Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

Caramel O.....M......G!!!!! That's totally amazeballs!!!! I'm so glad you did another test, thank goodness. Does that make your due date 3rd April?

I know it's weird to test at home but that's the way lots/most clinics do it. Mine gave me my test to take home when I had ET and I was just told to call them with the result, so I that's generally how it's done. It's odd though as I've been so used to being at the clinic really regularly but now I won't be going until my scan so I guess until then I've just got to hope everything is ok and stop doing daily pregnancy tests

Owl I'd definitely not test early. I tested 2 days after Caramel and even then my line was really faint (I did another one the next day and it had already got darker). I know the waiting is incredibly hard but it's not worth putting yourself through any extra worry. I was told to do my test 16 dp EC (like you and Caramel I had blasto transfer).

Someone on the previous page (sorry don't want to go back in case this message gets gobbled up), maybe Louise said they wouldn't test until their period was due but I think that could be tricky too as I think that the progesterone suppositories can delay your period anyway. I'd say in general, it's fine to test at home, I guess the clinics wouldn't give you the test otherwise, just don't do it early.

Gardenpixie · 31/07/2011 21:06

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek caramel that is amazing news! I am so very pleased for you lovely lady!

Sorry, have to dash as about to go out but couldn't lurk and run without a huge group hug to celebrate mini caramel making his or her presence known.

And I am hoping that as I type, the champagne and canapés are being served to Lou's eggs and Mr Lou's swimmers to get them in the mood: come on littlelous

Waves to everyone, will be back properly tomorrow xxxxx gp

WOW!!! Amazing, am absolutely ecstatic for you Caramel, my eyes are full of water, that has so made my day Grin Grin. You poor sweetie, you must have been all over the place...take it easy now and let that little Caramelbite snuggle down for a cosy 8 months xx

Now after all that excitement I must pull myself together and take in the luxurious new surroundings that Garden has kindly kitted out for us - loving the decor and Kool mind if I squash up next to you and your little Kitten on that rather comfy looking sofa?

Sorry but haven't managed to read up on the last of the old thread, was my intention but came to check out the new gaff, 28 posts already today...eh, somethings going on and damn right it was - long may it continue with BFP's all round!

Welcome Louise, glad EC went well and great news on 10 little eggies. Waggle dancing a go-go for their night of romance with MrLou's little men.

Hang in there Owl, try and busy yourself and get through, I know that is easier said than done. Our lovely little thread is on a run Smile

Luck, hope the scan goes well tomorrow and you're on for EC this week. Grow follies grow Grin.

Womanly, great news on insem last week, we're all here for hand holding through the 2ww with you.

Glad you found us Blacktreaclecat and Sbarrett, we have an amazing group of people on here, who are so helpful, thoughtful, supportive to all of us as we make our journey's through the ivf minefield. I have found it so helpful.

A plea to all our PG ladies - please stay with us, you're our inspiration and would love to continue your journey's with you, learning more useful info for when we all join the club Grin. Brew and Biscuit for you all xx

AFM - working my butt off which is occupying my mind. I'm still a week away from down reg scan, just hope its working, as have to say I'm lucky enough not to be getting any side effects Shock, as I was a complete nutter on clomid. AF hasn't shown up yet though, day 31. Did anyone else not get AF whilst d'regging? I'm not sure if its a probelm or not?

Right, thats enough from me tonight. Lots of luck to everyone this week for all the jabbing, scanning, testing thats going on.

xx

Teds77 · 31/07/2011 22:41

Ooo caramel that's such lovely news! So pleased after all the initial heartache you must have had with the bfn. Here's a lovely glass of Wine that you'll have to wait eight months to drink Grin

luck so glad to hear that the follies are growing well. Hope tomorrow's scan goes well and it's all go for EC.

ellan and Bodeccia hoping your stims going okay too. Are either of you due a scan soon? I've lost track of how far along everybody is.

louise fab news on the eggies! I'm a little behind with stuff but did I read you were having your treatment in the Czech Republic?

Bondi can't believe that you are already 10 weeks. Awesome.

