Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

afternoon girls. Best of luck with the test tomorrow luck and with the scan nocake. And hello to everyone!

Cloclo15 · 17/08/2011 15:19

Well, just got out of appt - we def won't be starting this month and doubt we will be starting next cycle at this rate :/ DH needs to get a sample frozen and until that is done, I can't be given the drugs/injection instructions I need, so I have to wait until he gets an appt and his sample is frozen for me to book that. So I've signed all the consent forms, I know exactly how it's all going to work, and now I just have to wait again :( it's so frustrating, isn't it?

Sorry for the moaning - I think I'm feeling a bit self centred today!

frustratedchick · 17/08/2011 15:28

cloclo I am so sorry about this. I know how disappointing this is as something similar happened to me too recently. (I have more or less 50 days to wait between now and the first sniff) What is it that is going to delay you by 2 cycles though? Is it the waiting time for appointments? When does your next cycle start?

skitoo · 17/08/2011 15:30

Hello Ladies - work has finally calmed down today so am going to attempt to catch up on all thats been going on. I've been sneaking peeks at the thread whilst in meetings and am so sorry that the rollercoaster has been a bit wild in the last couple of days for some.

Nocake, I hope that you have been looked after this morning and that ET can go ahead. I've got everything crossed for you and am giving it a great big waggle dance in the office .

Ellan, how are you? Hope that you're feeling better, as the others have said make sure you drink loads of water and, sorry going to sound like a nagging mum but eat well too. You've put your dear little body through a lot so need to make sure you give it lots of fuel! I love Leeds, its a cool place but sounds like you're not really up for the big shopping or party scene. Bar & Grill in City Square does some tasty food if you do fancy nipping out for a bite. Take care of yourself there xx.

Teds, your post was so sweet, fab news on your 2 little superteds. Big waggles for them, hope tomorrow goes well and they get nice and snuggly.

Garden, you do have impressive ovaries don't you! How they doing today? Am sticking with the stern stares to keep them in check Grin. Its lovely to hear that you're feeling ok this time round as it was so grim for you before. Have to say that I've felt absolutely fine during dr and its only the last day on stims that I've felt a bit naff. I was prepared for the worst after the complete mess I was on clomid.

Gald to hear the spotting has stopped Womanly and hoorah for a scan just 2 weeks today. Sorry I don't know about the screening, did you manage to speak to the guys at your clinic?

Hey Louise, sorry you're feeling rubbish - try ginger biscuits for the nausea and they're so yummy Grin.

Am mighty impressed with your willpower Luck, everything crossed for you for tomorrow.

A big wave to all our pg ladies, trust you are all taking it easy with your little beans on board.

Hello to everyone else I've not name checked.

Quick update for me - had 1st stim scan this morning and have 5 decent sized follies on each, 6 between 12mm and 17mm and few others at 8-9mm. Guess I was hoping for more but clinic said that was good for day 8. I've to stay on the same dose of Menopur and another scan on Friday with EC probably Monday or Tuesday. I'm already feeling pretty bloated but plan to feed myself up on copious amounts of protein in the next couple of days and spend as much time as poss with my hot water bottle in an attempt to fatten them up and maybe sprout a couple more.

skitoo · 17/08/2011 16:03

Sorry Cloclo x-posts. The whole process is a horrible waiting game, sorry you've had another delay dealt today. At least you've got all the paperwork done and all I can suggest is that you get on the case and chase his appointment, maybe suggest you could make a cancellation if they have any? Maybe then you can hit the next cycle. Fingers crossed for you.

Cloclo15 · 17/08/2011 16:49

Thanks skitoo and fru - basically they will phone DH on Monday to set up an appt to take his sample. Once we know that has frozen ok, I can book in another appt with the nurses to go through how to do my injections. Then I am allowed to phone on my first Day 1 after that to arrange to start on Day 21 of that cycle. My next Day 1 will be about the 7th Sept, and if we haven't managed to have the nurses appt by then, I will have to wait until the next Day 1 at the start of October. So it is all down to the speed at which we can get appts booked in. I am so frustrated, it feels like today was a total waste of time now :(

Teds77 · 17/08/2011 17:00

skitoo your scan sounds really good so don't worry! Somewhere in the middle with not too many and not too few follicles is perfect.

