Let's crack on.

Wants3 · 21/08/2011 16:49

Ok, can I join here? Just in my first month of TTC but not expecting anything straight away, I am not telling anyone so it will be nice to have someone to talk to occasionally. I can offer jammie dodgers if required!:)

jenfraggle · 21/08/2011 17:03

Welcome wants, by joining this thread you are now officially pregnant. All you need to do is find a pee stick that agrees which will certainly help by offering us all food :)

dreamfeeder · 21/08/2011 17:48

My allocated MN time, Wink

Hello wants, I also want 3 children if thats what you mean- well, i'd like 4 but i'll be lucky to persuade dh to 3 I think!! Of course you'll be pg this month, why ever not now you're on this thread Smile

Now, where's maybe lurking? Not heard anything from her, and I can't remember when she's meant to be confirming...
And farfalla, though the evil witch did turn up and spoil her weekend... And has anybody seen have or Little on their travels?? Surely Littles B vit induced BFP, and have's ironic one should be arriving in the next couple of weeks??

lol, jen, glad you had a solioquay nice chat with dh. This month will be YOUR month, along with your cycle buddies of course.

Now, tomorrow I am going to ring my GP to decline my smear as pg (Yay!!!!!!!!) and ask to be re-sent for in a year. This means they will (like last time) say oh, do you think you're pg? me: yes, I am. Them: well, first you need to drop in a urine sample to be sent to the lab for testing before we can let you book in with the midwife. Me: can I not just bring in a pg test. Them: ohhhhhh noooooooo- it gets sent off, result in 3 days. WTF??? My dh says there's nothing like this at his practice- knocked up- book them in!!! Though maybe thats if he's seen them and done the pipette pee-test... And as we are off on hol for 2 weeks next weekend, i'll have to do it now to be seen at 8 weeks to get the all-important 12 week scan booked!!!

MyGoldenNotebook · 21/08/2011 18:03

Right! Popped my first pregnacare pill this morning. It's CD 4 and so by tomorrow evening I should be able to begin my Scarlet / Dream inspired SWI marathon. I have no idea when I ovulate. I did use OPKs in June (Boots' own brand) which was my first proper month of trying, but I never got a positive result, so now refuse to try using them as I'm afraid they will stress me out. I figure if I do the deed every other day for the month I have a good chance of smacking the rascal.

There is not a brook to be had in the Notebook household this month!

Is anyone else about to begin SWI-ing?

scarletfingernail · 21/08/2011 18:38

Interesting day here. My parents have just left after spending the afternoon and having dinner with us. Mum was very suspicious as to why I was not drinking wine with my dinner. I said it was because I'd gone out with a friend last night, had too much to drink and was feeling fragile. Feel bad for lying, but I'm not ready to tell her yet. She'll just be worrying about me and then pretending she's not.

I feel absolutely shattered, I'm sure my boobs aren't hurting as much, I have a slight backache and have only peed once all afternoon so I've gone back to worrying again Sad

dream once a day? Shock how will you cope? Grin My DH is getting mighty annoyed about me being on here as well. He's even taught DS to say "not Mumsnet" in an eyeball rolling tone of voice Blush

Welcome wants you are already pg, you just need a pee stick to confirm it. When are you confirming it?

dreamfeeder · 21/08/2011 18:46

scarlet, dh in the bath and i've sneaked back on already but thats it for tonight now.... clearly i can't cope. I need to come on here for reassurance. DH is pants at reassurance "well theres absolutely nothing you can do now". Tell me sometihng helpful!!! I'm super stressed too- I have also only peed once this afternoon too and also have backache (i'm telling myself its because i've been for a walk with dh, sis + boyf and DD and it was hot) but i don't really believe it. But freakily similar to you which is reassuring in itself. Grin We both need to man up and BROOK NO ARGUMENT. Nothing is going to go wrong. DH says chances of all going well are 80%. That means you were in the 16% last 2 times, (4% for ectopic), but this time WILL be different. anyway, we're 5 weeks. I had no symptoms bar peeing here last time. And i'm weeing in night every night, including last night. We must remeber it's early days, thats why not so many symptoms. They'll arrive....
Good cover story too- my sis asked if i was pg today!! I said oh, i hope we will have another soon-ish in a nonchalent way.

for all the SWI-ers- go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

havealittlefaithbaby · 21/08/2011 18:48

I'm still lurking dream! I'm not really up to brooking though. I'm cd.. 12. Reckon I ovulated fairly early based on ewcm and ?ovulation pains. Feels weird not charting/knowing for sure!
Had some swi but fairly relaxed. No more nookie now, DH has sa on Wednesday.
I'm.amazed by all the bfps, but of course, you were all pregnant all along!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 21/08/2011 18:48

My DH has the complete opposite reaction to Mumsnet! I think he's relieved that I spend so much time on here talking to you ladies, because when I'm not on here talking to you, I'm talking to him instead about all the same things! Strangely he's not as riveted by all things conception/pregnancy/baby-related as I am!

