took 4 weeks.

On that note, my marathon AF is still here, 4 weeks later. I finally went to see Dr today, was a lovely locum who was alarmed at my 4 weeks of bleeding. I'd been putting off going, as I was worried about being fobbed-off about it being some post-miscarriage thing. Dr has prescribed a 10 day course of Norethisterone, to at least give me a break from bleeding for a bit, once the bleeding has stopped, I've got to go back for an examination and some swabs. My thyroid was a bit borderline 18 months ago, so I've had a blood test for thyroid function, and she also told me that the pre-ERPC blood test came back with borderline anaemia (even though the 2 other gps I've seen since haven't mentioned it), so my blood count's been taken too. I've had to put TTC on the back-burner for the time being, am really hoping that it'll just be a blip and I'll be functioning normally again soon! So badly want another baby!!

lily06 · 07/12/2011 11:30

Moomin glad your doc was helpful, I know what you mean about not wanting to go in case they think you're making a fuss over nothing. Sounds like you are in good hands there, and though a break from ttc isn't ideal hopefully it will put you back on track very soon.

Wiggle that's what happened to me last time, so keeping my fingers crossed!

Ostrich78 · 07/12/2011 18:35

Hi all,

Really lovely news, well done Izzy, sounds like it was a great birth!

I've been trying to ignore (but not very successfully) the fact I had a BFP a few weeks ago, I have a doctors app Tuesday so I'll mention (ha, so casual) it then but I'm having trouble thinking that I am pregnant. I think I'll only stop worrying once we've had the 12 week scan which looks like it'll be around Christmas/New Year.....

I love that you have a doppler Knitter and glad you're able to use it x

Wiggle That's great news, good luck for the next scan x

Fingers crossed for everyone else xxxxx

GreenOlives · 07/12/2011 19:00

Hi ladies,

Great news Izzy, your labour sounds brilliant and Catherine is a beautiful name Xmas Smile

Glad your scan went well Wiggle and that you are starting feel positive about this pregnancy. I am hoping that you get a labour just like Izzy's Xmas Wink

Loving the sneaky doppler fixes Knitter, roll on 16 week appt!

Lily, hoping that your AF shows up soon so you can crack on with the TTC again And really hoping that Moomin's buggers off right now! I'm glad the doc is on the case now Moomin, hopefully they will get it sorted!

I think the "head in sand" approach is very sensible Ostrich, throw yourself into Xmas preparations and that 12 week scan will soon be upon you.

Not much to report from the Olives household. I have a week off work which is lovely but seems to be going too quick! I've had lots of social events and more coming up at the weekend and that seems to have left me with very little time for all the practical stuff I need to do! Tomorrow is operation Christmas shopping and I'm dreading it! CD13 here, no Smile on my OPK yet but we did SWI last night (despite my extreme tiredness hangover!) Am planning to keep up the SWI every day until at least CD18, if we can both manage it!

TomboyWife · 07/12/2011 22:36

Evening ladies!

Sorry to have been AWOL for the past few days. This wretched thing called my social life has been keeping me out til the wee small hours. Oh woe is me. Xmas Grin

Izzy huge congratulations on your little one! And in only 56 minutes too, wow!

lily good luck with your appointment, and as others have said, fingers crossed that Sod's Law kicks in and you don't need it.

Moomin sorry to hear you're still bleeding, but it's good to hear the doctor took it seriously and is attempting to do something about it.

Ostrich sounds like trying not to think about it too much is a good plan. With Chrimbo in full swing there ought to be lots of lovely things to distract yourself with.

Olives good luck with SWI!

at anyone I've missed.

For my part, I'm feeling very luteal here. Thinking back on it, it could be that that single solitary spot I got a couple of weeks ago was a real period (real in that it started a new cycle, not real in that it was in any way a respectable excuse for a period). For the past couple of days I've had tiredness and sore nipples, which I'm interpreting in the most optimistic way possible. I may come crashing down to earth in a couple of weeks, but for now I'm cautiously hopeful.

KnitterNotTwitter · 08/12/2011 22:32

Hey gorgeous ladies...

Just checking in to say hi and update you on my midwifes appointment today. BUT Izzy's news is just the best ever - well done and what a beautiful name. I hope you're enjoying baby snuggles and generally feeling like a very clever mummy :)

Moomin sounds like you got a sensible doctor - great news even if it dose mean postponing the TTC... sounds like they've got a good plan for you that means when you do get back down to it you'll have a better chance if that makes sense because you'll be all prepared and boosted.

The midwives appointment was good this morning We're planning a home birth for the bean so she came to the house which was lovely. We chatted for ages and she very kindly listened to all my tales of the losses before we actually moved on to the business at hand! My blood pressure is lovely and the bean's heart beat was perfect. There was some protein in my wee so I had to squeeze a second sample out of my kidneys and it goes off to the lab for some tests or other...

