So the last thread disappeared so here's the deal: I realised it's really annoying to drive yourself mad wondering if you're pg during the 2ww. Newbies welcome!

OP posts:
DizzyKipper · 08/06/2011 08:04

When I was pregnant exhaustion was my first symptom, so feeling shattered must only be a good thing Wink Spotting also sounds about the right time for implantation bleeding, fx

DizzyKipper · 08/06/2011 08:05

That's a bugger Ninja, sorry the evil witch managed to track you down.

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 09:33

these things happen dizzy. You sound like you are looking forward to the move, is it soon? I got pg with ds within a week of moving house! That meant the year we lived in Islington with all its bars and nightlife was one where I got to watch dp get drunk! We are naow safelt back in suburbia where my social life consists of decaffinated tea and biscuits at friends houses on my afternoons off!
faithbaby hope you feel a bit more chipper, its horrible when you feel all down and emotional. But you kow what? Maybe that namechange was for a reason...

DizzyKipper · 08/06/2011 11:01

Yep we move in 3 weeks. It's only to a 40min drive away, but it's progress Wink

bikesaregreat · 08/06/2011 11:17

dizzy I'm so sorry to hear that - how horrible. Just grim. Hope you're doing okay.

AF arrived this morning, damnit! Didn't manage to be strong - used a pee stick this morning just before also realised that the witch had actually arrived during the night - grrr.

We've been trying for nearly 2 years, but there are a few months I'm not counting, so really closer to 18 cycles. (I've been away with work a few times when ov, dh has been away some as well, and his BLOODY FOLKS showed up unannounced during the fertile time at one point - honestly - they keep going on about grandchildren and tick tock and stuff, but how do they expect to ever get any if they turn up and kill the mood? Hmm

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 11:29

sorry to hear af got you too bikes have a big fat highly alcoholic drink on me Grin

bikesaregreat · 08/06/2011 11:32

Cheers ninja - will rasie a glass to you tonight! Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 11:46

I shall need it when MIL comes visiting on sunday!

DizzyKipper · 08/06/2011 11:50

Think I might join you both for that drink later Wink And good luck with MIL on Sunday Ninja. Do you not get on very well?

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 12:01

she's lovely really, just somewhat full on!

PatientGriselda · 08/06/2011 14:24

Dizzy, I'm SO sorry to hear about the mc. Glad to have you back here trying again though.

Commiseration to bikes and ninj for AF, too.

CD 45 for me, which is where AF showed up for me last time. No pre menstrual symptoms yet. A few more days and I could consider myself late. Though as we scarcely shagged at all this cycle, it is very unlikely to come to anything.

Ninja, you were asking about dye in the laparoscopy. I don't think they are going to do the dye thing this time. The consultant said she wanted to try ovarian drilling first (eek). But she also said they might zap anything else they found whilst in there, so who knows, they might decide to stick some dye through as well.

havealittlefaithbaby · 08/06/2011 18:56

Boo to the evil witches' arrival! Sorry to hear that ladies. I'm enjoying the tww like a hole in the head. Sore boobs. Hardly any nausea this time which I.guess is a good thing if I'm not up the duff. Been eating really healthily which I'm sure is helping along with the bit of weight loss. Leg is lots better, hoping to be exercising again next week.
pg you gearing up to poas soon? Will they put you under to drill your ovaries? DH gets very worried about the idea if me having anaesthetic to have fertility investigations/treatment but I had a minor op before (tooth extraction!) so I'm not too bothered if it gets me closer to getting preggers!

PatientGriselda · 08/06/2011 20:25

faithbaby , good news that your leg and nausea are better at the moment. Am trying to rejoin you in the healthy eating zone, but have got mad cravings for scones and jam and cream. I may crack and have some for breakfast, and blithely ignore the muesli and fresh raspberries which are sitting reproachfully in the fridge!

Yes, they'll put me under for the drilling. Am not too fussed about it - I had day surgery under GA a few years ago, which seemed ok. Though this would be a bit more invasive than the last lot. But even so, it's sort of reassuring that I know the pre op ropes.

How far into the tww are you now?

havealittlefaithbaby · 08/06/2011 20:30

According to futility fiend (oh yes adopting that one) I am cd18 10dpo. Suddenly morphed into Jordan in the last half hour Hmm.
Oh I miss scones! Sometimes they have gf ones in Tesco but they are extortionate! I have enjoyed the last piece of the cake my dsis made. Yum. Back on minimal calorie phase of diet tomorrow Sad

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 21:07

evening all. pg do you know when the op is? Can I ask why/ what they are drilling for? Do you have PCOS?
faithbaby glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. And lol that you are adopting futility fiend! I sums up how I feel about it!
Well, one more cycle before before my hosp appt, I think this month dp can give up caffeine and alcohol. I am assuming since sperm is produced all the time that he can give it up and the new sperm would be about ready for action within a few days? It doesn't seem fair that its the women that have to give stuff up. Think I shall recommence with taking folic acid again too. Onwards and upwards.

PatientGriselda · 08/06/2011 21:14

Boob-wise, you mean? Sounds impressive!

havealittlefaithbaby · 08/06/2011 21:54

Lol yes they grow about 5 days before af is due!
Sperm takes 6 weeks to mature ninja! It is made in the testes and moves along the bus for 6 weeks til it finally comes out the other end Wink. So you may have to wait a while til his swimmers improve. DH is scoffing Brazil nuts and finally taking his conception well man pills. Excellent progress!

NinjaChipmunk · 08/06/2011 22:26

well I never knew that! You learn something new everyday. I shall tell dp when he gets home later. And then break it to him gently he's not allowed any fun except shagging for the forseeable future. Grin

PatientGriselda · 08/06/2011 23:11

ninja they are not scheduling the op till DP's sperm results are in, which will take at least a month. Yes, the drilling is because I have PCOS, and the consultant would rather try this than Clomid, since Clomid can lead to lots of follicles releasing eggs, while the drilling tends to lead to single releases. Am not sure I wouldn't prefer Clomid...

Is your DP expecting sperm analysis at your appointment?

havealittlefaithbaby · 09/06/2011 11:11

Hmm GP has asked DH to provide another sample. Flippin doctors receptionist implying he was too long from doing sample to turning it in. 22 minutes?! Is that too long?! Next appt he can get (simply to hand in sample), 24th August!! Don't they get how hard ttc is without creating such long waiting lists?! .Angry

NinjaChipmunk · 09/06/2011 11:55

Wow I'm amazed. Where we are you get a pot and a form from the gp and just drop it into the local hospital and pick the results up in a week from your gp! End of August is ridiculous! Also it says on ours you should turn it in within 2 hours but try to keep it warm (ie in a pocket or something)
PG he's already had one. They said the results were normal but I can't remember the actual figures they quoted. I would quite like to know though as then I can check them on t'internet.

PatientGriselda · 09/06/2011 13:03

I suppose it's their way of rationing the expense a bit - they are gambling on us falling pregnant naturally before they spend any money doing stuff to us. Which is reassuring in one way, but immensely frustrating in others. Mostly frustrating...

But good news that they think the first sample might be flawed, and there might be a better picture of your DH's sperm really.

PatientGriselda · 09/06/2011 13:04

Where are you ninja? We're in SW London and were told 3 weeks to get results back :(

havealittlefaithbaby · 09/06/2011 13:20

Am now worrying DH being on antidepressants is causing the sperm issues...

PatientGriselda · 09/06/2011 14:21

Have you looked up his medication to see if that's an issue which has been reported?