Cloclo sorry to hear your news. Which clinic are you at? As skitoo says cancellations do come up - I managed to get one and it probably saved me a month. Stay hopeful xx.

jumpingjackhash · 17/08/2011 17:50

Hey there ladies, a quick check-in and catch-up on what is possibly the fastest moving thread on here!

Luck, great news about the house move, nothing like a move to give you a MAJOR distraction! Grin Hope the test goes well.

Teds good luck for tomorrow!

Bodeccia, 2 embies! Wow! Shaking away for you here, hope the little things cling in there and do the bizzo!

Hope you're out of the hotel soon ellan and back with your family and a couple of little additions.

Cloclo, sorry for you. Are you on an NHS waiting list/what waiting time have they given you? I'd keep calling and seeing if you can get a quick appointment through a cancellation. In the meantime, keep smiling, although I know how you feel, as we had a number of frustrating hold ups. It's tough when it's taken you so long to get to this stage, but just keep your eye on the prize, it will be worth it in the end. (((hug)))

luckbealady · 17/08/2011 18:07

In my efforts not to test I am shopping online for the new house. Don't tell DH, but I've just bought some solar powered fairy lights for the garden...d'oh! Only for Christmas...and the occasional party...and, well, just because they're sooo pretty...Smile

cloclo sorry it's taking so long, it's crap for you. It's probably no consolation, but when it finally does start happening, it's super-speedy. Fingers crossed you get a cancellation.

skitoo, your follies sound like they're doing the business, and if the clinic hasn't changed your menopur dose then they must be happy with you. I shall send follie-swelling vibes your way!

Right, am off to cook DH a lovely steak supper, to distract him from random fairy lights...oh, and some bedidng from the White Company sale...Wink

Pip pip! Will be back to Tell All tomorrow....YIKES FECK and stronger Anglo-Saxon words.

xx

Gardenpixie · 17/08/2011 18:18

Hi ladies

Ellan how are you feeling today? Glad the scan was OK, and I hope you are feeling better. Take care of yourself xxx

Teds so exciting about your Tedlets ! I will be waggling for you tomorrow (and I'll keep going until Saturday if you go for the day five transfer!) Grin

NoCake how are you doing today? I hope you are feeling OK

Jumping I am not sure how usual it is to mix your own meds ... I didn't last time round because I was injecting Gonal-F and sniffing down regs but this time round, i'm still injecting the Gonal-F but also mixing and injecting Cetrotide Confused eeeek!

Luck that's so funny about your DH injecting a cow! How did that happen...? I am waggling like a mad pixie for you tomorrow and I, too, am in awe of your restraint so far Grin

Bodeccia I am sending snuggly vibes to your small but perfectly formed bodecciettes and I'm sure they are settling in nicely Grin

Womanly I am so pleased everything is going well for you lovely and that the spotting has stopped. I am a bit Confused about the cervical smear thing, as the others have said, I thought the advice was not to have one when pg because the hormone changes mean your cervix will be doing all kind of new and interesting things that will confuse a smear test ... but am not a Dr so I could well be wrong! xxx

louise you poor thing! I hope the sickness subsides soon. I'm sure your little lou(s) doesn't / don't mean to make you feel grotty, they are just snuggling in tightly, not much help when you are feeling green though Smile

Cloclo I am so sorry to hear about all the delays. How frustrating for you. As the others have said, one of the cruel things about all of this is the unexpected delays and waits. Am sending lots of hugs and thinking of ways to distract you until you get your appt. It seems daft to wait so long for the nurses appt though - keep calling up for the cancellations! Which clinic are you with?

