I'm back in the desert. So much to catch up on, nightmare journey has tired us all out but once the little madam decides she wants a nap I will come and catch up x

4everhopeful · 08/08/2011 08:57

Glad you're home safe and sound barbie... Amazing news that you're coming back to London! North south east or west?

Mrskate lovely to hear from you and that all is well.. can't believe your boy is 17m?! Where does the time go? Say hi to gracie for us, and thanks for the hug..

Vjay did you check loueys link? Hope its weighlayed your fears somewhat lovely lady?

We had a really lovely lunch! Smile It was so lovely to see curly and the gorgeous curly girl again, and fantastic to finally meet the lovely monkey and her supercute boy! The girls sat next to each other in their highchairs happily playing with crayons and munching their food, was so sweet seeing them together trying to chat! Charlie was an absolute cutie and very sweet seeing him reading Summers peppa pig book with her Was really good to get together with 2 such likeminded and caring, understanding souls and just chat away and pour our hearts out.. They said i was brave for coming out, but i think they are brave too, and there's no one else that would of made that first venture so comfortable., there was no need for me too elaborate on my feelings or what I've just gone through as there is such an unwritten understanding, which was so very refreshing.. it really was special ...

However did possibly overdo it Confused as Dh was also having a very rare day out at football, I decided to make myself busy and after the lunch popped to the shopping for a few bits, then to SIL to drop off her birthday card, but stayed for a while so the kids could play together, by thr time i got home. I had the 4th day of a terrible headache., which i think is down to the hormones crash, and also heavier bleeding than id had previously.. I then had a bad tummy that night which was really tender, but have since discovered that's probably down to the post op infection preventing anti bios they put me on.. Confused Was very glad when Dh got home, specially as he'd narrowly missed the riots that happened in tottenham that night! Shock So have been taking it easy since, though getting my hair done today, which is a bit wierd to leave Summer with MIL again today, as this time last week it was to go and have the erpc... Been a bit up and down, by my lmp id of been. 12wks tomorrow, but measurements made me 12wks on sat, my 12wk scan was meant to be on thursday, so that's hard... Sad Tbh my coping mechanism is to try not to think about it all too much as being sad and depressed isn't gonna change anything is it?

barbie1 · 08/08/2011 09:28

Well nap time has gone to pot, dolly has no idea what time it is or which routine to follow, can't complain since we stayed in bed til 9am this morning!

Will do personals later but just wanted to answer the questions re London, I'm gutted to be honest Sad
it's all happening to quickly, should be home in sept. Dh will be in finch street central London so we are looking to move again to the Kingston area as we know it well and he can get the surbiton fast train to central.

We will be home for about 18 months until the south Korea move. Will have nothing apart from what we can carry until everything is shipped home about 12 weeks after we arrive so will have to be in serviced apartment until we find somewhere and things arrive. So two moves in 3 months.

We also have to stress of losing the expat contract, a third less wages and having to pay for a car, housing and we also lose the medical cover. If it wasn't for the fact the dh will be really benifiting his career we would just stay here, but the contract he will be Is the worlds first and he will become much sought after to work on other projects which gives us the opportunity to pick and chose in the future.....

On the plus side I will finally be able to meet some of you, very exciting!

bluesatinsash · 08/08/2011 13:14

Quickie from work...

4ever - really, really glad your first outing was to meet the lovely curly and monkey. There is nonthing like kinship and shared experiences to help heal the soul..

Not so good that you overdid it though and glad you are taking it easy. In my experience things gets a little easier after the 12-week scan date as not many of us have any future dates in diaries that we have to score out Sad. Never feel you can't be sad, no it won't change anything but owning your sadness and not feeling bad for feeling sad will actually make the happier days easier (if that makes any sense?!!).

What about the riots down there Shock. I remember the 1981 ones, so spookily captured by The Specials 'Ghost Town'..