Womanly and Owl am doing lots of waggle dancing for you both and hope the next week or so passes quickly xxx.

skitoo apart from being quite irritable and maybe a bit tired I think I'm pretty side-effect-free. How long is your usual cycle? I was a couple of days late but have a 27 day cycle. Another TMI ALERT but rather oddly, I still seem to be bleeding - not very much but enough to make my wee slightly pink.. sorry everyone Blush not sure if this is usual or not.

Welcome to blacktreacle - glad that we have another one for the journey.

GP loving what you've done with the place Hope AF turns up at a good time to fit with work commitments x.

Gardenpixie · 01/08/2011 09:15

Morning lovelies,

Lou I am keeping my fingers crossed that as I type you are getting good news from the clinic about the littlelous ! Do keep us posted xxx

Bondi lovely to hear from you - 10 weeks! Eeeek that is so exciting! Please pop in when you can as it's lovely to hear how you're doing Smile

Newly updiffed ladies I do hope you are doing well today and that Kitten and Caramelbite are not making you feeling morning queasiness.

Owl I do hope you're next to join the updiff club with a little snuggly Owlet . How is your sanity doing? What can we do to distract you? Shall we gather up pointless but time consuming magazine quizzes for you? Or bombard you with odd facts to keep your mind off weeing on things...? Grin

Ellan our clinic says to test 16 days after EC regardless of when ET happens - but that would still have been too early to pick up Caramel 's LO wouldn't it? I get terribly Confused about such things ...

Luck I am waggling for your scan today. Do keep us posted! I hope everything is on track and that you have lots of follicles growing nicely Smile

Blacktreaclecat welcome! I don't think I can add to what the other ladies have said about tests but I hope the info has helped. Lovely to have you with us so please do let us know how you're doing - and here, have a welcome Brew while you settle in

Womanly yay for insemination on Friday - how exciting! Obvs lots of waggles for your 2ww. I know you are trying to step away from MN for a bit at the moment but please pop back if you want any distraction Grin

Danny hello how are you? Lovely to see you!

Skitoo I didn't have AF before my down reg scan so had to keep going for a few days after the scan until she showed up. Don't worry though as if it doesn't show, they can give you something to bring it on. Hope you're doing well and that the DRs are treating you kindly Smile

Teds thank you for noticing the carefully chosen reading chair ... here, let me bring over a tray of croissants with a nice coffee and a freshly ironed newspaper for you. Don't tell the DHs about the antique coffee table though as I've had to hide the receipt Wink

Hello to everyone I've missed, hope your weeks are all off to a good start.

Not much news from me - still waiting for AF and trying to get as much work done as poss before she turns up. Loving the sun!

Hope everyone is well - big waves and waggles all round xxx

Hi ladies

Hope you're all well today.

skitoo I was a clomid nutter but found the ivf drugs much easier goinG. I hope that it continues like this for you!

gp thanks for the kind offer to keep me distracted. I've got a crazy morning of housework lined up! I was going to take dd swimming this afternoon but have just read that swimming is not recommended for 2/3 weeks after EC. 3 more sleeps to go!

dietcokeandwine · 01/08/2011 09:56

Good morning ladies, would you mind if I joined you?

Have been going through a second IVF cycle and have had a blastocyst transfer this morning, so here begins the 2ww for me! Have been feeling fairly ropey since EC as I developed mild OHSS so am on cabergoline plus instructions to drinks lots of fluid. Hoping that a day of chilling out will help. Am due to test 12 August.

Good luck to everyone and congratulations to those who have recently got their BFP Smile

Louiseteacher30 · 01/08/2011 10:28

Hello ladies!
Had a nightmare with phone this morning and couldn't get on to internet, on hotel crappy wifi at the minute and it keeps crashing grrrr

Had a phonecall from the clinic at 8am this morning, 8 good embryos developed overnight!!! All the waggle dancing, baby dust, disco ball and champagne thoughts worked!! Thank you all for keeping me so positive, you are such a wonderful group of ladies! Xxx

We were asked to choose from three or five day transfer and went for 5 day blasts, ET is 11am on Fri, wahoo!

Hope everyone is well, sending lovely positive thoughts to everyone

Louise xxxx

Louiseteacher30 · 01/08/2011 10:44

Internet about to crash, will come on line this evening with a lovely cup of decaf and read all today's posts properly

Gardenpixie · 01/08/2011 11:21

Owl I hope the housework is keeping you busy!

