Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

Hi all,

Hope your EC went well Zeebee and that you are feeling ok?

Still no sign of AF and I am supposed to have a baseline scan on Monday, bit worried. Does this mean I should ring up and reorganise the scan? Will it be ok if I have only just started AF? :/

zeebee1 · 06/10/2011 17:10

Hi all and thanks for your lovely wishes everyone.
Well I am back and feeling fine - a bit of a tummy ache but ok otherwise.
Grin they got 19eggs from me which we are ao pleased about. So we wait and see what happens tonight. Came back from hospital and slept for another 2 hours - it's amazing how the sedative really works! Wow!

Zeebee thats fantastic news. Lots of waggle dancing, champers, canapes music and glitter ball to get the little swimmers and eggs in the best positive vibe and mood. Good luck for good ongoing news

pumpkinjoy · 07/10/2011 08:57

Zeebee fantastic re those lovely eggs-am sure they've been getting jiggy with Mr Zee overnight and I hope you get that phone call shortly and that it's great news.

Teds77 · 07/10/2011 10:51

Wow zeebee 19 eggs! Respect!

jumping hope you're doing okay on the mentalling....

Sorry not to have caught up with all the newbies but just posting as a bit worried about GP - sending you (((hugs))) that all is okay xxx

HoHoLaughingMonster · 07/10/2011 12:01

19 eggs Shock Good work Zeebee's ovaries! Congratulations!

Cloclo my period was late on downregs too. I hope yours turns up this weekend.

Sorry about your delay bugsylugs that must be so frustrating for you :( Hope the antibiotics do their thing and you can start treatment soon.

jumping I know what you mean about it d r a g g i n g.

Anyway I pretty sure it hasn't worked for me. I'm feeling very premenstrual and am pretty sure my period is about to start any time now :( Spent last evening crying my eyes out and am too upset to go into work today (they're not going to be impressed). Ahhh feck it. Back to the drawing board!

zeebee1 · 07/10/2011 12:31

ho Ho don't be down - sending you Thanks and Brew to cheer you up - i was just reading my Zita book and she says that those period feelings and cramps are quite normal to feel and it still means you have a really good chance of being PG.. don't be disheartened... anyway as you are off work - I hope you are indulging yourself with TV and chocolates... thinking of you...

teds, bugsy, clo, Ho Ho and pumpkin thanks so much for your lovely comments - we are amazed that there were so many up there. all your wishing of a lurrrrve filled night clearly worked as the embryologist called me this morning to say 17 have fertilised! Shock

So now just waiting to hear if we do ET on SUnday or Tuesday... They split our eggs and did half IVF and half ICSI. I have been very impressed with Guys all the way through... just fingers crossed once we have ET that the little zeebeettes are happy and remain where they are supposed to Blush

This process is just fraught with stage after stage of fretting isn't it!
jumping how are you doing - I know exactly how you feel with people asking you about it all the time - being supportive, but also a little needy of me telling them exactly how I am doing! People so want it to work don't they - I guess they are just being thoughtful Wink...

anyway have good Fridays everyone and Brew all round!
ZB

Pinkforboys · 07/10/2011 13:58

Wow ZeeBee those are fantastic figures. Serious respect! Good luck for the transfer next week.
Hoho don't give up just yet- it is some horrid irony that you do feel pre-menstrual before a BFP too, I guess it's all the hormones in turmoil. Remember, it ain't over 'til the fat lady pees (or something like that).

We had our first stabbing session last night. I'm on a mix of Gonal-F and Menopur so it's one in each thigh. How fun. I'd forgotten how much it stings, but if I can get figures like zb it would all be worth it!

Oh- re: avoiding biscuits (which I failed to do) a friend who had multiple mc's was recommended a diabetic's diet which she did, avoiding biscuits, cakes etc, and she is now Mum of one. There seems to be a link between PCOS and diabetes, so it's always my ambition to cut down if not give up.

Happy Friday to you all.

zeebee1 · 07/10/2011 16:25

Thanks so much pink glad my tale is inspiring you thru all that injecting- delightful! I am 39 too so happy that they actually found some eggs in me!

Re biscuits and yummy cake - I had advice from my accupuncture lady that it's better for you to avoid sugary things and try and eat a lot of beans and lentils in your diet. If you have to have choc (and believe me I do!!) then a square or two of 70% dark is ok- ish. She also suggested making low fat banana bread and flap jacks to have round the house so the craving for sweet cakes etc would be lessened. Trying to do this. V hard!
Fruit like berries is excellent too and lts of protein - fish and chicken v good!

Zb

MrsMigginslovespies · 07/10/2011 16:54

Thought I'd pop on and say great news Zeebee, am v impressed with all your eggies! And 17 fertilised is fab news! Also interesting diet news too re cakes etc, as am frantically trying to be healthy at the moment, so good tips there (plus love dark chocolate).

Hoho, I'd also heard that the first signs of being preggers are very similiar to a period, which is why some women don't even realise they are pregnant (even down to an implantation bleed at the same time which looks like a period. Our bodies don't make it easy sometimes!). In the words of Dad's Army, Don't Panic! Have fingers and toes crossed for you in any case.

In case you do go in on Sunday Zeebee, all the very best for it! Super-exciting for you!

