Congratulations Gracie Smile not sure I could keep it secret from dh for 3 minutes let alone 3 weeks! Grin

GracieGirl · 17/08/2011 21:18

Thanks Vjay and Buddha.

No I don't think I could keep it a secret from DH either. Maybe till he's next home (2 days). I don't want to tell him over the phone. I just think maybe I should keep it a secret. These are major exams and I don't want to put extra pressure on him. But if anything goes wrong I'd need him there. I can't expect him to deal with bad news if he's not had the good news first. So I'll tell him on friday.

bluesatinsash · 17/08/2011 22:28

Buddha so glad to read you have met the consultant and have the beginnings of a plan, it's been a long journey getting to here and all power to you for coping with it all x

Congrats Gracie

Louey hope ur cold's on the mend. Check you getting your labels on 4 weeks before school!

On phone so not stopping long...

4ever hope your OK as can be.. I know the weeks following can feel empty and lack purpose and focus. So pleased you have your hops round the corner x

barbie1 · 18/08/2011 04:19

Congrats Gracie!!!! Smile

Buddha, have the operation, it really has changed dolly for the best. Any questions you have I would be happy to help. Dolly also had her bloods taken but nothing ever came of it, just a child who is prone to ear infections...

I will be back to post later, I promise x

VJay · 18/08/2011 08:23

neeko hope all goes well with your grown up little lady today Smile
4ever thinking of you xx and like blue said your hops are just around the corner Grin
Buddha how do you feel about it all this morning?

Back later x

OP posts:
BuddhaBelly · 18/08/2011 09:50

Vjay Feeling a bit stressed to be honest, gut instinct definately says operation, but then started worrying this morning, stupid things like we've got 2 choices and what if I send him for an op and he doesn't wake up Sad ridiculous I know, don't think it's helping that work is really stressful today and it was 3 years ago today we found out that our little angel had died at our 12 wk scan so feel a bit of an emotional wreck! I know that the op is the right decision just wobbling a bit.
Barbie Is Dolly's sleeping better after op?

VJay · 18/08/2011 10:14

It is hard I know. I've got ajays peanut challenge next week, and I don't want to give peanuts when I know he will react badly, but I suppose he will be in the right place for it. I just feel so guilty putting him through this when I could refuse to, but then we won't have any answers.
In your circumstances I think I would go for the op too. Stay strong Smile and have a hug to you deserve one xx

OP posts:
barbie1 · 18/08/2011 10:55

Buddha, sorry about you having a bad time, anniversaries are just pants. Dolly is sleeping better, 7 til 6.30am, she settles much better too and is just generally all the better for it. The op it's self isn't pleasant, I won't lie...I bloody crapped myself thinking the worst, but it's only a 20 min op and you will be in recovery for him when he comes around, you get the best cuddles then Smile

Vjay, understand your concerns re the nut thing, I hope it all goes well and
Like you said it's all supervised and they wouldn't let anything bad happen to the precious a Jay.

BuddhaBelly · 18/08/2011 12:14

Vjay I too would be crapping myself about the peanut test, don't think any mother wouldn't to be honest, but like Barbie says you're in the right place and hopefully they can get some answers about his allergy, scary stuff though Sad
Thanks both for your kind words, normally not too emotional on anniversary dates as I've tried not to remember each individual dates (just remember when we do our chinese lantern on E's birthday) but it kinda sneaks up on you doesn't it? Doesn't help that the ERPC was on FIL's birthday so a constant reminder unfortunately Sad
Really hating work today too! Just had to interview a sex offender Sad and have to be professional and courteous to him when I just want to poke his eyes out Shock

loueytb3 · 18/08/2011 14:19

{{{{{ Buddha }}}}} I'm sorry you're having such a rough day. These days are never easy are they. I'm glad you saw a good consultant (finally). I think if I were in your position I would go for the op, short term trauma for long term gain IYSWIM. I know it's a very difficult decision - you almost need someone to just say this is what we are doing to take the decision out of your hands. Hope barbie has helped ease your fears a bit.

vjay fingers crossed ajay doesn't show a reaction, cos I know how scary it must be. At least you will know either way and yes you are definitely in the right place - seems like you've had to wait ages for this appt. is ajay still wandering around looking for his big bro?