Skitoobuddy hello! Your scan sounds good - plenty of nice big follies to make babies out of Grin . I have my next scan on Friday and will prob be ready for EC on Monday or Tues too so we can waggle for each other just before they knock us out! It might freak the Drs out a bit but I'm up for it!

I had my second scan today and I have 30 follicles overall although most of them are still quite small. Fortunately, and unlike last time, they don't seem to be holding the others back ... I have one follicle at 18mm and 10 around 16mm. So I am going back for a scan on Fri with possible EC on Monday or Tuesday! It is SUCH a relief to see the little things growing this time after last time where I had scan after scan after scan with nothing happening [relieved emoticon]

Anyway lovelies, I hope you are all well; I'm off to walk my hound

xxxxx GP

Cloclo15 · 17/08/2011 19:01

Thanks everyone for being so lovely - I feel as if I'm behaving like a brat about a bit of waiting - it isn't like I'm not used to it by now! We are at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine in Coventry. To be fair, we managed to get a nurses appt booked in within a week last time so there is still a chance - it all depends on how quickly we can get the frozen sperm sample sorted, and we can't make an appt for that till Monday, so just feel a bit in limbo till that is sorted.

Fingers crossed for the very restrained luck - I think I need to take a lesson in patience from you.

Skitoo, the scan sounds very promising :)

pumpkinjoy · 17/08/2011 21:58

Just popped in to say good luck to Luck tomorrow-you really are a fine example of restraint! Will do a waggle before bed.

Way to go Garden sounds like its good news so far for you-am really pleased.

Love to everyone else xxx

bugsylugs · 17/08/2011 22:50

garden thats great news i am so glad your ovaries are behaving at the moment
luck thinking of you hope you have a [eaceful sleep and good luck for tomorrow
cloclo I know just how you are feeling it is so frustrating to have delays our first one was they did not write the letter with the protocol in time 3 weeks!! then DH being poorly putting it back. But nature as done her little thing so am keeping everything crossed that it will be good news all the way. Try and take it as extra time to do special things before the real stress starts. ((())))
womanly so pleased the spotting has stopped, smears are problematical during pregnancy and for 3 months after they are much harder to interpret and less acurate. Your gp could always do serial blood HCG 48hrs apart .

To everyone else sooryto not mention by name but I think of you all often and am really inspired. Am shattered so need to go to sleep. As per thread rles have a hol coming up Sat cannot wait but need to pack

Higs and sweat dreams

Bodeccia · 18/08/2011 08:38

Any news, luck? I have my fingers and toes crossed!

ellangirl · 18/08/2011 09:38

morning lovely ladies- luck I am willing it to be good news for you!
bugsy loving the 'higs and sweat dreams' hee hee!
cloclo being patient is definitely not my strong point either, so I sympathise!
garden I am a bit better thanks- not quite so pregnant looking! So pleased about your follicle growing- sounds like a bumper crop Grin
skitoo thanks for the tip. Am not really a city person at the best of times, so Leeds is a bit wasted on me I have to admit. Would be different if I was feeling great I'm sure. Your scan sounds V promising. I had 10-12 follicles going forward to EC but got 15 eggs, so a few more must have caught up in the last few days!
teds are you still on for today? nocake any news?
louise it's so worth it, but I know how rotten it feels!

My news is that my embies will be going to day 5, so transfer on Sat as there are 6 top graded ones and another not far behind. Miss my DS and Mr Ellan like crazy, but got to keep everything crossed that it will all be worth it...