Happy weekends all, may they be as sunny and nice as it is up in Scotland (for once) at your ends too.

x

Pollykitten · 07/10/2011 17:10

Bongiorno ladies,
I'm new to both mumsnet and to IVF/ICSI. I've just been through all the IVF stuff whilst working really long days (up at 4.30 am, back at 8 pm) and felt as mad as a squirrel in a bin. I have my blastocyst transfer tomorrow. Am I allowed to say wish me luck?! My DP had an unsuccessful VR hence the science attack. Aren't the pessaries just the worst?!

Pollykitten · 07/10/2011 17:54

Also if anyone would like to hear my story, would be v glad /grateful to share it

Cloclo15 · 07/10/2011 18:36

Hi all,

zeebee, congrats on your excellent fertilisation rate, that's great news!

I have started spotting today but not proper AF, really hope I start over the weekend or I might have to be on these downregs for another week :( trouble is I normally spot for 2-3 days before AF starts normally...

pollykitten welcome, and good luck with your transfer :) please do share your story. I am 29 but had only been trying 6 months when we found out DH had very low sperm count/motility/morphology so we were told ICSI was for us. Depending on AF/scan on Monday morning I may be starting stimms next week. Fingerscrossed!

Pollykitten · 08/10/2011 07:27

Good day all, today's the- day for blastocyst transfer! Feel most strange. DP is away (unavoidably) so just here with the kitten and dogs, who don't seem to have grasped the importance of today... Had EC on Monday, they got 18, 15 of which were mature enough to use and of those, 11 fertilised - I like to think I have a little football team.... so hoping for a David Beckham today (tortures analogy). It looks like a normal Saturday today, but it isn't. So I guess from today it's TWW for me! I've never been pregnant, been a full time stepmother for 10 years but then my husband 'changed his mind' about children of our own Sad and to cut a long story short, we split up and I am now very lucky to be with someone who thinks having kids with me would be like winning the lottery. The catch? Vasectomy 10 years ago... had it reversed, it didn't work and so......here I am. I consider myself to extremely lucky to have options, but FFS life's complicated. So in about 4 hours time, life will all be different. Good luck to everyone on here - apologies if I haven't got the old etiquette inpenetrable code locked down yet, I'm working on it!

Pollykitten · 08/10/2011 07:28

Cloclo15, many thanks for the welcome, it means a lot

Cloclo15 · 08/10/2011 08:54

Very good luck to you pollykitten, sounds like they have plenty to choose from so I hope they pick a goodun. I hope you are taking someone with you to hold your hand during ET?

Louiseteacher30 · 08/10/2011 09:57

GP hope you are ok? xxx

zeebee1 · 08/10/2011 10:09

Polly lots of luck for today. Hope it painless and you feel like a different person afterwards - I'm sure I will when I have my ET tomorrow or Tuesday!
I too have never been PG- hoping that this will all work and that my DH and I get to be parents in the end!
Anyway - please let us know how it goes!

Pinkforboys · 08/10/2011 10:44

Good luck today Pollykitten and to Zeebee tomorrow. You can officially enjoy being PUPO for the first time, smugly smiling that you've got a blasto on board.
Hoho I hope you're not going too insane. The last few days of being PUPO as I remember are the worst. The hope, the fear and the not knowing make them feel like the longest hours in the world. If you can find things to fill your diary with to take your mind off it all the better. Though nothing too strenuous obviously!
Personally I take the optimistic-pessimist approach and convince myself it hasn't worked so that I won't be too disappointed by a BFN but will be over the moon at BFP. Not exactly the positive thinking that's encouraged, but helps me stay sane Grin
Happy weekends to all x

zeebee1 · 08/10/2011 17:29

Omg is anyone else having horrid pessary pain in their behind - sorry if TMI !
Blush - how do you get through it? Worse side effect yet.
Hummmm

Cloclo15 · 08/10/2011 19:10

Yay - never been so happy to see AF turn up as I was this morning - even though it's going to make for a very pleasant scan on Monday morning, hopefully it will mean I can start the stimms on Tues :)

Hope everything went well at ET today pollykitten?

bugsylugs · 08/10/2011 20:22

Cloclo great new re AF odd that we get to the stage that we want it.
Zeebee are you using pessaries as in in agina or in bum? can do either I found in vag ok but glooped evrywhere sorry tmi. bum tried one not for me but I did not have any pain hope it settles. Good luck for tomorrow/ Tues
Pollykitten welcome great results hope it all went well today how many are they transferring. Have you got lots of time relaxing and not so crazy hours well done you for managing it.

GP how are thigns I hope going well?

HoHO hope things are ok. When I went in 2008 for consultation with cons he asked when LMP was I said I was due on and had period pains so would start in next 2 days 'that period' was DS. also same with my recent BFP I had no other signs just my usual monthly ones so keep hope. Of course you will be like PMT it is so stressful

Happy weekends all

koolforcats · 08/10/2011 20:23

Hi to all, quick message, hope everyone is ok.

Zeebee just wanted to say, there's no delicate way of asking, but are you putting them in the front or back? Blush I think either works but I was told to put them in the front and didn't have any problems really. Good luck! Grin

koolforcats · 08/10/2011 20:25

HILARIOUS! Bugsy that was sooo funny, we crossed posts, I was trying to be so delicate and I loved how you said exactly what I'd wanted to!!! Wink

zeebee1 · 08/10/2011 20:44

Hi ladies - it's the front Blush - so will spk to the hosp tomorrow.

Thanks for your comments and glad no one else was in such achey pains