Barbie - hope you are all catching up on your sleep and getting used to your London relocation. Can understand how you are a bit Confused by it all but 18 months is a small price for future salary and location freedom. you will get to experience an NHS birth to, well unless you shuffle off to The Portland Wink. BTW my Benjamin was always measured one full week ahead, just a big baby nothing sinister Smile

to everyone else. Back to work, mega busy today xx

barbie1 · 08/08/2011 16:53

Am i allowed a wobble and moan?

I wanted to catch up but dh is trying to sync the new i pad to the mac so have to be quick.

I called my doctor today to tell her about the scan in the uk and the fact i will miss the tests needed at 12 weeks, after a chat she told me she was concerned how the scan in the uk dated me and that there could be a problem either with the dates or at the very worse with the baby due to excessive growth Confused

i have sat and made a list of dates, all of which are out by about 10 days between dubai scan and uk scan. Doctor here says that a 7 day difference wouldnt concern her but 10 days is a bit too much, she is of course convinced her dating was right.

to cut a long story short i can be 13+1 by lmp date
uk scan says 13+4
dubai scan says 12+2 In line with 2 earlier scans.

Ramadan means my doctor is booked solid due to reduced hours so i have been referred for a scan tomorrow at the fetal clinic.

I hope there is nothing wrong Sad

I know i have enough scans to realize that the dates can be out but the three early ones were consistent and then a big jump to 13 weeks!

4ever i am thinking of you all the time x

4everhopeful · 08/08/2011 17:25

Sure its fine barbie as i just said in my earlier post, by lmp i should have been 12w tomorrow, however measurements would of dated me 11w2d today.. Its all down to ovulation and baby size, Dolly was small whereas Summer was 9lb 5 and incredibly long.. Also nuchal scan and odds should still be able to be done, as i also said, mine was meant to be on thurs, and remember being near on 13w with Summers..

VJay · 08/08/2011 17:47

barbie try nor to worry, I have heard of a few people who when they went for their 12 week scans found they were a few days to a week further on, even though they were sure of their dates. I had two early scans with ajay that were consistent with the dates but the dating scan still moved me on a few days. It is hard to date when bubba is so tiny.

blue hope you're not working too hard, have a Wine Smile

Gotta dash the boys are climbing on me!

OP posts:
4everhopeful · 08/08/2011 18:51

Oh and massive thank you to blue for being so lovely with just the right words, ownin my sadness and not feeling bad for feeling sad is so true.. You are also very right, the scan date on Thursday is the last hurdle of dates and apts made that i no longer need, so in some ways its also sad to then let go and truly move on iykwim? Confused x

Neeko · 08/08/2011 19:50

Just a quick ones from me as I'm sorting out class lists for going back to work next week Sad Confused

4ever Huge hug brave lady. I'm glad your first outing was among friends and remember the dates for your lost lo as much as you need to on here. Yes, it hurts ,but it hurts more to pretend it never was.

Barbie H consistently measured a week over my dates. According to the NHS she was born a week overdue, but was covered in vernix so my fantastic midwife agreed that I was right all along. (which was enough to shut me up) I know it's hard, but try not to worry. It will be easier when you're back and can text us all your wobbles without worrying about bankrupcy the cost.

Blue You really do have a way with words. Want to come and teach my seniors? Smile Tried M's full uniform on the other day, blazer and all. So proud of how grown up she looks but for the baby she was. She's at a magic age, all innocence and trust and bursting with questions. I know she has to lose some of that innocence at school, but I wish it wasn't yet.

LBM Have another lovely holiday Smile

Hi to MrsKate Glad the wee one's doing so well.

Hello Vjay What's new with you?

Louey hope you're getting a minute to draw breath.

Ensuite is finished and is gorgeous. Looks like someone else's bathroom! Grin We've now stripped our bedroom and will remain decamped to the spare room for the forseeable future the next few weeks. It'll all be worth it. There's something so satisfying about doing away with the decor from the previous owners.

