Ladies, we ran out of space on the old thread so here is a sparkly new one with dedicated areas for waggle dancing, hormonal outbreaks of bonkersness, sniffing, injecting and progesterone pessary related fartiness.

For anyone thinking about starting IVF / ICSI or going through it at the moment, do come and say hello. These wonderful ladies have kept me sane through the last few months and are a source of all knowledge concerning tests, down-regging, ov stimulating, DIY injections and much more so if you need any info or just some company, do join us.

So here's a welcome Brew for everyone and an enormous waggle dance for many many more BFPs to come

I'm loving the good news on at the moment: bugsy and louise: that is so ACE!

I'm back from EC. Mixed news: they found 24 follicles on the scan (24!!), but once they actually got them, only 9 had eggs in them. I think this might be the root of what the problem is: I'm producing follicles/periods, but I'm not actually producing eggs. I'm suddenly a bit anxious about it all, I suddenly feel like my chances of conceiving have been severely limited. Must repeat the mantra: it only takes one, it only takes one... They'll call me tomorrow to let me know if any have fertilised. In the meantime... !!

Good luck with the harpoons ellan, cake and teds. It is the last one!

((((( hugs to all )))))

Louiseteacher30 · 13/08/2011 17:10

Thanks garden and bodeccia! Xxx

bodeccia 9 is great!!! I had 10 and they considered that high, some of the ladies in for EC had 4 eggs at collection, some a few more, some less. The disco ball is getting ready to do its stuff and the champers is on chill for this evening for you!! It will be good news for you tomorrow xxx

Louise xx

koolforcats · 13/08/2011 17:49

Bodeccia, 9 eggs is ace news! You probably only feel anxious as they told you about the 24 follicles. If you hadn't known this then 9 would have seemed like a great amount as it really is! Please don't let this disappoint you, it really isn't bad news at all. I think anxiety at this stage is completely normal as you've come such a long way to get to this point but now is the time to put your feet up and feel proud of what you've achieved xx

Louise big congrats, wow you reckon twins eh? Will you have to go back to your clinic at all now or can you have an early scan in the UK?

Gardenpixie · 13/08/2011 18:14

Bodeccia 9 is brilliant news, lady! Well done! No matter that you had a few follies that were empty - that's what ivf is for and you ve already done the hard bit.

BIG disco ball for your eggies and Mr Bod's swimmers to be getting romantic and frisky tonight! Xxx

And another Grin, congrats Lousie, fab news. This thread is on a real run which fills me with hope.

Bodeccia, 9 is a great number. Everything that I've read says that between 8 and 12 is the optimum, so you are bang on, well done! And it only takes one!! I'm sending over a special delivery of bubbles and canapes for their special night with MrB's men Grin.

Caramel, the scan sounds amazing, how cute that you saw tiny little bite's heartbeat

Good luck with the trigger tonight Ellan, you're nearly there my sweets.

Garden, I shall continue with the stern looks at your follies and some mild waggling to keep them in check for tomorrow. My scan is Wednesday. Don't work too hard and if you come across the dishy DR, can you tell him I'm having some difficulty with my jabs and send him over Wink.

zeebee1 · 13/08/2011 20:01

Congrats bugsy and louise - wonderful news and fills me with such hope! I start in Sept (well that's when my Doctors let's get going appt at Guys is), so a Ellan please add me to your great summary list as "waiting to start"...
I assume i'll start sniffing around late Sept... so great to read these very helpful threads and understand it all so much more and not feel quite so scared! Just bought 2nd hand copy of Zita's fertility book which I am beginning to read - slowly - lots of stuff to take in - but well explained...
Happy waggle weekends to you all
zb xx

zeebee1 · 13/08/2011 20:04

ps - FOR CAT LOVERS Wink: saw a friends 7 week old baby last night - baby was asleep and looked as cute as our cat Donny asleep - I had to hold myself back saying out loud - Ahh - so cute - just like our cat!