Dietcoke welcome and congrats on the ET Smile , here's hoping you have a speedy 2ww followed by some good news! Where are you having treatment?

Louise that is excellent news, I am so happy! Well done your littlelous and it's great that you'll have so many from which to choose for ET

Right, must stop faffing and get back to some work

xxx Grin

Hello Dietcoke and welcome - there's certainly room in our lovely new lounge for you to chill out during 2ww. Great news on ET and hope you feel better soon. Put your feet up and grab one of those croissants GP brought in earlier Smile.

Fab news on your little embies Louise, roll on Friday!

How you doing today Owl, my fellow clomid nutter Grin? And someone else who likes to count 'sleeps', hope they pass quickly for you.

Teds sorry to hear you're having strangeness with AF, sorry I don't know if normal or not. As you can tell I'm no expert with AF, I have absolutely no idea if I'll get one or not and if not then what they'll do? No usual cycles, have been absent or on clomid 15-37 days Confused. That was why I was put on the pill for a month to get a withdrawal bleed before starting dr. Might give the clinic a call in a day or so if it doesn't show up, to see what they say.

So Garden, looks like you and I got some serious AF waggle dancing to do. How about we head out in to the garden, put on some good summer tunes and shake our booties?!

Waves to everyone else.

luckbealady · 01/08/2011 15:19

Louise I've got an image of one of Mr Lou's swimmers sidling up to your eggs saying 'how you doin?' in a Joey-from-Friends stylee!

Scan was OK this morning, but they can't find one of my ovaries! Must have fallen out or something...anyway I'm off to Leeds tomorrow pm for another scan where they have brighter, shinier equipment, to see if they can find it. If it's in an awkward place then they might have to go in abdominally rather than internally, but hey, I'll be knocked out so I won't care.

Oh yes, and EC is almost definitely Thurs, just depends what Leeds docs say Smile

Hope our BFP ladies are on good form - I bet you're still grinning from ear to ear, n'est ce pas? Grin

Hi all
Loving the news about Caramel and Kool - really positive and great! Congratulations.
DH and I got back from a nice week in the sun in Italy (with the in-laws!) and have received 2 letters from Guys - an invite to their IVF evening and our first appointment on 5th Sept with a doctor (day after my 39th birthday) to start I guess the IVF process... feels like huge milestones coming up. We haven't yet told our families that we have decided to take the IVF route as we thought they would worry for us or do too much Googling (!)
Anyway - that's all from me for now - jsut wanted to check in - it's taken me 1.5 hrs to read all the posts from the last 2 weeks - all great!

Hello everyone

Had another blood test today and all looking good - I have my first scan next Thurs, I can't believe it! Lister scans at just over 6 weeks which is nice. Then I get to tell my GP and hopefully will get to choose Kingston for the next 8 months of fun!

Loads going on at the moment, its hard to keep up, some really positive stuff which is great, so forgive me if i miss anyone out, not intentional I promise!

Louise great news on 8 embryos, thats fantastic and keeping everything crossed for ET on Friday.

Zeebee great news on all your appointments - must be a huge relief to have some dates in so you can get going with it all

Luck sorry to hear about the nasty prodding but I'm sure the shiny new machine will find your other ovary!

Garden and skitoo I hope your AF arrives soon (not often to hear that phrase these days!)

Owl and Womanly hang on in there for your 2ww, it is torture but you will get through it I promise. And don't be tempted to test early!!! Watch loads of trashy films, that'll take your mind off it!

Welcome dietcokeandwine and good luck with your 2ww too!

Loving all your descriptions about the new home and thanks for all your kind supportive happy messages!

Speak to you soon

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 02/08/2011 09:32

So despite everyone's advice I caved in a tested early this morning (I have a long history of pregnancy test indiscipline).

