This should be clomid and IUI (for Katierocket) thread. Hoping this one will be luckier than the last - can't be any worse, don't think we had a single BFP did we?

Lots and lots and lots of luck to us all.

Sorry to hear about AF and the ned of clomid Artoo. I hope your June appointment goes as you wish it to.

Trace - I came on this thread to ask the same question after reading your post on the May thread.
What CD do you normally ov?
I am always late (CD18/19) and have LPD, but they give me my hcg jab on CD13-15. I wonder if that's too early as I'm normally late?

coggy · 14/05/2006 12:40

Sorry Artoo - I meant end (not ned!)

trace2 · 14/05/2006 12:54

well i usally get the surge on day 12 to 14, af usally day 24 to 28, so no idea whats happening, but i googled clomid last night and it says it may make you ovulate late, which means late af, and for once i hope i am late as going away next sunday when af due, i hopw it holds off untill we come home.

trace2 · 14/05/2006 12:56

coggy what day you on?

coggy · 14/05/2006 13:19

I'm CD20.
I am confused!!
I had my jab on day 15 and we bd on CD16 & 17.
I wonder if the jab DEFINITLY starts ov. off or if I still may not have?
I don't think I can use opk because they are detecting the hormone in the jab aren't they?
Are they?!!
Oooooohhh! I now know nothing!!!
I think I may have one clomid cycle without going for a jab and see if that makes any difference.

coggy · 14/05/2006 13:22

It said on the website I was looking at recently that if you are having IUI (my next step) then they inject the sperm 36 hours after the hcg jab.

I just wonder if my follicles would be big enough on CD15 if I nowmally ov on 18/19 and especially if clomid can make you later!!

Sometimes I think it's better not to know!!

Rachee · 14/05/2006 16:56

nurse told me to bk 36 hours after the jab, not before, and then a 36 hour window for the egg till it's too late and gone...... so if i remember right, the jab is for making the eggs grow quickly and releasing them at the exact time..... hope this helps

xXx

cd 23, 4th cycle of clomid.

coggy · 14/05/2006 21:38

Okay...so I had my jab at 9am Tuesday and we bd weds am and Thurs eve (I can't really believe I am sharing this info!!)
That would be 24 hours and 60 hours (ish)...is that good or bad?!!

I know that sperm can survive for some time so here's hoping!!

coggy · 14/05/2006 21:40

Just re-read your nurse's timings (!!!) and sounds like it's good up to 72 hours after jab.
I hope so.....
....loses some of the romance this rather doesn't it??!! Wink

Loubie, fantastic news!!! Very well done to you both! What did you do that was different this month??

Haven't been on for a while as soooo very busy with work, home, etc, oh and acupuncture of all things which I am doing twice a week. Was late for period and I knew that I wasn't preg as that dreaded dull pain for 3-4 weeks and acupuncurist told me to take preg test before she tried to bring on period. Took test and neg so needle went in on the Monday, a teeny show on the Wednesday and period started Friday! Don't know if it was going to come anyway or if it was the acupuncure. So now on day 3 and the clomid course for this month starts tonight. Aggghhh, not looking forward to the headaches, weepy moments, irritability but I am looking forward to those ripe follicles.

Good luck everybody. Loubie is another one who has succeeded on this thread, there is hope for us all yet. Super news!

Loubie37 · 15/05/2006 08:09

Hi, thanks everyone for your good wishes :) I'm going to get booked in this morning - call me paranoid but I just had to do another test this morning so I know I'm still pregnant before I go....that's 6 now!

The main thing I did differently this month was I took a risk and self increased my clomid dose to 150mg per day Blush. I had my doubts that 100mg was working and seeing as it was my last month on Clomid and I had some spare I decided to risk it :)

The only other thing that was different was I OV'd really late...I don't know if this had anything to do with taking the extra clomid? Because I was using OPKs I knew when to BD and made sure we got plenty in! I got my smiley face on the Saturday evening (CD20) and we dtd saturday morning, saturday night, sunday morning, sunday night and monday night Blush

Afterwards I put a pillow under my bum and a couple of times I fell asleep so stayed like that for a couple of hours or so Wink

I really do hope that you all get BFPs, if it can happen to me (I'm 38, overweight, been TTCing 2 years and been on Clomid for 7 months) it can happen to anyone!!!!