The only other thing was that because DS1 was big (10lb 6oz) she has to get a consultants views on the home birth - they can't say 'no' but they can discourage us :(

I think thats it from me.... hugs to everyone... I'm off to have a teeny lurk on the Grads thread...wish me luck!

lily06 · 09/12/2011 11:36

Hey Knitter lovely to hear from you and great that everything is going well. Really hope they are happy for you to have the home birth. Have fun on the grads thread!

Tomboy that does sound like it could have been a very light AF in that case - will be keeping fx for you.

Greenolives hope the SWI is going well!!

Ostrich how are you feeling? Its a long wait til 12 weeks, isn't it.

No news here, and I seem to be suffering POAS withdrawal symptoms, its been at least 3 weeks since I used one. Now, please tell me to be rational and NOT to waste an expensive cb digi since its only 4 1/2 weeks since my erpc and just 3 weeks since we started TTC again. I have no symptoms or any resaon to use the cb, just its sitting in the cupboard calling me.....

In an attempt to get a bit healthier I've joined weight watchers and I've lost 7lb in the first 2 weeks. I have to say I feel much better for it already, only another 3 1/2 stone to go!

< waves to all >

TomboyWife · 10/12/2011 13:38

lily you can get cheap (but perfectly effective) pg tests in 25 packs from Amazon if you're worried about the cost of your POAS habit. For example:

www.amazon.co.uk/Ultra-Early-Highly-Sensitive-Pregnancy/dp/B001G61MU4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1323524099&sr=8-4

Good work on the weight loss!

It looks like my symptoms were PMT symptoms rather than pg symptoms: I appear to be starting AF. This is slightly disappointing, but at least my cycle is doing what it's meant to be doing again (I hope).

KnitterNotTwitter · 10/12/2011 16:42

lily I have a load of cheepy pg tests and ov sticks you're welcome to have... just PM me your address and I'll happily send them on... They've got about 6 months left before their out of date - so hopefully I won't be needing them :)

edwardcullensotherwoman · 12/12/2011 12:42

Hi everyone!

Congrats to Izzy , lovely news Smile

Knitter , good luck with the 16 week appointment, mine's booked for January, something is telling me that's the point I'll start to relax a bit more (although I've told a few more people this weekend so that's helped too)

Lily well done on WW - I was a member before I got pg, and will be going back after the baby (still have about 2 stone to lose) but I lost 2 stone in 6 months with them for my wedding last year. Good luck with it! And good luck with the appointment in the New Year (although like everyone else has said, I hope you find you don't need it Smile )

I have my dating scan tomorrow I'm a bit nervous about it, although everyone around me (including DH) is positive and looking forward to it!
I'm supposed to have a blood test on Thursday to find out the gender, but I'm not sure I want it. I can't decide whether I want the surprise after the birth, or know in advance!

to everyone

Ostrich78 · 13/12/2011 13:43

Hi all,

Lily well done on the WW! I did Slimming World a few years ago and I really liked knowing what I could and couldn't eat - good luck and with the app in the NY!

Knitter she sounds like a lovely midwife, hopefully you'll get your home birth with no troubles.

Ed good luck with your dating scan, really hope it goes well.

GreenOlives I have obviously grown into my nickname!

I turned up for my 1st app at the doctors this morning only to be told I hadn't been registered properly so my app wasn't in the system and I have to wait until Monday. I was really upset - so much for being nonchalant! I'm putting it down to hormones as I'm welling up at joke emails today....

Also, is it usual to be given an early scan after a MC?

Ox

Moominsummermadness · 13/12/2011 18:19

Hello lovely ladies!

Well, I've had an eventful week. Went to GP regarding 4 week-long AF, starting 2 weeks after post-ERPC fortnight-long bleeding stopped. GP was a bit alarmed, did a preg test (BFN) and put me on Norethisterone tablets to stop the bleeding, and said I'd need to come back for some swabs and examination. That night, I felt something 'fall out', and it appeared to be something left over from the miscarriage, was 3 cm long. I panicked, was shocked, so called midwife MIL. She said to keep it cold, and take to Dr in the morning, which I did. Dr sent it to the lab for analysis. In the meantime, she sent a referral for a scan. The results came back today, it was confirmed that it was a piece of placenta. Dr called a gynaecologist at the hospital, to try and get me in for a scan urgently, but they said that because bleeding had stopped, and there is no obvious sign of infection, they wouldn't even see me! My Dr, who has been lovely, said to stick with the scan appointment, when it comes through, but it won't be this side of Christmas. I'm just praying that there are no more 'retained products', and that my body will now get back to normal. It's horrible though, having that happen 8 weeks after the ERPC!!!

