Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

Jumping Guys did give me a test but I'm not sure it was as good as a shop bought as I had to kind of squint to see the line which is why I went straight out and bought 2 more . Wishing you all the very best.

Hi lovely ladies...
Thanks to you all for thinking of me today for ET... wow what an experience - the "suite" where they performed the ET was almost space age and our embryologist was so young - and cool - I thought he might be work experience when we were met by him at the start ! All good tho and they have transfered 2 blastos that they felt were the strongest. They aren't sure if there will be any to freeze yet - but will let us know... the whole proceedure was pretty painless - like a smear test that lasts a bit longer than usual... it really helps to breath deeply and try to relax (oh so hard when your legs are up in stirpy things and there are about 3 people looking at you....) all Ok tho - everyone delightful in that space ship today!

I had an acupuncture session before and after transfer - which means i've had a hell of a lot of needles stuck in me today - but all good - feel very chilled and positive (well, it's only day 1 isn't it!!)

so, spent a nice afternoon on the sofa reading and watching TV... DH seems to be more exhausted than me and sneaked off work for the whole day in the end - and even slept for 3 hours this aftenoon - i've sent him down to the pub for a well deserved whisky before dinner!!

Jumping keeping everything crossed for you for thursday's test - that seems to have come round quickly (probably doesn't feel that to yoU!)

Pollykitten fingers crossed for you. I think the 2ww must be the worst bit. Not done IVF 2ww yet but dreading it.
They said I was at risk of ohss at my consultation. No one has mentioned it since but they keep telling me to drink lots of water. I had a scan and bloods Friday, scan Monday, scan and bloods today and back again tomorrow so they are monitoring me closely and keep changing my menopur dose. Not heard of cabergoline.

thanks treaclecat... they too said I was at risk of ohss (as I had over responsive folicles) and they took my bloods every day that I was stimming and scanned me every other day. My Gonal F started at 150, then after 3 days was reduced to 75 for 4 days then i had to coast and not take any for 2 days before taking a last shot of 112 the day before EC. I think it's great they are montoring you so closely - even tho it's a bore having to have bloods taken each day. I drank around 2-3 litres of water a day and so far - touch wood not OHSS like symptoms....

Pollykitten indeed I am on the 2ww - I'm also obsessing about everything! Am convinced my boobs are sore / uber sensitive (can't touch them!), analysing every twinge in my tummy and every emotion!

Kool, hmmm, I guess I'll just pee on one of the First Response stash I have from when we were optimistically TTC with wanton abandon!

Well, took my first stimming injection this evening - a bit more ouch than the buserelin as double the amount of liquid, but not too bad overall.

I'm amazed at how much monitoring you ladies are getting! I'm booked in for a scan next Tues and Fri and that's it :/ does this mean I could get OHSS and it wouldn't be picked up until serious enough to cause me problems? Is it normal to get more scans and blood tests? A little bit worried now...

Hi all. Great to hear it went well zeebee now we'll just watch as you quietly go insane over the TWW!
I didn't have a great scan today- seems I'm the opposite of blacktreacle and my ovaries are under responding to the drugs. Yet another increase in my nightly dose of Menopur and tomorrow they're giving me a growth hormone to add to the mix. I think I had 7 on RHS and one big one on my LHS. Disappointing as I responded pretty well back in Feb when just on 225 Gonal-F. (11 + 5, 9 fertilised, 3 good enough to transfer). This was supposed to be a higher dose treatment to get better figures. Rats. Maybe my ovaries are as exhausted by this process as the rest of me feels...
Any reassurance that ovaries can magically produce more follicles mid-cycle would be welcome!!

zeebee glad ET went well, have my fingers crossed for you.

Hopefully around 3-4 weeks until we start our second ET with our frosties!

Pink try not to worry, I seemed to have fewer follicles than I would like but had a real spurt in my final days of stimming.

Should also say Pink that it's quality, not quantity so keep positive!

Thanks jumping for the positivity. All these hormones are making me rather glum this eve. And having had two MCs from last IVF 'quality' ain't my strong point. Though Doc today told me that their trials prove that Menopur improves the quality so I'm putting my hopes on that

Morning all,

Hope all ok today and not feeling too sore/tired etc from all the injections. A wee bit of news from my end....had my great nurse consult yesterday, had everything explained and handed a big bag of needles, drugs, sharps bin etc. HOWEVER, my AMH result was really really crap lower than I was expecting, so looks like my Gonal F dose will be cranked up as and when. I start Buserelin on 22nd and am raring to go now. So want this to work, esp now my reserves don't look as lovely as I was hoping. But I guess that's why they did the test and they can adjust the meds accordingly. My rough guess is that if all goes well, I'm hoping to do a transfer third week in Nov, so fingers and toes crossed. Am starting lots of accupuncture from this week and taking it easy from then on.

They have prescribed cabergoline as I am at high risk of OHSS. A bit scared now. I think they are intending to proceed to EC but a bit worried they will want to do a freeze all and FET cycle.

blacktreaclecat you just have to have a 'word' with your ovaries and explain exactly you what you want them to do! The cabergoline is supposed to be good at its job though, in preventing the incidence of OHSS. Ironic that all the drugs we get have so many side effects that make us less able to deal with the drugs... etc.
jumping I too am an emotional wreck. Just want to hide and have been doing a lot of crying/poking boobs/worrying incessantly - come what may, test day will come...
zeebee good luck and glad you had such a good experience with transfer. I did too - classic FM was on and as the consultant put the blastocyst in, the music faded down and you could have heard a pin drop, it was emotional.

Shitting myself about testing tomorrow. So far being positive has been quite easy and there's always been a 'next stage' to focus on. Tomorrow is D-day (or should that be 'pee-day'?!) The end of this line, so to speak as we find out if it's all worked. [Almost don't want to do it emoticon]. Wimping again, sorry!

oh jumping bestest bestest luck for tomorrow. The most important pee of your life! Let us know how you get on.