Loubie xx
5 weeks today :)

ShouldKnowByFriday · 15/05/2006 22:57

Loubie, I re-read some of this thread last night after I posted and read your post where you were prescribed 150mg of clomid, which I believe was by mistake was it not?, and you were wondering if you should take it. Well, I would have been scared but good for you, it bl**dy well worked! Have you told the prescribing doctor??!!

Reading that you took 2 years of ttc to c gives me hope. Very good news!

Loubie37 · 16/05/2006 07:46

Hi, it wasn't exactly a mistake....I had some spare so decided to increase the dose myself as it was my last month on Clomid and I didn't have enough spare to take for an extra month if you get my drift?

The weird thing is I rang my doctors yesterday to get my 7DPO prog level result back thinking it would be quite high after the extra dose, but it was only 29??!! That would normally suggest no ovulation has taken place, but it must have done!!!

I was talking to a neighbour last night who we don't know too well....she had a baby 10 days ago so we popped round to see them and found out that they'd been TTCing 4 years, were under the same infertility specialist as us, and were also successful on their 7th month of Clomid! Also, she's only a year younger than me, so that really gave me hope that this pregnancy will be a success :):)

So there's hope for all of us :):)

Loubie xx
5+1

Natty1806 · 16/05/2006 08:35

Hi Loubie37

I am really pleased for you, why were you put on clomid? Just want to know as if there are others out there being put on it for the same reason it means extra hope for us. x

trace2 · 16/05/2006 09:39

well i got a surge on opk sticks, but no temp rise, so looks like no ovulation after all this month Sad

Loubie37 · 17/05/2006 07:46

Hi

I was put on Clomid because of sporadic ovulation....in all the months I was tested (which is quite a few)pre clomid I only ovulated once.

I'm still convinced it was the extra dose of clomid that made the difference - I wasn't monitored during clomid other than day 21 blood tests on month 2, 3, 6 & 7, and my levels for the first 3 months were 20, 42 & 29. Hardly very inspiring!

Good luck to everyone else on here, hope you all fet BFPs soon :)

Loubie37 · 18/05/2006 07:48

Hi

Things aren't quite so happy in our house right now....I've been spotting brown stuff for the last couple of days, but last night when I went to the loo and wiped it was bright red. Since then it's gone back to being brown and there was barely anything over night but I'm so scared this one's not going to make it. I'm going to the docs today but not sure what they'll be able to do, I think it's too early for anything to show up on a scan?

coggy · 18/05/2006 07:50

Oh Loubie Sad sorry you've got this worry.
Hope it all goes well at the doctors.
Thinking of you.X

Jodee · 18/05/2006 08:01

Loubie, really sorry to read this. Hoping all will be OK and it's just implantation bleeding, I think it may be too early at 5 wks to see anything on a scan (could be mistaken tho'). xxx

trace2 · 18/05/2006 08:33

Loubie hold on in there, thinking of you, it may just be spotting

Natty1806 · 18/05/2006 08:51

Sorry to hear that Loubie Sad
thinking of you.

Loubie37 · 18/05/2006 09:18

Just been speaking to the nurse at our doctors who booked me in on Monday and she's reassured me no end. She said it's really common in early pregnancy (for both red and brown spotting) and that it's a good sign if it's only there when I wipe and that I've got no cramping.

She said there's no point in a scan at this early stage, and that it might worry me even more if I had one and they saw nothing (bearing in mind that because I ovulated late I'm more likely to be 4 weeks +, not 5+).

So I'm going in for a blood test at 11am and then having another one on Monday to check my hcg levels are rising. I'm taking the rest of the week off work and putting my feet up - I'm taking no chances whatsoever with this one!!

Thanks for your replies, they mean a lot xx

trace2 · 18/05/2006 09:20

good luck, and rest rest and rest

Natty1806 · 18/05/2006 10:45