Girls are good. Caught H dancing on the dining room table Shock, quickly followed by the kitchen table Shock Shock She certainly keeps me on my toes.

cupcakefairy · 09/08/2011 11:32

Quickie from me as baby sleeping and I have Grey's season 6 to watch Grin

Sorry for being a bit awol, been away at my parents', had v lovely weekend with the family.

barbie great news you'll be nearer to us all but Confused for you I can imagine...especially with all the stuff going on in London at the mo :( hope you're ok and the docs can reassure you about dates v soon.

4ever so glad you had lovely time with the girls...monkey's ds sounds so cute!! Thinking of you for Thurs, and for the moving on after it.

curly and monkey hope you both had lovely time too. Can't ait for the day I can finally meet some of yoU!!

Vjay I still haven't managed to see Harry Potter...we had a babysitter last weds but when we got to cinema the screening was sold out, so so gutted! My parents coming to babysit tomorrow so we can try again!!

Neeko lol at H dancing Grin Jude dances all the time now too... he stands by the radio in our room switching it on and off and wobbling his head to the music each time it comes on, so funny Grin
Hope going back to school is ok Confused

Hi mrskate good to see you! I too did a double take at Jack being 17 months. Wow! Just can't believe our first Emmsy graduate Ajay is nearly 2 aswell...where has the time gone??

Right sorry to have missed a million of you...thinking of qa lots at the mo...when is your due date lovely?? So sorry I don't know Blush also hope all our lovely ladies in London area are ok :( so horrible what's going on.

gotta go stick the kettle on Grin

4everhopeful · 09/08/2011 12:07

Neeko thanks for the hug lovely lady, am in need at the moment .. Made me smile to think of H dancing on tables! Had to rescue Summer from our kitchen table too a few days back since she discovered climbing on the chairs!

Bloody crazy here in London, sports and phone shop opposite my hairdressers in streatham had been looted yesterday, but last night was awful, we are a 10 min drive from croydon and that was like a warzone, and 5mins down the road in colliers wood shops in our local retail park were done over too.. its sheer mindless opportunists, it makes me so sad that our own communitys are doing this damage and leaving people homeless and ruining businesses.. I lived down the road from Brixton in the 86 riots but this is on another level..

4everhopeful · 09/08/2011 12:10

X post cupcake! We deffo have to meet one day soon..

barbie1 · 09/08/2011 12:52

Sat in car, I pad in hand while dolly sleeps. Scan all ok, edd 12 deb, low risk and bloods ok. Was offered to know sex but declined.

I wasn't too stressed as I was thinking of my mum, she was rushed back to hospital yesterday. The mess she has been taking for her cancer and diabetes have been messed up since op, adding to that a cocktail of new ones takes her daily total to 39 Shock therefore her body is confused and seems to be giving up. She had scans yesterday to check cancer hasn't returned so I am on tenterhooks waiting for the call. Never rains but it pours.....

Thinking of you all in and around the London area, makes me so sad to see the kind of world the children will be growing up in.

Will come back soon, lots of love xx

loueytb3 · 09/08/2011 13:59

Sorry for being slightly awol, having internet troubles and haven't had enough time to phone o2 to rant sort it out. Am hoping that the connection stays long enough for me to post.

barbie great news about your scan Smile, I was also sure that the dates would be fine, I'm sorry your Dubai dr scared you for no reason Angry. I'm really sorry about your poor mum though Sad hope they manage to get to the bottom of it soon. If she is taking that many drugs, chances are its one of those making her ill - they all interact. You have had a such a topsy turvy few months, I'm sure under different circumstances you would be happier about moving back to London, but I know that lots of moves + a very active toddler + being pg is not going to be easy. However, you have lots of emmsys here to help, virtually and (hopefully) IRL. I would love to meet up for coffee and cake with you all. Talking of which...

