Wishing you lots of luck today knitter

hey there wonderful, wonderful ladies...

Well it's all good news. Can't tell you how amazing that feels.

I lay there on the scanning bed silently crying as he scanned around pointing out how our baby was dancing and waving. He finally noticed that I was crying when I let out a sob and he said 'what is the matter'. I said 'please just do the Nuchal and tell us the result' and so he did.

Bean came back with a 1:2000 chance of having Downs. We decided that was more than good enough and so we wouldn't have the CVS because of the risk of miscarriage associated with the CVS itself. We'd said that as long as the risk factor was better than 1:500 we'd not CVS.

Bean is measuring spot on for dates and has all his bells and whistles. He was indeed wriggling around and waving a lot which was totally wonderful.

Thank you so much for all the lovely thoughts and fingers crossing. You're the only people who know about the bean (apart from DH and DS) and it's meant so much to have your support.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 08/11/2011 15:59

knitter that's absolutely fantastic news!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin. I've been lurking on here all day waiting to hear, so so pleased that it went well xxx

digitalgirl · 08/11/2011 17:06

brilliant news knitter, must be so relieved, yay!!!!

GreenOlives · 08/11/2011 17:16

Grin Grin Grin Knitter That's fantastic news! I am so pleased for you. I notice you are calling bean "he", is that just intuition that baby knitter is of the blue variety? Or do you alternate using he/she to describe bean? I only ask because I'm always in awe of people who "know" what they're having. I had no idea when I was pregnant with DS (although I was really keen to have a boy so maybe my subconscious mind knew it was a boy!)

Velvetcu · 08/11/2011 17:41

Yay yippee GrinGrin fab news knitter im so very pleased for you!

Moominsummermadness · 08/11/2011 18:15

Brilliant news, Knitter! xx

mousebacon · 08/11/2011 19:12

That's fantastic news knitter Grin Congratulations!

Had my booking in appointment today. I'm 9 weeks now. Got another scan a week today. Think I'll be able to relax a bit once we get to that 10 week mark.

Waves to all Smile

Hey there - thanks so much for all the excitement - it's such a good feeling after everything we've been through...

olives DS is convinced it's a boy so we've been calling the bean 'he' for that reason... From the scan today it's got DH's nose like DS had which I look back on as the sign that I should have realised DS was going to not be a DD!!

GreenOlives · 08/11/2011 22:24

Ah I see Knitter, so it's your DS's intuition - sounds like he could be right then if the nose is a giveaway! Are you planning on finding out the gender at the 20 week scan?

KnitterNotTwitter · 08/11/2011 22:38

he's been right so far and seems to have some sort of intuitive link with the baby - freaky child :)

ZamMummyInGabs · 09/11/2011 05:57

Fantastic news for knitter Grin Grin - delighted for you.
And mouse with your booking in appt - yay!
In my news I'm now on Cyclogest after CP no 2/3..... anyone got any experiences with it?
Also started taking Agnus Castus this cycle and it seems to have brought ov forward, so prob missed egg-catching for this month. Humph. FF is v confused tho, so maybe we'll get lucky. If not will be taking a month off as we are coming home to UK for a month on Dec 2nd which is just about ov time, plus don't want to get BFP /poss another CP / start the whole injecting palaver again / when away from home. So it will be January. But neither DH nor I are sure how much longer we can carry on with the emotional rollercoaster that is TTC & MC Sad
Will give it till March I reckon....
Woo hoo for MummyA!!! Massive congratulations on birth of Baby Max!! (fab name btw - would love to have chosen it but no go with our surname)
Big waves to all xxx

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/11/2011 10:25

mouse yay for booking in!

zam will keep my fx that the timing's right for you this month, it is so infuriating when your cycle starts messing you around! If it doesn't work this time then maybe a month off will be a good thing - it does take some of the pressure off and can have surprisingly good results!

I hope no one minds me asking but I'm having a clear out and wondered if anyone wanted any ov tests? I've uncovered a stash of about 75 Internet cheapies Blush with expiry dates between July and November next year (2012), free to a good home just let me know if you want any and pm me your address. Also got an unopened pack of 7 clearblue digital ov tests (smiley faces) and 4 more in an opened pack; the 4 have expiry date of May 2011 and the 7 are October 2011 but I can't imagine they just stop working on that date so if anyone wants to give them a whirl then again let me know - free to anyone that wants them.