bugsylugs · 13/08/2011 22:07

ellan, teds thinking of you re the big one 21.57 now XXX
womanlyhope you get some rest and sleep tonight and best of luck waggling my butt etc
caramelso exciting thaks for the update does that make you 6 weeks or 7 completely lost count?
louise fantastic new whispered back of course
blackcat thanks Maha asked for progesterone level and has sent me script for some utrogeston they say swallow but Sarah told me to use as a pessary. Seems lots coming back is that usual? The AMH and follicle number put you at increased risk but they know in advance so that is good so can alter meds and monitor much more closely and they have done it loads before.
skitoo hope you have been treating yourself gently and well it is soo difficult on a due date like anopther breavement. Hopefully concentrating on stims and this cycle can help lift you (((hugs))))
gp goodluck with scan tomorrow.

just realised I am still on page 9 and am doing my message when we are on page 10 what a dozy lady. hey hoo

bugsylugs · 13/08/2011 22:14

bodeccia as all have said that number is great news, but realise when you were told 24 and then 9 must have felt like a tradegy. disco-ball champers and chocy on the way over.

lovely sunday to everyone and sorry to those I have not posted too I am just tired and dozy and cannot concentrate

womanlytales · 14/08/2011 06:30

Congratulations louise - it's wonderful news. Regard to your earlier question, I am on my 3rd cycle of IUI. My insemination date was July 29. So today is 16 days after insemination.
bodeccia - I agree with the rest - 9 is fantastic - and love the disco ball stage :)
zeebee welcome and I've added you to ellan's list below.

Thank you so much for all the waggling - you ladies are really the best.
I did the test and BFP. I can't believe it - from so many months of looking at nothing, it is very hard to adjust to seeing two lines. The pregnancy line is fainter than the valid test line but as you have heard on mumsnet- a line is a line is a line. A part of me is nervous about staying pregnant - but another part is joyful and wants to sit back and let the happiness flood through my cells and make itself known. This can truly happen.

Updated ellan's list: Please add/edit as needed.

So, waiting to start: cloclo blacktreacle? fatima, zeebee1

Down regging/stimming we have garden, HKP, jumping, skitoo

Ready for EC we have Ellangirl, nocake and teds

EC 2 ET: Bodeccia

Waiting to test Luck

Whispering BFPs- Bugsy, Louise, Womanly

It's early days yet - next steps - have emailed the hospital and also am going to go over today to pick up some more pessaries - I run out today and the printout instructions says I need to continue if positive test result. Need to book a scan in two weeks time with clinic. And at that point will tell family.

Onwards and upwards ladies - Best of luck to all of you in all your different stages.

bugsylugs · 14/08/2011 06:55

womanly not read all of your post but CONGRATULATIONS I am so pleased for you my eyes are welling up. A line is line darkenss is irrelevant unlike ovualtion stick. Relax and smile like a cheshire cat

Louiseteacher30 · 14/08/2011 07:28

Congratulations womanly woooooo hooooo!!! We must be due at nearly the same time? I think I'm around 23rd April ish.

zeebee1 · 14/08/2011 09:55

Great news womanly so lovely to read on a Sunday morning!
zb

Cloclo15 · 14/08/2011 09:56

Huge congratulations womanly on your BFP, after three attempts at IUI I guess it's third time lucky :)

Cloclo15 · 14/08/2011 09:59

Oh, meant to say, I am looking forward to starting Garden - it hasn't really sunk in that's it's all real yet if you know what I mean as once we got into the system all the devastating news/appointments etc have come really quickly. But I was speaking to DH last night about how he felt and he says he is excited - although the chance of success is only 40%, that's better than it's ever been before. And you ladies are proof that it can work!

koolforcats · 14/08/2011 10:21

Womanly I was thinking about you not long after I woke up and hoping so much for a good result, and there it is! Great news, big congrats to you! Totally normal to feel worried but it sounds like your happiness is the main emotion which is as it should be Grin

Cloco I like to turn those success percentages on their heads and think if you stand 10 people in a room, why shouldn't you be one of the 4? Wishing you all the very best Smile

Teds77 · 14/08/2011 11:08

womanly that's absolutely fabulous. I'm dreading disappointment next week but feel really inspired that just because it doesn't work first or second time, doesn't mean it might not work out in the end. I don't think you'll get rid of the nervousness but do hope you can enjoy some of the joyfulness too Smile

Huge congrats to bugsy and Louise too - we are on a roll!