4ever you brave lady - I'm sorry that I very belatedly realised that I never replied about your meet up. As it turned out we had people over so I couldn't have come. But will be free to meet up during the week once DTs starts school. I'm glad you and curly and monkey had a lovely lunch and it was a comfort to you to have other emmsys there to help you through this awful time. Deep breath and here's my hand for Thursday. Hope you don't have any more rioting near you - I am thankful that I live in a cul-de-sac in outer London. My DSis is in Streatham though, so not far from it all. Bloody mindless!

mermaid so lovely to see you back posting in your unique styleee Grin. When I read your post about shred my knees were remarkably unscathed. Now they are fucked and I have never had any problems with them. Still, will try and finish the 30 days and then move onto something else I think. I have Davina from the last post-natal period and fancied a change quick fix What happened about your gym - did it ever re-open??

neeko back to school already Shock, it doesn't seem 2 minutes that you broke up. Yay for having a finished bathroom (finally) - soon you will have a whole new boudoir Grin. We want to see pics when its done (pretty please). Bless H dancing on the table, so cute Smile

cupcake Greys is a good one (won't spoil it). Am really looking forward to the next season...I'm thinking of trying to find a mother and baby cinema screening and then I might be able to see HP. DH just won't go to the cinema. Mind you, when I am going to find time to fit it in, I don't know!!

vjay boys, climbing - never! Grin

mrskate lovely to hear from you and that things are going well.

monkey not sure if you're back now, how did your holiday go? When does your IVF start, I've forgotten if its August or September?

Got to go, O is crying on cue for his 2pm feed. Will post more later (I promise!)

loueytb3 · 09/08/2011 17:12

Back again, trying to post this time whilst stand-in cleaner hoovers around me Confused. Usual one is on holiday and this one speaks v little english. I'm not complaining though, if she wasn't here, I would have to clean. (Can you tell I HATE cleaning Grin)

LBM hope you are having a nice start to your holiday and the weather stays fine for you all.

Blue back to school must mean that your Isaac starts soon - eek! Are you all set??

buddha how is E? Has he recovered from the latest ear infection? Poor you on the scoliosis - it sounds horribly painful. Many years ago, I worked with someone who had it and suffered from back pain. Would you believe she took up belly dancing and that apparently helped Shock

cupcake meant to say I had a little eeek of excitement that you are on the small panters bench.

mls hope you managed to get some sleep during your weekend away. We have DTs in our room when we go to the ILs and we are knackered by the end of it. Very difficult to ignore 2 children jumping on you in the morning. Am Grin at you being broody - my DH didn't want any more but wasn't sufficiently against it to warrant doing anything about it. Hence we now have Oscar Grin but that is definitely it.
Have you got any where with K's appt?

moon I was Sad when I read your post about your sister being due and you not being pg. I really really hope you get a break on the clomid cos it is about time you graduated I think.

QA hope you're ok out there and not too knackered. I'm guessing you are busy now school holidays are upon us.

BQ waves to my June buddy. I am Envy of Luca smiling, still haven't got that.

Right, just time to update from here. We are doing ok, had a rough few days last week with very little sleep after O had apparently slept through for a few nights. Last night was much better and he slept from 10.30-6 with just a squeak in the night. Not counting my chickens yet though. He is doing very well, apart from the aformentioned lack of smiling which is starting to get me a tad worried. He is 9.5 weeks (5.5 weeks corrected cos he was prem). It just feels like an awfully long time to wait for that elusive smile. And like vjay am slightly paranoid about ASD because of the history. The HV has said the average is around 6 weeks so I hope he does it soon. On the plus side, he's not floppy like Isaac was, and is already batting at his toys and sometimes grabbing them. I've just gone through and dug out a load of the DTs old toys for him me to play with. Still having quite a few appointments for Isaac, Thursday is going to be a nightmare, speech therapy first thing and then a 3hr round trip to occupational therapy. But it is his last OT appt as school will take it over so things should get easier.

Right, must go. Have a Boden coat I want to order Grin

mermaidspurse · 10/08/2011 17:04

afternoon all! think we can have a mid weekWine around now.

blue I have ghost town playing in my head all week too, no 42" plasma screens then though..... loved the 'own your sadness' we can always rely on you being totally Wordsworthian. not sure if that is a word but you now what i mean.

