Hi Loups, I went for a scan a week after the sac passed and they said my uterus was empty apart from a small pool of blood that would just work its way out so I guess that's what's happening.

I think i'll do another test on Monday and then give them a call. It's awful praying for a BFN after so long on praying to see 2 lines!!!

CollieandPup · 27/05/2011 20:29

pie I'm so sorry for your loss. But welcome. This thread is a lovely place for support. I tested about 4 weeks after my mc and got a bfn, although i suppose It could have been quicker as I didn't test earlier. it is horrid hoping for a bfn, especially after much testing for a bfp. But this is the one and only bfn we'll be hoping you get.

You're absolutely right, mc does completely throw you. We were ttc quite causally for about 6 months before my bfp. At the time I had a if it happens great, if not it will eventually attitude. That all changed for me too after my mc. I think part of that was a need to take some kind of control. So I started SMEP (sperm meets egg plan) and had dh and I rattling with supplements. see here I think in the main a healthy diet is the most important thing and I'm not sure how much good they did, but like i said, it was more of a control thing.
But that's not worked for everyone here, sone people prefering to try to not obsses over it too much.

Best of luck x

BlueCrane · 28/05/2011 08:47

Morning all... loup I recognise your name too. Sorry that we should meet again here Sad

Just to update from yesterday's post I had a huge breakthrough with my new and usually quite awkward boss who said he's just employed someone new for our team (been trying to get someone in for ages!) and they can start immediately and he's given them my project to do - he said he wasn't expecting to see me next week and that I should take my time...such a huge relief to know that is sorted!!

Really thought last night was going to start it off but think my 'cramps' may have been in my head if that makes sense...will hang in for the next week and go for the ERPC if nothing comes out before the scan on 7th. Got a day with very close friends today which will be nice and they only live just down the road so still v close to home if anything happens.

meliesmummy · 28/05/2011 16:01

Glad your work are being understanding blue, I hope that you have been able to have a nice time with your friends x

Hello and welcome pie. I got a bfn 2 1/2 weeks after my mc, a few days after the bleeding stopped. If your scan is clear that's good, I know that the wait is frustrating though. I am taking pregnacare conception and flax seed oil (which has really worked at increasing my cm) and dh takes wellman conception and 1000mg vit c, but after these have run out I'm not buying anymore because it's costing a fortune and I want to relax about it. Do what feels right for you x

loup I'm glad the consultant visit went well and he put your mind at ease.

Oh olis, I'm so sorry that your body played that horrible trick on you. You're right though, 14 days is a great lp!

How are you collie, and the pup?

I'm having a serious spot problem here, wtf? I haven't changed anything in my diet/wash routine but I'm as spotty as I was just after the mc...it started a few days ago so too early for pmt, I tried to blame the flax seed oil but a quick google revealed that it actually clears acne up not causes it. I'm fairly sure that I can't take anything for it whilst tcc so looks like I'm stuck looking like a spotty oik (Grin collie didn't I inadvertently somehow once call you a spotty oik when referring to myself?!)

meliesmummy · 28/05/2011 16:18

Has anyone heard any news of Cep recently? I'm a little worried, haven't seen her for ages?

And lily and laylas, everything ok?

laylasmummy09 · 28/05/2011 21:02

hi everyone, welcome new people, sorry you are going through this but glad you found us,
ollis so sorry your body has tricked you so cruelly i was so happy when you got your bfp and am gutted for you now
melies thanks for asking after me things seem ok here, been away for a wedding and nothing went wrong and didnt even feel sick on the way there of course at the time i was worrying about the lack of nausia and today travelling back i felt sick as a dog (still do) cramps not so bad but boobs feel like they are being stabbed a few times at random points throughout the day and dont get me started on the mixture of tiredness and insomnia!!! feeling more positive today,
i hope everyone has a weekend as stress free as possible x

PieMistress · 28/05/2011 22:08

Thanks for the warm welcome! Spotting has dwindled to brown mucus which I'm hoping means it's nearly gone - fingers crossed! Have stopped taking my Zita West 'Vitafem' as i'm not sure if it might have delayed my body completing the m/c or not with all the B Vitamins (or I could be totally guessing) so am back on just folic acid, Vitamin D & Vitamin C for the time being.

melies how and what quantities are you taking your flaxseed oil? Am interested in that it really increased your CM. The 'Vitafem' supplements also did that and co-incidentally I got a BFP the first month I'd been taking them.

My face is still quite spotty too and i've got red dry skin around either side of my nose! It looks awful, maybe pregnancy hormones still :(

I had reflexology at work yesterday too as i'm trying to stress less. The MW at the EPU said it was really important that I try and be as chilled out as possible when TTC (!!) I'm such a control freak in my daily life so that's going to take some doing!

Hope everybody is well, blue have seen your posts on the m/c board - I am thinking of you, take care x

meliesmummy · 28/05/2011 22:36

I take 1 capsule a day, I think it's 1000mg pie. I tried evening primrose oil but i think it aggrevated my cervical erosion so I stopped. I know what you mean about the skin thing...I was so spotty in the weeks after my mc and have no idea why I am now! I had 6 sessions of reflexology to get my cycles back to normal, it's great you can do it at work.