Welcome Wants! Looking forward to your imminent BFP confirmation (now that you're on this thread you're clearly already pg!).

Golden that sounds like a great plan, gets rid of the stress and you'll still smack that rat! Good luck!

dreamfeeder · 21/08/2011 18:59

I reckon with all the brooking you've done there's room for some carryover this month have. And it is amazing how many people get pg when they give up trying. my friend (well, ex-colleague at my old job) got pg the month before she was due to have IVF on the NHS for PCOS. She put it down to 'knowing' it wasn't going to happen that month! I will brook for you. And cross everything.

MyGoldenNotebook · 21/08/2011 19:02

I know. V excited about AF finishing now. It's been an odd summer for me with DH being out of work. I'm a teacher so usually the Summer is bliss but I've been anxious and stressed. September means that DH can do supply and I'm actually looking forward to being back in the classroom. September has always been my favourite month - and Autumn is the most romantic season. I may get my DH a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils to go with his own which will obvioulsy be in producing the uber sperm this cycle Blush.

musicalmrs · 21/08/2011 19:03

If I may, I'd like to join your jammie dodger-ed ranks! I'm trying a Scream-esque SWI-marathon - every two days. Poor DH..! Keeping bottled up about ttc is making me go slightly barmy though, so lovely to outpour to fellow SWI-ers.

MyGoldenNotebook · 21/08/2011 19:06

I know I have found ttc so exciting / upsetting so far. Sometimes you feel that as you want it so much you wont be able to have it. Keep trying to feign nonchalance. It's such a relief to finally be pregnant. Phew! ;-)

BabySade · 21/08/2011 19:14

Hello Wants

Scarlet don't worry about symptoms, remember you are brooking no arguement okay? Smile

I'm glad everyone is still having agreable pee sticks.

I'm feeling very delicate as I stayed out till 5 in the morning! Normally I can just about make it to midnight on a night out. However as I'm obviously pregnant, I wanted my last big night out to be something special Grin

I'm on CD27 here, my normal cycle length is anywhere from 31-35 days, I've got an agonising week to wait before confirmation of my BFP.

Anyone else due soon?

BabySade · 21/08/2011 19:16
LateToThisBabyMalarky · 21/08/2011 19:22

Thanks Generic & Scarlet, I am holding out hope that I am pg - sorry, what am I talking about, I KNOW I'm pg but it's getting to that confirmation point that's the hard bit Smile Have decided that if I treat the erpc as as regular af then I will test at next af due-date + 1 week. And if af comes before then, well then this bit doesn't count, it was just the prep to the upcoming successful cycle. So there.

Anyway, I just had 4 large glasses of wine at a bbq this afternoon, that should do it, no? Grin

MyGoldenNotebook · 21/08/2011 19:23

I'm not due for ages BabySade (due 14/9) but have my pom poms at the ready for when you confirm the BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS.

CakePigeon · 21/08/2011 19:41

Oh musical I know what you mean about bottling it up in front of others. I came out and told my mum the other week because I couldnt hold it in. it is hard at work though when other people announce they are pregnant and want to talk about it all the time! I am just ttc number1 so I have to try hard not to sound like I know too much about ttc and pregnancy when I actually spend more time than is healthy reading about it!

Solars · 21/08/2011 20:48

Hello to all the newbies

NinjaChipmunk · 21/08/2011 21:29

Wants3 · 21/08/2011 21:56

Can't poas until at least end of the month- I haven't even bought any yet, cheap or otherwise! I feel that I should have a whole drawer full to keep up with you guys!

jaggythistle · 21/08/2011 22:53

speaking of drawers full of tests. Blush

couldn't resist brooking no argument with a different kind of test, so have just tried an Asda one. it has complied and shown a nice pink line. that was >24h without testing...

saving cbd for fmu.

then i may behave.

bloody phone!

musicalmrs · 22/08/2011 08:53

Thanks for the hi's Cake and Solars! Blueberry muffins sound divine - I have some caramel shortbread to add to the party...

Cake - I feel exactly the same. TTC #1 as well, also spending probably more time than is healthy reading up about it all! Not at work at the mo (I'm a peri teacher), which means even more time is spent obsessively reading. Oops!