On a sad note, SIL's IVF didn't work, and it's the end of the road for them. I'm gutted for them.

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Christmas! x

TomboyWife · 15/12/2011 18:21

Moomin Shock Wow, what a cock-up! How utterly awful. Fx the bleeding stays away and this really is the end of the ordeal for you.

Very sorry to hear about your SIL as well. Sad

Nothing really new from me. AF has come and gone, it was basically a normal AF, and I'm hoping I might lay a nice normal egg in a week or so. My due date is fast approaching and I'm getting depressed that not only am I not pg, but my cycle hasn't even got back to a point where I'm likely to get pg. (Well, hopefully things will tick over properly from now, but it's taken bloody long enough...)

AandRMum · 16/12/2011 17:43

Hi All, It has been a while! I finally managed to see Dr S and I have high NK cells so I start on streroids in the New Year and will hopefully have better luck next time (5th time lucky!)

Brilliant news Izzy Congrats!

Pleased to see it is going well knitter hope you get a home birth - I want that too and will have the same issue with two 10lbs behind me!

Waves to all - I will have a read and catch up on everyone's news

getawiggleon · 16/12/2011 20:11

Runs in to give AandR a big squeeze. It's lovely to have you back Smile.
Glad you've seen Dr S and that you have a plan in place. Digi was treated by Dr S for high nk cells and she's sailing past 20 weeks now. I took prednisolone during my last pg and didn't have any side effects and it was fine weaning off them after 12 weeks x

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 16/12/2011 21:24

Just popping in to give aandr a big (((hug))) - lovely to hear from you, chica Smile. So glad you managed to see Dr S and are finally getting the steroids - I know this has been really successful for quite a few people so I'll be keeping everything crossed for some good news from you in the New Year xx

moomin hope you're ok, that must have been such a shock! Can't believe they won't scan you earlier (well actually I can Sad ) but hopefully the scan in the new year will set your mind at rest.

KnitterNotTwitter · 16/12/2011 21:43

delurking and saying hi (especially to AandR )

All continues to go well here - we're 18 weeks tomorrow which seems almost unbelievable. Had quick doppler this evening and hb lovely and strong.

Have also been brave enough to mention the pg in some of the Xmas cards...!

mousebacon · 18/12/2011 09:06

Hi ladies, nice to see you back AandR Smile

Just delurking to give you all a wave.

Ostrich78 · 21/12/2011 20:05

Hello if anyone is still here!

Moomin fingers crossed that the scan comes through soon and shows the all clear, that must have been really awful for you xx Sorry to hear about your SIL x

Knitter so good to hear alls going well. The doppler sounds like it's coming in handy for you!

I'm hoping to be 10 weeks tomorrow but I'm really worried about lack of symtoms (I had nausea, sore boobs and an overwhelming tiredness with my ds). No scan date yet but checking my boobs and the toilet paper inbetween manic Christmas shopping!!!

Hope everyone's well, and looking forward to hear how you're all doing.

ZamMummyInGabs · 21/12/2011 21:49

Also delurking to give everyone a festive especially AandR - glad you got somewhere at last. We will be back to TTC in a couple of weeks when we get back to Botswana (been in UK since 3rd Dec till 29th) - have been having a month off to take anti-ulcer meds (brought on by the aspirin - joy!) and vitex to lengthen LP, which seems to have worked. It's been lovely not temping, might carry on with that if I can restrain myself from trying to control everything.....
Seeing best friends next week who have had 4 x unsuccessful IVF Sad and, I think, reached the end of the road so keeping things firmly in perspective and enjoying the wonderful DSs I have - who saw snow for the first time last week, and we all went sledging Grin.
Have a wonderful Christmas all, hope i haven't missed any BFP's xxx

Blackkat · 22/12/2011 21:38

wanted to say hello to AandR and Zam, so lovely to hear from you both. Smile

Also to let you all know that our baby girl arrived on Tuesday morning, and I wanted to thank all of you who have supported me since my mc, on the just mc, FO room threads and here in the common room. I have found such friendship, support and understanding here I will always be very grateful.

Wishing all the best to all of you and looking forward to hearing good news from you.

Tina, Lily and *Falcon, if you are lurking, lots of love and hugs x x x x

Loup23 · 23/12/2011 12:39

Hi ladies, sorry for being AWOL for so long, after another set of normal tests I though we'd ride the year out and go for a specialist appt in Jan but have just had the biggest shock, after 9 months of post mc cycles finally got a BFP this morning...... Grin. Am literally borderline 4 weeks so very early days but really hoping this could be it......

Anyway wanted to pop in to say hi and to thank you all for your support, I shall be lurking and praying for the next 8 weeks to pass without trauma..

Huge congratulations to the new beans that have arrived - what lovely Christmas presents!

xx