Hi laylas, glad the weekend went well, remind me again when your scan is?

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2011 13:23

Hi all hope you had a great weekend!

Its olismum23 thought i would change my name new start and all that :)

welcome pie this is a wonderfully supportive thread

googietheegg · 29/05/2011 13:23

Hello there all, a sad welcome to newbies too.

Can anyone give me some advice on my BFN? I know I have to wait till I get a BFN before starting to try again (MMC two weeks ago) so I just did a test but it's still positive, which is pretty hard to see.

The question is, I also did an ovulation test as my tummy felt like it was, and that's positive too. So how does that work?!?! Has this happened to anyone else and when did you start TTCing again?

TheFalconsmistress · 29/05/2011 13:27

I dint know what to say googie only that if it were me as tempting as it is to jump to dtd i would wait until i had bfn. but it is an utterly personal decision.

googietheegg · 29/05/2011 13:33

Thanks falcon I think you're right. I just really don't want to go through a MMC again so I think waiting a couple of weeks isn't too much of a hardship. I just didn't know you could be positive on a pregnancy test and an ovulation test at the same time!

meliesmummy · 29/05/2011 13:39

googie ov sticks also pick up hcg because lh and hcg are very similar. Also after a mc your hormones are all over the place so it's possible (and common I believe) to have lh surges without ovulating. As hard as it is I would retest in a few days and hold off dtd till then.

Hi falcon. I've thought about name changing but I think I'd get confused and I can never think of anything good that's not taken!

Waves to all x

ciwi · 30/05/2011 11:33

Hi ladies - am loving the new names! Glad to hear you are feeling more positive falcon
Well, I had some spotting a few days ago, its now settled and I have a positive opk! Really hope that means my cycles will be settling down now. Am really frustrated though because we can't ttc this month because of my thyroid problem. Am really hoping to join you all properly next month when I have been for more blood tests x

PieMistress · 30/05/2011 12:41

Hi, hope everybody is well after the weekend!

googie the positive OPK thing threw me as well! I tested one week after my m/c and got a shock (as was also still bleeding) but read on the POAS website that OPKs will show positive if you are pregnant (but not the other way around with pregnacy tests IYSWIM).

Well, i'm STILL showing a BFP 3 weeks after m/c - i'm so gutted. The bleeding has stopped though (phew) so we DTD last night as I just wanted to get the first time post m/c over with. However there was a very small amount of bright red blood this morning which i'm guessing is perhaps from my cervix? What a palava! I just wish it would go back to normal :(

We are going on holiday in a fortnight with another couple and their DD (who is same age as our DS) and she had a m/c a month before me. Can't believe the co-incidence. Am sure there will be a few tears shed over some nice wine (although at the moment i'm trying to maintain my lifestyle as if I were pregnant ie/ no alcohol (well very little) and low caffeine coffee!).

googietheegg · 30/05/2011 17:20

Hi all, I've got to have an Erpc as scan today showed i didnt yet pass the sac, which is a massive blow. So I'll be waiting another month before I join the ttc stats.I hope there are plenty of bfps from you all before then. Xxx

MissTinaTeaspoon · 30/05/2011 17:30

ciwi :) to positive opk! Good sign that your cycles are getting back to normal.

pie hopefully your bfn is around the corner then! I had quite a large post coital bleed a few weeks after my mc, the gp said that it was cervical erosion from all the hormone changes. (if you haven't heard of it it's basically cells that sound be inside your cervix migrating out, because they aren't used to that environment they bleed easily. I had it when I was pg with dd. It's cleared up now and it's not dangerous and it's common). Where are you off to on your hols?

I'm sorry to hear that googie. when are you having the surgery? Wishing you a quick recovery x

Waves to falcon, stitch, loup, laylas and lily and everyone else x

PieMistress · 30/05/2011 18:16

googie hopefully you will get a date soon for the ERPC - is that the procedure that you have under a local rather than general anaesthetic? Hope you recover well and soon x

misstina we off to a place called Kirkcudbright which is in Dumfries & Galloway. It's right by the beach so am hoping for some lovely weather :-) I've heard it's going to get really hot by the end of this week!

My skin problems are still hanging around too - nice dry, red and scaly skin round my nostrils - oh what joy!!

ciwi what have they said about your thyroid?

ciwi · 30/05/2011 21:53

pie I wouldnt worry about that bleed I have bled a bit post dtd after stilbirth and mc it will clear up. I have been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid (well its borderline) I have been started on thyroxine which basically replaces the hormone you dont make enough of. Need to wait till my levels are normal again which hopefully will be in a couple of weeks when i get my bloods done and then i can start to ttc
googie sorry you have to have an erpc but I suppose its for the best. roll on next month - it might not be the worst thing to give yourself a bit of time anyway. I had to wait because of my thyroid and all though i didnt like it i now feel like i needed the time to recover emotionally and physically x