KnitterNotTwitter · 09/11/2011 12:00

mouse sorry I missed your booking in news - totally self-absorbed of me Blush well done for that... keep knocking over those milestones and it'll be baby o'clock before we know it :)

Izzy fingers crossed i won't be PG testing before Nov 2012 .... so they'll probably find a better home than me... Good point though - should check the expiry date on my ov and pg stick stash!!

Still on a high here - have told family and close friends... news and scan photo to go up on FB later tonight m'thinks!!

mousebacon · 09/11/2011 16:03

Don't be silly knitter ! Like you say, it was another little milestone Smile

The mw had a student in on her first day of her first ever placement. I think she was traumatised after listening to be obstetric history. I see it as a public service - she'll have learned more in that hour with me than a week in a classroom... Grin

Waves to all xx

Stash gone - will post out tomorrow!

Youremindmeofthebabe · 10/11/2011 14:18

Hey ladies! Congratulations on that news Knitter, it must be a real weight off. Now only a few more weeks to get through, it'll fly by!

mouse hurrah for booking in! Really chuffed for you.

Waves to all, hope everyone is well and happy.

edwardcullensotherwoman · 10/11/2011 14:30

Hello! Grin for knitter - fab news from the scan! really pleased for you.

mouse must be nice to be officially booked in now Smile

Hope everyone else is well!

I had the best birthday present ever this morning - perfect scan, heartbeat and all! Confirmed as 7 weeks, no need for bloods or to go back to EPU, so just have to wait to see midwife at the end of the month Grin

GreenOlives · 10/11/2011 15:13

Hey edward, fabulous scan news and a very happy birthday to you too Thanks Grin Grin Treat yourself to some Wine (Shloer of course!)

I'm struggling with not TTC in this WTF cycle. Have got lots of ovulation pain and EWCM (TMI!) but DH is adamant that we wait until next month to give me a chance to heal properly. I realise he's probably right but even so I'm finding it frustrating!!

Hello to all!
x

KnitterNotTwitter · 11/11/2011 21:22

great news edward and Happy Birthday

olives well done to your DH for his zen-like restraint... he's just doing it to make himself even more desirable for next month...

My DH has been growing a Movember Moustache. Has shaved it off now as I've explained that the mo is the reason he's not been getting any :)

edwardcullensotherwoman · 12/11/2011 22:16

Thanks ladies Smile

olives my DH was exactly the same in the cycle after mc (even though I didn't have surgery or anything), so can sympathise with the frustration! Hope next month comes quickly for you Grin and hope you are healing well.

knitter I had to "lol" at your DH's mo, and shaving it off for you, bless him. DH has got a bit of a "cba beard and tache" going on atm, I may have to give a bit of an explanation too!

Moominsummermadness · 13/11/2011 10:57

Brilliant news, Edward!

Knitter, my DH is also growing a mo, but at the moment it's a full beard, and will shave it into a moustache next weekend apparently. I can't stand it- his brother's told him that it looks good, I've just told him that it looks ridiculous, and brother isn't the one who had to kiss him! He's got a shaven head, so it just looks wrong, lol.

I got my first post m/c period on Friday, after a couple of days of spotting (was hoping it might be implantation bleeding, but we hadn't reallt TTC). I'm quite pleased, as it was only 4 weeks and 3 days after the EPRC, and I wasn't expecting things to return to normal quite as quickly. We now officially have the green light to TTC, as we advised to wait for one period. Just hope it doesn't drag on for too long, they last for up to nine days sometimes.

TomboyWife · 16/11/2011 23:04

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. We took a short break in Cornwall. A lovely and relaxing time was had by all, but there was basically no internet.

knitter and edward fantastic scan news! So pleased for you both! Grin

Moomin good to hear your WTF cycle is over.

Still no AF for me. I'm pretty convinced my body just skipped a period and decided to wait for the next one. It's happened before, once after an injury and again on my 8-week WTF cycle. I'll probably phone the GP if nothing happens in the next week though.

lily06 · 18/11/2011 11:34

Morning ladies. Well, I'm back on the rollercoaster that is TTC. Just though I'd check in here and see how everyone else is doing. Lovely to see good scan news.