Bodeccia · 18/08/2011 09:55

What fab news ellan, I have serious envy at your top graded embies :) Good luck with the ET, and I'm glad you're swelling has gone down.

ellangirl · 18/08/2011 10:00

Thanks bodeccia, don't be envious though. This whole thing is such a lottery, there are no guarantees for anyone! Am feeling very attached to my embryos today- like I haven't got any right to be playing the odds with them. Would have them all back just to keep them safe!

nocakeformeplease · 18/08/2011 10:12

Well, I am over the moon to say that, a day later than planned, but I am officially PUPO or whatever they call it! The day after EC I woke with quite a lot of pain that got progressively worse as they day went on. I was in absolute agony by the evening and it felt exactly the same as when I had OHSS. I called the hospital and they told me to come in for a scan the next day before ET. I felt a little better the next day but was 100% convinced ET would be cancelled especially as I threw up when I got the the clinic. Amazingly when the scanned me there was no build up of fluid on my ovaries, but they were concerned because of the pain and the sickness. They did consider leaving the embryos until Saturday but they were concerned they wouldn?t make it so in the end they compromised and asked me to come in today. I am still sore but much better than I was and ET went ahead at 7.30 this morning. After everything its still hard to believe that we actually made it to this stage. I just wanted to say thanks for all your support over the last few days, it really has helped.

luck - I am in awe of your self control lady! I am keeping fingers and ties crossed for you today x

Bodeccia ? congratulations on your transfer! I hope that they are listening to your messages and snuggling in nicely. We decided on 2 on the end much for the same reason as you. Out of the four, only two were suitable and one wasn?t top quality so probably wouldn?t have survived the thaw if it was frozen. Even the consultant, who had very much encouraged us to go for SET, said he thought we?d made the right decision which made me feel a lot better.

ellan - I hope you are feeling a bit more confortable now. I?m really glad you got checked out and they are keeping a close eye on you. I?m sure it will all be fine but better safe than sorry. Fantastic news about your embies ? well done you! It must be so hard being away from DS, but hopefully it will all be worth it

womanly - I?m really glad the spotting has stopped. Hope you are okay otherwise and the next couple of weeks pass quickly until your scan

louise - sorry you are not feeling so good, I hope you are feeling a little better today

cloclo of course you?re not being a brat lovely, it?s very frustrating when your dying to get going with it all. When you do get going, it all seems to happen really quickly and you quickly forget all the waiting around. It will come round quicker than you think for you and fru

skitoo - really glad your scan went well. I think however many follicles/eggs/embryos we get we always hope for more, but you sound like you have a perfect number. Good luck for your scan on Friday.

gardenpixie - I?m so glad your second scan went well and your on track for EC next week. You are so supportive to everyone on here, I really hope this cycle goes well, you deserve it.

Teds - hope your little fighters are growing stronger by the day and good luck for ET x

Hello to jumpin, owl, zeebee, fru, bugsy and everyone else x

luckbealady · 18/08/2011 13:52

Hi all,

Bad news I'm afraid, it's a BFN Sad.

POAS this morning and it was negative, plus I've started to bleed, so the writing was on the wall. The hospital confirmed about an hour ago. Well, we always knew our chances were 10% at best.

Next stop Frosty the frozen embryo. We're thinking in the new year, to give my body the chance to settle down and so I can enjoy Christmas!

Am going to bed now as I didn't sleep very well last night. Love to all.

xx

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 18/08/2011 14:25

luck, so sorry to hear you got a BFN. Am thinking of you today.
Look after yourself your body has been through so much over the last month.

Bodeccia · 18/08/2011 14:34

Oh no luck, my heart literally sank when I read your post :(
Am thinking of you. (((((((( luck )))))))

frustratedchick · 18/08/2011 14:37

...luck all my thoughts are with you, I am so so sorry.

Gardenpixie · 18/08/2011 14:41

(((((((((( luck ))))))))))

I am so sorry. I don't think there's anything any of us can say to make it better but FWIWI I think you have been so strong through all of this and all of my waggles are going to Frosty Luck.

Be good to yourself and let your body recover xxxxxxx

OP posts:
skitoo · 18/08/2011 14:42

Oh Luck, I'm so so sorry. Be kind to yourself and MrLuck xx

womanlytales · 18/08/2011 15:22

I am terribly sorry luck - please do take good care of yourself. Wish you all the very best with Frosty. Am so so sad to hear this.