4ever that was so near to youShock very scary times.
I know you are stumbling through the days and putting your bestest face on it all.
These threads have kept many of us from going completely insane with loss and anger and pain and the loneliness that a mc brings. It is why we stumbled on the original emmsys thread all that time ago, sept 08 I thinkShock You know that this is always a safe place to just go blahhhhhhhhhhhh when you can't to anyone or anywhere else.

Now i have some heartening news for all new and not so news mums who are not getting their full quota of sleep.
I went to wake ds up this morning at ten past nine to be met with the immortal words "why do i have to get up" Grin so there you have it 10 next week and loving his bed. so it will happen ladies, may take 10 years but it wil eventually happen!

louey see jillian knackers knees, mine still hurts weeks later and my friend has strapped her knee up. Tummy blaster is good except she gurns more than davinia but she doesn't keep you going up and down like a yo-yo and it is in handy ten minute bursts.
The gym went bust and the wicked witch of the north went back to the north. so instead we have kind of recreated a 'gym experience' at a friends but with more tea and biscuit moments and no monthly payments either. Just take it in turns with the dvds.

and o is just saving up a whopper of a smile, just you wait x

moon i expect the weeks are dragging but i so hope you are ok and managing with the approaching arrival of your dn/n. thinking of you masses, especially when i saw floods in your part of the world the other day, hope you are ok.

barbie wow bet your feet haven't touched the floor, what a mad few months. Poor freddie too although I guess he will enjoy the cooler climate.

cupcake still not discovered greys, are you on the bench?

vjay hi five lovely lady also to monkey and curly hope everyone is ok oh yes and our lovely sabs miss you and hope you and the 2 s's are ok and you all feel safe in your neck of the woods.

right the red arrows are about to whoosh over us which always causes complete chaos to our bit of the world and nor have I seen brad pittEnvy so I had better go xx

mermaidspurse · 10/08/2011 17:04

which boden coatEnvy

littlebellsmum · 10/08/2011 23:22

Good idea, mermaid for the drink - being on holiday, we are having lots! Thanks for the positive thoughts about the weather - sadly/ or not sadly it has rained all day and the rain blows horizontally down the valley. However, we are priveliged enough to be staying in an original Dales farmhouse and so, we spent the day, in the house doing grown up jigsaws whilst the big kids played and Babybelle practised her walking. Now curled up by the stone fireplace with the fire blazing as the wind howls - I love summer holidays Grin. Couldn't even be bothered to go to the pub tonight ( we have babysitters with us!), too snuggly here.

4ever sorry to hear that it is so close to you. We are so remote here that I didn't know anything was happening - no mobile signal, not bought a paper or listened to the news or radio and no freeview . yes, broadband but using it to find out weather reports rather than anything else Smile

barbie great news on the scan, sorry to hear that your mum is having so many problems. The good news is that you will soon be home which will surely make her feel better already.

barbie1 · 11/08/2011 12:00

What a few days, call finally came late last night (everyone forgets the time difference) thankfully mum has the all clear from the return of cancer and it seems she just picked up a very bad viral infection from some where. Phew...

We should know more about the move to London tomorrow, we had a few concerns that needed looking over and should with fingers crossed get a few more answers tomorrow. I am slowly coming around to live in the uk again Smile

So life is feeling more stable for the minute, a few less worries to concern myself with.

4ever thinking about you today, you have been so very brave.

loueytb3 · 11/08/2011 12:07

mermaid this one. Not very exciting but I need something to keep me dry when I'm taking DCs to school. I just hope I can do it up over my mahoosive boobs (although they will be shrinking very soon as I'm about to stop expressing.) Liking your new home gym plan, especially the Biscuit part of it Grin. Which davina DVD do you recommend? I want to go swimming at the local pool which allegedly has a creche but not until the schools go back. Once I've done the shred, will mix it up a bit. Day 17 today. Am hoping that my boys decide they want to sleep in when they are a bit older

lbm I'm sorry you're getting rained on but your farmhouse sounds nice and snug.

loueytb3 · 11/08/2011 12:09

Xpost barbie phew about your mum. Hope you get some answers about your move soon.

4ever forgive me, forgot it was Thursday. Hope you are ok xxx