I have a really faint line so fingers crossed, no celebrating unless it's darker on Thursday. I actually feel ashamed about testing before otd and am now thinking that when it goes wrong I'll only have myself to blame. This process has just taken so much out of me. From clomid nutter to ivf lunatic...

dietcokeandwine · 02/08/2011 09:54

Thank you for the welcome girls Smile Good to hear some good BFP stories! I hope ET goes well for you on Friday Louise

Owl - will whisper a congratulations - it's so hard not to cave in on the poas front (says someone with a similar history of pregnancy test indiscipline!) Fingers crossed you get a nice dark line on Thursday.

Gardenpixie (love your username btw) - I am having treatment at the nuffield - we were lucky enough to be successful with them last time and just hoping we get lucky again..

Hello to everyone else

womanlytales · 02/08/2011 11:20

good news owl - big hug :) best of luck to all those going through the different stages of this.

ellangirl · 02/08/2011 12:56

Fingers crossed for you owl- go for the hat trick! Still so made up for you caramel- great to get an early scan too. Do they look for a heartbeat at 6 weeks?
I'm having a major wobble today- think it's just hitting me how much money it's costing. If it doesn't work it's just money down the drain that we don't have. I feel very responsible for the success of it all of a sudden Sad

Teds77 · 02/08/2011 14:01

Naughty owl for testing early but am also whispering congratulations at your exciting news!

Update from me is that despite a minor meltdown I have just managed to do my first stims injection! Very proud. Dose has been upped to 450ml of Gonal F Shock not sure what's going to happen but keep feeling like my poor wrinkly ovaries are screaming this song at me.... Blush

ellan I will hold your hand, squeeze it gently, and say it's alright, we're doing the right thing and we're doing it for the best of reasons. I'm sure everybody on here has wasted money on things we shouldn't have but this definitely isn't one of those things, it really isn't xxxx. In return, would you squeeze my hand to when I do my next injection?

luck am hoping that Leeds found your AWOL ovary and am very excited that EC is set for Thurs! Fabulous news and I have fingers, toes and wrinkly ovaries crossed for you.

skitoo I think ringing the clinic might be an idea if AF is still missing, though when is your scan? Sounds like they might just do something at that point to sort you out if AF hasn't arrived? When it's cooled down a little bit I will be doing my best waggle dancing for you and GP. Though strictly non-alcoholic Grin

louise lovely news on your 8 embies and best of luck for Friday.

zeebee am very jealous of the Italian sunshine and fab news that you'll be all ready to go shortly.

Welcome to Dietcoke, am joining the others in wishing away your 2ww.

kool and caramel hope that you and kitten and bite are doing okay. kool will you be getting a 6 week scan at Guys/what's next?

bugsylugs · 02/08/2011 15:57

thanks GP.
Have not been able to catch end of last thread, how do I find it.
congratulations 'kool' am only on sunday will read and post later

bugsylugs · 02/08/2011 15:58

Oh congratulations 'owl' as it has posted my message at the end I can see 'teds' message

luckbealady · 02/08/2011 17:41

oooh garden I'm loving the feature wall in here - is that Colefax & Fowler wallpaper? Nice. Smile

Louise excellent news re: your 8 embryos, hello little Loulets! Good luck on Friday!

owl I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your faint line grows darker every day - try and stay positive (ha! easy to say I know) and look at caramel's experience...keep the faith.

ellan I'm sorry you're feeling blue, I bet you?re doing all you can to make it work. You?ve got the added stress of travel too. I?m getting nervous too ? feel that I should have lost weight, got fit, eaten only salad for 40 days and 40 nights, worn horsehair pants etc but at the end of the day it?s down to Mother Nature, and whether our wombs are a welcoming place. It?s TOTALLY worth it, just hang on in there. I?ll report back on Leeds after the next few days, maybe that will help a tiny bit?

Teds yay you with your injection! Love the K of L song ? I like to think my ovaries have suddenly become cougars with all this oestrogen and are now on the prowl?miaow!

Talking of which, yes, they found my feral ovary, snapping and growling in a dark corner, and all looks good, so it?s EC on Thurs as planned YAY Grin. I am so ready for it! Is it weird to be this excited about a procedure involving people rummaging in my innards? I bought some new slippers specially - tragic.

Welcome to dietcoke, blacktreaclecat and sbarrett, lovely to have you with us Smile. Do help yourself to a Biscuit and Brew and settle down for the ride.

pip pip y'all