Gracie how lovely to see you and big congratulations on your bfp!!!! I can see why you don't want to tell DH yet, but trying to keep it secret for that long would be tough. I couldnt but that's mainly because I start throwing up almost instantly (and eating crap Grin) Its probably better to tell him with 3wks to go rather than 3 days.

cupcake my plan is definitely to go and see HP at a mum and baby screening if poss. I still havent seen the penultimate one but it's just started on sky box office so that's my Friday evening sorted! HV said up to 8wks was normal for smiling so we have a week to go (7wks corrected today). We have had the odd one but then you wonder if you've imagined it.

blue Cold is now at tickly cough stage. It's buggered up my plan for a new svelte Louey cos I have missed 2 days of shred due to feeling crap. On the other hand, I haven't had any cake or wine and have cut out the crisps. I had to do the labels this wk as we have no childminder from tomorrow cos she is going on holiday for 2 wks (sob). DH is off work for most of it and we going to do lots of outings, hence no time to iron on labels. Still got to get school shoes and some kind of mac. I'm currently selling my first thing on ebay and getting excited about the fact that 2 people are watching it already

barbie hope you are ok and not too stressed about it all

4ever hope you are ok too, you've been quiet....

littlebellsmum · 18/08/2011 21:38

Hello everyone - just a quicky from me . Off to festival tomorrow and so need to start packing. The last month I seem to have been doing nothing else. Anyway - gracie fab timing to be back... and such lovely news

buddha sorry to hear about E's ears. Very worrying but might better once the op is over ,

Got to go - packing..

4everhopeful · 19/08/2011 12:01

Right, had to post that incase i lost it! Thanks to you all for thinking of me, I'm weebling along, you all know how it goes, been keeping myself ridiculously busy and doing lots of sorting and time consuming jobs round the house that id put off for ages, like blue aptly said, think I'm trying to fill the sense of lack of purpose, it so made me Grin though, as Vjay pointed out, that my hops are round the corner! Grin That does sum it up, i have an image of me bouncing into the sunset grinning with Summer and DH! As i keep saying though, my gorgeous funny girl really keeps me smiling constantly, she is a little whirlwind into everything so I'm constantly entertained and entertaining! Obviously I'm having my down times, and its not been at all easy, but I'm a survivor and really not into self pity cos figure that just makes you feel more shit! Am really enjoying manically planning our holiday to the last minute detail! I'm ridiculously excited! Also lost the half a stone that I instantly put on with my BFP, could just do with losing another half a stone now! Tomorrow Dh and I are taking Summer for a day out by the river along the South bank and gonna get dinner where us girlys had our meet ups as he was a bit Envy when i told him the sort of stuff on the menu! Grin

So thats me! Still here, keeping on keeping on, trying not to let it grind me down, weebling here and there, but holding onto what I've got very very tightly with both hands and thanking god daily for that, that includes you lovely girlys too, there for me like no others, love ya lots xxxxxx

mermaidspurse · 19/08/2011 12:36

what sort of things were on the menu? come on it's friday we can dribble a bit moreSmile

cupcakefairy · 19/08/2011 13:53

Jude has finished his lunch in reocrd time and squealing from his high chair so v quick post from me to say congrats to Gracie! So exciting for you! I remember I was in France 2 years ago when I got a text from you saying you had a 7wk bean with a heartbeat (...and now we're off to France again tomorrow Grin yippeeee.) so excited for you that is just lovely news.

Hi 4ever glad to hear you sounding positive, you're so right about self-pity making you feel worse.

Big hugs and love to all mummies going through difficult times- school, peanut tests, operations etc- just remember you are all a lot stronger than you realise!

moon always thinking of you lots too...you ok?

Got to dash, Jude is ready to make his escape...and random piles all over the house need to somehow become proper packing in the next few hours Confused xxx

mermaidspurse · 19/08/2011 15:59

tapas?

mermaidspurse · 19/08/2011 16:28

buddha it is always such a relief when you get a lovely consultant who actually sees your child as a person. Really hard to make such decisions but i know you will make the right ones. How is the physio too?

vjay ds2 so has my sympathy and I kindda wish this testing had all been around when i was little as it would have made much of my childhood a lot more bearable.
The sensation when eating a nut, whatever allergen you are allergic too is firstly a sort of tingly sensation, sometimes on the roof of the mouth, lips and back of the throat. Hopefully they give him so little that he will only experience very mild symptoms? it is usually only when I have eaten it fully that things really get exciting. As you have said he will be in the best place but it is still horrible.

moon know you are ticking off the crawlingly slow weeks, please check in xxxx

blue my ds is shocked that Scottish schools are going back and has made sure we have no plans to move up north! We are just about to go into year 6, so, last year of primary and it really has whooshed past. Doesn't seem five minutes ago we were licking his hair down and posing for the piccys on the first day. I hated putting the monstrous clarks school shoes on him, it seemed to encapsulate losing his baby years - sorry off to find hanky, not helping am ISmile

gracie congrats.

cupcake am now tapping my fingers waiting for my first films and i blinking well just know they won't pick any of the highly intellectual stuff I picked!
Enjoy your holiday and I bet you will all 3 of you really enjoy it this year.