Also, whoops for bodeccia's nine eggs. Second and third what others sya, nine is fabulous and hope you've had good news about the disco ball stage... Grin

ellan and nocake hope you're all set for tomorrow! Am bit nervous now Confused

And Kool can only assume that Mr Kool is super special if you gave up your boys for him Grin

blacktreaclecat · 14/08/2011 12:20

Womanly congratulations
This is a very lucky thread to join

nocakeformeplease · 14/08/2011 13:48

Wow, I should go awol for a day again! Huuuuge congtaulations to bugsylugs, Louise and womanly. I am over the moon for you all and wish you all a very happy, healthy, non-eventful pregnancy. This thread is on a roll ? long may it continue :)

bugsylugs - very interesting to hear about your friends. Like you, I think we will probably go for 2 (day 3) in the end as that is what worked for us before. But will see if/how many we get first and take it from there. This is the bit I find scariest, especially waiting for the call to see how many fertilised.

skitoo - sorry you?re having a tough times ? I think its very natural to feel it hard when important dates like that pass. You look after yourself lovely, and hope you?re feeling a little better today. We?re footie fans too ? went yesterday, 1st time in the premiership in 15 years and we got stuffed 4-0 at home! Going to be a long, hard season?. Who?s your team?

caramel - how wonderful to see your little beans heartbeat :). I hope the next 3 weeks until your next scan passes quickly.

ellangirl - fab idea about the list, was just what we need with so many of us at the moment. Hope the trigger was okay?

gardenpixie - hope your jabs go okay this week and it?s not too hectic at work. Think we?d all love a hunky ER doc to help us :

bodeccia - 9 eggs truly is fantastic my love. I know because you had so many follicles, you may have been expecting more, but 9 is more or less the optimum number so I believe. Am keeping everything crossed for your call.

Teds - I?m in first thing tomorrow too ? so scared the car will breakdown or something and we?ll be late. DP can?t agree on what time to leave. If I had my way, I?d camp outside just in case! And in answer to your question, I?m knackered too!

Cloclo15 ? how exciting that you could be starting as soon as September. Probably a bit scary too, but we?ll be with you all the way.

Hello to koolforcats, zeebee, blacktreaclecat and everyone else I have missed

Well trigger done, so a nice drug free day for me today :). I?m in for EC at 7.50 tomorrow so not long to wait. DP has to work so will be dropping me off and picking me up but I?ll be on my own for it ? I?ll have to be big and brave!

Flickstar · 14/08/2011 14:06

Oh my goodness womanly I am beyond thrilled for you. This is truly the most wonderful news! You have been through so much and have never lost your positive spirit. Good things come to those who wait lovely. Enjoy this wonderful feeling! Lots of love, flick xxx

Ps. Hope your scan went well garden xxx

pumpkinjoy · 14/08/2011 16:49

Just a quick one from me as looking after my neices and nephew who are keeping me very busy indeed! Congratulations to Louise and Womanly what wonderful news. Good things do certainly happen and we're all putting ourselves through this in the hope of good things...

Also good luck and will be sending all positive thought waves tomorrow for Ellan and Nocake-have been reading your thoughts with interest regarding 1 or 2 embryos to put back. My clinic feel that we would be offered 2 at day 3 (if we get that far) so it is a big deal to decide eh? Think you just have to go with what is suggested at the time. Bit nerve wracking if 2 go in and then on tenderhooks, but if only 1 I might question if done enough if get BFN.

Anyway, happy sunday to you and love to all xx
